- Before Jesus Christ appeared to the people of Ancient America, they suffered through extreme disasters - earthquakes, storms and fires claimed countless lives and destroyed entire cities. Three days of darkness began.
During the time of vast darkness, widespread suffering caused the surviving people to cry out with intense sorrow - all of which fulfilled the words of the prophets, foretelling the crucifixion of Christ.
Ultimately, the suffering of these ancient people came to a close. They heard the voice of Christ speak to them. The voice of God the Father was heard introducing Jesus as His Beloved Son. The people saw the resurrected Savior come down to earth and minister to them.
3 Nephi 9: 13 -18
13 O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.15 Behold, I am Jesus Christ the Son of God. I created the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are. I was with the Father from the beginning. I am in the Father, and the Father in me; and in me hath the Father glorified his name.16 I came unto my own, and my own received me not. And the scriptures concerning my coming are fulfilled.17 And as many as have received me, to them have I given to become the sons of God; and even so will I to as many as shall believe on my name, for behold, by me redemption cometh, and in me is the law of Moses fulfilled.18 I am the light and the life of the world. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.
3 Nephi 11: 7 -12
7 Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name-hear ye him.8 And it came to pass, as they understood they cast their eyes up again towards heaven; and behold, they saw a Man descending out of heaven; and he was clothed in a white robe; and he came down and stood in the midst of them; and the eyes of the whole multitude were turned upon him, and they durst not open their mouths, even one to another, and wist not what it meant, for they thought it was an angel that had appeared unto them.9 And it came to pass that he stretched forth his hand and spake unto the people, saying:10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.11 And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning.12 And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words the whole multitude fell to the earth; for they remembered that it had been prophesied among them that Christ should show himself unto them after his ascension into heaven.

While serving a mission in 2004, I had to have brain surgery that almost took my life. After the operation, I lost the ability to use my arms and legs for a time due to the trauma of my brains condition. I was discouraged and feeling a lack of faith.
I read 3 Nephi and specifically chapter 17 where Christ heals those who were afflicted. It gave me such comfort knowing the Lord was aware of my situation and would eventually heal me. Its taken 18 years and 16 more surgeries since then but I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I am grateful for His healing power.
You kept the faith.. I lost it and I didn't even suffered nearly of what you had to go through for eighteen years. I am still hanging by a thread after 10 years but I am amazed right now at your strength.

I have always been so moved while reading these passages, that Christ would take the time to let EVERYONE touch Him. There were hundreds present! Yet He took the time to personally envelope each of them. He loved them ALL as He loves all of us! He lives and invites us all to come into Him where we, too, can find rest! Thank you for bringing visual life to what my heart always saw and knew to be true!❤

I felt the Holy Spirit testify that all of us will one day meet Jesus Christ face to face and have an individual experience with Him like these people did! Hallelujah!
I had that vision myself all the 12 tribes of Israel and righteous to meet the lord face to face .

Amen 🙏 God obviously created His kids on BOTH sides of the world and sure as heck would have communicated or reached out to BOTH. Not just His kids in only the ancient eastern hemisphere. Leaving in such a long more or less 6000 years void, the many millions of ancient american inhabitants stranded?? Same ones just as much in need of the word of God and His many prophets?? Not one contact with word of God or Christ till nearly 1500 years after Christ's birth????..... Give me a break. Give God a break. Thank God almighty the highest 🙏💛 🤲
Something that impacted me so much about this video is the portrayal of receiving and helping refugees. They didn’t ask where they were coming from, they just simply took them in and helped. ❤ There are so many people displaced by circumstances entirely out of their control, we need to mobilize to help the same way these people did in bountiful ❤❤❤

I was raised in a church that persecutes my current faith. I, myself, was "caught in a snare." I misinterpreted scriptures that kept me from listening. And I thought I was a Bible scholar! A true scholar is always listening.
This video portrays a blind girl. I was blinded by "mists of darkness." Thanks be to God for the grace of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I eventually listened to His messengers, especially the Holy Ghost (see John 14:26 and 21:25). Listening changed everything. I can now see. What is it like? It's wonderful!
John 10:16 "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."

I've felt the saving grace of the Savior in my own life. His Holy Spirit came to help me at a critical time in my life, to pull me through what could have been a very different out come. I love Him, He is the way the truth and the life. As Elder Olsen mentioned in General Conference, Jesus is always the answer.

I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. When Christ embraced that first little child I really lost it. These videos are truly inspired.
I learned of this video as President Nelson was announcing it. What an amazing video. One talk that helped me learn more about Him was the talk on the names of Christ in the Sunday afternoon session. I want to learn more about Him and about how I can become more like Him by learning more about His names.
My favorite scripture is 3 Nephi 11:14. I love that Jesus Christ personally invites each individual to touch His hands and know that He is their Savior. He invites each of us to feel the saving effects of His infinite Atonement. We can each feel the love He has for us as we draw upon the power of His Atonement.
Words cannot express the joy that God and the love that Christ brings me. Even in times of turmoil, I know that I can turn to Him for comfort and safeguard. Blessed be the name of God!

