@@juliancain6128 With the way they nerfed so many other ships into the ground, it would destroy their entire balance scheme to leave any Connie variant as is.
> The constellation series for many many years had access to 2 size 5s and 2 size 4s In 3.23 they adjusted the lower weapons to accept size 5s If they bring the weapons back to size 4s it would not be a big surprise. And at this point, makes sense to leave *all* ships of this size category to use the same sizes (Corsair pilot should control all guns, even if back to size 4s) > the gimball changes upped the game for eveything And now they are not happy with the results Perhaps it makes sense for fighters to have plenty of size 3s, but size 5s got too much for medium ships? The jump in quality from 4 to 5 is veeery big (better damage, worse speed) Size fixation has always been a characteristic of Star Citizen 😆
Corsair and Connie have the same pitch/yaw/roll speeds according to Erkul. Starlancer is twice the size of those 2 and has slightly better P/Y/R speed. Can guarantee that will be nerfed after IAE and sales window. Sorry, "corrected".
It should not maneuver at faster rate than ships much smaller in size and mass. At least not without having many more MAVs. Then again, physics have no point in CIG marketing.
Connie (andromeda) has 3x the HP, 2x the missiles and 4xs5 pilot controlled guns and a included snub fighter and 2 turrets with great coverage and 2xs3 weapons each. Oh and it's also got 96 scu of cargo vs corsair 72 scu.
It's designed for usability. It's the polar opposite to the Zeus, which has maximised, but hardly usable cargo space. Starlancer has very low cargo capacity for its size, but the cargo is very usable and accessible
That's why I'm excited about it. It's got the best living area, and most polished interior of any ship in the verse. If I were only wanting versatility, the taurus is still king
@@gabzsy4924 how can you guarantee that? If things like that aren't a point in the design, why are there kitchens and bathrooms in the ships at all? Or pool tables, swimming pools, hot tubs, etc. None of those things has any use in the game outside of role-playing, which means it is absolutely part of the game design
@@jdodds1612 role playing and selling e belivable ship are two separate things. Also, amenities are part of the survival gameplay and are planned to matter in the future, so kitchens will be essential to feed yourself, bathrooms for maintaining hygiene, pool tables, swimming pools and hot tubs to either keep morale high or to cather to your guests, either NPc or not, in luxury touring ships. So all of these things will have a gameplay associated with them, role-playing or not. You can role play for sure and power to you if you want, but not the intended design purpose.
I love the Corsair design...but it flies like a brick. I see the Starlancer Max as an upgrade to the Taurus. Holds slightly more cargo AND a vehicle. Plus the connies really need an interior refresh. They can't compete against the highly detailed quarters of the Starlancer.
This is why i actually downgraded to a Zeus MK2 CL from the taurus, because honestly, i find it easier for me to do many well rounded tasks and the interior and exits are just more to my liking. Its worse for combat but honestly, I'm not running RTs just bunkers/fps. I would like to use the star lancer max or tac. I honestly want a solid solo VHRT capable ship that isn't going to get nerfed or as connie variant. I don't really like the connie designs. never did.
Let's be real. If you're soloing, you're not going to be fighting in any of these ships unless you're specifically doing NPC combat missions. In terms of combat, forget the weapons, forget the dps. The only variables that matter are signature size, maneuverability, speed, visibilty, or any other factors that let you detect hostile ships and jump away before other players can disable you. There's zero percent chance CIG retires the Connie. However, it will have to grow in size, just like the freelancer has to, and may end up being closer in size to the Starlancer.
... you're right: they won't retire the name... but it will "essentially" be a new-ship developed from "the ground-up" reflecting their latest game-design strategies and game-balance within the evolving ship-ecosystem.
@@RoyHobbs-f4v Yeah, I wouldn't expect capabilities or "general outside shape" to change radically, just the hab and engineering stuff which will require a complete redesign since they didn't think about that stuff when it was made.
I still love the Connie so much. It needs a rework, but I really think it makes such a fun ship. I wish it had a ramp and I wish the visibility was a bit better from the helm, but besides that, the Connie will always be my first love
I've had all 3 ships, all are very good but it comes down to personal preference. I don't like the looks of the Conni and the loading ramp can only be loaded from the front and rear, which is awkward. But it's got A LOT of missiles and great firepower. I'm not a fan of the massive wonky wings of the Corsair and the depressing interior, but it's battlefield prowess is very strong. The Starlancer imo, is astonishing, I love it. 228scu AND a vehicle bay! The bays are very accessible and the interior is lush. All 3 ships have the same amount of fuses to manage for engineering, but the Starlancer has them all in the same place, which makes it much easier to deal with. StarMAX gets my vote, handling it in the PTU has been a lot of fun👍
People are always counting on being able to stack cargo freely but this won't always be the case. Eventually those boxes will fly around under Gs and get wrecked + damage your ship.
I feel like on the max, in the living quarters section they should cut out one of the elevators and shift all the rooms to either the port or starboard side, eliminating one of those hallways. It's a big misuse of space, and with the space they reclaim, this ship could easily have a small medical bay in it. That's really the biggest fault with the ship imo. Just a little bit of wasted internal space. Everything else is great.
