What did you do with the first gallon of paint because they don't buy back paint once they mix it up? and you may have oodles of money to spend on samples at $6 they add up you bought five that's $36 then a wasted gallon of paint when you could have picked up as many paper swatches for free and taped them to the wall to decide what colors you wasted about $70
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher does this paint for the countertop not scratch or chip after time? I e never heard of panting countertop.also, don't you think the color of the sprinkles would change once added to the pant to the same color as the paint? I believe it is to give it texture and keep it from scratch . ??? Thanks God bless
I’ll have to say at first in the intro Lauren was talking but her reflection in the mirror she wasn’t! I was like oh no, abort mission and run cause something was not right 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You made a smart choice selecting navy blue for the cabinets. Amazing how much it transformed the space! Love the shelf and the gorgeous peel and stick wall paper in the drawers. Your mom has such a warm, friendly smile. She must have been the homecoming Queen and captain of the cheerleaders back in the day!
I love it all!!! That bathroom is almost exactly what we have as a guest bathroom. It really does look swanky and bigger after the makeover! Great job!!!
You are so inspirational! So cute that you did it for your parents. Keep up the great job Lauren. You are doing your part to keep furniture out of the landfill.
This is Lorraine from Corning New York you are still a teacher you were teaching us how to paint the right way what products to use on what surfaces to clean and how to paint the right way and how much everything cost and where you bought the products at thanks for showing the before and after effect it is always nice thank you for still being a teacher you're a wonderful teacher thank you and God bless
A tip I learned with the door stops, when you take the old one off, fill the baseboard trim, paint over it and use the type of door stops that go on the top hinge of the door!
The Beyond Paint products seem very user friendly and forgiving. I’ve been looking at the Rustoleum cabinet kit but will probably watch your full kitchen reno for more details about Beyond Paint. Painting the wood trim and door and caulking around the sink really gave it that extra touch. Beautiful job!
Well you sold me! I just purchased the counter kit from Beyond Paints! I can’t wait to do my bathrooms! Thank you for your guidance and clear instructions!
Another transformation success! Love all the colors you chose from the colors on the walls, trim, cabinetry, to the lighting fixture and sink. And as mentioned, you don’t have to spend an outrageous amount of money to make updates. I always say that paint is the easiest and most efficient way to go when updating / freshening up a home. I was so happy to see your father and mother be so excited to see the changes. Great Job 👏🏻 Lauren!!
I used Beyond Paint on my kitchen cabinets, ( not even real wood, formica I think), in Brilliant White. It's been almost three years and they are still perfect. I followed the Beyond Paint prep instructions down to the simple green and water rinse. All I have to do to keep them clean is wipe them down with a cloth with warm soapy water. Best desician I ever made. My old cabinet color was a dark brown and this lightened my kitchen up so much. 🙂
Beautiful job on the makeover of your parents bathroom!! One suggestion I would offer, which I have done in the past myself is frame out the mirror. This will give it a new feel and hide the worn edges of the construction mirror. I didn't even miter mine! I used some nice profile baseboard on the top and bottom with the flat edge facing up on both the top and bottom pieces and cut just over the width of the mirror about a 1/4 or 1/2 inch. For the sides I used a different wood trim piece that was just about as wide as the bottom and top pieces but was a trim piece that just had some groved vertical lines in it. The side pieces I measured and mounted those to fit in between the top and bottom pieces and fit flush on the edges with the top and bottom pieces to form a frame. I painted them the same color as my cabinet or you could paint them whatever color you think will coordinate. I attached them to the mirror with some construction glue calk. It really updated the mirror and gave it a Hotel/Spa feel! Just an inexpensive suggestion to give it an additional finishing touch. 😊👍
I love this idea!! We're moving into our first home and the mirrors are still the builders grade. This sounds like a simple, inexpensive way to upgrade the mirrors
You did an amazing job. I'm so bold I would have done a frame around the mirror in the navy & the window in Navy with some privacy decals or frost. I also would have done a Navy Shower Curtain to tie everything together. You did an amazing job as is. Amazing job. That's just the home interior decorator in me.
