It is not Biblical. Where in the Bible does it say you cannot be unborn again? You are backreading onto the parable additional qualities from the analogy and putting words in the our Lord's mouth that he never said. This is exactly hos doctrine's of men start. Stop it. I will warn you here to stay away from this sin.
The Rooted Word “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is PASSED from death unto life.” John 5:24 KJV www.bible.com/1/jhn.5.24.kjv
This brings much comfort to know that God who started a good work in us will perform until the end. Nothing is more powerful than the words of God. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
He gave us the right answer in the simple statement “ only God knows”! Then he proceeds to explain how we can tell who has fallen away? The fact is King David a man after Gods own heart committed a heinous Murder and Adultery! And God set aside David’s Sin! David praises God in the Psalms by saying “ blessed is the man who God does not impute sin”! David like us was under Grace ! and Fell just like Hank does ! But we don’t lose our salvation or Grace is vain?
King David repented, confessed his sins and penitence to ask God to restore the grace, it was’n for free. Hear Psalm 51 (NIV): 1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. 11 Do not cast me(Z) from your presence(AA) or take your Holy Spirit(AB) from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation(AC) and grant me a willing spirit,(AD) to sustain me.(AE) 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,(AF) so that sinners(AG) will turn back to you.(AH) 14 Deliver me(AI) from the guilt of bloodshed,(AJ) O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

@@ricardosal2356 good morning Ricardo,,, this is my explanation, David did not need to repent to be saved, he was already considered righteous and saved by God.. but he was feeling bad and wanted to be feeling closer to God again.. I believe he was praying this after Samuel confronted him and David was feeling terrible about what he had done... so that was his prayer from his heart.. David was called a man after God's own heart! David was also living in an old covenant.. we live in a New covenant a much better greater covenant Jesus said! And the writer of Hebrews States, Hebrews 7:21.. also, did you know? That nowhere in the Gospel of John does John ever mention repentance, even one time! But what John does mention over a hundred times is the word believe, or believes!!! just believe in Jesus! Check it out for yourself and you will see..
@@jayheinz4624 it requires a lot of imagination to elaborate conclusions contrary to the scripture cus why God bothers to send Samuel in first place if King David had a free pass? I can elaborate a hundred and one speculations but I would land, same as you, out of the “sola scriptura”, don’t I? In the other hand see closer psalm 51 verse 14th : “Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed” In the new covenant Paul teaches that even himself after have been proclaiming the Gospel he can be disqualified. Is this is a nice gesture also from Paul?: “So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 So, my friend, you and I better keep the good discipline as Paul recommend. Don’t you think?
A truly saved Christian will never lose his salvation, because it is based on the work of Christ, which was perfect. A person who is born again cannot die again to sin. Those who were among the Christians and went astray were never saved. Our salvation is totally in Christ, not in the Church, in our works or anything else.
I heard Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones once say ' that the problem with us Christians is we always in our thinking begin with ourselves. What is a Christian the Dr asked ? It is someone to whom God has done something to not someone who has taken something up' . For me who is naturally a man who from birth desperately always felt I needed to earn points from people to be accepted this profound statement by Lloyd Jones helped set me straight . I am saved by God because He chose to save me. He did something to me He took me out of Adam - gave me new birth by the Holy spirit in which i played no part whatsoever as John 3 makes clear. I did not do this to myself. God did it My Christian life - the narrow road with the ongoing battle with the world and the devil actually has been a battle with the mind - Stop always beginning with yourself Clive ! Get the order right. Saved by God for His own Name sake purchased by the blood of His Son for His Name sake and kept for His own Name sake and loved by The Father as the Father loves the Son. Called to good deeds which he has prepared in advance for me to do. And along the way I have discovered this truth - that whilst being secure in Christ the born again believer will have to stand before the judgment seat of Christ...now that should be taken very very seriously . I've been thinking about this issue for a long time. The truth is I don't know what to believe about it. There are scriptures that back up both views. I have seen verses that say that once you're saved you're always saved. But I have also seen verses that say that you can lose it. So I don't know what to believe.
@@TheGreatSkull123 Thank you very much for your reply. May the Lord bless you. It's not only the verses in Hebrews that have bothered me about this issue. There are many more. There is also a verse in revelation where Jesus says He can blot out a believer's name from the book of life. I'm not quite sure myself what a believer has to do to get their name erased from God's book. But this verse has bothered me also. However, I DO believe that I am saved. I believe it with my whole heart. But as I said there are some verses that have thrown me into confusion about this issue. But thank you very much for your reply. It made a lot of sense. God bless you.
Yes, the once saved always saved position highlights two issues. 1. It denies the potential for sin to turn one away from God. 2. It is presumptuous...Peter denied our Lord 3 times yet said he wouldn't--now that's not only presumptuous but arrogance. The only thing we can be absolutely assured of is God's faithfulness to us. We have to have Faith to believe this; Hope that we will remain in Him with His help (Grace); and continue to surrender to Him--to Love. Faith, Hope, and Love.

@@martin9410 No reasonable being could believe in OSAS. Imagine this example. You get married and you proclaim your faith to your wife. If you apply the OSAS "logic" in a marriage, then this means that since you once had faith in your marriage, then now it doesn't matter how many times you cheat your wife. You will still be married and she won't be able to tell to you that you betrayed her trust. What OSAS is actually asking from God is to be like the wife in the example ... All we have to do is proclaim our faith and then we can cheat and cheat with no consequences ? no wonder that "dogma" is gaining traction in our lazy era of people that hate accountability for their actions.
This response basically says, if you turn back, you were never really saved. Under that premise, a person will never actually know they are saved until the end. There is no assurace of being currently saved under that model. In addition, we do have a biblical example of some who were appointed directly by the Holy Spirit who then turned to false doctrine. Examine Acts 20:22-31. This is Paul saying goodbye to the elders at Ephesus. In verse 28, Paul says plainly that these overseers/elders were appointed by the Holy Spirit. I don't know that anyone would accuse these elders as being "never genuinely saved". Now, in verse 29, Paul warns them that as soon as he leaves, wolves will come in to spread false teachings. In verse 30, Paul says specifically that even among them (elders) some will join them in the deception. by this person's definition in the video, those who turned were "never saved", yet Paul says the Holy Spirit appointed them as elders. I don't know that anyone would accuse the Holy Spirit of placing a never saved person intentionally in the position of responsibility of an elder in a church congregation who was never saved. So, these once saved elders later turned to false doctrines, which means to abandon the faith. The person in this video's explanation would not hold true to this biblical example of saved people who turned away from the faith.
@@TheGreatSkull123 Let me be clear. The fact that someone departed from the truth does not mean even later that they cannot repent and come back to Christ and true gospel. The point I am making here is that if someone says a person who departs proves they were never saved to begin with, then the example in Acts 20 disproves that idea. So often, many (not all) who believe in OSAS will say your current behavior, actions and decisions prove that a person is not really saved, while on the other end saying faith alone is what saves. The passage in Acts 20 shows true genuinely saved people who were appointed by the Holy Spirit would later turn to false teachings and draw others away as well, which proves a truly once saved person CAN turn to false gospel teachings and become a false teacher themselves. The other concept is that if there is anything a person needs to do to be saved they are in essence “helping God”. Let me be clear. God does not need any of our help, and in that I think we agree. However, fulfilling a request from God in order to have something does not equate to us “helping God”. When Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, did God need the help of Abraham? Of course not. It was a test of obedience to test out Abraham’s faith. I believe in Jesus, but I believe in ALL of Jesus, not just some parts. His teachings included beautiful blessings and promises as well as warnings and teachings of how we will be hated by the world if we follow Him. I actually believe it is this kind of OSAS teaching that if you depart, you were never saved is truly an attack on assurance of salvation. You see, a non-osas believer would tell a person struggling with sin that they can trust God to help them overcome that sin, confess and repent from it. The OSAS person would say if a person is struggling with deep sin that they were never saved to begin with. So if a person genuinely placed their faith in Jesus in the past, and is presently struggling, they would question whether they ever got saved in the first place with such a teaching. That is a HUGE discouragement, and they may find themselves in despair feeling they can never make it. Yet a non-osas would tell the person simply this: “If you genuinely placed your faith in Christ, you were indeed saved at that point (Eph 2:8-9). Amen. However, you have fallen into grave sin, and are now a slave to sin again (Rom 6:16). But as scripture says, I am here to help lead you back to Christ and away from your error so your soul can be saved in the end (James 5:19-20). For Jesus said, it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved (Matt 10:22)” A person who believes in the kind of osas that believes if you fall into deep sin, it proves you were never saved in the first place, could only tell a person they were never really saved and your actions prove you were never a child of God in the first place. THAT is very cold, discouraging and makes you an accuser.
@@TheGreatSkull123 You said “try to disrupt the Gospel message and that even among their own group there will be people who APPEAR to be save” Where in scripture in Acts 20 do you find “appear” to be saved. Paul said plainly and directly that the Holy Spirit (not a man) selected them to be overseers. Do you really think the Holy Spirit will put an unbeliever into the position of overseer at the church? I would hope not. You say that is the context, but the context is supposed to INCLUDE the message you are sharing, and I don’t find that anywhere. Regarding Jude 1:24 about God is able to keep us from falling. It is a great promise, but not at the expense of skipping verse 20-21, which call for US to BUILD our faith and keep OURSELVES in the love of God. We cannot ignore the responsibility we are called to have here. I'll stop here and let you address these first so it doesn't get too long.
1 John 2:19 answers this argument pretty straightforward. "They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us." If you can leave the faith, you were never of it to begin with. I am sealed to the day of redemption. My sins, past, present AND future are paid for. I still ask forgiveness on a daily basis because I want to be in fellowship with God at all times, but that has to do with my quality of life on EARTH. That being said, what you do on this earth after you get saved will be brought under a microscope at the Judgement Seat of Christ and you will either have a greater reward or loss based on the fruit you produced. So, in essence, some will probably have bigger mansions than others.
Strefanasha If you read a few scriptures before and after 1 John 2:19 you'll see John is talking about people who perpetrated themselves as followers of the Way, but were actually unbelievers. 1 John 2:20-22 "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son." There are other scriptures that back up 1 John 2. Ephesians 4:30....sealed by the Holy Spirit...for one In regards to Hebrews 6:4-6, the key word in the passage is "if" in verse 6. Hebrews 6:6 "If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." The writer of Hebrews is setting up a hypothetical statement: “IF a Christian were to fall away . . .” The point being made is that it would be impossible (IF a Christian falls away) to renew salvation. That’s because Christ died once for sin (Hebrews 9:28), and if His sacrifice is insufficient, then there’s no hope at all.The passage, therefore, presents an argument based on a false premise (that a true Christian can fall away) and follows it to its senseless conclusion (that Jesus would have to be sacrificed again and again). The absurdity of the conclusion points up the impossibility of the original assumption.
Keep it in context. It is not saying what you are using it for. You are misleading people. "...even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." It is taking about anti-Christs. These are those who oppose Christ. Also, it says "that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us." NOT ALL... so it is not a principle. It is a statement that some were from them and some were not and we do not know by their leaving which were and which were not. So it direct contradicts what you said.