I would be bawling my eyes out if I was there, seeing Jesus descend to earth like that and just being in His holy presence..

One of the greatest moments of the Book of Mormon, Jesus coming to the Bountiful Temple and teaching the people, through His actions and His words.

I had a stroke and I'm very young, I lost my ability to move my right side and my speech,. I served a mission and all callings and the priesthood, when I was laying in bed like that, I pray humble in his name 3 months later I was fully recovered, I know that Christ lives

I learned this video from one of Pres. Russel M. Nelson's talk in the 192nd Semiannual General Conference, so I downloaded this very amazing video. I love the Lord Jesus Christ very much and I am very excited to see him personally one day.
This was absolutely beautiful to watch. My heart was full of emotion as I watched each individual’s response to coming towards the Savior. There was so much compassion and even heartbreak as He greeted each person; one sensed that He knew everything they had been through, all of their pains and sorrows, and He loved them intensely and intimately.
So much happened in those moments of greeting.
I’m grateful to have watched this this morning.
I am a Catholic but I admire the Book of Mormon. All thanks from the Latter-day Saints

This brought tears to my eyes when I saw the part with the people touching the prints of the nails in His side,hands and feet.That is one of the things I look forward to doing someday myself.Just bowing down before Jesus and feeling the prints of the nails that He received for me.

When He knocks at your door, let Him in! With Christ, you shall not fall but shall be lifted up! He is the life and the light of the world! He will enter into our lives as fully as we let Him! We live in such a difficult world right now, and when I find myself having trouble getting out of bed to face it, I watch these videos and am filled with the Spirit and ability to face my day. The scriptures from The Book of Mormon that these videos are based on are true. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and translated the book by the power of God. Jesus Christ lives, and He and our Father in Heaven love us more than we can imagine.

This is such a great video. It reminds me of the Testaments Movie that the Church came out with years ago, but with more of a personal feeling and oneness with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Testament video can be ordered online. Our church has a distribution center and they can be ordered from there. I think they are a dollar each. (Or something like that: barely over the cost of making the DVDs and pachaging them in their color packaging)

This remembers me of one shepherd one fold…
There's a reason the hero's journey is an archetype that spans both the length and breadth of nations, cultures, and creeds: the Savior's life and mission, foretold since the beginning of the world, is the literal fulfillment of the hero's descent and ascension. But there aren't many stories yet told that tell us what the hero's purpose is once he overcomes his ultimate trial, because so many of us are still within our own journeys. Fortunately for all of us, that story has been told, and continues to be told to this day. I'm so looking forward to more visual representations of Christ's visitation of the Americas. And, as a writer, I can't wait to hear the tales of the Savior's ministry to yet other lands, the tales yet untold. For the hero's journey never truly ends, and I can testify of that. In life, the Master never was one to sit idly by when any of His Father's children called for His aid, and He has not stopped yet. All you need to do is ask.
You would really enjoy the book He Walked The Americas by L. Taylor Hansen. There are many other stories of Christ visiting different parts of the Americas that is shared within the indigenous people's oral history.

We've been waiting for this for a while. About time they started up these videos again.
Sadly because of the covid pandemic, there's a lot they probably haven't been able to cover. I wonder if they would have done the war chapters from Alma?
Also, while the actor who's playing Jesus is good, I don't think he has quite the voice and style that the actor who played Jesus in the Bible videos had. I know the message is still the same, but at the same time I miss the Jesus we saw before.
Of course both those actors, as good as they are, pale in comparison to Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in The Chosen.
I like that you said the message is the same. That is the most important part. I personally admit I like some portayals more than others, but as long as the message is the same, that's the important part.
3 Nephi 8: 21
21 And there could be no light, because of the darkness, neither candles, neither torches; neither could there be fire kindled with their fine and exceedingly dry wood, so that there could not be any light at all;
In reality I think there was no light at all, that people couldn't see each other and couldn't see anything around.

How many of you see that this is a pattern of things to come when Christ shall resurrect the 2 prophets in Jerusalem & save the Jews that will split the mount of olives in two when he stands on it, causing the continents to come together like in the days of Adam ( D&C section 103) then the gathering of the 10 tribes will happen & Christ will visit his temple in Missouri & at Adam ondi Ahman? It’s very likely!

I wish they had the same actor who played Christ in the New Testament in the Book of Mormon. The vapor of darkness was so intense, you could not even see your own hands, let alone those around you. But, I get it.
Similar to the New Madrid fault earthquake that occurred back in the 1800s
the love and kindness he shows to everyone brought tears to my eyes. Its so beautiful to see him love us and be so sincere and know each of us one by one.
I've watched this three times and it brings tears every time.