The sad thing is the Taurus will get an update. It's not gold standard and won't work as is in the final game just like a lot of the old ships. Sad thing is CIG has used this as an opportunity to push even more ship sales. Like they did with the Hornet series. Instead of giving existing owners the badly needed update they released a Hornet MkII which can be yours for the low low price of x. The current owners? Well according to CIG they get a piece of Star Citizen history. SMH
@Jeddingfry ... I do believe you are right. We will only see a MKII. However... I also believe those that originally purchased-it, in-store, will be appropriately compensated before a final game-state is achieved. My personal-theory is that we will see an publicly-traded SC digital-currency, shortly. I'm certain this is why there have been so many developmental-delays, and why CIG has been so maddeningly focused on the quantum-server-mesh. This will be the compensation "backers" receive as we slowly come to realize that all ships, even the newer-ones, will need to be rebuilt and reconfigured, one-more-time, before a balanced and functional final-ship-ecosystem can be launched.
recently fell back in love with the Andromeda during the Idris missions, 1st of 3 a group of players showed up just after the Idris was immobilized, while they attacked the other players also doing the mission I took out 3 of them, the last one a Hornet jumped just before I could pop his ship, in the 3rd go got interdicted by 4 players on my way to the incursion site, none of them lived. Connie is a beast sometimes lol
On the topic of the components, there's also power draw to consider. Personally like the 7A "NARGUN" shields for lancer since it has 4 individual pips over 4+1. As for the quantum drive youre very off the mark. The cooldown time is the biggest difference between them all and it comes with the second best QT drive. Only a .25 difference between it and the next fastest cooldown
Now that I've flown the Starlancer Max, I don't really want to fly a Conni or Corsair anymore... you can see how old the design is... and I love the Max...^^
i would still fly the connie because even though its an old design everything works on it. Has good firepower, has tractor beam, has bed, good cockpit view, etc
Even if I don’t want it to I will understand if they nerf the starlancer max since it does feel more maneuverable than it should be for a ship of its size but for now I will enjoy my max till the day and I will prob still enjoy it since I love flying the 600i in combat missions and its pretty sluggish
Upgraded from a Constellation Taurus to the Starlancer Max, absolutely love it. But the Taurus will always be in my heart as it started my single player journey. Fantastic Ship
They give the tiny zeus a tractor beam but can't give one to the max? "Ok I'm going to walk 300 yards out of the cockpit to pick up a box like a peasant".
Having had all of them, the SLM is my favorite. Finally melted my beloved Taurus because I'm just tired of waiting for it to get the refresh it so desperately needs. Considering they're allegedly CR's favorite ship, it's kind of sad that the Constellations have just been left to rot. I can only assume they're going to bin the current version and start teasing a Connie 2.0 before much longer.
About the Corsair nerf: 4xS4 + 2xS3 is exactly the same DPS than 2S5 + 2S4 with the extra bonus of still retaining the additional 2xS5 if there's a second crew member. They didn't choose the dumbest option, it's indeed the best between those two options. What they need to do now is to modify the copilot 2xS5 into a remote turret.
Nope. You would have more. Copilot could actually use the turret above, then you would have more DPS and copilot will not feel like retard pressing fire when pilot targets. o7
@@infinitespace239 nope. 4xS4 + 2xS3 is exactly the same DPS than 2S5 + 2S4. With the second option the copilot has 2xS5 or 2xS2, with the first one only 2xS2. The option chosen by CIG is just better as it provides more DPS with an extra crew member. Some numbers (using attritions, reduce the numbers a 10% for cannons): HARDPOINT SIZE REDUCTION (4S4+2S3): (4S4) 1179 x 4 = 4716 (2S3) 786 x 2 = 1572 Total pilot firepower: 4716 + 1572 = 6288 Bonus: Copilot firepower: 582 x 2 = 1164 ----------------------------------------------- CURRENT CORSAIR (2S5+2S4): (2S5) 1965 x 2 = 3930 (2S4) 1179 x 2 = 2358 Total pilot firepower: 3930 + 2358 = 6288 Bonus: Copilot firepower: 1965 x 2 = 3930
Wait until the Banu Super Serious series comes out. That will make the SLMax look like dirt. It will only cost you $75 more than the SLMax but oh boy it will be worth it.
I would main the Constellation Aquila if the interiors of it wouldn’t be that horrible. The Phoenix layout of 2 decks should be the main on non-cargo variants (aquila, phoenix and andromeda). The thing is, if somebody forces the crew to sleep in bunkbeds inside the bridge where all of the action happens, and give them a toilet that looks like it’s freshly stolen from a present day construction site, give lockers that looks the same as higschoolers have, meanwhile have zero ways to have some off duty isolation in a mess hall or in a private cabin, then the design should be either military issued, or employer issued. Since commercially speaking noone would want to have a ship like that , and to fly it for weeks in a voyage or on a trading route, since its uncomfortable. Only bosses who would sacrifice their employee’s comfort to save budget would buy that.
Time saving comment here: Combat: Taurus Cargo: Max Don't use the andromeda. Its a worse taurus. All has the same maneuverability. Max has 1 degree more pitch and yaw which is nothing in turn it's slow af in scm
dromi has tons of missiles 2 gun emplacements and a snub also a shit load of more hitpoints which helps with the engines alone that makes no difference though
@@Warsheep2k6 The Andromeda has not so much more hitpoints. In total yes. But only because the Conny has so many parts. If you compare Nose or Body HP it's not a big difference.