@@TheGreatSkull123 Consider also that the word for "predestined" only appears 6 times in the New Testament, 5 of those by Paul and 1 by Luke, Paul's traveling companion. None of the other authors of the New Testament, and especially not Jesus, ever use this idea. In addition, the word is completely and obviously mistranslated, based on a biased held in advance about the passage in which it appeared. I can prove this with a break down of the word. προορίζω comes from πρό + ὁρίζω πρό = fore ὁρίζω comes from ὅριον ὅριον = border, boundary, or limit ὁρίζω = to set a border, boundary, or limit So the term is to set a boundary for in advance. You can see it in operation in Romans 8:28 Ὅτι οὓς προέγνω, καὶ προώρισεν ... Because those whom he knows in advance and he sets boundaries for in advance ... The verbs are aorist tense, which is a timeless tense, which the timeless Present Perfect in English is to it. "I say" does not tell you when you say, now, yesterday, last week, but that you do it. The focus is on the action, not the time. This is how aorist works. Many translators translate aorist as past tense some of the time and anything else all other times. They refuse to translate it correctly, because they want it to reinforce their doctrine. I am a Linguist by my first profession and a theologian by my second. So I form my theology by what it says, not altering what it says to fit my theology. I suggest you pay heed to your doctrine so it conforms to the actual Testimony of God as it is actually written. Let go of the doctrines of men and embrace God's own Testimony.
"Once saved, always saved"? Here is Jesus' answer: "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off." ⚫ 2 Peter 2:20-22 If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning." "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." ⚫ Hebrews 10:26,27 delivers the same warning about returning to sin: "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."

