@@Falenir from what I'm seeing the Zeus is slightly better however has a much higher top speed but to the other folks commenting it's not really a direct competitor to the Zeus. More so to the constellation.
It's like the complete antithesis to the Zeus MKII. Sooo much open space, left open on purpose not only for RP reason, but I suspect mostly for balance reasons. One elevator would be enough, the other two could instead be the escape pods. That clears one complete room. The Room with the airlock also seems like so much wasted space. Even with the luxury quarters and huge common space, you could easily double the cargo capacity. You could also make the back cargo room a full grid, and the middle cargo room could easily have three rows, and stack them 2 high. This ship could easily be around 600 SCU without losing anything but an elevator, but then it would be waaay to good for its price point. And if they made it more expensive instead, they would not sell as many.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Whether you're a max/min player or not, there is so much wasted space in this ship. I am considering melting my pledge.
I ordered a Tac. I didn't think I needed a Max since I have a Taurus, which can take 170+ SCUs of cargo, and if I want more , I have an A2 that can take 200+, and a M2, which take over 500+ SCus. So I didn't see a need for a Max in my fleet. But boy, is it a sweet ship! I actually missed out on the beautiful blue paint for my Tac. I got every other paint except the blue. Not sure what I was thinking. We now have three ship series in the game that I consider essential. The Connies, The Hercs, and the Starlancers. I'm typically on the front of criticizing CIG for its focus on ships rather than game value, but this time around I have to congratulate them. This are quality ships!
... really like this ship. I usually go for the version within-a-series with all of the "gadgets"... and I would here, as well, if they had a dedicated "Explorer"; but I think the MAX is the best-version of the three Starlancers proposed. It features incredible configurability and versatility. With the addition of modular "game-loop" stations that will invariably be making their-way into the game, shortly... the MAX has all the "makings" of a truly remarkable ship... that already comes equipped with the "charm".
My critiques of the Starlancer MAX are: * Only two double beds for 1-4 crew industrial ship. It makes no sense to do that over four single beds, preferably four doubles. * There's no reason to have two rear elevators. * It's very lacking in the lighting department (no front flood lights, poor lighting of the middle cargo floors when lowered, no rear flood lights for the lowered ramp) * No airlock for the docking port. * Would have wanted more windows as you pointed out * The gangway across the middle cargo section is suspended by wires that are exactly 2 SCU apart, meaning it's really easy to get a 4-32 SCU container permanently stuck there. All that said, I really really love it. It's my new favorite and also I would argue, one of the closest ships you get to a Firefly class ship if you disregard the hidden stowaway compartments that currently are mostly a gimmick.

It have airlock. 2 elevators, damm I bought this ship and actually I did not see the second elevator, need to pay more attencion to my ship yup....missing alot of lights...and buttons no windows......no probleme, there is no space for more windows if you note, check the exterior. You can easly put doble SCU on this ship
the glass roof cockpit would make sense in-universe as like an optional component. It would be perfect with the pacific paint for like a commercial passenger transport vibe, somewhere the passengers can come take a look outside seeing as none of the rooms have windows.
I really like this ship, I melted my 400i for it and very please with the decision. The ship oozes personality and has great flexibility and utility, perfect for a small crew to have fun and get into trouble with. The living hab is very comfortable and immersive for RPers, the catwalk in the cargo lift provides a great place to manage crate stack from as your crew bring them in close to the sides and the rear vehicle bay is huge. The few things I don't like is that the co-pilot's hands actually cover up the MFDs on the dashboard and the radar is very difficult to see from the pilot seat. Yes, the cockpit view could be better, but it doesn't bother me, you get pretty panoramic framing from it when you are flying in atmosphere watching the sun rise and set. Nice tour, ty👍
A quick note: In the most recent patch, the Starlancer's VTOL thrusters where fixed. Really the only downsides to the MISC ships is their slow speed and mailbox cockpit view. Which admittedly is just personal preference. This is definitely a nice upgrade to my Feelancer Max.
Interesting how well the Starlancer handles. People were using its size as an excuse for why it has the old loadout of the Redeemer, citing the Redeemer would handle better. Clearly that's not the case now and yet another point in the long list of Redeemer nerfs.