I do not understand the arguments about "wasted space" on the starlancer, specifically about the habitation area and the "small" cargo area. Not only is the cargo already good, but you can easily cram so much more in there because the grids don't waste any space. Other cargo ships waste so much space by having the grids not touch any walls, but don't leave enough space to place any notable amount of extra cargo inside, which rarely still leaves space for something like an ATLS. The starlancer can easily fit **475*** SCU inside, and still have room for an ATLS because the back ramp has such a light slope that you can park it on the ramp with no issues. Even if the hab area was smaller, it's not like CIG would have given it even more cargo space, if it had more room it would certainly have been given worse grids. The actual problem with it is the storage, and MFD change. Misc gun racks are *terrible*, 4 rifles and 6 pistols with no ammo space with the internal storage literally on the opposite side of the ship is criminal on a ship of this size. I understand something like that on the Hull-C, the crew are only going to be in a situation where they need to arm themselves if they're being boarded, but the Starlancer is a multi-purpose ship that's much more likely to see action of all kinds. Why do they have the same gun racks, and who's idea was it to put the only external storage in the crew cabins? As for the MFDs, yes they look nicer but it's a pain in the ass to have to free-look down to see anything, and it's even worse if you wanted to use them in combat. Only having 2 now isn't that bad but placing them below your sightline is awful. There probably isn't much that can be done about the storage since that's an issue with the fundamental design of the ship, but I hope that at least the pilot interface gets an update eventually. Maybe a change to the model to bring the screens up higher. Also more windows, I live on a space ship, not a submarine, you can only see the outside from the cockpit and the sides of the cargo bay. Even the reclaimer has better windows than this, and the reclaimer is a flying garbage truck. There are so many places that would be perfect for windows, specifically in the common area and hab hallways. those two spots would be perfect for windows.
Also since it has the signature Misc cockpit view, having to look down to see the MFDs can not only restrict your view of the outside, but also the radar, so when you look down to change something on an MFD, you're effectively blind if you're solo or aren't using voice comms.
also also, very small thing, even though they would be absolutely terrible, I wish misc ships had cockpit blast doors for the front. Main reason is that I like to log off on planets, so opening the blast door when i get into the pilot seat would be very nice for light RP.
I know ppl love the connie taurus but the starlancer is just so great. If ypur not into aesthetic whatsoever then sure the connie is great. But i want nice rooms, nice spaces and a ship to actually feel livable in this game. Starlancer checks more boxes than a taurus imo with similar downsides
Le Connie nécessite un gros rework de son intérieur. Ca ne peut pas être comparé au Starlancer qui vient de sortir et bénéficie donc de toutes les dernières avancées des studios de developpement.
I had no idea about the corsair nerfs since mine was erased in the last update and I haven't played for a few months. How many guns does the pilot actually have control of now? Erkul website shows 4x = S5 and 2x = S4
It has 3 more people on the cockpit, so 1 each of them control 1 of the bottom pilot guns , and giving pilot control of only the top 2 S4 guns, that would align with SC "meaningful and tactical" multi crew system
Newer doesn't always mean better. Is the Connie outdated? you say yes but I love the Connie's simplistic layout that lets you get around the ship quickly. Half the good looking rooms in the new ships is just eye candy and lacks any purpose in the game right now. Not to mention doors and elevators everywhere slowing me down.
starlancer max vs Constellation Taurus - i'll keep my Taurus outdated mybe but tried tested work horse that suits me and my gameplay bounties and hauling my refined minerals
I have Star Runner (only just because I love her), i have Andromeda, i have Apollo Medivac, I'm thinking about getting an F8C Lightning. I already had a Carrack and I thought about getting the Polaris, but most of the time I thought I was either alone or with 1 or 2 friends at most, so it doesn't justify it.
Great video, melted the Corsair for a santok yai and realized I needed a daily driver and the star lancer came out. Glad it’s sexier and better than a Corsair for now 😂
I think the Connie fo solos is still the king. I like the rear door on the Corsair but could do without the wings lol. I think the may nerf the manuvering of the SL at somepoint. Yeah Connie Taurus for solos I think, for multi use. The SL is better for pure cargo.
I heard the coni will need to the ground... They legit said 4 s4 and piolet only comtrols 2 guns and the co-piolet controls the other 2... Also of you see the CIG says the coni is a min of 3 man crew for the ship
Source? None of the devs got that specific about the weapons or even a downgrade just an "overhaul". It isn't even logical since Corsair got nerfed and still got 2xs5 and 2xs4 pilot controlled weapons left and it is the direct contender to the Connie. No need in buffing Connie weapons from 2xs5 and 2xs4 up to 4xs5 just to downgrade it again and making it even worse than before with giving it only 4xs4 and not even all pilot controlled🤦♂️ Corsair fanboys just going wild with their nerf wishes out of jealousy!🤷🏻♂️
@Fotomoloman well I hope your right cause I love the coni, I had the Taurus for running cargo than I found I can solo bounties and do ruto missions and vans I was hooked
@@biolazer Yeah i'm somewhat of a Connie collector.🤣 Had a Taurus and now i'm flying a Phoenix and an Andromeda. Honestly one of the best ships rn if you want to keep it solo and not fly a little single seater!👌
@@biolazer Duuuuuuuude, selling / melting one of few (if not the only) "small" hull limited ships is insane!🤣 was the first and last time i camped every single ship sell wave to get myself one of those hot selling limited ships!😅
And to reply to the main question: 600i xD I really really like open cockpits, and all 3 of these ships in the video have struts or, in Max case, a handicap. But 600i is by far worst in agility, cargo and HP... which is acceptable under the promise of a rework (which all old ships will eventually get) Of these 3 I probably pick the constellation because I like it since 2012, so nostalgia really makes this unfair to the others. The nerfs to corsair were brutal, the eventual downsize on Constellation guns is bearable and the future nerf to Starlancer agility will be annoying but ok
1) In your video you said there is a plan by CIG to nerf the Andromeda down to size 4 pilot weapons, is that confirmed? 2) If they are going to nerf the weapons of the Andromeda, don't you think they will nerf the Andromeda and the Starlancer's maneuverability given they are larger than the Corsair? If the Andromeda is nerfed, what do you think would be better fully crewed for a good combat AND all rounder: the MAX or the Andromeda?
