Last year I bought a grom kinda on a whim just as a toy. When gas prices starting going up I started riding it to work. Now it's pretty much my go-to commuter unless the weather is terrible. Doing all my weekly motoring on maybe $5 of gas, while also having more fun than a car is so nice.
Same here. Picked up a pcx150 in 2021 as a camping toy now between that and my rebel 300 I got this year (2022) I only drive my truck when it rains. Pcx gets ~95mpg and rebel ~65mpg.
Honda Navi owner here. Bought in March 2 of 2023. Been using it for all commutes in city roads and I am absolutely in love with it. Beginner rider too so I'm going to go up to a Grom.
Monkey hands down. Ride it almost exclusively during the summer in town, and since I took it out of storage in april I have spent less than $25 on gas going to and from work and doing all of my grocery shopping on the Monkey.

DAX or as originally known the Honda Gorilla is basically a bigger Monkey. It was 3/4 size motorcycle and very good for it's class. Comes of cheaper than the chromed Monke too, but probably not coming to USA hence Yam didn't talk about it.
My 1964 super cub way getting really unreliable last year so I went shopping for a new daily and what made me settle on the Navi was getting rear ended on the super cub and needing a way to work. Fell in love with the Navi and the super cub is now sitting in the shed waiting for me to have the time to get it back on the road. By the way if anyone has a rear fender, swing arm and rear wheel for a 64 super cub I’d like to know.
Everytime I see one of these minibikes, I want one so bad. Problem is I would have no use for it. I live in a smaller town and ride alone, so a minibike would have no practical use for me, sadly. Would really love a Monkey or Grom.
Smaller town = smaller bike, and then the world becomes your adventure! That sounds like the best excuse to me, meanwhile I'm looking at highway commutes and still wanting one but with a 250-300cc because they are perfect for doing tricks and generally messing around.
I have a CRF250L and it’s one of the closest things to a usable mini bike. It’s still super light weight although no where near as short, but my 200lbs ass can do 75-80mph on the highway for extended periods of time if I need to. But you also get the fun of a dual sport. That or a Kawasaki 300 dual sport/super moto might interest you
I saw the monkey in 2019, left with the Super Cub. I couldn’t get the monkey out of my head, so i bought a Suzuki Van Van. Same retro style, but bigger and more powerful. Being 6’5” I don’t think i will ever be able to justify the purchase of the monkey. I just wish Honda would release a modern version of the big wheel bikes from the 80’s, but with more power.
Navi owner here. Having a ton of fun on it downsizing from a gsxr1000 down to a vstrom 650 and now this 110. Haven't had this much fun in a while. I will say I do miss the convenience and ease of FI and if done again would probably buy the trail.
Thank's Yammie, This is a nice we summary of Honda's "Little" bike line up. I am an owner of a 2021 Trail CT125. I am now using it for my job. I Bolted my tool box on the back. I love the concept of these, but I can't find any anywhere near MSRP near me. Local place was selling the Navi for $2500. I saw a '22 trail for $6400. That's what, $2k over MSRP? These are really neat options, but it feels like there's too little supply to be saying these are available at this prices. I have to look 3-4 years back just to see used Groms going for less than MSRP, and it's not a guarantee.
Had my name on a dealer's list for June. He called me to say July. If he calls me I'll let him know he can now sell it to someone else. I went vintage, with something both available and less costly that'll serve the same purpose for me: getting me on the road. I like all these new Honda mini motos, but none of them enough to wait AND pay a premium for.
2500 for a Navi is actually a couple hundred cheaper than anywhere within 200 miles of me - 2800 is the lowest out the door price I've seen, with similar 1k+ markups on every other honda model.
@@g1nk0 oh 100% ridiculous. And with the way some of this stuff holds it's value even used isn't a guarantee. I was looking for a moped or something for around town, 2006 ruckuses going for nearly new MSRP anywhere local. '15 groms going for almost new MSRP, etc.
Unfortunately it is the limitation of the centrifugal semi-auto clutch. You can't really put anything more powerful than 9 HP there. That's why Cub-style bikes with 150cc displacement all have full MT clutch. And the same case also happens with 10 HP Grom and Monkey (and for Japanese/EU bros, the Dax)
I actually got to ride a Honda grom for my MSF course and it was so much fun. It was so easy to move and make turns. Definitely gonna get one later down the line.
I'd love to get a Trail, but Honda won't import them over here, and even if they did the markup would make it too expensive. Shame, looks like it would be a great bike for the colder months of the year.
I miss the Navi man, a 6'1 fella like me looks funny as hell in that bike, but boy it was great to commute with because it barely uses gas, great option if you're on a budget or live in a third world country like myself (Colombia) oh and the Navi costs 1'000 usd brand new around here.
If they made the supercub in a 250 I would be all over it. I need my bikes to be highway capable, and I don’t want to be WOT 100% of the time to ride at highway speeds.

