    As someone who is immersed in the small bike scene (I own a C125 Cub and Monkey, and ride with many others on similar bikes), I can tell you that there are no wrong answers here, they are ALL amazing bikes !
    I will say that the Monkey is ultra comfy though, and with the addition of front and rear racks, it makes a fabulous little go anywhere tourer.
    The biggest problem all of these bikes have, is finding an owner who can get over their own image hang ups of being seen out and about on a little bike. Once you manage to let go of feeling all self conscious about them, you start to realise that fun of riding a small bike on the ragged edge on and off road, often far outweighs yawning around at 70mph on a bigger bike.

      They are all loads of fun. Every time I ride a monkey bike I can’t stop smiling. I feel the same about the tnt as well. I would love to have one of each in the garage.

      @@GillyBikes At least it was fixed for free. I am in Ecuador and they sent me to some Joe Schmo mechanic who was authorized for Benelli and so far so good. Now have double the mileage with zero problems.

    wasn't surprised with the choice at all, I know someone with a Grom who is a small bike nut and though he has spent a small fortune making his bike better and faster he wishes he had bought the TNT as he says they ride better, can be tuned more and cheaper and there are many goodies for them that are far cheaper than what there is around for the Honda pair and also it hasn't been sanitized like everything Honda make pretty much

    The only bike still sold here is the Benelli TNT and we get the 135 we have fairly strict regulations about being able to keep up with traffic so they need to be able to do 80-90 km with 10% or so in reserve for passing. They need to have ABS and a few other things as well.

      @ we did have all three 125cc you need EFI ABS and power to weigh ratios. Australia. That’s why every one is excited about the DRZ4S and SM as they not been available for a few years now. I think the TNT is a fab little bike very popular in my apartment block

    I like the Monkey & the Grom , not a big fan of that rear end on the Benelli with that silly rear bitza mudguard . I think Sinnis or rivals Lexmoto also import a small wheeled mini bike from China & flog them at a budget price . The beauty of these bikes ,is even if the engine is knackered , they can easily be removed & rebuilt on a coffee table dirt cheap ,& plenty of parts can be bodged to fit them . They can also get places no other bikes can get to & get away with parking in places where they shouldn’t .👍

    For looks Alone and most comfortable seat the Monkey wins but unfortunately it's only a single seater....yes yes I know! What do I expect it to do Two up with just 9hp..nothing spectacular to be Honest, but when the need comes I would love to have chance that I can do it.

    The Honda Grom is a 22 plate, 3057 miles, selling for £3399. I have a Grom 10 months old, 73 plate, 400 miles, kept in a garage, never ridden in the rain. Went to a few dealers and the average they wanted to pay was £2000, which is ridiculous.

    How many miles did you ride your Benelli before selling it? Almost any new motorcycle can last a few thousand miles without problems.
    I owned an SSR Razkull 125 in the USA. By the end of one year (3200+ miles), two wires had broken, the clutch was burning out, the exhaust was rusting, and water had somehow gotten into the oil. That last bit was probably from condensation, because it was being ridden in the very cold Montana winter as a commuter. It was never abused. The clutch lever was popped about five times total. So it wasn't treated as a toy. It was my only motorized transportation.
    I don't recommend the SSR brand. In the USA they were the company that imported Benelli TNT motorcycles. I don't know if they were made in the same factory.

    • @GillyBikes
      @GillyBikes  5 місяців тому

      I did a couple of thousand miles over 2 years. Never had an issue mechanically. But after a year and a half I noticed corrosion around the exhaust. The weather here is terrible. Always raining. Not great really for the bikes. One of my mates has one. Here had his for about 4 years now and he still loves it. Not done many miles but still looks new. He doesn’t ride in the rain which helps.

    • @MrMoneyHelper
      @MrMoneyHelper 5 місяців тому

      @@GillyBikes Thank you for telling us. Those aren't enough miles to know if it would be a reliable machine.
      The KYMCO Agility 125 scooter that I bought, as a replacement for the SSR Razkull 125, has 8000 miles on it. I can report that plastic fender bits have broken, screws have fallen out, and that the belt and rollers weren't fully worn out when replaced at just over 7000 miles. The mpg (US) varies from 60-91 depending on the speed it was ridden.
      By the time one has 10,000 miles on a motorcycle, a good assessment of reliability can be made. If an automobile has any problems before reaching 20,000 miles, we start to wonder if it will become an unreliable machine.

    • @GillyBikes
      @GillyBikes  5 місяців тому +1

      @MrMoneyHelper I don’t think I have ever kept a bike that long. I have a couple so the most I put on one last year was 5000 miles and that included 2 big trips from the uk. France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. I would never do that on one of my smaller capacity bikes.

    I love my TNT but after about 700 kms it was leaking oil and I took it in to get fixed. New gasket was installed. Great. But Now I'm scared thath I'm out of the warranty I don't know if it will have more problems.

      I'm afraid she'd best start on a scooter. AJS Modena is very low, not expensive. When she's got the hang of riding, as long as she can get one leg down, the other on the foot brake, seat height won't matter so much.😊