1) I don't think its confirmed anywhere but just speculation as what happened to Corsair. 2) If they did nerf the Andromeda they would boost it in another capacity ,like manoeuvrability, to compensate. If the Andromeda is nerfed the the Max would be better combat and all rounder because of the bigger turrets and ability to have rover and cargo.
No, there is no such plan. The Andromeda was always planned to have Size 5 weapons. Only recently did it get the actual planned weapons loadout since it still had the not planned Size 4 weapons. The "rumors" are thus far only people who complain that the corsair lost its 6 pilot weapons. IMO a better way to buff it again would be to make it faster since it has those huge engines. Not nerf another ship.
I upgraded my Taurus to the MAX. I have a feeling they are going to nerf the MAX's maneuverability though. The C2 used to be too maneuverable for it's size and it's been nerfed a bit.
I don't think they will nerf the max tbh, Size isn't the only thing to consider in manoeuvrability, it's the overall design. The starlancer max makes sense to be more manoeuvrable visually, compared to a big rectangle or a cheese wedge.
... I know I say this about every new Explorer/Industrial shiny-thing from CIG... but... I think I'm in-love with the MAX. And... I just said the same-thing a week-ago about the Zeus-ES. I hope I can keep the Zeus from finding-out about my relationship with the MAX... for a little-longer.
Wish the andromeda nacelles would fold up so it could land closer to the ground, and get rid of the bars across the center of your vision. It looks a bit ridiculous on the hind (only), gear standing up so high off of the ground. Ingress and egress isn’t much different between it and the Starlancer but it feels more painful to me for some reason.
Star lancer max requires at least 1 other player, especially once engineering comes online. Bc of that, constellation still remains king for Solo players.
The Starlancer and the Constellation have the same amount of fuses to manage... so when engineering comes online, they will both be the same in this context.
This game is going to require AI blades and NPCs to stay viable. That's just a requirement. So yes, the Starlancer Max will be very viable solo. With a few AI blades in the turrets and an NPC doing engineering.
What makes you say the Corsair is the slowest and least maneuverable while the MAX is more nimble? On erkul and spviewer, the Corsair's speed and maneuverability are listed as exactly the same as the Andromeda, while the MAX has 1 degree better maneuverability but almost half the scm speed (200 scm for corsair/connie and 115 for max.) The nav speed of the MAX is also slower, but not by much. Is it more of a feel thing? Or are the stats glitched?
@@igorborracini5722 It is a wrong. Take Corsair and Max and try to maneuver them you will see massive differences. It should not be happening but it is for some reason. Maybe mass or something else, but MaX is heavy.
Hopefully the corsair gets rebalanced properly. Same for F8C. IMO they should all only have s4 guns, with corsair back to the original 4xs4 +2xs3 all pilot controlled again.
Starlancer Tac vs Connie is more where it's at IMO. And honestly that's just multi-crew power vs solo-pilot power, the Tac is just better in a lot of ways, but it doesn't has as much pilot firepower, and is a bigger/slower target. The post-nerf corsair is just a shameful pile of parts to cry over.
Love your Vids bro and you make fair points but TBH in this comparison the max is a cargo ship you should be comparing the TAC with the Corsair and the Connie, Thats same kinda Ships and in that the TAC OWN them Both SO bad LOL med beds MASSIVE Pew PEw, Drop ability AND a SNUB fighter no comparison AND EVEN MORE CARGO I mean WTF lol
conny taurus.... best ship in game and will never change. Chris Roberts has said his favorite ship is constellation phoenix. So i don't see connys getting nerfed anytime soon! great vid as always brother!
with you there with the Taurus, I was nearly tempted to upgrade it to the max but I just can't do it, sure it doesn't carry as much cargo but it more than makes up for that with the ease and speed you can load and unload, the amazing tractor beam, size 5 weapons and is easy to solo pilot with but can be great with a friend or two as well
taurus is a great ship if you don't care about looks, because the interior sucks. Needs to be completely redone. I ran taurus missions to buy a C2 (before price increases).
@@rscrillz6979 call me crazy but i actually like that it looks a bit bare bones and ancient on the inside, gives me a bit of an older sci-fi feel to it :) that said I would love them to give it a gold pass!
Go to the 3.24.3 PTU, get into Arena Commander and rent it. In the PTU you get a ton of REC to test with so it's free. You won't be able to do hauling or missions, but you can get a good feel for the ship.
Love your content, but in this case you might be premature in the review. We need to wait for after the post-launch nerf of the Starlancer. Also since cooling is not too important right now, I have been swapping out to stealth coolers as they get the job done using less power than other coolers, freeing power for. my weapons, shields and engines.
Starlancer might have other advantages, but the only corsair only did 2 things better than the connies, that was range and firepower, although the connies did bridge that with a lot of missiles, now the corsair only does 1 thing out of everything better than the connies
@ the Corsair still has better range than the Connie’s, and it has the better interior by far, and has a rear loading ramp which is superior to an elevator when landing on planets. It also is also VERY close to the firepower of the Connie’s.
You said best would be 4 size 4 and 2 size 3... try that in the calculator... i think its same or even less damge than its now woth 2x5 and 2x4. PLUS your ship would be qlso weaker with crew, now its only weaker when solo
Yes, less pilot weapons, but than your copilot could use turret with sx3. That means more dps. That would be logical nerf and copilot could actually do something. Or mybe 6x4 for pilot and all good. But nooo, stupid.
