I worked my way up the bike ladder to a CBR1000F supersport tourer, then to a supersport zx9r then decided to downsize, and thought what the heck, I love Monkey's, sold zx9r and bought a new monkey, ticked bucket list goals of new vehicle ownership and owner of yellow (or white would have sufficed) vehicle, I have as much fun on monkey as I did going fast on Ninja 💁♂️ fun is in the feel of the beholder!..
2022 Monkey owner here. This bike is a gem. Gorgeous design, great quality, superb functioning, economy and... lots of fun!! Perfect example of "less is more". Honda nailed it with this bike.
I agree i left sportsbikes behind 10 yrs ago i missed bikes and now have a monkey it has renewed my love too great wee bike 7 miles to work saves me a fortune too 😊
🙋♂️ Me too, a year and a bit out of sports bikes, I actually went to a bike meet today, and rode two big bikes (VN800 and MT09) for 1st time since I downsized, and yeah they were good, but I'm just not bothered with the heavy lump's anymore! 💁♂️🤷♂️ Viva the Monkey Revolution! ✊😁
I really do think these are the best 125’s. So much fun and great looking bikes. You don’t need to go fast to have a good time and this bike shows that ❤
I just bought one yesterday, still waiting on registration and insurance however, I did whip it around my neighbourhood and oh my God what a beautiful toy.
Best bikes money can buy ! 80 of us have just got back from ragging them around the Isle of Man. Huge Monkey / Grom / mini bike scene out there nowadays, the fun we’re having is off the scale !👍
I have the same Monkey and color. The accessories I have added are a T-REx racing windshield, center stand, and rear rack with a top box and Man in the box $120 USD rear shocks also rear view mirror extensions to move them further out. Mine is getting between 114 mpg and 144 mpg depending on conditions. Now have 2000 miles on it and enjoy ridding this bike a lot. I am 80 and find the light weight handling very easy.
They are great little bikes I bought a red one new last year done a few mods tail tidy termignoni decat exhaust k&n filter sounds great not to loud good for around town.
i've gotta have a go on one of these at some time. there's been a few youtubers do reviews on them lately and all say the same, it's a fun machine, which is what it's all about. GL and thanks for yours
@@GillyBikes i did a ride of 160 miles today in the dales, and while putting in a little loop past semer water nr hawes, i saw 3 what looked like older guys travelling in the opposite direction, one was on a monkey who looked like he was enjoying himself, I'll probably notice loads of them around now.
A friend of mine had a similar machine in his youth, it was called a Riga. It looked like a copy of a Monkey. It had two gears and was damn fast and brought fun no less than big motorcycles. Excellent video!! hello from Russia ✌️
In 55 years of riding; I have never looked at someone riding and thought "that looks stupid". It's always " that looks like fun". Everyone from Harley guys to the general public loves mini-motos.
Just purchased a 2024 monkey, rode Harley for many years,I'm 60 years old and I'm so excited like I was a kid getting my 1st dirt bike, can't wait for spring here in Canada 🇨🇦 my wife thinks I'm crazy,it's so nostalgic reminds me of my little Z 50 45 years agp😂
They are a really good-looking little bike. Much cheaper here in Thailand. I did a short test ride in Chiang Rai, but it was too slow off the mark compared to my Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter, so I didn't buy it. If it had a 150cc engine and 14'' wheels, I'd get one. I don't like that seat.
These bike are great my mate used to have one smaller bikes are fun I have a pit bike that's similar sized to this and i have way more fun on that than bigger bikes
Think we are brother's from another mother !! blimey not only am I negotiating a niken but I fancy a monkey, life can be cruel with these choices 😅keep the vlogs coming
I owned a Grom clone and it was fun. Traded it for a scooter. I sat on a Monkey in the shop and it was very comfortable compared to the Grom. I'm thinking of trading the scooter for a Monkey or Grom. The problem is that the scooter is just as fast as the Grom and it has under seat storage and the legs don't get splashed riding in the rain. The benefits of the Honda's are they will likely last much longer than my KYMCO scooter and they get much better miles per gallon. Does anybody make a rear rack and trunk for the Grom and Monkey?
@@GillyBikes I don’t own one myself but remember having a go of a 70 cc version back in the seventies . The nearest I got to one now is my 2004 Honda 125 Innova carb 4 speed auto clutch step thru . There’s a bloke from Manchester that has a channel based on the monkey bikes , he has had a trailer built to match his monkey bike . A load of them invaded the IOM . They put a grin on yer face .👍
Sorry I must have cut it in the editing. I’m only small so 5”8 but I’ve seen lots of bigger guys riding them. I think that’s part of the fun. Being so much bigger than the bike. You should definitely go and try one.
As I follow channels of Helmet Head, Monkey Dix Adventures & Top Boy Jonny and particularly the fun they’ve has with almost a hundred on Isle Of Man trio I’m very tempted by Monkey or Gtom, if I could justify a second bike… With Benelli TNT had higher seat than BN according to specs
Yes it’s true. I think the tnt is about 20ml higher than the BN. I’ve seen helmet head, never seen the other one. I might check them out later. These little bikes are brilliant. Non stop smiles.
@@GillyBikes Join us on the Isle of Man on your TNT in April 2025 for PLANET OF THE MONKEYS 4….There will be about 150 of us, as it has doubled each Year. You would have a blast and you would be made very welcome. Helmet Head came along on my CT125 this Year and he had a great time.Cheers Dean
Would you recommend this model for a very first motorcycle? I've never ridden a motorcycle and thought this model looked like a really fun way to get started in the motorcycle world. I'm getting obsessed with this monkey 🐒
The monkey kind of reminds me of those fluffy Muppet helmet covers. Novel for about 10 seconds and kind of unnecessary but perfect for attention seekers.
I've got one. In a sense, you are right. The novelty wears of really quickly. But, you are left with a very capable little 125. It's actually a very good bike, not just a joke.
I have become completely obsessed with these tiny Honda bikes. The Monkey is absolutely gorgeous and ridiculously fun to throw around.
I agree 100%. I’m with you. I need one !
@@GillyBikes I'm selling off all my arcade units to hopefully scoop up a Monkey. The seat on this years release is *chefs kiss*
Brilliant. Good look getting the money together. Hope you get one soon 👍

I have 1 question... can you put it into the backseat of your car?
Because with my monkey, you can🤣
How about yours?

Totally agree. So much fun.
i just passed my CBT today (30th July 2024)
and i am trying to decide whether to buy a Honda Monkey or a Keeway V-Cruise.
@BarryAirdrieFromDaUK 2 completely different bikes. Both great options. I would be happy with either.
@@GillyBikes i think maybe a Honda Monkey is more suited to a total beginner like myself because it's around 40 kg lighter than a Keeway V-Cruise.

The most fun you can have on 2 wheels 🥳

The most fun I’ve ever had on a 125!
I recently bought a new 2024 Honda Monkey as my first motorcycle at 58 years old and it is bonkers of fun. I am sorry I waited so long to buy one.
The main thing is you have done it now. A great bike to start on. Loads of fun. Ride safe my friend 👍

They are amazing. So much fun. Which colour did you get?
@@GillyBikes of course I had to get the Banana yellow for the Monkey. Think I'm going to name it Curious George.
@MrGurpro great choice. That’s definitely the colour I would go for.
