Beautiful! When I first learned of the making of these videos, I secretly wished to play one of the many faithful mothers of the Sons of Helaman, even if just in the background. I didn't know how this would even be possible, but for some unforeseen circumstances, months later I found myself in Utah taking care of my daughter, and was invited to participate as an extra on the last day of filming. It wasn't until we were on set that I was told what we were portraying. To my delight, it was one of the scenes in this video. My unspoken wish was granted :)
Awesome and beautiful! Nothing stops men and faith against adversity. Nothing is more inspiring than the courage of youth nourrished through faith. Nothing is more joyful than the blessings of a loving heavenly Father in response of faithful prayers and relenteless hope in the midst of adversity and opposition. Nothing is more exemplary than the devotion of fathers to their son's life's threatening decision to make a stand for liberty, peace and righteousness brought up from their mother's constant careful teachings of our Creator's ways. Nothing beats knowing the gospel of Christ and applying its laws. Nothing.
Started crying in the beginning, teary all through. This is powerful. Thank you for this incredible video, portraying the many faith promoting stories in the Book of Mormon. Read it everyday….
It never ceases to amaze me how many blessings are poured out on those that just try...and how Heavenly Father is in every aspect of our lives. And that Heavenly Father takes the time to bless us with the daily comforts that we need and desires that we have. I don't understand how folks make it in this world without the gospel.
I grew up with the images of buff young adults as the stripling warriors. I'm so grateful to have this portrayal that focuses on the spiritual strength of these young men as opposed to physical strength. It's especially touching to see the widow from the video where her husband died praying before the Lamanites, pray over her now older sons who volunteered to go fight. For some of those young men, the mothers that knew and taught their sons were single mothers. What a beautiful example of faith and strength.
They were probably more rugged than it is possible for so many young men to become in our day simply because of the extreme differences in daily life. Your point is valid. They were just the ordinary youth of their day answering a frightful call with the simplest faith. They were not supermen, not until God made them so in answer to their faith and obedience.
You can read about this but till you see it in movies, it hits home more. So thank you for making these movies. I appreciate all the work that was done. It was fantastic!!! ❤❤
Oh my Lord, how He delivered them! I wept with the mothers. I rejoiced when they were spared. How real, the passages of the Book of Mormon came to life! Bravo. What a tribute to the Lord.
I absolutely loved this! The production value is fantastic and acting was superb! I especially loved seeing the stripling warriors depicted as so young and yet so brave! The young men with speaking roles were especially good!
Both my nephews played a part in these movies their real life mother is faithful as was their Lamanite grandmother. One of my nephews was standing in a checkout line in Provo when one of the film producers asked if he was a Native American? My nephew replied "Yes I am I'm Navajo," she asked him if he'd like to participate in the filming of the Stripling Warriors? He accepted. He's a big young man 6'5" and his brother 6'7" joined him as an extra on the movie set. Prophecy fulfilled. I loved the film based on the great faith of the Children of Lehi. ❤️
Let them know that I cried, it was beautifully done. So any good part, handing out food was so touching. For me the best part, was the end when they come together. For none were lost. Group hug! I cried even harder.
Amazing. So many principles taught so powerfully in just a 20 minute video. I love the Book of Mormon and just know that it is true. It teaches plainly of Christ.
I loved seeing these YOUNG men in this video! I always thought of strong men in their 20s, but scripture tells us these were YOUNG men! Great depiction!! ❤
This was a beautiful portrayal. I serve as a leader with the youth, and I thought of the young men and their brothers. It brought tears to my eyes. Such faith, heart and bravery. God truly did deliver them, and their faith never wavered. Thank you❤️
This is so uplifting for the courage and the Book of Mormon and the story that confirms the past and prophets recording words and testimony of Jesus Christ
I see the Book of Mormon and the Bible on display in my own personal life. I know that I am in The Last Days. The United States of America has similar struggles to that of Zarahemla. It's pretty amazing. Just like the righteous leaders and people found in the Book of Mormon and the United States of America has their own righteous leaders... I see of events that took place from the Old Testament and The New Testament and Pearl of Great Price ... President Nelson has asked for us to be prepared and other things. I am so grateful. The Doctrine and Covenants goes with our Church. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
So inspiring, what a miraculous account. The faith of the mothers, many of whom were probably single since so many men had been killed by the Lamanites, was passed to their sons. The faith of those mothers wrought a mighty miracle and saved not only the Stripling Warriors, but the other Nephites. What great women and great sons.
I really loved this video, putting every word in the book of mormon about the stripling warrior's to live action... still has the same powerful effect on me spiritually 😢 thank you!
I teared up watching this, and almost nothing can make me cry. My favorite book of mormon video yet. Just an incredible story with a beautiful depiction of it.
That was sweet! As a filmmaker, it’s helpful to recognize this is meant for an international audience to convey the story. I loved the dolly shot pushing in past the fire towards the praying mothers, casting very young looking boys as the stripling warriors and the tender moment between Helaman embracing the boys. The choice Helaman gave to his “sons” was a powerful moment to capture, some of the scriptures are hard to grasp without a visual like that. I don’t doubt that the Lord wants us to have faith like these men and women did in our own trials, regardless what battles we have to fight. We need the words of Captain Moroni embedded in our hearts and homes right now more than ever.
Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful depiction of such an inspiring and true story. I know for me personally, even as a younger man myself, it makes a big difference to SEE just how young the stripling warriors were, beyond just reading it. Even facing what must have been the most terrifying circumstance of their entire young lives, they went forth in defense of their God, their religion, and their families. I truly cannot thank everyone involved in these videos enough for how they have helped me to truly comprehend the reality of the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was translated by the power of God through the prophet Joseph Smith.
Interesting...! Mothers have a great work to do in the life of her family members,, she builds faith in her children, she is a great teacher, she taught her children to exercise faith in the Savior Jesus Christ, not to doubt the Lord nor his goodness. May the Lord help us to be true and faith, and to teach our children the right thing...in the name of Jesus Christ Amen..!
11:41 Because seeing this portrayed is so much different than reading about it. I got chills the first and second times I watched this video. To know that these young men had such great courage is AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL.
God is My shield and My buckler. my strength at my right hand. That’s from the Psalms. But I’m opening my mind to the Hebrew teachings of the Mormon leaders. Cool!
That should be our rallying cry as Christians. Much of the world lacks truth these days. Imagine having that much faith and trust in your leaders knowing that you would come out victorious so long as we follow God and stand for what is right in his eyes. I assume most of these videos were filmed in Utah? I can only imagine that these young warriors were really no older than 13 to 18 years old, many of them. We certainly need more of the Helaman and Captain Moroni's these days.
Imagine... how many of these 2000 (+60) valiant sons of Helaman did not have fathers. 1,005 men died... laying down their lives so that they wouldn't take the lives of those who hated them (before they came to the land of Jershon). None of them spiritually perishing, and all obtaining eternal life. There's another group who fought with none of the perishing... those men who valiantly defended the city of Noah...against the entire army of the Lamanites "...,there was not a single soul of the Nephites which was slain." Alma 49 23 Thus the Nephites had all power over their enemies; and thus the Lamanites did attempt to destroy the Nephites until their chief captains were all slain; yea, and more than a thousand of the Lamanites were slain; while, on the other hand, there was not a single soul of the Nephites which was slain.
I can see why Helaman's stripling soldiers resonate with you-their bravery and commitment to freedom are powerful themes. For me, my focus has shifted to the freedom that comes through Christ alone, as described in the Bible. Galatians 5:1 says, 'Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.' While I appreciate the values found in stories like that, my heart now finds its true anchor in the teachings of Jesus and the freedom He offers."
Ok, at 2:58 --- I was waiting for the younger boy to also step forward and volunteer, with his Ammonite momma pulling him back to tell him that he was way TOO young!! Loving these Book of Mormon videos!!
Teens in 2024: I will fight God and my parents over my own feelings Teens in 62 BC: By the power of God, I will fight for my parents and all they have taught me
Elder Brent H Nielsen recently told a true story of a modern day Army of Helaman at the Women's Conference. Seems it happened during the Korean War to a unit out of Utah. They have a memorial about it.
Any problematic doctrine is just that prophet’s opinion, no matter how vehemently or frequently he invoked his office and the Lord’s name. When it’s more enriching doctrine, then that prophet spoke for the Lord for sure.
Those passages are often taken literally when they’re actually figurative (in reference to character, not race). Saints Unscripted had a video about it.
I expect that there was more visible differentiation between the groups, and skin color was a part of that, but it's impossible to know what things really looked like, and when the producers create these films they choose what to emphasize. It's a good representation.
We won't be producing any more seasons of the Book of Mormon video series at this time. For for any future projects, you can visit the link below! www.churchofjesuschrist.org/serve/casting?lang=eng