This bathroom turned out amazing !! I love the colors, especially the Navy on the cabinets. Thanks for giving me some great ideas when I decide to redo by bathroom. Thanks Lauren and Neiman for another great video !!
Man I love this girl!!!! She makes me feel like I can do this!! And guess what… I’m going to start!!! So encouraging and supportive!! I finally want to be able to support my daughter and I!!!
The results are amazing. As always you did a fantastic job. I’m so glad you painted the trim. Just brings everything together. I’m sure your parents are very happy with their new bathroom. Love the Navy on the vanity!
A trick I learned while helping my mom choose a paint color for her bathroom was to do the samples so that each of them is next to the trim or tile that will still be there, rather than have some further away. It made it a lot easier to catch the ones that didn't compliment the existing colors as well. Also, you can buy stick-on sheets that you can paint, then peel off the wall easily - so you can move the samples around to get an idea of how it looks on different surfaces. Lastly, my experience from having to repaint a rental-house bathroom every 3 years or so - the samples are usually a flat paint, so using that above the shower isn't the greatest idea. A semi-gloss, or satin, helps with water resistance much better. Eggshell at minimum for a bathroom if you don't want condensation to damage the paint. Beautiful makeover!
Oh Lauren! You work so hard! What a sweetheart you are. You’re so generous with the sharing of your ideas, skills and success. Your parents were instrumental in supporting you when you began this project, so I understand the family dynamics at work here. Your partner/husband is also so supportive but you definitely ‘drive this bus’ girl! Good on you! So lucky to have found each other!
Those counter tops are perfect for doing a resin pour. Wish my counter top was more like that one. I use resin and it turns out beautiful. Great job on the makeover. It's so much fun doing bathrooms.
Lauren, I love watching your videos! You have inspired me to do my own renovations! I just have not got the nerve to start yet! LOL! I did try painting a fiberboard and wood oak colored lateral 2 drawer file cabinet in my office using white chalk paint and what a disaster! I used a foam brush. It looks like either the person was drunk (which I was not) or it was a child who painted it! You make it look so easy! I am glad your parents appreciated and liked your hard work! I would do 2 other things: first, use that navy paint and clean up that frame. It may be cosmetically distressed but not what I can see from a distance. The other is to frame out the mirror. Great job, Lauren!
Great Job! I used the soft gray beyond paint to refinish my kitchen cabinets. With new hardware, they look completely different. That stuff is really terrific.
Great job 👏 if i may suggest...trim out your mirror with some wood trim! Paint it white, grey, navy...or a grey/whitewash would be really nice with your scheme. It makes such a difference to frame it!
I’m glad she painted the trim and door. I painted my kitchen counter tops years ago before I replaced them with granite. They turned out great and it was a great inexpensive makeover.,
Nice work and lovely makeover! Your parents must be very pleased and grateful! Tip: It would be better to do the backs of the doors first, all coats needed, then turn it over and do the front so that nothing mars the front after it has been painted. The front won’t have to be placed front side down on anything, insuring no imperfections in the paint job.
Your results are perfection--no drips on that tile floor, I'm impressed! I was wondering tho about the ceiling, in bathrooms these can be kinda icky from steam and things, what are your thoughts on that.
Watched the video.. thought you and your dad working together under the sink..is cute... great job..I always learn something... you are a lovely person. God bless you.
Okay now I have to go back and look for your 👻 ghost to see what everyone is talking about. I totally missed it! Great job! My favorite part is when you and your dad were underneath the sink working side by side. Love it!
I would suggest trying all the sample colors next to the wood and tile, not beside each other. That way you can really see how they compare equally to the current substrates.
I used Beyond pain on my kitchen cabinets and it worked out great! 3 months later and the finish is still holding. Really modernized the look from the dated oak. Was a lot of work but much easier than having to sand, clean, paint and repeat. Would recommend.