@infinitespace239 I am also not happy with the nerf. There are many ways this could have been handled better. I love the corsair for it's looks. It feels like a bounty hunter or smuggler ship from star wars. Ship like the mandolorian had for example, or also a bit like the ship from Fallen Order. I like the non symmetric design, the wings, the industrial interior... simply everything feels perfect for my taste and I don't understand why they even nerfed it at all, it has other downsides like the bad manoverability, the speed, you are a big target. The shields and hull are also weaker than andromeda, no snub, less missles... the firepower was really the only outstanding thing that was speaking for this ship from the technical standpoint. Since the constellations all have 4x s5 guns the corsair should keep at least these guns and I even think the 2 additional s 4 on the wings where justified because of all the other downsides that it has. It's the compromise people made for the max firepower. It's really sad. They must fix the corsair..giving the front guns to the Co pilot is really extremely stupid. Why should the Co pilot separately control 2 out of 4 guns that all point in the same direction. Such decisions really make me doubt the mental state of the people behind this
@@cotikusDude wtf you're talking about. Multicrew is in the game since the first ship came out with more than 1 pilot seat and turrets to be manned. But yeah: tell all those Polaris, Hammerhead and even more ship owners that multicrew isn't in the game yet.😂 only bc engineering will make it more difficult to operate those ships doesn't mean they'll get unusable for solo players, just not ideal usable like now. But sadly it's true that the devs going to push multicrew hard and want solo players to only man puny single seater fighters!🤷🏻♂️
@@Fotomoloman Are you mad? Game dont have engineers and other multicrew systems. In future you need crew for many ships. Just read the multicrew concept.
you do realise that 4 size 4s and 2 size 3s would actually be worse off than just 2 size 5s alone? not even taking into consideration upcoming armor changes that will result in smaller caliber guns not being able to penetrate as efficiently. so what you're saying regarding the corsair is you'd rather they had nerfed it 2x more than what they did? I think people are way over reacting to the nerf regarding the corsair, I'm still currently soloing ERT's with it just takes a little longer, what id like them to do is leave those size 5s with the co pilot and change the upper turret to be a scanning dish like whats on the terrapin and the cutter scout, that would truly make it an "exploration" ship.
Im a die hard Drake fan and fuck them for nerfing Corsair in such a dumb way. They should have just taken the S4 guns away from the pilot but then again thats Drakes whole fucking thing put as many guns on a ship as they can...
@@bengray8686 Same. Especially since it was such a blatant cash grab move to sell this Starlancer and the upcoming heavy fighters in the next year. And their excuse was pathetic. "it accounts for to many PVE kills". Well yeah, their AIs suck and their servers are dirt slow. So yeah a glass cannon is going to tee up on them. They just sit there. Fix that. Bring in armor and everything else. And the corsair is a fragile sitting duck with a massive amount of guns. Exactly as intended. Also, you want me to believe they don't have their ship's shield, armor, hull, speed, agility, and dps progression mapped out already? With each manufacturers "unique characteristics". Drake is the fragile glass cannons.
@@deutschhhhh6922 No it wasn't. It was a pirate ship. And the "Drake" uniqueness was as a DPS tank. Every manufacturer has their Unique take on ships. Some are HP tanks. Some are shield tanks. Some are armor (when it comes out) tanks. And some are speed tanks. Drake was a DPS tank. Even before the nerf in PVP it got destroyed. And with actually functional AI and Server response in PVE it would have been destroyed. Only reason it seemed OP is because CIG can't get their AI or servers straight. So yeah an NPC just sitting there unresponsive letting a glass cannon tee up on it will get annihilated.
to be honest CIG have killl the corsair and don't respect DRAKE drake is known for being overarmed, low resistance and basic interior for me the best choise for a nerf is 6 size 4 i'm ok for the nerf of the shield BUT his name is the corsair THE CORSAIR respect that i love this ship but he became a shadow of himself the cony have more dps now for the pilot more maneuverable more hp if CIG don't make a little change for the corsair i really hope a nerf for the cony with 4 size 4 i don't like the cockpit of the connie but is a good ship now is the best for ERT etc the starlancer is a very good ship for now i have nothing to say he respect the MISC spirit big cargo nice interior the competition is tough between it's 3 ships but really sad for the corsair nice video bro like always
Starlancer Max vs Taurus: Starlancer has 50k less hull HP, less SCM speed, less QT & hydrogen fuel, way less firepower, splitted cargospace, no tractorbeam, triple expedite/claim time, very limited cockpit view... the ONLY thing being a positive aggainst the taurus is the overall higher cargospace but i doubt thats really that necessary for ERT/vaughn contracts. & for cargo hauling you can use a C2 / M2 anyways... && since the nerf, the corsair is dead anyways. Taurus wins but we will see if connies will get one weapon size smaller
The roumors came from Corsair fanboys that are mad that they're not owning the total one for everything op machine anymore and now they are crying to the devs to nerf Connies. Pledged myself a Taurus and that's honestly the only viable option if you want doable solo content / allround experience like proper hauling AND VHRTs and ERTs without being forced to crew up for a bigger ship! Punching the Connies down would force a solo player like me to be stuck with fighters or other very limited capability ships. Had the most fun ever since in my Connie and hope they'll leave it as it is, even if it's "old" compared to the newer ones those ships are still "old but gold"😂❤
даже зевс сейчас лучше чем Андромеда и Taurus. Новый, быстрый, маневреный и очень удобный. Рабочая лошадка. Подумаю ещё менять ли мне Зевса на Starlancer. играю в соло.