Orthodox Therapy Of The Soul Fr C Moody I absolutely know that already but I'm not sure if Hank knows. He probably believes is the idiotic doctorine of original sin and Augustinian Manicheism.
Orthodox Therapy Of The Soul Fr C Moody grace of God appears to all men. Cain was told that he will rule over his sin. God isn't going to make you do it. Grace teaches us to put off all ungodliness. Grace is the holy Spirit and aide not an advocate to cover our sin. You have remission not a covering. Just as Paul says MAKE NO PROVISION for the flesh (corrupt Passions and desires) misuse of our energies.
Usually Works of the Law have more to do with the observance of the Law of Moses and seeking justification through that Law. Works of faith are probably more closely related to one example James gave in chapter two of his letter, when you see a brother in need of food and clothing, etc.
Could it be works of the law are done out of fear of punishment, works of faith are done out of love for Jesus? The prior is done by ones own efforts, the latter are done by Jesus through someone willing to allow Him to do His work in and through them, influencing them to do things that are pleasing to Him and helpful to others? The former is done by the flesh, the latter by the Spirit. The former is about the negative letter of the law and legalism, the latter is done via the positive summary of the law and prophets, the golden rule and is about being cheerful and enthusiastic in hope. What do you mean by original sin and what's your issue with sin as a covering besides the holy spirit as an advocate if they're are verses that refer to these things?
-The sting of sin is the law. -The law and sin are of the same tree (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil). -The law and sin, being of the same root, both lead to death (Separation from God). -We are cursed with the Adamic/self nature, and are metaphorically born of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the tree of "judging")... We are hardwired to break God's law, which means we naturally bare evil fruit, e.g. lie, steal, brag, drunkenness, lusts of all forms, jealousy, murder etc etc... And we are accordingly hardwired to perpetuate our Adamic/self godhood by producing good works (e.g. 'trying harder' to stop messing up, trying to read the Bible more, going to church more etc etc)... We produce"good fruit" out of ourselves attempting to justify for, compensate for or make up for our bad words & bad deeds... These are our 'good works of the law', and they are likewise sin in God's eyes. -The fruit of faith is produced by Jesus from within us (Our spirit man in Christ)... God deemed man only worthy of death, and that's why He crucified us WITH Jesus on the cross... We are spiritually dead to Father God, and it is only Jesus' shed blood that atones for us in God's eyes... When we invite Jesus into our lives, His Holy spirit unites with our spirit, and our spirit is grafted into Him... Our spirit is grafted into Jesus, and He is Vine... He is the Tree of Life... And as we abide in Him, we manifest all forms of His good fruit, including the fruit of faith. Misc- *The words 'male' & 'female' refer to physical gender in scripture... Each of us are male & female biologically speaking... Males having more testosterone, females having more estrogen. *The terms 'man' & 'husband' are sometimes referencing our 'Spirit' in scripture. *The terms 'woman' & 'wife' are sometimes referencing our soul in scripture. (Our soul is our mind, will, emotions & personality)... Our soul is born into the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (it is born cursed with the Adamic/self godhood nature), and God calls our soul to work out its salvation, meaning once Jesus unites with our Spirit, our soul life is to die to serving our Adamic nature and sinning (producing evil fruit) and then attempting to atone for ourselves by producing good fruit out of our Adamic nature (good works for the law). *When we abide in Him, we will mess up (sin), but it is Him holding us showing us ourselves, lovingly drawing out our impurity, and we are simply to ask forgiveness and return to abiding in Him... This is how we experientially come to know that Jesus is who He said He was... This is how we experientially come to know that He is NOT what the church system of man and the rest of the world says He is... And when our soul/woman/wife has yielded completely to to our spirit man in Christ/husband, this is the salvation of our soul... It is the entering into the fullness of the knowledge of Christ... It is being "Dead In Christ"... It is the marriage of our soul to Christ, consummating in the birthing of the ManChild from WithIn us... It is entering into the I AM... It is entering into oneness with Jesus, that He live uniquely through you in unabated fashion. *(Eve was Adam's woman/wife/soul, taken from deep within his essence, and given unto him as a helpmate). *Satan and Lucifer are two different individuals... Lucifer is the serpent who tempted Eve (Adam's soul) with the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil... Adam wanted to be like God, so she got the fruit for him, and he partook of it so he could, as the serpent said, become like God. *So, who is Satan? ... After the fall and being banished to earth, Adam's heart eventually grew so hard to God that he degenerated into the individual we refer to as Satan. *Adam was a physical hermaphrodite, and gave physical birth to Cain and Abel.
Hank discussed what is true salvation BUT Hank did not answer the question, is "Once saved, always saved" bibilical? He should have just come outright and say there is no biblical support for that belief other than allegorical or inferential. This means that there is really no basis of that belief. Quite the same interpretive method as the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, no biblical basis other than inferential or allegorical. In fact, there is more support for "Once Lost, Always Lost" . Read the following very explicit verses, ALL ADDRESSED TO CHRISTIANS: 2 Timothy 2:12 Hebrews 6:4-8 Hebrews 10:26-31 Hebrews 10:38 2 Peter 2:4-10 Furthermore, ALL of Christ's references to casting into outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth refer to "kingdom" people.
How did you come up with that conclusion? Yes, Jesus paid for the sins of the world with his blood. But only through belief, confession. and repentance will anybody’s sins be forgiven. All past sins are forgiven when someone first believes and repents. All future sins still require confession and a repentant heart through that same belief and faith we have in the Lord in order for God to forgive.
vinay If you believe in Jesus’ finished work on the cross, then you would understand about asking for forgiveness of sins, confessing sins, and repenting. What Jesus has done for you on the cross and his Spirit living in you would convict you of such things. All future sins still require confession and a repentant heart through that same belief and faith we have in the Lord in order for God to forgive."* This is not biblical, and this is work salvation. Working on your own righteousness cannot be part of salvation. And the distinction between past and future sins is never made in the context of salvation, *not biblical again.* . *"@Brenda C which means you have not believed Jesus Christ finished work on the cross."* Vinay is right. If you put something coming from your righteousness (repenting from sins) in the requirement for salvation, then you are confessing out loud that the blood of Christ is insufficient for your salvation ... . *"If you believe in Jesus’ finished work on the cross, then you would understand about asking for forgiveness of sins, confessing sins, and repenting. What Jesus has done for you on the cross and his Spirit living in you would convict you of such things."* Yes, and this is sanctification(discipleship) not salvation. if you loose salvation because you fail at being a good christian, then the gift from God wasn't really free, wasn't it? . *"Nowhere in the Bible does it ever say that if you think you can lose your salvation, then you aren’t saved."* neither is _'repenting from sins to be saved',_ but it doesn't prevent you from spreading the lie. And yes, if you first believed, then got your mind twisted up by some false teachers who told you you could loose the free gift by demerit, then you are still saved ofc. And yes it is not stated in the bible, it is a logical conclusion. -> *you want to pay (with your repentance from sins) for the free gift means you are refusing God's charity (grace).* . *"You teach a false doctrine that keeps people in their sins."* Never asked anyone to stay in their sins, and never encouraged it. However i always encourage people to stop trusting their own righteousness (repenting from sins) to be saved, since it makes them *reject* the free gift of salvation, by asking for a salary. jonas 3:10 _"And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way ..."_ *=> God sees repenting from sins as works.*
Nicolas Thank for you in-depth reply. Not too many people bother to respond like you did. So I do appreciate your time. 🔹Peter says that when we believed, our PAST SINS were paid for. “But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their PAST sins.” 2 Peter 1:9 🔹Just like believing has a definitive starting point, it can have an ending point too. Luke 8:13 says that some people for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. They fall away from belief. If you don’t believe, then you don’t have Christ, and you don’t have eternal life. 🔹Dead works are works that lead to death. Dead works are sins. If you don’t have a repentant heart, then you are storing up WRATH from God (Romans 2:5). Therefore, you must have repentance in order not to have God’s wrath. 🔹Jesus tells us (Believers) that when we pray to God we are to ask for forgiveness of our sins daily. (Mathew 6:11-12). James tells us that believer who sins and wanders from truth can be brought back and saved from death through repentance. James 5:19-20 James also says that when a believer sins he will be forgiven through prayer and confession. James 5:15-16 🔹No where in the Bible does it say that repenting from sins is a form of self-righteousness. When Jonah obeyed God and went to Nineveh and proclaimed, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overturned,” the people of Nineveh *BELIEVED* God. They showed their belief by their actions. They declared a fast, all of them, from the greatest to the least, and they put on sackcloth. They repented. It was only when God **SAW** what they **DID** and how they TURNED FROM THEIR EVIL WAYS, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened. (Jonah 3:4-10, Matthew 12:40-41). 🔹The free gift for salvation has always had contingencies on it. Even the ABC’s that many proclaim are needed for salvation are contingencies. The free gift is for those who believe, have faith, listen to the voice of Jesus, follow Jesus, and know Jesus (John 14:27). You don’t pay for the gift with your repentance, instead you BUY the truth and sell it not.
I'm struggling with this topic lately because when my kids were young they got saved by believing Jesus was the son of God, died for their sins, and raised from the dead, and they have been baptized. But as young adults now they're not living for the Lord. Thoughts????
I believe at some point and some more than others willfully sin. I also believe if in our hearts if we are sorry and ask God to forgive us he will do so, no matter how many times we sin. In other words 70x7 or, as many times as it takes.
This is false. This is the teaching of American Christianity, not the teaching of the Bible and certainly not the teaching of the early church fathers.
I am tired of arrogant self-righteous hypocrites, religious Pharisees, who go around teaching that salvation can be lost. Let me tell you something: If salvation could be lost, then we all lost it a long time ago, because we are all guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners. Do you understand that? Those who believe that salvation can be lost have a completely different mindset than the genuine born-again Christian. This is why I say confidently that the proponents of losing one's salvation are not saved. To the true believer, Christ is our only hope. In Jesus we rest completely for our righteousness, sanctification and eternal life. However, to the unbelieving person who thinks he or she can lose salvation by committing sin, they errantly think they have a key role in their own salvation. The entire false doctrine of losing one's salvation is firmly rooted in self-righteousness. Those who believe that salvation is lost when a believer willfully sins are calling God a liar, Who PROMISED eternal life before the world began (Titus 1:2). Romans 10:13 promises salvation to whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord. There is no added stipulation that a person must abstain from willfully sinning. Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the way, the truth and the life. The Scriptures couldn't be more clearer concerning this matter.
You are right. True salvation can't be "lost." But it can be forfeited or walked away from by one's own choosing. Free will doesn't go away when we are saved. We still have a choice.
@@StandUp777Jesus said all that the Father has given into His hands He will lose none except Judas who was a devil. I think if a person is truly born again they will not walk away from God because God will discipline the child of God to bring correction. If there is no discipline then they are illegitimate children.
Baptism is done in obedience to God as a public showing of your faith. It is not a requirement for salvation, but is done after you are saved. Much like how a wedding ring is a symbol of your marriage, it isn't your marriage, nor is it required in order to be married.
Part of a tract put out by Catholic answers: "The Lord himself affirms that baptism is necessary for salvation [John 3:5]. . . . Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament [Mark 16:16]" (CCC 1257). and Yet Christians have also always realized that the necessity of water baptism is a normative rather than an absolute necessity. There are exceptions to water baptism: It is possible to be saved through "baptism of blood," martyrdom for Christ, or through "baptism of desire", that is, an explicit or even implicit desire for baptism.
You are so right. In those verses we read of folks who are trying to be justified by their works and Jesus says, "I never knew you." He didn't know them at one time and now He doesn't. He says, they were never saved. Of course their argument was, "We did this and we did that in Your Name." Jesus is telling them their works won't get them into the Kingdom of Heaven. He says, "Whoever does My Father's will." What is His will? John 6:40, "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." I think you're right, that passage among others answers this pretty clearly. There are also many other passages on eternal security, salvation by faith, etc. Thanks for sharing.
@@martin9410 U r mistaken These have been fulfilled John 6:37-39 37 All whom the Father gives Me will come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will never cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.39 This is the will of the Father who has sent Me, that of all whom He has given Me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. John 10 27-29 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John 17:12 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. I have kept those whom You have given Me. And none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. Now lets look at John 18 and we can see they have been fulfilled already John 18:8-9 8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He. So then let these go their way if you are looking for Me.” 9 This was to fulfill the word which He had spoken, “I have lost none of those whom You have given Me. If you examine these 3 passages, they all speak about the “ones given by the Father”. A common mistake is to assume this speaks of the church today. Look at what happens when Jesus was arrested in 18:8-9. It seems the soldiers were going to arrest the disciples too, but Jesus asked they let the disciples go. John wrote in verse 9 that this was done to FULFILL the word “I have lost none…”. By ensuring the disciples were safe, Jesus fulfilled His word that all of them were not lost. Thus, this closes the works in the other 2 passages since Jesus fulfilled His word in making sure they were not killed. As this was fulfilled back then, it has no application to the church today.
Aaron Michael You’ve made a common mistake by not considering the context of each passage carefully. In John 6, it is obvious that Jesus is addressing the crowd that followed Him, but certainly it is true the last passage you used prior to Jesus’ arrest does relate as Jesus stated it did. Why are you so afraid of the eternal security that Jesus insured with His sacrifice and resurrection? You are suggesting that Jesus’ sacrifice was enough to get us saved, but not enough to keep us saved? How can your faithfulness and works improve upon what Jesus has already done? Is eternal life a gift or a salary? Is eternal life something that is given or something that you earn? Name one work that you can do better than Jesus to insure your eternal future. John 5:24 is very clear that once someone truly believes and is born from above, that they will not be judged and have “already passed from death to life.” God is no respecter of persons when it comes to eternal life. His eternal guarantee of one’s redemption being sealed by the Holy Spirit is for all who come to Him.
D. L. Starkey That is an incorrect assumption. Matthew 7:21-23 tells us why those people were not let into the Kingdom and why Jesus never knew them. It is explicitly stated for us. We don’t need to make the text say more than it does. “depart from me, ye that work *INIQUITY* .” - Greek world: anomia anomia: lawlessness Original Word: ἀνομία, ας, ἡ Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine Transliteration: anomia Phonetic Spelling: (an-om-ee'-ah) Definition: lawlessness Usage: lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin. So while these people profess Lord and do many wonderful works, they still practice SIN; they don’t do the will of the Father (verse 21) which includes many, many things. Jesus doesn’t *KNOW* these people because they don’t keep his commands. John 10:17, tells us that his sheep hear his voice, he KNOWS them, and they follow him. 1 John 3:6 also tells us, “ No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or KNOWN him.”
@@martin9410 "How can your faithfulness and works improve upon what Jesus has already done?" The dichotomy between Faith and Works is false since to believe is Work for the Ego just as much as anything else. The point is that the Ego cannot verb its way to Grace. If you can believe your way to salvation, then, lo and behold, there IS something you can do - ie Works - to get salvation: I believe->salvation, I stop believing-> salvations stops, I start believing again->salvation is restarted. "Name one work that you can do better than Jesus to insure your eternal future." God opened the door with his Grace, you have to go through it - that entails lots of Works and Faith.
Saved or not? Did Jesus save you? Or are you going to work for your salvation all of your life to keep it? You are saved once you believe. Those who fall away. Never believed. Even though they partook in the truth. They are among believers. But never believed.
If OSAS is true and one can never lose their salvation once they are saved/born again, then the apostles and the millions of people over the centuries did not know it. They all died terrible deaths for Christ for no reason. They could have just renounced Jesus when they were threatened, saved their lives in the moment of distress, gone away to safety, and then continued their beliefs and their ministries later. Jesus could have prevented a lot of needless deaths by just telling people to deny Him when threatened and then go back to worshipping Him when it was safe again to do so. If one could never lose their salvation once saved, then one could deny being a Christian when their life, job, or anything else was threatened. So if OSAS is true then millions of Christians suffered and died terrible deaths for their faith and they did not need to.
John 3:3 Jesus said to get to Heaven a person must be "Born Again" first physically then spiritually. A person can not go back and be unborn physically. And if a person is born again they can not go back a be unborn spiritually. IMPOSSIBLE.
Actually the parable of the sower doesn't say so. Let's look at one of the parallel passages in Luke 8:11-15 "11 “Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. 12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. 15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance." First, the only time salvation is even mentioned is regarding the first soil: "...so they will not believe and be saved." This not only tells us they're not saved, but tells us why, "because they will not believe." The second soil are those who "receive the word with joy," but drift away because of temptation. Notice there is no mention of salvation like with the first soil. Their salvation isn't being discussed, but their fruitfulness, maturity and shallowness is being discussed. The third soil are those who allow themselves to be overcome with the "worries and riches and pleasures of this life." And notice what Jesus says about them, they "bring no fruit to maturity." Salvation is not the topic but rather fruitfulness. Then we get to the last soil and they are bearing "fruit with perseverance." Other passages speak of 30 fold , etc. So this parable doesn't say that one can lose their salvation at all. This is more a parable about the different types of soil, their response to the Gospel and their fruitfulness or lack thereof. This is probably why Jesus uses the example of the soil, which implies fruit bearing.
And where do you read in the Bible that a person cannot be unborn again? You cannot backread onto the passage of a parable from further principles in the analogy and put words into the Lord's mouth. I would stiffly caution you against that. This is exactly how doctrine's of men are created in the first place, even if you are a woman, perhaps.
He can not save and then unsave? You are making up your own ideas. Our full salvation does not even come until he appears a second time to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him (Hebrews 9:29). He who stands firm until the end shall be saved (Mathew 10:22).
Rev 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Rev 3:5 has a condition attached to it. The condition is (He that overcometh). Rev 3:5 is telling us plainly that we are to overcome. If we don't overcome our names can be blotted out of the book of life. Think about it, your name could not be blotted out of the book of life unless it was in there in the first place right? Therefor the logical conclusion would be that even if your name is in the book of life it can absolutely be blotted out. So (ONCE SAVED IS (NOT) ALWAYS SAVED). Mat 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. If the fight is over once we except Jesus as Lord and savior, why is Mat 10 22 telling us that we must endure to the end? It's because the fight isn't over until we either die, or Jesus comes back. This is why we must (endure to the end). If the above verses are not enough for you, 1 Ti 4:1 says it all... 1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Did you catch that? Ti 4:1 says that (SOME SHALL DEPART FROM THE FAITH). It doesn't get any clearer than this. A person could not depart from the faith it they didn't have it in the first place now could they? Due to a persons free will, they could except Jesus at one point in their lives and then reject him at another point in their lives. I personally know people who have done this. They were Christians at one point but have walked away from the faith by their own free will. So you could not say that these people were never really saved because 1Ti 4:1 says that these people depart from the faith, which implies that they were already saved at some point. Again... (ONCE SAVED IS (NOT) ALWAYS SAVED). Remember this... Our free will is never out of play. God will never force anyone to be with him if they don't want to be. So to sum up... We must (endure to the end) because (some shall depart from the faith) causing their names to be (blotted out of the book of life) just like the bible says.
Slikk You take Scripture out of context. Did works save you? Seriously, did WORKS save you?? Then how do you believe that works can KEEP you saved? It was a gift of God. His Grace, through simple childlike faith in Jesus Christ alone. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1 John 5:13 KJV www.bible.com/1/1jn.5.13.kjv
@ MLuff 1611 Yes, it's through His Grace that we are saved. That does not eliminate our free will though. It's true, he will never walk away from us, but we could still walk away from Him if we chose to. Once again... Our free will is never out of play. That said, I can't understand why any Christian would run the risk of leading someone astray with this dangerous (OSAS) doctrine. If you think it doesn't matter how you live, take a look at these verses... Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. You realize that the people referred to in Mat 7:22 and Mat 7:23 thought they were saved don't you? The wicked could care less about doing anything in the name of the Lord. So yes, these people thought they were good to go. But Jesus tells them to depart from Him. Why? Because they work iniquity. 1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. You can ignore these verses if you want, but there are several verses in the bible that tell us to keep God's commandments. Hbr 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, How clear do you need it to be? Hbr 10:26 is telling us plain as day, the sacrifice no longer remains for those who continue to sin willfully. It's really very simple. It's through Jesus Christ that any of us are saved. And right out of the mouth of Jesus Himself, He tells us all... Jhn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Slikk Matt 7:22-23. Jesus says “I NEVER knew you”....not, “I once knew you, when you trusted and believed in Me, but then you screwed up and backslid and now I don’t know you.” The Lord Jesus Christ says.... “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH everlasting life, and SHALL NOT come into condemnation; but is PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE.” John 5:24 KJV HATH = PRESENT TENSE PASSED = PAST TENSE www.bible.com/1/jhn.5.24.kjv Being saved by His amazing grace through faith is a GIFT. It’s NOT earned, you can’t work for it, you can’t pay for it, you can choose to accept it or reject it. The willful sin in Hebrews 10 is a specific sin to a specific audience of Hebrews/Jewish converts to Christianity and potential-converts (hence the title HEBREWS). Whomever the author of Hebrews is, was giving a warning to these new Jewish converts...(WHO WERE SERIOUSLY CONTEMPLATING GOING BACK TO THE TEMPLE SYSTEM OF ANIMAL SACRIFICES), ...not to go there, because if they do, there remains no more sacrifice for sin because the OLD COVENANT AND ITS ANIMAL SACRIFICES are done away with, gone, goodbye, adios...the new covenant is here and in full effect. By going back to animal sacrifices, they would trample our Lord and Savior under their feet and put Him to an open shame, and besides, they’re utterly worthless because those sacrifices were done away. Only faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice is acceptable for the forgiveness of sins. You say that we must “overcome”, the Bible says we must “overcome”....here it is explained who “overcomes”... “Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that BELIEVETH that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:5 KJV www.bible.com/1/1jn.5.5.kjv “He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” 1 John 5:10-14 KJV www.bible.com/1/1jn.5.10-14.kjv You may KNOW you have eternal life. If you are passed from death unto life, then how can you go back to death from life? Works can’t save you... “What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.” Romans 4:1-8 KJV www.bible.com/1/rom.4.1-8.kjv Sin ONE TIME, you’ve broken the ENTIRE LAW “But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. Did you fail to witness to a homeless guy on the sidewalk today? Did you share the Gospel today? Any lustful thoughts? Did you have any bias or respecter of persons towards any person who didn’t look like you or an unclean, poor homeless person? Guess what??!! Even your righteous deeds are filthy rags to the Lord? “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6 KJV www.bible.com/1/isa.64.6.kjv There IS NO ONE RIGHTEOUS, we have all sinned. Jesus Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:10-23 KJV www.bible.com/1/rom.3.10-23.kjv
@ MLuff 1611: It sounds like you are really trying hard to ignore key parts of Mat 7:22 and 7:23 to fit your agenda. I’ll try to help you understand these verses… Mat 7:22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord”… Notice that the people in this verse are referring to Jesus as (Lord). This would have to be people who consider themselves to be saved. Mat 7:22 “have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works”? Notice that these people claim to have done all these works (in the name of Jesus). Again... This is something only people claiming to be saved would say. Mat 7:23 “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you”:… What Jesus is saying here is that although these people are (claiming Jesus to be Lord), in reality, (these people do evil). How do we know this? It says it right in the next part of the verse… Mat 7:23 "depart from me, ye that work iniquity". 1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Moral of the story… You can say the magic words all you want, but we will all be known by our fruits. Do you not know that faith without works is dead? Jam 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, beingalone. Jam 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Jam 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. Jam 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Jam 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Jam 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? Jam 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Jam 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Jam 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent [them] out another way? Jam 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. The (OSAS) doctrine tickles the ears of lazy Christians who can’t be bothered to fight the good fight. Sure, they'll take the justification part of this in a heart beat, but when it comes to the sanctification part of this that tells us to repent and walk away from our sins, they'll act as if that part doesn't exist. So if you want to believe in this false/dead (OSAS) doctrine go right ahead. As for me, I’m just trying to help keep someone else from making the same mistake you are making. Jhn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. There is no way to spin this verse to make it say anything other than what it says. I don’t see how any Christian in their right mind can argue against this. To anyone else who might be reading this... Jesus says to us all… If you love me, keep my commandments. And anyone telling you that you are (NOT) to keep His commandments is either in grave error or purposely trying to lead you astray.
Slikk I say this in love...truly....you are calling God a liar. You are saying that Grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone is NOT enough to save, to redeem. That the blood of the cross isn’t sufficient, it takes OUR own works, our merit, our efforts to save us or to keep us saved. You must be one miserable dude, with no security in his salvation, always wondering if you’re doing ALL that you can to “stay in good graces”...ALL that you can to do the works, gotta work, gotta keep on working to prove to those “Christians who don’t work as much as ME” that I’m a real, true blue Christian. You’re a Pharisee. You yourself are depending on your works (the Law) to save you or keep you saved. Those “Christians” who said “Lord, Lord” and were rejected all depended on their WORKS (hmm, sounds like you)...they had a knowledge of the Lord but didn’t rely on Grace through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE...they all relied on WORKS, read it again. The James 2 “faith without works is dead” reference is referring to Christians being justified in front of other Christians or other people by the works they do that shows their faith. If you say you’re a Christian but don’t go see your Mom in the nursing home, your faith is dead in front of other people. The whole context of the entire chapter is to show your faith to others by your works! James is not saying that unless you have works, you aren’t saved! Look at verses 15 and 16...James is saying to do something for others to show your faith. Look at vs 23, Abraham’s faith was counted for righteousness (Abraham is saved by faith alone) but through his work, he is “justified” in the sight of others and shows the world the faith that is inside of his heart and mind. I used to be like you. The Lord’s blessings upon you and your family. Romans 15:13
At 6:16 Hank says, “I have an ABSOLUTE ASSURANCE that I will never walk away from the Lord.” Is this Orthodox teaching?? If so, please provide references that show this is the Orthodox position.
faithofourfathers there is no absolute assurance we are working out our salvation, we must finish the race, we won't know for sure until we meet Jesus. Always have a healthy fear of the Lord, repenting always, dieing to self every day.
Then why did Christ CHOOSE him IN THE FIRST PLACE? Furthermore, coming up with clever Biblical-Bromides is ONE thing--taking a CLOSE INTROSPECTIVE look at God's WORD--QUITE ANOTHER. The New T. says Judas was, "ONE OF THE TWELVE." Ok, is God PLAYING with our MINDS here? Or does He MEAN PRECISELY what He SAYS? John "one of the 12," Paul was "one of the 12," Peter was one of the 12." I could go ON, but I think you get the idea. Also, scripture CLEARLY states that Judas was AMONG THEM! So, once again, does God MINCE words--does He PLAY with our HEADS? I think NOT! So what does AMONG THEM really MEAN? Was Judas merely HANGING OUT with Jesus, and the Apostles to watch and see what marvelous miracles might happen NEXT? New T. scripture even makes it clear that Judas even TOOK PART in those very same MIRACLES!! Wow!!! So, how could he DO that? You HAVE to be IN THE SPIRIT to DO that!! Look what happened to the 7 sons of Sceva! Judas was ACCOUNTABLE--he KNEW who Christ WAS! He was ACCOUNTABLE, and THAT's where you guys DROP THE BALL!! It isn't about "ONCE SAVED--ALWAYS SAVED," it's about, does God consider them ACCOUNTABLE by what they KNEW, and were TAUGHT!! Besides, do you NOT KNOW, that a person can start out well, but LOSE their love. Look at Lucifer. Was he not PERFECT in ALL HIS WAYS? So...what HAPPENED? Why did God ALLOW...? Read Ps. 41: 9; and Ps. 55:12. If you understand ANYTHING about CONTEXT, you would KNOW that, One: These two verses are PROPHETIC revelations about Judas; and TWO: They CLEARLY portray Judas as a DEAR FRIEND of Christ. There was an OBVIOUS TENDERNESS in their relationship. It's all TOO EASY for you to say--in light of what Judas wound up doing--that he NEVER had ANY REAL SPIRITUAL relationship WITH Christ. THAT, my friend is HIGHLY PRESUMPTUOUS!! It is ALSO BAD theology.
@JaimeCunanan-vn1eh Hank stresses that authentic Christianity is more than just an event or moment; rather, it is a relationship with God through Christ according to the power of the Holy Spirit. Not a proposition or deal but a relationship. Vladimir Lossky puts it this way: “After the Fall, human history is a long shipwreck awaiting rescue: but the port of salvation is not the goal; it is the possibility for the shipwrecked to resume his journey whose sole goal is union with God.”
@@BibleAnswerMan Once saved always saved ( that is, once born again of The Holy Spirit and the word ) always saved - is the true Gospel which satan does not want people to know - Arminianism is as false as it's twin sister deception of Calvinism. There is one Gospel and it includes OSAS.
We all experience life in a sinful and fallen world, which manifest in bouts of depression. Depression comes in a variety of ways and intensities. No simple answers. No one can guarantee they will never fall away. “If we are faithless He is faithful for He cannot deny Himself. “Take heed when we think we stand…”. The best I can say is as John 3:16 states I Believe. How that plays out to some may not meet what they believe the expectations are. The Corinthians were called brethren and were a mess. Also what I know about a person and their upbringing and life story is a microcosm of their story. As Hank rightly says “only God knows” but I have a sneaking suspicion that many who will be there may have seemed in this life not headed there.
I believe on once saved always saved, but o believe the doctrine of salvation has been so butchered it's hard for some to get past what they've been taught by man to allow God to teach them. The born again Christian is so in awe by his sacrifice that they follow Him yes they stumble but God lifts them up again and they keep walking. That's sanctification. little children let no man deceive you he who practices righteousness is righteous even as he is righteous he who practices sin is of the devil. The false convert takes grace and uses it for wickedness.
The scripture talks of being saved. Eternally. But those who reject it. Think you are saying you can just sin. So they are about working for their salvation. And they never rest in Jesus.