Photo finish!!! It looks amazing!!! Pro-tip, dip your finger in some blue Dawn dishwashing liquid then smooth your caulk. It won’t stick to your finger and gives a smoother finish to the caulk.
If you start with painting the door backs, let them dry a little, then put on pyramids and paint the front, it will save dry time and the worst that can happen is you’ll have four tiny pimples on the back
***This is a great tip right here!*** So often we start with the "important" side and not think the order of the process through! Your suggestion makes so much sense. Thank you for sharing!
This was a GREAT thing to do for your parents. I like that you chose to add the blue (even though you agreed on the grey). I also like that the blue was masculine enough for your dad, but the addition of the plants, feminine type accessories brought the entire look together. THANKS for posting. Keep up the good work!!
Wow, you're meticulous! I've painted my whole house twice and never wiped down a wall.😄 Just a tip for the future: You really need a good angled brush for cutting in. Makes it much easier! You did a lovely job and your parents must be very proud of you!🙂
Wonderful job you did for your parents. One suggestion to upgrade that mirror for less than $30. Buy some decorative wood molding and glue it straight to the mirror.
Most of those mirrors are applied with an adhesive that you cannot loosen. That means that you have to cut a hole in the sheep Rock and replace a huge piece of sheetrock, tape mud and paint. We opted for framing in that big ugly mirror rather than going through the whole mess of taking it out
Awwwww! That was so nice of you to do all that hard work for your parents and make it a beautiful space. Yes happy you decided to do the trim. It really brightened it up and modernized it. 😀
This is what I need todo, paint both my bath vanity’s . It seems easy for someone young to do, I love the color I was thinking it was really dark, but it is really pretty. God Bless,🙏🏽👍💕
Lauren, this is absolutely gorgeous!!! What a wonderful thing to do for ur precious parents. What a great family you have. You & your hubby are sooo sweet. God bless you all. Luv ya from Texas.❣💟🥰✝️
OK at 1:23 when your reflection in the mirror was doing something different than you were was really freaky like a scary movie! Love the reno, glad you could do for your parents
I'm going to be moving in the next 6 to 8 months and by watching your channel you have made me realize that I can find my perfect house even if the house itself isn't totally perfect because apparently paint now in days can work wonders on everything as long as it's in decent condition. Who knew!? Love the channel ❤️ Thank you for the inspiration 😊
Nice job! Painting the wood trim was a huge plus. Your parents were obviously happy with the reveal. I recently helped a friend refresh her bathrooms in preparation to sell her home. Like you we painted walls, ceiling, vanity, window and door trim. We also framed the huge mirror. She had dark brown floor tiles that clashed with her new grey and white refresh. She bought the supplies and we painted her ceramic tile floor a pale gray. The room seemed even larger and brighter.
Are we just not gonna talk about her reflection doing completely different things in the mirror than in real life?
1:10 For the glitch in the matrix.
I just scrolled down to see if anyone else noticed or if I was just going crazy! That was trippy!
We saw the same and it is weird, what time lapse are you on? It was super odd
First thing I noticed was Lauren's mirror ghost! Kinda fun
Haha 😂 I would never have noticed
Creeped me out!!
Making your mother happy is what it's all about. Remember folks, you only have one mother. I miss mine every single day.

I was like wth is going on 😮
That navy is stunning

Omg! The reflection! I had to go back to make sure I saw it right. Great Job! Keep it up
Ha ha that creeped me out a bit!!
@@sylviafrutos5796 I know, I just commented on it. Very creepy! Hoping it was a glitch!
I was about to comment on that - how her movements didn't match her reflection in the mirror
How the heck?
1:16 look at her hand when she says "try my hand" SPLIT SCREEN" they did it on purpose to freak you out🤣
So glad you painted the trim and door! Nothing dates a space more than dark wood trim. Makes every space more elegant too.