A friend has a Navi and he's using it to do DoorDash/UberEats and says is the best vehicle to use that makes those food delivery apps actually profitable
I wonder why a Honda puts a bike under under $6,000 because by the time the dealer gets a hold of it $1807 bike will be $6,000 with all dealer mark up and then when I go to trade it in its worth $1200
Navi here in india sold extremely well in the beginning too and i even owned one new for like a 1000$ off the showroom, but these bikes have gotten out of favour and are being sold cheap as hell 300-500 dollars being generous 😂
@@lostintheclouds8719 the navi is much easier to ride. A bit heavier and slower. Overall it's very fun. I prefer the manual transmission of the grom. The foot pegs are more forward on the Navi as well. They are both pretty fun.

All of these weigh more than the original CR125 Elsinore. Good F*****g Grief!!!
Best super cub is the 90cc high revving with 8.5hp and square design 😶🌫️😶🌫️
Subbed
Monkey cost as much as a 300cc rebel...
200cc maybe but 5k to much for me.
Navi Nation
Navi here in india sold extremely well in the beginning too and i even owned one new for like a 1000$ off the showroom,
but these bikes have gotten out of favour and are being sold cheap as hell 300-500 dollars being generous 😂
Dang wish I could find one for that price here
@@lostintheclouds8719 Yes, I bought one and drove it quite a bit.
Nice lill bike
I honestly want a trail 125 idk why I just dig the look
I've had a grom for a few weeks now. I ride it everywhere I can. I just put a deposit down on a Navi as well.
How do you like your navi compared to your grom?
@@lostintheclouds8719 the navi is much easier to ride. A bit heavier and slower. Overall it's very fun. I prefer the manual transmission of the grom. The foot pegs are more forward on the Navi as well. They are both pretty fun.
I have a trail 125. It's a blast on country roads and around town. I converted my super cub 125 into a Door Dasher. I don't know how long I'll hold onto the C125. I'm really tempted to try to trade it in for a yellow Monkey. I want a manual clutch minimoto
Constructuve feedback -- I am shopping.I dont need or want 60 years of history on each product line. What are the pros, cons and costs of each as they exist NOW.
This was funny as hell, I didn't know Yammy could be funny. Good job.
Navi's are so underrated I love my Navi its. Definitely a pocket bike in my opinion lol
How could you make this video and not include the CRF110F it's far superior to all of these and has fuel injection for dank nooners! If you don't believe me go watch my videos
Yes some people will disagree with you. Scooter is just a two wheeled motorized vehicle with a flat footboard. Usually they are automatic but don't have to be and usually have open step through frames but don't have to be. That is all.
I bought a Navi because you said my DragonBallZ lunchbox would fit, it doesn't. Now kids crying...Thanks
I own a Monkey and a Fireblade, the Monkey is hilarious in everyway.
1:25 The CL-90 was not a Super Cub, I owned one back in 1968.
I don't know what's the appeal of a fucking grom, it's expensive, it's small a.f has a dogshit engine
Yes I always tell people I got my Navi because I wanted a scooter to easily get around downtown but I didn't want to look like a bitch riding a traditional scooter
Vailed personal attacks on people with smart ass commentary will not advance the culture of bike riding.
I really enjoyed the video good stuff 👍 but I have always been curious as to why most American vlogers will acknowledge the excistance of mini bikes like these but won't talk about bikes like the cb125r?
CB125r is not available new here in the states for some reason. So basically no American vlogger has gotten a chance to ride one, whereas there seems to be at least one mini Moto on every block.
Where’s the actual bike. Just showed a bunch of pics from the internet
Anything besides grom is wrong. It’s what I took my msf course and motorcycle test and I miss it every day
Dude that Navi looks kinda cool
Was thinking bout getting one but they use drum brakes which I thought was a bad call
2:50 here in the Philippines, this kind of motorcycles are used commonly. One time there is a hitman using a blue semi automatic underbone motorcycle since it is easier to ride with one hand and use a gun on your left hand.
My honda navi i paid 2700$ and i have 3000 miles on it and i go everywhere, sometimes 100 miles in a day.
Good job Honda and good job nerds
What ! Wait did you just say "your parents are 1st cousins"? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Say what you want, but the Supercub (1st motorcycle I ever road) is the most tried and true bike on the planet.
Been produced since 1958. Reliable as the Rock of Gibralter.
Guess what motor is in the Monkey and Grom.. but with CLUTCH
@@miketran4289 Didn't know that but it makes a ton of sense.
Also, definitely does not come standard with any type of knobby tires. At all. Lol.
Are all the other Honda bikes getting huge markups, ton of dealers are selling Honda Navis for 3 grand
The fact thingy, did males actually bought the dolls? For what?
If the Navi was fuel injected I would probably look into it
I've ordered a Honda Trail 125 so there's my answer.
I pissed off a grom rider when I smoked him on a velodrome track with my mini bike
Fun fact:
In Russian the word "Grom" means "a thunder"
Moved to Pa and bought a 2015 From from a friend. Got me back on the road after not riding for three years. The roads here are great . I put tires on my 86 Nighthawk S , and now ride both all over the place ! Been riding 40 yr or so. Riding a slow bike fast is more fun than riding a fast bike slow !
"Grom!"
Very expensive if compared to Made in India motorcycles.
Woo, yammie covers the GROM!
He ran out of the usual content
those bikes suck. i ride sport bikes like papa yam, like a real street squid.
why do you have to put all of the crappy cuts in there.
Im a nerd and I have Honda's but I win becuase Im on two wheels.