I’m very familiar with Hank. I’ve been listening to him on the Bible Answer Man program since 1989. I have alot of respect for what he does and his opinions on things. I posted a link to one of Brother Nathanael’s UA-cam videos where he refutes Ben Shapiro. Brother Nathanael grew up as a Jew in Judaism and converted to the Russian Orthodox Church as an adult.
Jesus, being God, knew the end from the beginning. I find it amazing that people think that because Jesus "fell away" in the end, that he didn't have a valid love for Jesus in the beginning. We are prohibited from judging men's souls. That is uniquely the province of God alone. If you look at the parable of the soils, we are told that the people who were "rocky soil" or had "weeds" were people who responded positively to the gosple, but then fell away. God never removes the free will of man - I am always free to choose throughout my lifetime - for good or for evil. Once saved, always saved is a heresy that has no place in Christianity. Those who persevere to the end will be saved. (Matthew 24:13). And the state of that man will be worse that at first. (Matthew 12:43-45)
The more this debate goes on the more I'm leaning toward Calvinism instead of the Calminian I am. Those who have a hard time with the thought of eternal security are those who have a hard time with the total depravity of mankind; thinking they still must add works to their faith. Going exactly against what Paul wrote in Ephesians 2. Guess it's time to watch more Dr. James White videos.
David Hall Does not James White believe that God did not only allow Adam and Eve to sin but He made them sin because He wanted sin to come into our world ? Does James White not believe that God not only allow the Holocaust to happen but He made it happen ? Does He not believe that God has arbitrarily predestined some people to heaven and others to hell so that people can not choose if they want to worship God or not ? The god that James White believes in is an evil psychopath.
Even with all the debates, we still have to admit that like Hank says only the Lord knows the heart. Also, God's children will always bear fruit and thats the hallmark of the Christian life. Those who fall away may have truly been grafted in and the rejected God, I happen to believe that God keeps all of His own and that those who fall away were only partaking of the truth on an external level.
@@tsunadesenju5856 if by OSAS you mean repentance and a transformed lifestyle doesn't follow naturally.. Then no I do not. If by OSAS you mean the perseverance of the Saints... Then yes, God keeps all of His children until the end and will transform them into the image of Jesus over time.
To say you can never reject Christ after salvation is absurd. The bible also talks of a great falling away. You can't fall away from something you were never part of. We don't lose free will when we say a prayer for salvation. We must endure to the end to be saved or Jesus will erase our name out of the book if life. So much for the idea that those who fall away were never REALLY saved. Even if that were the case, then that just means none of us will know if we're really saved until the end.
Jesus knew what Judas was going to do. He whispered into Judas ear and told him go do it that it was something that had to happen. I have a hard time disliking him. I was baptized at 8 months old but I stayed pretty well on the path of God that the Protestant Church gave me. Then I decided I needed to be Catholic because I needed more well Catholicism wasn't it! My degrees are in medicine and science but also in ancient Christianity and ancient religions. I learned that the Orthodox Church was the True Church of Jesus Christ. It was also the only judge that was able to explain the Trinity to me because I had a problem with the trinity and I think many people do. It is a big concept to grasp but I have it now! :-). May God bless you and yours. Christ is risen!
"If they fall away" is a statement that I have some confusion over. Does this mean if someone turns away and actually stops believing in Jesus as our only hope for salvation and towards something else, as in the case of someone who then becomes perhaps a Buddhist or an atheist, or does it mean to go back into a life of sin even if they still claim to believe that He's Messiah? The example of the thief on the cross (Luke @) makes some of these things even more difficult to understand. If we can lose our salvation then that thief seems to be one fortunate person as he died very shortly after Jesus told him he'd be with Him in paradise. I worry to no end because I backslid for a protracted period but have whole heartedly repented. I long to be with Him and in obedience to Him. You'll just have to take my word for it that it's a legitimate longing. Quite a few years back actually. Still, it haunts me.
Neuro Mancer, I hear you!!! I backside big time for a while & worry about it. But God, I believe, sometimes allows us to go our own way so we can truly see our sin & he can begin to chisel out those places we may not have even realized were there. Only then was I truly able to grieve my sin & move to repent. He always knew I was going to do this & I truly believe I’ve had a genuine faith relationship with Him. As Hank said...only God knows the heart. Blessings to you!
@@kellynewquist5105 I don't think I ever got a notification that you replied to this! "Only then was I truly able to grieve my sin & move to repent" - yes indeed! It's a profound grief and regret over it. I don't ever want to live like that again. Even when I think it's too late and "it is impossible to be renewed to repentance" I think to myself 'I _still_ don't want to live like that!' . It's quite a quandary to be in. Bless you in Him, Kelly!
The thief on the cross is easy to answer. Jesus was/is God while on earth, born UNDER THE LAW and had power to forgive sins. The thief on the cross was under the Law and was far from the ONLY person with whom Jesus forgave sin. The New Testament wasn't in effect until AFTER the Testator dies, Hebrews 9:16-17. Everyone after the beginning of the church falls under the doctrine of the Apostles, Acts 2:42 which is the teachings of the church of Christ.
Are baby dedication biblically Mandatory ? When my child was born my wife , some close family and myself prayed for wisdom and guidance in training up our child in the fear of the Lord and we told God for His will be done over our child's life etc. Now leaders are telling me i must stand in front of the other members in my fellowship , and have the elder hold the baby and do it all over again or else it doesn't count . What are your thoughts ?
It is a good thing that you have a Christian family to pray and encourage you and your wife in raising your child in the wisdom of the Lord. There is nothing wrong with even the church you attend to be open to doing a church baby dedication and many find this to be a valuable tradition. There is no explicit scriptural mandate whereby Christians must perform baby dedications; however, there are scriptural elements being conveyed in these dedications. The parents of many denominational and non-denominational churches today publicly dedicate their children to the Lord by virtue of the fact that they want their children to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. In their understanding, dedicating their children to the Lord is tantamount to professing a commitment before God and the church that they will raise their children in the fear and nurture of the Lord (e.g., Deut. 11:18-21; 32:46; Prov. 22:6; Isa. 38:19; Eph. 6:4; 2 Tim. 3:14-15). In this sense, parents, their children, and the body of Christ are potentially benefited. Thus, while not necessarily supported by Scripture, baby dedications may be viewed as glorifying God. Blessings.
Trust in Jesus, the Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6) ...Trust not in the teachings of men. Only Jesus, the perfect man, died for your sins. Believe on Him and trust in Him as your Lord and Savior and you will be saved. Read the Bible, ....start with the Gospel of John. You will be blessed IF you humble yourself before Him and trust in Him alone.
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. John 15:5-6