The Book of Mormon is so powerful. Any honest person who reads it prayerfully will know that it is Gods word. Love that book
One of my favorite passages in the Book of Mormon about faith in action, and the miracles that God sends as a result. So beautiful!

I'm glad that they included a scene where the mothers were praying for their sons while they were at war. Their prayers were answered.
May we have faith as these young ones in the trials that surely lay before us in the coming storm.
The Army of Helaman is such an amazing story in The Book of Mormon. I love the faith that they presented.

This is the Book of Mormon video I’ve been waiting for since they first started!
My absolute favorite story in the scriptures. Jesus Christ is our strength! Follow the Prophet! CTR!
Seeing the things you read come to life is surreal.
Been waiting to see this scene! They're one of my favorite faithful characters in the book of mormon❤
This was a beautiful portrayal. I serve as a leader with the youth, and I thought of the young men and their brothers. It brought tears to my eyes. Such faith, heart and bravery. God truly did deliver them, and their faith never wavered. Thank you❤️

They were young but firm in their minds.
What a powerful example of faith, diligence and integrity from a young group of men.
One of the most inspiring stories in Alma. Loved this video.

One of the best Book of Mormon videos. 🎉
Very believable portrayal of the young men stepping forward. That would have been a bittersweet time.
What fantastic portrayals of the story of the stripping warriors

AMEN!! Thank You So Very Much for posting this video today. it is what i needed to see and hers today.
This is my favorite story because these 2000 young men were taught by their mother’s and not one lost their lives.
To see the joy and support that those stripping warriors bring is amazing!
God is My shield and My buckler. my strength at my right hand. That’s from the Psalms. But I’m opening my mind to the Hebrew teachings of the Mormon leaders. Cool!
Awesome!
Thank you for that thought!
An inspiring story of faith 🙏🏻
One of my favorite stories.
Such a beautiful video! I love that touching scene when the warriors families are praying for them
Love this story
Glad to see more of the series especially during these turbulent times. Too many modern day Amalickiahs in government today.
You got that right, my friend.
Yes.
This added so much depth and love for those little men 🥲 am I the only one sitting in a puddle of tears?😅
unity in faith is our strength.
Cool! Love this story