I love the Starlancer, but very much dislike it's tiny viewport in the cockpit and its useless wings. still bought an upgrade to it, but it could be better
Purchased a corsair to replace my connie as its so unpleasant to fly, its almost unusable in atmosphere and has a horrible cockpit for me and the inside of the ship is so drab and casket like with that dumb snub fighter that basically is just there to explode. I am pretty torn because I am holding out hope that they will balance the corsair properly instead of what they did but it sucks. I do like the max allot and its my new daily driver for most mission profiles. But its really hard to put down the Constellation because it's stats are just stupidly wanked. it has over 100k health as the max with the same shielding. I would have liked more windows on the Starlancer the living area of the ship is bright and warm and feels very comfy to me and while its silly this ship has so many elevators its quick and easy to move around the ship the a great 2 deck layout. While slow she handles and responds better to pilot control and moves around even in rough atmosphere's like hurston or microtech without too much trouble thanks to her big chunky under belly thrusters. Just fun to fly for me even if the cockpit view isn't inspiring the bridge itself makes the ship easy to control for 1-3 people, all from one spot.
The Connie has been broken for so long. I melted all of mine. I wont get them back .They need to finish what they have. Instead, they will nerf it to sell something new and phase them out.
For solo ert combat and daily driver I'll take the connie. That center pilot chair and better view keeps me going back to Connie. The slit view and left side pilot chair of sl max is a big no for me. I find sl max beautiful and ugly at the same time if I am that conflicted with ship I stick with the connie for now. I had corsair too and still fly it out every now and then, but got deleted last patch. 😢 Edit: if nerf hammer drops. Sl max maneuverability will probably get hit. For connie probably shields its a gunship as base so gun size will probably left alone. But there are rumors that rsi has dev bias so maybe it won't get nerf.
I know you probably just chose random ballistic turrets for a solo player, but for future reference Revenants are better than AD4B's: similar dps, same total firing ammo time, but faster velocity. Also, for coolers Steath grade A coolers are very good too, not for the stealth but because they are the most efficient power wise (2 power on a stealth A (which is fully powered) outputs more cooling than 2 power on a military A (which would be half powered))
@@infinitespace239 Yeah, but it has really low cargo for the size, 96, against the Taurus 168. Remember, the Zeus CL has 128 as a small ship, it's hard to reason for Andromeda if you want to use it as a cargo ship.
Starlancer cant really be compared to the connie or corsair. Its much larger and requires a larger crew to fully come online. This is like compairing the C1 to the aroura or avenger
@infinitespace239 completely disagree. Prices in this game mean absolutely nothing. The tumbril nova and drake cutlass black only have a $10 standalone price difference and nobody is making comparisons with those
Both the Corsair and the Starlancer are built for a Crew of 4, share the same component sizes, shielding and have similar weaponry. It's more like comparing the Zeus with the Cutlass/ Spirit/ Freelancer: same class, better amenities and more expensive. Or if you prefer, the Starlancer is the Nomad of the medium/large tier.
The Starlancer requires no more to operate than the Constellation series... they both have the same amount of fuses to manage when engineering comes online.
Just want to clear some things:
1.I used RSI Andromeda because i didn't have Taurus.
2. Nerfing of Cony are the roomers, forgot to say it in video. o7
... I think the rumors are real. They will downsize those weapons.
@@RoyHobbs-f4v I'll be honestly surprised if they do, they just beefed them up - Maybe Taurus and Aquila, but Andromeda is a Gunship.
@@juliancain6128 ... that's fair. I agree.
@@juliancain6128 With the way they nerfed so many other ships into the ground, it would destroy their entire balance scheme to leave any Connie variant as is.
> The constellation series for many many years had access to 2 size 5s and 2 size 4s
In 3.23 they adjusted the lower weapons to accept size 5s
If they bring the weapons back to size 4s it would not be a big surprise. And at this point, makes sense to leave *all* ships of this size category to use the same sizes (Corsair pilot should control all guns, even if back to size 4s)
> the gimball changes upped the game for eveything
And now they are not happy with the results Perhaps it makes sense for fighters to have plenty of size 3s, but size 5s got too much for medium ships? The jump in quality from 4 to 5 is veeery big (better damage, worse speed)
Size fixation has always been a characteristic of Star Citizen 😆
I just bought the Starlancer, it will probably be my mobile base for a long time.
Corsair and Connie have the same pitch/yaw/roll speeds according to Erkul. Starlancer is twice the size of those 2 and has slightly better P/Y/R speed. Can guarantee that will be nerfed after IAE and sales window. Sorry, "corrected".
Not sure if it's necessary. The Starlancer is such a huge target with the same shields. This alone makes it worse for combat.
It should not maneuver at faster rate than ships much smaller in size and mass. At least not without having many more MAVs. Then again, physics have no point in CIG marketing.
To be honest it’s to maneuverable it should be somewhere in between the Corsair and 600i but I would be happy if they kept it this way
Connie (andromeda) has 3x the HP, 2x the missiles and 4xs5 pilot controlled guns and a included snub fighter and 2 turrets with great coverage and 2xs3 weapons each. Oh and it's also got 96 scu of cargo vs corsair 72 scu.
The starlancer is the slowest of the three, has the same shields and a hitbox twice the size. If it gets nerfed it won't be by much.
I think what people are missing with the Starlancer is that its designed with roleplay and livability in mind. At least thats how it seems to me
It's designed for usability.
How are people missing a totally subjective and personal point of yours? Roleplay is not a point of design I can guarantee you that 😅
@@gabzsy4924 how can you guarantee that?
My point exactly . o7

I'm going to be flying the Starlancer MAX for a good while as my daily. My Conny will be parked at Seraphim for ERTs
I changed my fleet to a Starlancer MAX and TAC.
Mine too, love the MAX
... the Starlancer... is an absolute thing-of-beauty. CIG pushed all-the-right-buttons on this-one...
Starlancer doesnt have all the relays in the same place. 2 are in engineering & 1 is in the bridge. But really good locations for them.