The Hull A, Hull C, Prospector and now the Starlancer have a unified look and design style... I have a Freelancer and it looks like the odd ship out. Freelancer needs a final rework especially considering the VTOL wing function has been removed.
The staterooms should have been placed to the outer bulkheads and given each room a window, and there should have been a corridor strait through from the aft loading bay to the crew recreation area. Otherwise, I love my choice to buy this ship.
I like it! I'm not a fan of CIG's new fetish of putting a single radar display between the pilot and copilot--too small and hard to read. There's plenty of space between the MFDs to have a radar for everyone.
Thanks for showing some fast combat: I was a bit hesitant about this ship, especially the dark colours of the interior, but I like it, better then the metal surfaces in the Hull A and the light is less bluish then on the Hull A. The slit on the front cockpit doesn't bother me, as I'm used to civilian planes and I don't look forward to fight in the Starlancer unless provoked. Overall I'm likeing what I see and I will most probably push the CCU I have over it to get one in game.
Keep the Taurus for now... I expect more ships of this caliber to be released over the next 12 months or so, your Taurus will be waiting to upgrade to a ship perhaps even better than this one.
Took mine for a spin today. Did some load testing. You can fit 400 SCU on board with a combo of off grid & some 4SCU boxes. About 300 if you stick to 16/32 boxes. Nice!
Tempting, tempting, tempting! But yeah, WW2 Normandy bunker cockpit view is something we've had already with the Freelancer.. that aspect is a little bit underwhelming.
I'm also upgrading my Zues to this. Zues was extremely disappointing with the tiny cargo door and load as we say cargo grid. The extra $25 in value and $25 CCU savings helps too
Thanks once again for your in depth report on my new ship ..upgraded my Zeus to the Starlancer Max .. roll on 22nd … only one thing I would have loved to have seen was at least one tractor beam on the back 👍👍
With the angle of the door and ramp in the back, it looks like a tractor beam might have had clearance issues getting cargo into the back. On the plus side, there is still plenty of room for an ATLS or two alongside the cargo.
I would say almost the same, maybe a little better on Starlancer ,but that may be subjective. The website numbers shown are not correct as in the game.
If you want to fight, especially playing Solo. Choose the Taurus. You want to transport more Cargo and hope you don't have to fight, go for the Starlancer.
I have the max. It just feel that the ship isn’t quite done yet. Especially the interior. The pilots area for flying feels way cramped. The mailbox window slit leave’s visibility very limited. There is a wrap around feature but vertical visibility is limited… very limited. The interior panels lack the finish of other ships. In my opinion and it is only my opinion is that the ship was roughed out to get it in the pipeline. The galley has no opening appliances for storage or even a fridge to open, put the beers in and close it. The engineering space has no dedicated control panel. There is storage in each berthing compartment that can hold an armor suit, clothing and extra items, there are no medical facilities, but a medical it’s would fit in. These are just my observations. I do like the ship and can’t wait to see the tax variant.
... lol. Thank-you. I knew it reminded me of something; it was simply escaping me. That being said: I do like this unique-styling that is simultaneously sleek and utilitarian. I appreciate the design and engineering diversity across all of the manufacturers. It's one of CIG's premier assets in distinguishing their game and general game-craftsmanship. Incredibly immersive.

... this may be a silly-question: but are we certain we completely understand the function of this ship? I'm not entirely-sure if it was part of early conceptual-literature surrounding MISC... but the Recreation-Center looks an awful-lot like a false-front for an "exploration and data-hub" they had proposed at one-time. And... the Habitation Center has a remarkable resemblance to a uniquely integrated "server-center". There even appears to be a "radar and electronic-sensor mast" on the top of this ship. Is it possible that the co-pilot in this vessel is in the "sensor and radar-command suite"...? Is the MAX also an explorer and data-transport?
There won't be any nerfs until they've milked it dry for money first. Shame too because MISC is my favorite ship, but not going to spend anymore till they fix what I already have.
I flew my starlancer last night. It's easy to solo. I even took down some pirates. I was looking at the Polaris tho, and that ship might be hard to solo.