Backsliding doesn’t mean you lost your salvation. It just means you’re going back but God will draw his people to repentance. He will discipline and correct those he loves. Suffering may be apart of your correction. If Jesus couldn’t keep you I don’t think he would have been sent to save you in the first place. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit.
Kiki, the sower threw seeds on four types of soils. Three initially accepted, then they apostated until death. had each individual been struck by a lighting, slipped fell broke a neck and died, or died with a heart attack immediately after believing and before they renege the Lord they would have gone to heaven. We were instructed by the Lord in his prayer to ask "lead us not into temptation" with temptation comes a trial that may lead to hell. If we are confident in our salvation we should pray, "lead even force us in all temptations" haven't you heard the verse," he who persevere until the ends is saved"?
Mike Shenouda God’s elect people have been predestined to be with him. The elect people can not be deceived or lose their salvation. Tasting of the heavenly gift is different from being filled with the spirit. I agree that we are to keep ourselves from singing, but we all will commit a sin from time to time. We have an advocate with the Father who is Jesus Christ. I will never believe that I can lose my salvation.
Kiki, Thank you for referring to suffering and chastising as a way to correct one's behavior. It is a gift. But not everyone is given this gift, Judas wasn't. Salvation is a opportunity of God who "Wants all to be saved, and to the knowledge of the truth approach." If salvation is a predestination, then God is not just to not have predestined Judas and all of those in hell . Haven't you read the verse, "continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling" Philippians 2:12. fear and trembling of what, other than of going to hell? Someone might lose his love and fall and finally God might take his place if/when that person does not repent which is possible. Revelation 2:4-6 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. Rev 2:26 To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end. This meas that someone may start but never finish and falter. You also said that a believer can never be fooled. Does that mean that Judas was planning to deny Christ and go to hell well in advance? If you ask me, I would say he was sure that he was one among the elect, working miracles, one that would not perish. He was fooled by demons to think so. Of the many people that go to church, read the bible and pray regularly, how many of them are fooled into being saved, then after death they go to hell. Also the parable of the sower shows three types of people that would apostate. Had they been lucky and died with a heart attack after they believed, they would have been saved. But as time went by, some stopped caring shortly after believing, others thought of the world's pleasures, cares and lusts, while the last group could not handle persecution and they apostated, with all three groups perishing
Judas was predestined to do what he did. When Jesus went to hell and preached to the lost souls could Judas have been one of those lost souls? I don’t know. God said he made some vessels for honor and some for dishonor. Saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Spirit does not lead to losing your salvation.
@@KMac-qi9qk Google, "there is no partiality with God" some might translate it to "favoritism". Why didn't god predestine John the Baptist to betray Him while Judas to be the highest one among those born of women? They are both homosapiens made from dust off the earth, how did God decide to descriminate against one dust while favor the other? Did He flip a coin? It was freedom of choice that he foreknew and used for his plan of salvation He even called Judas "friend" to lead him to repentance. You also have not addressed the biblical case of apostacy as in the parable of the sower
While there are many verses to make one believe in that doctrine but I feel if you turn away and stay away, yes, you can lose your salvation. I think the Shepherd is calling but you need to respond.
So once you are born of God (eternal spirit) after salvation then the eternal spirit dies ? Meaning a loss of salvation….remember no one receives eternal physical life however salvation grants us eternal spiritual life or is it temporary spiritual life or probationary spiritual life until you pass the test at the end of physical life……?🎉🎉🎉
@@downbythesea1071 the eternal spirit? Our spirit should be eternal but to just go to the verses used by people who believe Once Saved Always Saved doesn’t work for me. Did Jesus not teach on the lost sheep. That He would come looking? It’s a deep subject and personally once you start thinking about all the ramifications, I tend to look back at myself. What does the Word say? You work out your salvation with fear and trembling. It never says you work out other peoples salvation. For example, people who say they lost faith. I tend to think they never had real faith. So perhaps you’re right. I’m not saying I’m right about losing salvation. I just know it really doesn’t matter. We sow and water. God reaps the harvest. Most doctrine is meaningless regarding your salvation. There are perhaps 15 theories on the atonement but in the Bible it says believe with your heart and proclaim with your mouth. Shalom
@@michaelbrickley2443 yes he does go look for his sheep and none are lost have you forgot the part where he says he will lose none that the father brings him. You cannot use indirect language to contract direct language of the gospel just because it doesn’t work for you. What you want is irrelevant, no matter what you say or do you cannot and will not ever be able to save yourself. You misunderstand the nature of sin and the nature of redemption. No one ever keeps the law if you miss it in one point you break all of the law, he who says he is without sin is a liar. What you are doing is reducing the standard of righteousness by cherry picking sins. 1 sin sends you to hell without redemption period. We are not under the law we move into the law of faith. Also Eternal spiritual life is not automatic you are conflating eternal existence with eternal life. Again your physical life is condemned period because sin dwells in it stop mixing everything into 1 doctrine you need to learn to rightly divide the word of God, stop appealing to your self righteousness and put your full trust in his righteousness. You really do not understand grace btw it is not once saved always saved it is conditional salvation versus unconditional salvation. Eternal life does not end therefore cannot be lost, don’t miss that.
Hank addresses your question in this video… ua-cam.com/video/bA292mab_7o/v-deo.html See also the following articles… www.equip.org/bible_answers/how-can-i-be-certain-that-ive-not-committed-the-unforgivable-sin/ www.equip.org/articles/what-is-the-unpardonable-sin/
Can't make the mistake of ignoring the two natures of the believer. Our "natural bodies" have a natural inclination to sin. The "good work" Christ began in us is a *spiritual* work, having nothing to do with our flesh (John 3:6, 6:63)! The good work will be completed in our physical body when Christ returns for His Church (1 Cor. 15:42-54). Judging who is or isn't saved is not our job, preaching the *truth* of the gospel of Christ is! We are given no direction to make any determination of who is saved and who isn't. It's impossible to make that determination based on the actions of corruptible flesh! Believers are told in 2 Peter 1:1-11 we must "add" to our faith or we could possibly be "barren" or "unfruitful", and may even forget we were "purged" of our sins (vs8-9). That passage should prove to anyone we cannot judge who is saved based on the actions of the flesh! John tells us we can *know* we're saved if we have believed the record God gave of His Son, not by making observations of corrupted flesh (1 John 5:10-13). The confidence of our salvation is based on God's Word, not corruptible flesh.
2 Peter 2:20-22 (ESV): 20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.” John 15:2, 6: “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit." 6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned" (
This is what I was taught about this message Jesus gave here in and around John 15:4 and supported by other Bible passages . To abide in Christ is a cleaving to Him, in love. It is a holding fast to Him in trusting obedience. It is believing the truth of His Word with an unshakable assurance. It is a steadfast confidence that His word is true and His promises are sure. If we are to abide in Him, we will adhere to Him in every way - we will be united with Him in mind and motives; resting in His gracious love; abiding in the arms of the beloved Son of God - and having a deep, trusting dependence on Him, in every area of life. The love that Christ has for each one of His children is compared with the mutual love that God the Father has towards His dearly beloved Son. Such a thought staggers the imagination - that Christ loves each one of us as dearly as the Father loves Him - and the Father loves each of His blood-bought children with the same depth of love that He has for His only Begotten Son. The astonishing truth that Jesus shared with His disciples on that day should affect each one of our lives. Christ's teaching was to those who believe in Him - those who were saved by grace through faith in Him. This was not a teaching for the unbeliever, but a warning to those that are born-again, that if we are to be fruitful in our Christian life and honour our Father in heaven, we will abide in Christ and bring forth much fruit. If a Christian fails to abide in Christ, he will live a defeated life and suffer loss of reward, in the ages to come - saved, yet as though by fire. But if a Christian obeys Christ's command to abide in Him and He in us, he will bring forth much fruit - 10-fold, 50-fold and maybe 100-fold, and he will hear Jesus say, well-done good and faithful servant. To abide in Christ and to rest in His love is to know, with absolute certainty, that He alone is life’s sufficiency and to act on this knowledge. To abide in Him is to recognise that without Him we can do nothing, because all the grace and nourishment, refreshment and strength we need, comes from His bountiful supply. Wonderful though “abiding in Him” is to the believer, it is only half of the equation, for as we rest and abide and remain in Him, so He abides in us. As our hearts cleave closely to Him and our minds are flooded with His beauty, so His Spirit abides within each one of us, teaching and training, leading and guiding, helping and comforting with an ever-increasing intimacy, as we grow in His grace and in a knowledge of our precious Saviour. Let us seek to rest in His love and abide in Him, moment by moment and day by day, for He will take each burden and all the pain of life and provide for each of us, the wisdom and strength we need to face the future, until abiding in Him and He in us becomes as natural as breathing.
Hank, it would seem missed a couple vital laws. 1st we honor YHVH by keeping shabbat. And 2, we are commanded to take in the stranger freezing in the street. And to visit those who have been in prison too long. But on this topic he is very close to correctomungo!
King Solomon turned away from the Lord and built altars and performed sacrifices to other gods. Other OT characters also turned from God. Anyone seeking evidence of Solomon’s faith at that time would not have seen any evidence and would have labelled him unsaved. Solomon is the wisest man that ever lived and he is definitely in heaven. Evidence of salvation is backdoor works based salvation, it’s heresy.
don't believe that once saved always saved lie from the pit of Hell. Jesus gave a perfect example when he said it was ten virgins consecrated and set aside and only five we're allowed to be with him for eternity and that's because the other five chose not to pursue the spiritual intercourse that is required if you want to be with Jesus
Amen, Wild Bill, well said. Jesus warned: "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He [a]takes away, and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Jesus said every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away. Clearly, believers can be removed for disobedience and not abiding. Your spirit is renewed when you believe the gospel but your soul must go through sanctification through continual faith. We must bear fruit.
Judas was not saved never was This man proves why we walk by faith not by sight... Why we go by what God's word says... Only thing mr Hanegraaff does is add a bunch of words to correct God's word 🤦🏾♂️

