"For He shall give his angels charge over thee...." excerpt from Ps. 91
That is incredibly clean and so well-balanced. Congratulations!
A szép zenéhez szép templom és előadás.
ohne britischen akzent?
For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Great pronunciation. Especially "dich" usually seems to be pretty hard for british singers.
The rest is superb as well, of course :)
Wunderbarer transparenter Klang schöner Stimmen!
Strengthening my soul in a time of heart-breaking grief for a loved one who died during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Very sorry for your loss - and very grateful for the likes of Voces8 and the Gesualdo Six for providing music that can speak to us so powerfully in our times of greatest distress.

I'm a Nigerian Countertenor who specialises in Early music based in South africa as a scholar. I must confess that you guys are doing great job and i salute you all. Keep the good work moving and God bless.
Hope to hear your voice some day! Blessings for your future.
today also performed in a beautiful concert near Frankfurt 🥰
Wunderbar - auch die tolle Betonung 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The harmony of this piece is just genius
Wunderschön !......Greetings from South Germany
The gentleness of the ritardando here is an improvement on every single other group's orchestral handling. I got chills up my spine. Wow.
Danke!
I think Mr. Mendelssohn is considering coming back from the afterlife to thank you profusely for giving voice to his music in such a careful and heartfelt way :-) Thank you !
Wonderful! Heavenly......
Wunderschön. 💚
Einfach himmlisch! Welche zauberhafte Intonation ! Danke danke!!
I did sing the Elias about 40 years ago... now I'm sitting here and hearing this, literally in tears. It's so beautiful.
An exceptional ensemble! What voices!
I loved this sacred song .Amazing performances !!!
Thank you for singing this one as the final extra in Berlin in March 2024. Perhaps you wanted to conclude the evening for the audience of Berlin with a gift from one of the greatest composers who grew up in their home town.
goose pimples! I'm looking forward to your gig in my native town on 19 May
It soars and you make it sound so easy..new soprano sounds great..blending well.
Dies ist für mich HIMMELSMUSIK
Wunderschön!
❤️❤️❤️ as a german i can just say i love you and i love the song
Acc.to the 91st Psalm.
Beautiful rendering of this chorus from Mendelssohn's Elijah, usually performed by a larger chorus, but here sung flawlessly by only eight. Thanks.
That was really beautiful! I didn't even notice you weren't germans :D. It's really unfortunate that it clipped twice in the recording. But other than that this is a great recording and a phenomenal performance. Thank you!
one of the most beautiful pieces in the classic music. So happy, to have had the opportunity to hear that in a live concert from Voces 8 today close to Frankfurt. Just awesome, no words to describe that soft and clear beauty
You sang this in Birmingham, Alabama in a room that was acoustically dead, and yet it was scrumptious as in this recording. Thank you for your beautiful presentations!
This was the encore for last nights Voces8 concert in Solsberg, Switzerland. Definitely a highlight and a fitting theme to finish a concert.
Heard Voces8 tonight in Essen, what an incredible treat it was! They also performed this as the encore, a rich blessing to all of us listening 😇
Make sure, singing without notes, and only 8 singer...Chapeau!!! Nochmals Chapeau...it was an excellent presentation!
You are right. I know what you are talking about. I sang the T1 in an octet during a performance of the oratorio and I remember the difficult "und du nicht deinen Fuß an einen Stein stoßest" part.
Wonderful voices!! Sounding like a choir of angels!
When I read you are British I was so surprised, because your German is very excellent!!!!
I really enjoy listening to you!
Finoman kidolgozott, szép előadás
One of my favourite pieces to sing and hear sung. I love this rehearsal video. Blake's voice is so beautiful in this-always.
Do you know
where this church is ?
Thanks . ♡ 🕍
It's in the description below the video:)@@ritahorvath8207
unsagbar schön- wow- ich bin zutiefst berührt- Danke
Lovely. Sound very clear. Stunning chapel with all the sculptures & paintings.
Wunderschön, herzlichen Dank, thank you, merci, obrigada and stay safe
As always, utter, utter perfection in this glorious little piece. I keep coming back to it time after time. The perfection of the gentle rit at the end gets to me every time. I can just imagine Felix appearing and saying “Now THAT’s how I wanted it sung!”
really stunning
❤❤❤
I miss singing in a choir so much! Still pretty much illegal or very restricted in germany 😢
So nice, thank's a lot
this is so beautiful. my heart melts. thank you!
Gänsehaut!!!
Impeccable voices and rendition. Gives me goosebumps ❤
I nostri amici Voces 8, Spettacolari !!!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aussergewoehnlich schoen !
It’s a version of a bit from ‘Elijah’.
Superb pronounciation.
Excellent...!
Beautiful!
Letzten Samstag in Düsseldorf gehört.... sooo wunderschön

🙏🙏🙏
Wunderfull

Super !!!!!
Ein Traum!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve been in high school and middle school choirs as long as I could, and now I’m learning this piece for a competition and it’s beautiful when performed. Singing my part with you guys fill this piece with beauty and purpose for me. This has also helped me work on my vowels and pronunciation. Beautiful work guys.
You guys sound amazing, I love this piece so much! What a pleasure to hear you all 😍
WOW just WOW
Dare I swim against the tide and suggest that the 'surging' voice technique used in this recording detracts from the quality of the sound?
I agree. It's ravishing as it is, but the extra elegance of 'no surge' would win me completely. It's an easy habit to grow into.
what do you guys mean?
And this will be even more beautiful with the orchestral accompaniment.
Absolutely unnecessary.
Mein Thalamus weint
Hands out of pockets, please!!
@@eukleides2 who cares?
Very aggressive,. I don't like this one bit. And my guess is that Mendelssohn wouldn't have liked this either.