@infinitespace239 yeah. Sad the Polaris pilot only gets access to some missiles. It's an amazing ship, tho. But the Starlancer is definitely gonna be my new daily.
This should have been the Starlancer. The "MAX" SHOULD have been a stripped down, cargo-focused variant that so many people have commented about. imo, this ship is indicative of a problem with CIG and their design teams.
Compared to Ironclad, half the price and 15% the cargo. However, you can solo Starlancer with 4x size 4 weapons. With Ironclad they are all remote or manned turrets so need crew for defense. Would be more profitable with Ironclad + 1 or 2 friends; 3-way split will still be more than 1-way in Starlancer. Plus better defense.
... the "forced" group-play for the Iron-Clad... just doesn't feel-like the way-to-go. I hope they "reign-that-in" with some-type of mechanic that will allow the Iron-Clad to become a more "rightful" replacement for the Caterpillar. Group-play is just-too hit-or-miss; although... it is good... when it's "good".
I already got mine aswell but I am really on the fence with the mailbox view of the cockpit... Sadly there isnt really any other ship with that size Cargo that also can carry a Nursa for the same price
In my opinion 100% percent. You have double weapons. Better shields, more cargo more space. Everything. Only if you really like Zeus keep it. In everything else Starlancer is better.
Will make a video. But depends on what you want to do. If you want to fly like a brick, but more DPS, Corsair, if you want modern, all around ship, than Starlancer. o7
@@swaroopr34 ... I loved the Corsair, as well... but if there is one-thing CIG has taught us: it's to move-on; because they don't look-back nor go-back to improve old-designs, and we might-as-well enjoy the ride with the next, new shiny-thing.
I think there is a big chance that it gets its maneuvering nerfed but you also have to understand the size of the thrusters matter too. It might have less but if their bigger that means each one is providing more thrust.
I have the 600i so do not know if I moving to this from Freelancer Max is the way to go. Does look like a very nice ship though. I think once cargo weight actually matters having the walkways will be not as much of a downside as it will not be suitable to just stuff every space full.
Depends what you like. 600 i is still not getting reworked. I think they will just make a new version 2.0. In my opinion this ship is better for everyday living. Plus when you melt 600i you can get something extra for credits. And you can always upgrade back to 600i. o7
Once they rework the 600i it will be more useful. Don't get rid of it unless you melt it so you can at least buy it back. Once the 600i gets reworked I plan to fly it allot but until then I'm just not logging into the game.

And... the Habitation Center has a remarkable resemblance to a uniquely integrated "server-center". There even appears to be a "radar and electronic-sensor mast" on the top of this ship. Is it possible that the co-pilot in this vessel is in the "sensor and radar-command suite"...? Is the MAX also an explorer and data-transport?
Could be. Right now the copilot can't do much.
I can't believe you missed the actually (partly) working mirrors in the bathrooms lol. You always moved in a way to perfectly avoid looking at them.
At the time of making this video there were no reflections in game for this ship. o7
@infinitespace239 oh I didn't know. The first time I saw the ship ingame was during IAE, and there they were partly working.
This ship is great!
There won't be any nerfs until they've milked it dry for money first. Shame too because MISC is my favorite ship, but not going to spend anymore till they fix what I already have.
I dont know if i should upgrade to Starlancer MAX i think it will be hard to operate solo
Nah it is great
I plan on flying mine solo, upgraded off the Freelancer MAX and with a CCU and warbond upgrade saved $60.
I flew my starlancer last night. It's easy to solo. I even took down some pirates. I was looking at the Polaris tho, and that ship might be hard to solo.
@tylertiffin9067 Polaris is no solo you can only Pilot it.
@infinitespace239 yeah. Sad the Polaris pilot only gets access to some missiles. It's an amazing ship, tho. But the Starlancer is definitely gonna be my new daily.
It has VTOL like many other ships, non-rotating VTOL thrusters.
The lack of glass in cockpit is a mistake
This should have been the Starlancer. The "MAX" SHOULD have been a stripped down, cargo-focused variant that so many people have commented about. imo, this ship is indicative of a problem with CIG and their design teams.
Naah i love it. So satisfying ship.