Do not be deceived. The cross is heavy, comes with perscution, are you willing to count the cost? No one preaches the cost...... but I do!
Hank doesn't believe that you are saved at a given point; rather, salvation is a process (according the EO) which is exactly the opposite of scripture. Hank's position on this topic has changed; however, he refuses to admit that his position has changed.
Imagine if the debate was instead of once saved always saved but rather conditional salvation vs unconditional salvation. Than it might make some not have a gut reaction against it…..just saying 😮
Let's make this simple, and short. Mark 16:16. He that believe the and is baptized shall be saved. Acts 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. SIMON WAS SAVED. SIMON SINS, and is rebuked. Acts 8: 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. 23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. 24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me
The word mistranslated as iniquity is literally "lawlessness" (without law). Peter was not indicating that Simon's problem was unrighteousness, but of lawlessness. Peter was warning that Simon was NOT going to be saved in the end, because he was still a slave to disobedience through lawlessness. It means that Simon was without salvation at that point.
Once saved always saved is Calvinism. I don't know how the church got duped into adopting a Calvinist point of view on soteriology but it's wrong. We can certainly have a high degree of certainty if we are talking about God's desire to save us, but we must hold on to that. If we turn from the gift, and live in complete disregard of God's moral code how can we expect for God to take us seriously. Make sure you have works that are at least made of hay or stubble so that when they are tried with fire there is at least smoke. Better yet make sure your works are silver or gold so that our lives honors God and He can tell us "Well done good and faithful servant". Jesus said if you love me keep my commands.
Once saved always saved,, are the words of Jesus himself!!! I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish and never means never!. She who believes in me, shall never die! Check out all the Bible verses that say who you are, in Christ!!.. sealed until the day of redemption by the holy Spirit.. and by the way, I do not agree with the calvinist view..
@@jayheinz4624 You ignore all of Jesus words which warn about being faithful unto death then. Our good works can never be good enough, but faith without works is not a saving faith. Those are Jesus' words too. God bless.
@@yoshkebenstadapandora1181 Yoshke, that is an interesting name? Do you mind if I ask what country you're from? Ephesians 1:13 - 14,, two things only have to happen to be saved and it is to listen and to believe and then you are sealed with him, Jesus ,,by the holy Spirit! With regards to standing firm , the apostle Paul was speaking to the Corinthians and no doubt maybe only 60% of them were truly born again and saved. He was encouraging them, not warning them to hold fast, not forget what he had taught them about salvation. And at the same time, speaking to the unbelievers , who had only understood a part of the Gospel but had not accepted Jesus as Savior. In that time maybe only 20% of those in the church could read so these things, Paul's letters had to be read to everyone. And Paul wanted to make things very clear to those that were sitting on the fence so to speak. And also that they would not sway from the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. There's no works involved !we do not keep our salvation by works !we are saved by grace and faith alone.
No one is yet saved. Converted maybe Edified maybe Changed their way maybe. The truly converted may backside, but must endure to the end, even if they become Catholic, i.e. embrace non biblical doctrine. Matthew 24:13
Who says he wasn't baptized? The scriptures do not say that. I believe he was baptized..... baptized in the Holy Spirit as John the Baptist preached Jesus would do.
bluedream428 the church does teach that lol what are you talking about. There are exceptions when it is impossible to be baptized but for us it is possible.
Who will God spit out of his mouth the lukewarm Christians that continued on in their iniquity. Repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ there will be no sinners in heaven.
What must I ...do.....to be saved ?.. Never or ever sin......Ok, let me rephrase that, how can I be saved ?....Believe in your heart and accept the Risen Christ as the only way to have all your sins forgiven..Ok, but what if I sin again ?...If ? How about will and wilfully, don't believe me ?....Do you have room in your home for a homeless person ? If so, do you have someone in there ? No? Then which commandment are you purposely and willfully breaking ?....I don't believe anyone can earn or maintain their Salvation, I pray and ask Lord Jesus to somehow reveal the truth to anyone including myself
Ro Bus Repent, believe and be baptized and after that, if you commit mortal sin, Repent, believe and confess. That, in essence, is the Message of Salvation, also to partake in the Eucharist which is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ
First let's see this verse: Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world." (John 18:36, ESV) Now this: Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray him. John 6:70-71 ESV Now let's ONLY be HONEST. I beg you by the Love of Christ. Which Words did the Lord Jesus Christ speak FIRST? In fact the numeration of the verses by themselves MAKE IT CLEAR that the Lord spoke of Judas Iscariot as the DEVIL before.... Before.... He said that His KINGDOM is not of this world. How can we say that Judas CHANGED his mind??? We can convert from one denomination to another and on and on like that. The Lord is the Ultimate Judge and we are frail human beings. I don't think that we are to judge human hearts, if we truly know how fragile we are ourselves. However, we shouldn't justify our stance with our OWN thinking.
If He began a good work He will bring it to completion means that we are heaven bound meaning we are saved period. EO have no assurance because most are unregenerate! Self righteous trust in ones own works will never pay a debt that could ever be paid by those who are dead in their sins! EO don’t see themselves as “dead men walking” and continue in their supposed work into heaven. It doesn’t work this way. Nichodemus was a great example of this. Most people will walk away from following Jesus as their Lord and savior because it is a a difficult walk. One must deny himself and pick up his cross. Most are not willing to do this. Only Jesus paid that debt and we are to follow in His foot Steps as lambs to the slaughter!
Either we are born again or not. If any man be in Christ he is a new creation, the old man Adam is passed away and all things become new If we are born again by the Spirit of God in Christ, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise and we cannot be unborn, we are complete in Christ, therefore we cannot do anything to add to our salvation and cannot do anything to lose our salvation.John 3:1-8; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Ephesians 1:13; Colossians 2:10. I don't believe this person's question was answered in a plain and simple way. It should have began with: First of all, baptism doesn't save you! So it doesn't matter if someone has been baptized, have they believed? Have they believed that they are a sinner in need of forgiveness and that Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection was sufficient to pay the penalty for their sins and to forgive them of their sins? That is all that is necessary for salvation. If someone can honestly answer "yes", then you are saved for eternity. Nobody will ever stop sinning. That is what God's grace is for! He knew that NOBODY would ever be saved by the law. That is why He sent Jesus. It is the work of JESUS that saves you, not your work! Lest anyone should boast! If you believe that you can lose your salvation, then you believe that you have done something to get it in the first place. Jesus paid it ALL. Don't be so self righteous that you think that something you do can save you. Only Jesus can save you, and once he does, he never leaves you or forsakes you! You can rest in the knowledge that you are saved for all eternity. You don't need to worry about your works, because it's not your works that save you, it's Jesus' finished work on the cross that saves!
Baptism isn't a requirement for salvation. It is done in obedience to God after you've been saved as part of discipleship. Jesus already paid the price for our sins: past, present, and future. (All of your sins were future when Jesus died for them, by the way.) Renee Roland has a channel that may help you understand this a little better. Watch this video for starters: ua-cam.com/video/R3K3FS91t9w/v-deo.html
Jesus told the apostles to go teach. The church is the extension of the apostles thru the centuries. The church teaches baptism is required for salvation
@@PInk77W1 Sorry, but that is not Biblical at all. Baptism is a part of obedience after you're saved, not a requirement for salvation. If it were a requirement, why would Jesus have told the thief on the cross that he would be with him in paradise that day? The thief believed, but he wasn't baptized. Jesus isn't a liar, therefore, baptism isn't a salvation issue.