Everything else is great.
i'm still using Taurus and i love it for ERT
... she's the OG. No-one will ever forget the Taurus. She was a kind-mistress... to many.
Taurus is still the king of its class. I'll die on this hill and will never melt mine. Corsair? yuck. Starlancer? Double eww!
@@RoyHobbs-f4v I certainly hope so. They didn't do that with Hornet owners. But hopefully they make that right.
recently fell back in love with the Andromeda during the Idris missions, 1st of 3 a group of players showed up just after the Idris was immobilized, while they attacked the other players also doing the mission I took out 3 of them, the last one a Hornet jumped just before I could pop his ship, in the 3rd go got interdicted by 4 players on my way to the incursion site, none of them lived.
Corsair isn’t old design, it’s just drake 😂
i would still fly the connie because even though its an old design everything works on it.

Congratulations 👏 Nice ship you have. o7
They give the tiny zeus a tractor beam but can't give one to the max? "Ok I'm going to walk 300 yards out of the cockpit to pick up a box like a peasant".
They gave it a vehicle bay instead, for using an atlas or other vehicles for cargo handling.

Thank you. I have not looked into it. But for now use stealth coolers. They need less power and coolers are still not implemented in the game. o7
Some numbers (using attritions, reduce the numbers a 10% for cannons):
HARDPOINT SIZE REDUCTION (4S4+2S3):
(4S4) 1179 x 4 = 4716
(2S3) 786 x 2 = 1572
Total pilot firepower: 4716 + 1572 = 6288
Bonus: Copilot firepower: 582 x 2 = 1164
-----------------------------------------------
CURRENT CORSAIR (2S5+2S4):
(2S5) 1965 x 2 = 3930
(2S4) 1179 x 2 = 2358

And then the Taurus said: Hold my beer.

I checked today it was on. Check again. o7
QD's are not all the same. Distance/fuel yeah, but cooldown time after a long jump differs. How quick you can jump to the next spot.

Rummers that I heard from other players.
I had no idea about the corsair nerfs since mine was erased in the last update and I haven't played for a few months. How many guns does the pilot actually have control of now? Erkul website shows 4x = S5 and 2x = S4
2xs5 2xs4, not bad still but stupid way to nerf it
It has 3 more people on the cockpit, so 1 each of them control 1 of the bottom pilot guns , and giving pilot control of only the top 2 S4 guns, that would align with SC "meaningful and tactical" multi crew system
connie has the table back, 10/10 can't recomend it more. (but yeah i feel like you said all the things ive been feeling about these ships.)

In PU 3.23.2a, Corsair has 2x S5 & 2x S4 pilot guns. I still use it for ERTs, but prefer a Taurus for its cargo capacity and firepower
And to reply to the main question: 600i xD
I really really like open cockpits, and all 3 of these ships in the video have struts or, in Max case, a handicap. But 600i is by far worst in agility, cargo and HP... which is acceptable under the promise of a rework (which all old ships will eventually get)
Of these 3 I probably pick the constellation because I like it since 2012, so nostalgia really makes this unfair to the others. The nerfs to corsair were brutal, the eventual downsize on Constellation guns is bearable and the future nerf to Starlancer agility will be annoying but ok
I am going split on PP and coolers
One best performance one military
Eddit: source of info that connie is going to 4x S4?
1) In your video you said there is a plan by CIG to nerf the Andromeda down to size 4 pilot weapons, is that confirmed?
2) If they are going to nerf the weapons of the Andromeda, don't you think they will nerf the Andromeda and the Starlancer's maneuverability given they are larger than the Corsair?
If the Andromeda is nerfed, what do you think would be better fully crewed for a good combat AND all rounder: the MAX or the Andromeda?
Connie nerfs aren't confirmed or even mentioned by cig. Its just players complaining about the corsair "nerf"
@@TonicCantaloupe This are roomers, but it could happen. I still prefer Max to be honest.

The Starlancers speed is 1 of the slowest in game for big ships - so its maneuverability countered by its ultra slow flight speed

My main gripe about the star lancer is its cargo space. Vehicle Transport is great but cargo grids are to tight!
Wish the andromeda nacelles would fold up so it could land closer to the ground, and get rid of the bars across the center of your vision. It looks a bit ridiculous on the hind (only), gear standing up so high off of the ground. Ingress and egress isn’t much different between it and the Starlancer but it feels more painful to me for some reason.
... I think you will see those complaints addressed in its replacement.
It will be the Starlancer. Until the ship sale is over. Then it will be whatever ship they're marketing next.
I don't like the wasted space either, but it will be better for NPC crew to navigate.
Maybe mass or something else, but MaX is heavy.
the corsair has more drift if that makes sense to you it always lags a bit behind when you want to change direction
@@infinitespace239 Thanks, I've only ever flown the Corsair and Connie, good to know the stats aren't always the full picture.
Great Review! 😃😃😃
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks
Solo multi crew is one hell of a conundrum.
Solo idris for package delivery on top 💪💪💪
I LOve my Starlancer Max, upgradet from a Taurus.
MAX = Taurus, TAC = Andromeda, Corsair = Aquila
conny taurus.... best ship in game and will never change. Chris Roberts has said his favorite ship is constellation phoenix. So i don't see connys getting nerfed anytime soon! great vid as always brother!
@@rscrillz6979 My favorite is also Phoenix. o7
with you there with the Taurus, I was nearly tempted to upgrade it to the max but I just can't do it, sure it doesn't carry as much cargo but it more than makes up for that with the ease and speed you can load and unload, the amazing tractor beam, size 5 weapons and is easy to solo pilot with but can be great with a friend or two as well
taurus is a great ship if you don't care about looks, because the interior sucks. Needs to be completely redone. I ran taurus missions to buy a C2 (before price increases).