2 more weeks till live, 2 more weeks till live, 2 more weeks till live.....
and while I cant wait to fly this ship...
GODS I WANT MY ODYSSEY!
Fly now i ptu.
How do you get that clean FPS and performance monitor in the lower right corner of your screen? What program is that, I need it!
It is Nvidia overlay, the new Nvidia app. You can set in settings pres alt + z
the dash is epic imo
I just don't dig the look of ironclad. But who likes ,yeah why not.
I am glad that i upgraded to this from zeus
I didn’t see any weapon racks for storage
In the lover part of the ship
"I think i'm gonna melt my Zeus." Wow, already? 🤣
I like the Zeus but it never hit that sweet place in my heart as for example C1 and this ship too.
@@infinitespace239 I still have my ES but I ccu'd the other two. It's a little to small for my taste I thought it was going to be a larger ship.
I already got mine aswell but I am really on the fence with the mailbox view of the cockpit... Sadly there isnt really any other ship with that size Cargo that also can carry a Nursa for the same price
what do you use for those monitoring tools bottom right? looks clean
Nvidia overlay, the new app
what is that armor you're wearing
Xian armor from CIG website
hmmm are you in the PTU cause its not on my list of flight ready ships
Yes just copy your live acc and rename it to PTU. Copy on the website of RSI your acc and hop in PTU and have fun with your new ship. o7
Is it worth upgrading from a Zeus ES to this for a (mostly) solo pilot?
In my opinion 100% percent. You have double weapons. Better shields, more cargo more space. Everything. Only if you really like Zeus keep it. In everything else Starlancer is better.
Personally, I would say no. Engineering is coming very soon and once it drops this ship won’t be really viable solo.
If you want to pick some fights go for the Conny.
If you just want to haul Cargo and want to loose every real fight, the Freelancer is a good choice.
@@infinitespace239 Honestly the only big things holding me back is the cockpit visibility and the engineering requirements
@@infinitespace239 The only downside I can see might trying to fit into some of the smaller landing pads at outposts.
Comparison with Corsair?
Will make a video. But depends on what you want to do. If you want to fly like a brick, but more DPS, Corsair, if you want modern, all around ship, than Starlancer. o7
@ o7
i love the Corsair so much I’ll keep it forever 🥲
@@swaroopr34 ... I loved the Corsair, as well... but if there is one-thing CIG has taught us: it's to move-on; because they don't look-back nor go-back to improve old-designs, and we might-as-well enjoy the ride with the next, new shiny-thing.
looks more maneuverable than a connie which doesn't make any sense considering that ship is lighter, with more maneuvering thrusters
maneuverability probably will be nerfed it felt so good to fly.
I think there is a big chance that it gets its maneuvering nerfed but you also have to understand the size of the thrusters matter too. It might have less but if their bigger that means each one is providing more thrust.
Sacrificed half the ships holding capacity for that dashboard 😂
Crazy lol 🤣 it is 2 m long
Should i apply my ccu from Taurus how does it compare speed and handling wise i have a emerald and Andromeda so i wouldn't be without a connie
Amazing, then go for it.Watch the whole video I tested it in fight and maneuverability. You don't need Taurus when you have two more. o7
soloing this makes u a target but its is a great ship.
Please can someone tell me what FPS Counter he has????
I ll tell you :D Nvidia overlay, new NVidia app.
@ really? I hate the old nvidia overlay. Doesn’t even work half the time. What’s the app called? It’s not the GeForce app?
@@Hector_Hotsauce Nvidia app, yeah new is amazing. you can customize fps counter how ever you want.
I have the 600i so do not know if I moving to this from Freelancer Max is the way to go. Does look like a very nice ship though. I think once cargo weight actually matters having the walkways will be not as much of a downside as it will not be suitable to just stuff every space full.
stick with 600i ...
When I saw this ship doesn't have a tractor beam, my hype died out instantly
Tractor beams on ships are bad never used them.
@@infinitespace239 I hear the one on the Taurus works really well but I've never heard good things about other ones.
Great video...now I am really thinking if I should buy it or no :D :D damn my wallet :D
Upgrade some ship that you don't use. Don't spend too much. o7