Seriusly ? Where does Hank get all this stuff about Judas? Can people not fall into sin? Can peopl;e not turn their backs on Christ? Many, who like Hank claim they have an assurance, sealed by Holy Spirit, 'born again' etc have done just that. They have abandoned belief in God and become atheists and enemies of the Bible. Hank can't argue that they were never really 'sealed', born again , 'saved' etc because their testimony was just as real as his. But just like some mentioned by the Apostles in the NT, they abandoned the way of truth . Interestingly, since Hank converted to Orthodoxy, many of his former brethern believe that he is now lost and no ,longer saved.
I've gotta disagree with you on this. Per John 13:10-11, Jesus said that one of his disciples was "not clean". Judas was never "washed". You state that others would have wanted to be like Judas, which very well may be true. But this just means that others were impressed with his outward show of works, and his apparent position within the twelve. Just like many apparently in the church in this day who appear to have a great walk with the Lord and "fall away", Judas was never saved to begin with.
@@timothyseals3791 the prodigal son was welcomed back by the Father. He never lost the love of the father. The father saw his son from far off coming home which implies he never stopped waiting for his son. Sorry but you are speaking another gospel. We can NOT lose our salvation bc it is a gift from God.
*Not unlike 9.5+/10 voices leading the church system of man, Hank is unaware of the division of the soul and spirit. *Our soul is our mind, will, emotions & personality, and it is hardwired to serve our Adamic/self nature. At times in scripture the words "woman" & "wife" are used in reference to the soul, and the woman God gave Adam as a helpmate was in fact his soul, Eve. *Regarding Once saved always saved... Our spirit is indeed forevermore saved when the Holy Spirit unites with it, which occurs when we invite Jesus into our hearts via the "sinner's prayer." Additionally, throughout life, after accepting Jesus' Holy Spirit into our spirit via the 'sinner's prayer', we are called to die to abiding in the tree of knowledge of good and evil (the tree of self/Adamic godhood) which means we are called to work out our soul's salvation... In other words, we are called to die to producing 'evil fruit' (lying, stealing, bragging, cheating, gossiping, gluttony etc etc etc), and when we do produce evil fruit (sin), we are to also die to trying to produce "good fruit" out of our selves in the attempt to atone for ourselves... We are to depart from the yin and yang cycle of sinning, apathy, fear shame etc, and then trying to rectify ourselves by "trying harder" (aka operating in good works) so as to allow ourselves to reopen our minds to daily relationship with Jesus... We are called to cease living in the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, aka living in service of the Adamic godhood nature within us. *We are instead to accept that God deemed us only worthy of death at Calvary, and crucified us with Jesus on the cross... He paid all atonement for sin, and we are to only abide in Jesus, the Vine, the Tree of Life. *When His love shows us our sin/draws out our sin nature and we mess up, we are simply to ask forgiveness and continue abiding in Him, accepting that only He through us can live sinlessly... Only He is the way, truth and life. *To elaborate on the soul's hardwired service of the Adamic/self nature... When the serpent told Eve partaking of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil would result in being like God, she, in service of Adam, gave the fruit to Adam because he wanted to be like God... Adam wanted the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and once he partook of it, he fell into judgement/judging, consequently recognizing his nakedness, and feeling its shame... Adam even went so far as to justify himself by blaming God for his fall, saying it was the woman whom God gave him as a helpmate who gave him the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil... *Satan and Lucifer are two different individuals... Lucifer is the serpent, and after his fall, Adam's heart eventually hardened so much so towards God, that he degenerated into the person the church system calls Satan. *Salvation of the soul = Dying to service of the Adamic nature... Abiding in Jesus' within us, and as He purifies us by showing us our own sin, we in faith receive zero condemnation, thus being nourished by his unchanging unconditional love... consequently allowing Him to produce further pure and uniquely distinct Christ Light from WithIn each of us... Until the glory of Christ Himself in us is revealed unabated. Another way of describing the salvation of the soul is realizing the marriage of our own soul/woman/wife to Our Spirit in Christ/man/husband... This union's consummation births the ManChild within each of us... Entering into the ManChild is entering into oneness with the mind of Jesus, by His stripes, for we are yoked with him like two animals pulling a plow... He has paid the price for all sin, and our abiding in Him, the Vined tree of Life, brings us to & through the valley of the shadow of death-to-self so that we enter into of God's perfect will- which is knowing the fullness of His joyful love for each of us. *A few implications of what I've described... -The words "male" & "female" in scripture refer exclusively to biological gender... We are all male and female biologically speaking, males having more testosterone and females having more estrogen... -Adam was a hermaphrodite, capable of procreation himself... Adam gave physical birth to both Cain and Abel. -Jesus returns to a victorious church, meaning He returns first through His people, the bride made ready, who, by and in Christ, loose His manifest glory, setting the world in order, and healing the world. Jesus Himself then returns to HIS bride/church. But in the meantime mankind, through Adam, still has physical dominion over the earth. Additionally, having been given authority to bind and loose in heaven as on earth, the church (those whom have invited the Holy Spirit to unite with their spirit via the sinner's prayer) has spiritual dominion over the earth... ...Today the church is apostate, having loosed a world saturated in/by agreement with antichrist... All systems of man on earth, including the church system with Satan through man standing at its pulpit, have fully been given over to the very sedation, belief systems, lifestyles and people in power that we have permitted & even embraced... Consequently, these empires, namely the USA & Australia at present, will be slaughtered for having expelled Jesus, and apathetically refusing to repent for the past century. Yet God operates in paradox, and from the ashes of a militarily invaded & occupied wasteland laden with famine, pestilence & genocide, God's church, no longer mired in the oblivion of contemporary Christianity, will come forth.... He will begin lifting the veil in His chosen within these fallen empires, and begin to come forth from within each of them, and they, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, will look only unto Him, just as He looked only to the Father for 33 years, and work as one body in Holy Spirit unity to expel the occupying militaries. Things will then move towards His manifestation in fullness through His church worldwide, causing its victory at Armageddon, and thereafter He Himself will return to join His bride made ready, the victorious church with whom He is one with... That consummation births the new earth and initiates the 1,000 year reign.

saved means to be born again in spirit we can not undo that we are born again.
It is not Biblical. Where in the Bible does it say you cannot be unborn again? You are backreading onto the parable additional qualities from the analogy and putting words in the our Lord's mouth that he never said. This is exactly hos doctrine's of men start. Stop it.
Whats does this have to do with Judas fell from grace?
He gave us the right answer in the simple statement “ only God knows”! Then he proceeds to explain how we can tell who has fallen away? The fact is King David a man after Gods own heart committed a heinous Murder and Adultery! And God set aside David’s Sin! David praises God in the Psalms by saying “ blessed is the man who God does not impute sin”! David like us was under Grace ! and Fell just like Hank does ! But we don’t lose our salvation or Grace is vain?
That's a good point👍
King David repented, confessed his sins and penitence to ask God to restore the grace, it was’n for free.

Repentance came after Nathan brought Gods judgment to David.
Nowhere in the 613 Levitical or Mosaic law was repentance an option in lieu of death in a Capital Crime like Adultery or murder!
In the other hand see closer psalm 51 verse 14th : “Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed”
In the new covenant Paul teaches that even himself after have been proclaiming the Gospel he can be disqualified. Is this is a nice gesture also from Paul?:
“So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
So, my friend, you and I better keep the good discipline as Paul recommend.

We all love to talk about how much we believe in Jesus but don't actually want to walk the path of salvation (Romans 6:22).
I'm not quite sure myself what a believer has to do to get their name erased from God's book. But this verse has bothered me also. However, I DO believe that I am saved.

Maybe he's hoping through his teaching that the EO will change their stance on that subject one day.
We Orthodox believe what he said... we don't believe in OSAS.
Hank is also not gonna change the EO’s stance on OSAS. We don’t accept it and never will.
Am sorry but he is teaching osas and he is given false hope to a person that is practicing sin that is not Orthodox teaching
Amen.
God bless you brother Hank.

Good stuff Hank!
May God keep you running the race to the end!
What Does Jesus Teach Amen
@@TheGreatSkull123
Let me be clear.
Yet a non-osas would tell the person simply this:
“If you genuinely placed your faith in Christ, you were indeed saved at that point (Eph 2:8-9). Amen. However, you have fallen into grave sin, and are now a slave to sin again (Rom 6:16). But as scripture says, I am here to help lead you back to Christ and away from your error so your soul can be saved in the end (James 5:19-20). For Jesus said, it is the one who endures to the end who will be saved (Matt 10:22)”
A person who believes in the kind of osas that believes if you fall into deep sin, it proves you were never saved in the first place, could only tell a person they were never really saved and your actions prove you were never a child of God in the first place. THAT is very cold, discouraging and makes you an accuser.
@@TheGreatSkull123
You said “try to disrupt the Gospel message and that even among their own group there will be people who APPEAR to be save”
Where in scripture in Acts 20 do you find “appear” to be saved.
That was very comforting!
1 John 2:19 answers this argument pretty straightforward.
"They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us."
If you can leave the faith, you were never of it to begin with.
1 John 2:20-22
"But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son."
There are other scriptures that back up 1 John 2. Ephesians 4:30....sealed by the Holy Spirit...for one
In regards to Hebrews 6:4-6, the key word in the passage is "if" in verse 6.
Hebrews 6:6
"If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."
The writer of Hebrews is setting up a hypothetical statement: “IF a Christian were to fall away . . .” The point being made is that it would be impossible (IF a Christian falls away) to renew salvation.
I agree
Keep it in context. It is not saying what you are using it for. You are misleading people.
"...even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us."
It is taking about anti-Christs.

I can prove this with a break down of the word.
προορίζω comes from πρό + ὁρίζω
πρό = fore
ὁρίζω comes from ὅριον
ὅριον = border, boundary, or limit
ὁρίζω = to set a border, boundary, or limit
So the term is to set a boundary for in advance. You can see it in operation in Romans 8:28
Ὅτι οὓς προέγνω, καὶ προώρισεν ...
Here is Jesus' answer:
"But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Luke 12:45,46)
Not about a believer! Servants and sons are not the same. Servants are under a schoolmaster (the law). But when one comes to Christ, he is made a son.

A servant, not a son. Jesus preached the kingdom of God, not the Gospel because He hadn't died yet. The book of Romans explains the Gospel. Once you believe and are saved you become a child of God who is sealed (marked, owned, secured, identified) by the Holy Spirit who bears witness with your spirit that you belong to God.
@@TheGreatSkull123 I'm not buying one bit of what you're trying to sell.
You say _"Friend, our salvation does not hinge on our performance; our merit; or what we do. We can do nothing to maintain our salvation."_ Maybe you've never stopped to wonder why Paul warned us to "work out your own salvation with fear and trembling" (Phil 2:12). Maybe you think the apostle Peter was all wrong when he warned us to "give diligence to make our calling and election sure" (2 Peter 1:10). Do you think the warning in Hebrews 12:15 not to "fail of the grace of God" was for someone else? Same goes for the warning that we can fall away _even after receiving the holy spirit_ (Hebrews 6:4-6).
Here is Hebrews 4:1; to me it very strongly "suggests" that we should not ever think we "have it made":
⚫ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)
Paul understood that even after preaching to others he could possibly return to a life of sin and become a "castaway":
⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway" (1 Corinthians 9:27)
You say there is nothing we need to do. Jesus says we must abide in Him, and remain in repentance, and overcome slavery to sin:
⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6)
⚫ "Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:4,5)
⚫ "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death." (Revelation 2:11)
⚫ "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." (Revelation 3:5)
Here's a few more verses refuting "once saved, always saved."
⚫ Romans 11:19-22: The apostle Paul warned that Gentiles, even after being "graffed" into the "vine," could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" - the Israelites - had been broken off:
"Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."
⚫ 2 Peter 2:20-22 If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning."
"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."
⚫ Hebrews 10:26,27 delivers the same warning about returning to sin:
"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."
@@TheGreatSkull123 You wrote: _"Nowhere in ALL of scripture can you find an example of a person who is truly saved later being lost and condemned."_
Of course not: no one has been condemned because there has yet not been a resurrection for judgment:
"Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (John 5:28,29)
I'd like Hank to Clearly explain the difference between Works of the Law and good works of faith.

*The words 'male' & 'female' refer to physical gender in scripture...

Thank for you in-depth reply. Not too many people bother to respond like you did. So I do appreciate your time.
🔹Peter says that when we believed, our PAST SINS were paid for.
“But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their PAST sins.” 2 Peter 1:9
🔹Just like believing has a definitive starting point, it can have an ending point too.
James 5:19-20
James also says that when a believer sins he will be forgiven through prayer and confession. James 5:15-16
🔹No where in the Bible does it say that repenting from sins is a form of self-righteousness.
It was only when God **SAW** what they **DID** and how they
TURNED FROM THEIR EVIL WAYS, he had compassion and did not bring upon them the destruction he had threatened.
Thank You Hank

I believe at some point and some more than others willfully sin. I also believe if in our hearts if we are sorry and ask God to forgive us he will do so, no matter how many times we sin. In other words 70x7 or, as many times as it takes.
God has already forgiven us that’s why Jesus died on the cross. We have to trust in that alone.