I agree it does need some love, it is one of the older ships out there but at this point in the game it is the most versatile ship of all...
@@rscrillz6979 call me crazy but i actually like that it looks a bit bare bones and ancient on the inside, gives me a bit of an older sci-fi feel to it :) that said I would love them to give it a gold pass!
I haventt flown the max yet, but i am excited to hoping to get a new setup soon looks amazing and now i can take a roc and some cargo to me its nice
Go to the 3.24.3 PTU, get into Arena Commander and rent it. In the PTU you get a ton of REC to test with so it's free. You won't be able to do hauling or missions, but you can get a good feel for the ship.
I try to stay away from the ptu cause it always ends up not letting me log back into pu
Right now the SL Max is the obvious choice. Then switch to the Taurus shortly before the rework releases.
@@edtcrandall It is always good time. That's a good tip. Thanks.
Where is you hear that the Constellation will get a nerf? They should leave the guns alone, the Corsair and StarLancer max have other advantages
Rummers. Sorry that I didn't mention it in the video.
@@gp8231 And the price too ! Corsair: 6M aUEC, Andromeda: 10M aUEC.
Such decisions really make me doubt the mental state of the people behind this
@@infinitespace239 I just bought the starlancer today 😎 I want to enjoy it too 😃
The Starlancers are just huge compared to the Corsair and Connie.
I'll grab a SL BLD for sure but my Connie will be the biggest ship I'll daily.
Starlancer Max, Corsair and Connie not for solo, they requirements min 2-3 crew. For solo only small ships like C1.
I got the Connie taurus today and i solo ert EZ 😂 dont even need to get out of the ship tks to the tractor beam
@@rtmadman3418 Because multicrew not in game yet. In future you need 2 crew min for Taurus.
@@cotikus Do you even know what multicrew means? Go and solo crew a Hammerhead or Polaris!🤦♂️
you do realise that 4 size 4s and 2 size 3s would actually be worse off than just 2 size 5s alone? not even taking into consideration upcoming armor changes that will result in smaller caliber guns not being able to penetrate as efficiently.
so what you're saying regarding the corsair is you'd rather they had nerfed it 2x more than what they did?
I think people are way over reacting to the nerf regarding the corsair, I'm still currently soloing ERT's with it just takes a little longer, what id like them to do is leave those size 5s with the co pilot and change the upper turret to be a scanning dish like whats on the terrapin and the cutter scout, that would truly make it an "exploration" ship.
Im a die hard Drake fan and fuck them for nerfing Corsair in such a dumb way. They should have just taken the S4 guns away from the pilot but then again thats Drakes whole fucking thing put as many guns on a ship as they can...
Ya I dunno what to do with my corsair.. I also just don't want to fly it after the nerf. GG cig
The Corsair was never a combat ship
NIce one!
Booth are amazing. Buy what you like more. o7
Zeus have low DPS. Only for cargo.
I prefer cons andromeda for their weapons but ı keeping my ccu from cons andromeda to starlancer max upgrade cuz ı think cons series gonna get nerf.
Starlancer max should cost more and with that it doesnt need a nerf because it is not master of anything amongst all 3 competator.
You play with Motion Blur on. What a heresy!
Connie all the way!
Edit: if nerf hammer drops. Sl max maneuverability will probably get hit. For connie probably shields its a gunship as base so gun size will probably left alone. But there are rumors that rsi has dev bias so maybe it won't get nerf.
Corsair Exit Max Top , Conny Best solo ship
Ya i hate my corsair now.. I dont want to melt it tho cuz what i turn it into will also get ruined in time TOO.. GG cig
@@igorborracini5722 Exactly. You gest it ☺️ Thanks for the tip. o7
Why Andromeda? I'd compare the most cargo capable connie, the Taurus. And until they nerf the guns it's still thecost benefit king of the mid haulers.
@@Tentacl I had Andromeda, but I said it is same as Taurus only smaller and don't have tractor beam and more hp. But Andromeda is the same price.
@@infinitespace239 Yeah, but it has really low cargo for the size, 96, against the Taurus 168. Remember, the Zeus CL has 128 as a small ship, it's hard to reason for Andromeda if you want to use it as a cargo ship.
I wouldn't go for any of these lol I'd wait for CIG to work on core features before further funding it's "development."

The co-pilot has control of the lower s5 guns and its on a gimbal. Saying its fixed facing forward is wrong.
Gimbal is shit. And it is as fixed in front. It should be a turret.
100% if you are gonna split them make it useful and fun for a second crew member. Current change is just dumb.
600i explorer unsung hero?
Not the same class, much more expensive.
@infinitespace239 i see ! Great video. Looking forward to 4.0 videos from you. Maybe a 4.0 Pyro to do checklist?
@@mark3921 Thanks mate, and also for the tip. :D
I am the idiot who upgraded his MSR to a Lance TAC, even though I have a Polaris and not many friends. RIP Me
Lol don't worry about it. Enjoy. You will find friends. Join my discord. There is always someone to play with. o7
Starlancer cant really be compared to the connie or corsair. Its much larger and requires a larger crew to fully come online. This is like compairing the C1 to the aroura or avenger
@@heathmorris6100 It is the same price category therefore you can.
@infinitespace239 completely disagree. Prices in this game mean absolutely nothing. The tumbril nova and drake cutlass black only have a $10 standalone price difference and nobody is making comparisons with those
@@heathmorris6100 I agree, but this 3 ships have same purpose. Multi ship with cargo hauling in mind.
😂 and no mention of the other ship CIG said was in the coni class. CIG you lie and destroy dreams.