@getrit3007 Doesn’t change the fact that salvation can be lost
@getrit3007 Salvation in a moment is heresy
I can walk away from my earthly dad but he’s still my dad. Always will be.
@@StandUp777Jesus said all that the Father has given into His hands He will lose none except Judas who was a devil. If Jesus told the disciples to baptize people why would a person who wants to please God not get baptized?
Baptism is done in obedience to God as a public showing of your faith. It is not a requirement for salvation, but is done after you are saved. Much like how a wedding ring is a symbol of your marriage, it isn't your marriage, nor is it required in order to be married.

"The Lord himself affirms that baptism is necessary for salvation [John 3:5]. . . . Baptism is necessary for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and who have had the possibility of asking for this sacrament [Mark 16:16]" (CCC 1257).
and
Yet Christians have also always realized that the necessity of water baptism is a normative rather than an absolute necessity. There are exceptions to water baptism: It is possible to be saved through "baptism of blood," martyrdom for Christ, or through "baptism of desire", that is, an explicit or even implicit desire for baptism.

Is this still a question? I think Matthew 7:22 & 7:23 answers this pretty clearly

U r mistaken
These have been fulfilled
John 6:37-39
37 All whom the Father gives Me will come to Me, and he who comes to Me I will never cast out. 38 For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.39 This is the will of the Father who has sent Me, that of all whom He has given Me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
John 10 27-29
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
John 17:12
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. I have kept those whom You have given Me. And none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
Now lets look at John 18 and we can see they have been fulfilled already
John 18:8-9
8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am He.
D. L. Starkey
That is an incorrect assumption.
Matthew 7:21-23 tells us why those people were not let into the Kingdom and why Jesus never knew them. It is explicitly stated for us. We don’t need to make the text say more than it does.
“depart from me, ye that work *INIQUITY* .” - Greek world: anomia
anomia: lawlessness
Original Word: ἀνομία, ας, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: anomia
Phonetic Spelling: (an-om-ee'-ah)
Definition: lawlessness
Usage: lawlessness, iniquity, disobedience, sin.
@@martin9410 "How can your faithfulness and works improve upon what Jesus has already done?"
The dichotomy between Faith and Works is false since to believe is Work for the Ego just as much as anything else. The point is that the Ego cannot verb its way to Grace. If you can believe your way to salvation, then, lo and behold, there IS something you can do - ie Works - to get salvation: I believe->salvation, I stop believing-> salvations stops, I start believing again->salvation is restarted.
"Name one work that you can do better than Jesus to insure your eternal future."
God opened the door with his Grace, you have to go through it - that entails lots of Works and Faith.
IMPOSSIBLE.
Yes they can! The parable of the sower says so
Actually the parable of the sower doesn't say so. Let's look at one of the parallel passages in Luke 8:11-15
"11 “Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. 15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance."
First, the only time salvation is even mentioned is regarding the first soil: "...so they will not believe and be saved." This not only tells us they're not saved, but tells us why, "because they will not believe."
The second soil are those who "receive the word with joy," but drift away because of temptation.
The gifts and callings of God are without repentence. He cannot save then unsaave. The blood imputed can never be refuted.
1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Did you catch that? Ti 4:1 says that (SOME SHALL DEPART FROM THE FAITH). It doesn't get any clearer than this. A person could not depart from the faith it they didn't have it in the first place now could they? Due to a persons free will, they could except Jesus at one point in their lives and then reject him at another point in their lives. I personally know people who have done this. They were Christians at one point but have walked away from the faith by their own free will. So you could not say that these people were never really saved because 1Ti 4:1 says that
these people depart from the faith, which implies that they were already saved at some point.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

Hbr 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
How clear do you need it to be? Hbr 10:26 is telling us plain as day, the sacrifice no longer remains for those who continue to sin willfully.
It's really very simple. It's through Jesus Christ that any of us are saved. And right out of the mouth of Jesus Himself, He tells us all...
Jhn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Slikk Matt 7:22-23. Jesus says “I NEVER knew you”....not, “I once knew you, when you trusted and believed in Me, but then you screwed up and backslid and now I don’t know you.”
The Lord Jesus Christ says.... “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH everlasting life, and SHALL NOT come into condemnation; but is PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE.”
John 5:24 KJV
HATH = PRESENT TENSE
PASSED = PAST TENSE

Being saved by His amazing grace through faith is a GIFT.
“Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that BELIEVETH that Jesus is the Son of God?”

“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:”

Don’t confuse that which is done for salvation with that which is done for debt, service to the Lord, discipleship and obeying His commands to follow Him and preach the gospel.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

Sin ONE TIME, you’ve broken the ENTIRE LAW

You have sin you don’t even know about.
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
Isaiah 64:6 KJV

There IS NO ONE RIGHTEOUS, we have all sinned.
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

@ MLuff 1611: It sounds like you are really trying hard to ignore key parts of Mat 7:22 and 7:23 to fit your agenda. I’ll try to help you understand these verses…
Mat 7:22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord”…
Notice that the people in this verse are referring to Jesus as (Lord).
Mat 7:23 “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you”:…
What Jesus is saying here is that although these people are (claiming Jesus to be Lord), in reality, (these people do evil). How do we know this? It says it right in the next part of the verse…
Mat 7:23 "depart from me, ye that work iniquity".

Okay, that's what I thought. Great! Thank you Fr. (I'm sure you meant 1 Cor 10:12)
faithofourfathers there is no absolute assurance we are working out our salvation, we must finish the race, we won't know for sure until we meet Jesus. Always have a healthy fear of the Lord, repenting always, dieing to self every day.
Romans 8:16 - "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."
Of course a person can lose their salvation. The prodigal son is one of many examples.
Jan you missed the whole meaning of the prodigal son. His father never disowned him.
I had a go at you in another video, but here i must say that i agree with you on this issue.

Beautifully said...
Hank Hanegraaff what is your answer? Once saved, always saved? Direct to the answer, not too much circling around many words but from the scripture.
@@BibleAnswerMan Once saved always saved ( that is, once born again of The Holy Spirit

How does one with serious depression experience assurance? Since it's unlikely to be a consistent peace or hope, is it an act of the will, of faith?
Of course a person can lose their salvation. The prodigal son is one of many examples.

Thanks. Good to know.
Well said David
David Hall
Does not James White believe that God did not only allow Adam and Eve to sin but He made them sin because He wanted sin to come into our world ?
Does James White not believe that God not only allow the Holocaust to happen but He made it happen ?
Does He not believe that God has arbitrarily predestined some people to heaven and others to hell so that people can not choose if they want to worship God or not ? The god that James White believes in is an evil psychopath.
Thanks
Even with all the debates, we still have to admit that like Hank says only the Lord knows the heart. Also, God's children will always bear fruit and thats the hallmark of the Christian life. Those who fall away may have truly been grafted in and the rejected God, I happen to believe that God keeps all of His own and that those who fall away were only partaking of the truth on an external level.

True! Once your saved your always saved! Unless you know of a sin Jesus didn't die for?
No not true, blatant heresy. Think of the prodigal son parable
As far as I know, and I'm sure you know there is only one "unforgivable" sin which is to blaspheme the holy spirit.
Blessings.

Revelation 2:4-6
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.

Google, "there is no partiality with God" some might translate it to "favoritism". Why didn't god predestine John the Baptist to betray Him while Judas to be the highest one among those born of women? They are both homosapiens made from dust off the earth, how did God decide to descriminate against one dust while favor the other? Did He flip a coin? It was freedom of choice that he foreknew and used for his plan of salvation
He even called Judas "friend" to lead him to repentance.
Shalom

2 Peter 2:20-22 (ESV):
20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 22 Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
John 15:2, 6: “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit." 6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned" (
Jesus says, "Remain in me and I will remain in you." John 15:4.

@downbythesea1071 Thanks for the input.
Acts 8: 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.
@@TheRootedWord to say Simon was without salvation, is to say that the holy spirit was mistaken in Mark 16:16, or Acts 8:13, or both.
Converted maybe
Edified maybe
Changed their way maybe.
The truly converted may backside, but must endure to the end, even if they become Catholic, i.e. embrace non biblical doctrine. Matthew 24:13
The church does not teach Baptism is required for salvation. How about the thief on the cross? He was not baptized.
How do you know that he wasn't baptized?
Who says he wasn't baptized? The scriptures do not say that. I believe he was baptized..... baptized in the Holy Spirit as John the Baptist preached Jesus would do.
Why do you want to create controversy? This is unhealthy and Paul warns against this as a sin.
bluedream428 the church does teach that lol what are you talking about.
There are exceptions when it is impossible to be baptized but for us it is possible.
Who will God spit out of his mouth the lukewarm Christians that continued on in their iniquity. Repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ there will be no sinners in heaven.
SAVIOUR . ----- CHRIST FOR ALL !! ---- JOHN UK.
So so beautifully expressed.
Ro Bus Repent, believe and be baptized
and after that, if you commit mortal sin,
Repent, believe and confess.
That, in essence, is the Message of Salvation, also to partake in the Eucharist which is the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ
Once saved always saved after Gods discipline in my books
Read the Holy Bible that you might have life eternal.
First let's see this verse:
Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world." (John 18:36, ESV)
Now this:
Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil.” He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, one of the twelve, was going to betray him.
John 6:70-71 ESV
Now let's ONLY be HONEST.
If that were the case, then there wouldn’t be all these **IFS** when salvation is being addressed...
🔹”By this gospel you are saved, **IF** you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:2)
🔹”Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because **IF** you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.” (1 Timothy 4:16)
🔹“I am the vine; you are the branches. **IF** you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. **IF** you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. “ (John 15:6-7)
🔹“you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For **IF** God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.” (Romans 11:20-21)
🔹 “But women will be saved through childbearing- **IF** they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.” (1Timothy 2:15)
🔹” **IF** we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” (Hebrews 10:26-27)
🔹 “ **IF** they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.” (2 Peter 2:20-21)
🔹”Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation- **IF** you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel.” (Colossians 1:21-23)
🔹” But **IF** you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. (Rev3:3)
🔹”I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: **IF** anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And **IF** anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” (Rev 22:18-19)
🔹” **IF** anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” (Revelation 14:9-11)
🔹 “ **IF** you love Me, keep My commandments.” (John 14:15)
🔹” **IF** anyone does not love the Lord, let that person be cursed! Come, Lord!” (1 Corinthians 16:22)
🔹 “No one has ever seen God; but **IF** we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:12)
🔹”As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. **IF** it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us-eternal life.” (1 John 2:24-25)
What about sin if you sin and still believe and not baptized your going to he'll right or no because god said no sinner shall enter heaven
Jesus will live forever so he will always be there to remind God he has paid for our sins
Your on the right track Kimberly..
There are some chosen, even if they walk away, God will rebuke them..until they returned.. I know because I’ve been a prodigal son more than once, somehow found my way back to God, those that are not chosen will not return

Of course Judas was saved at one point. That should be obvious.
The cross cannot be emptied of its power once imputed as a gift.
Scripture? Or the quote from some theologian?
Of course a person can lose their salvation. The prodigal son is one of many examples.
@@Knitted_together_by_Jesus If the son did not decide to come back to the father, would he still remain saved living a life of sin?
Which has nothing to do with the topic. God won't override our free will. You don't surrender free will when you get saved.
Our spirit is indeed forevermore saved when the Holy Spirit unites with it, which occurs when we invite Jesus into our hearts via the "sinner's prayer."
Additionally, throughout life, after accepting Jesus' Holy Spirit into our spirit via the 'sinner's prayer', we are called to die to abiding in the tree of knowledge of good and evil (the tree of self/Adamic godhood) which means we are called to work out our soul's salvation...
