I'm looking at adding a couch and a couple of chairs for seating lounge right behind the cockpit where all that dead space is for the component access. This ship has so much game and role-play potential there is nothing else like it.
@@btoiscool Oh really Cpt. Obvious? Actually I think the Starlancer MAX was originally designed as an exploration vessel. Billiard table, 4 large crew quarters and a cargo grid in the back that has always room for an Ursa? That does not sound like max cargo to me. Feels more like CIG just changed the name to be in line with the "Cargo Empire". Anyway, so while you move a lot of "unused space" around, this is also a great opportunity for RPG moments. The only downside is that currently you have a high chance of a random explosion/bug/elevator error and have to claim your ship, and do all that decoration work again. I really hope at some point in time, we can get our ship back with all items after we loose it to a bug.
@dragonchild_SC ... it still is exploration. Habitation has embedded DPUs. There will be server-space aboard... once "scanning and exploration" go "live".
My live-in ship will always be the Connie Phoenix. That bar is just amazing and no other ships has windows like it. If they ever open the jaccuzi again, it will be perfect. Well, minus the ugly cockpit bar 😂
Yep, its my exploration ship aswell. The only negative is the shields. The thing can take a whooping, but not alot. I use the middle cargo bay as a balcony/sniping spot
In real life, with a set up like that, it would mean somebody in this ship could just open the ramp while the captain is sleeping and flush the captain away! Epic way to change leadership!
I'm not a MISC fan at all and I was pretty lukewarm on the Starlancer MAX when it was announced, but after trying it in the PTU for a bit I think it's a beautifully designed ship in and out. Sure, you still have the MISC style mail slot cockpit window but what is ever perfect? This might just be my new favourite ship to hang out in and go on random adventures.
Very excited for this ship! Wish the living quarters were the same as the TAC and that top was more cargo but it is what it is. Might try a TAC when it’s out.
Why exactly would you want a living quarters like the TAC? Its more cramped and I honestly think the Fury hangar is a gimmick. You could easily fit a merlin fighter in the Max' back cargo bay, or a medical ursa. The only reason Id consider a TAC is mainly because of the extra shield and side turrets
@ I agree. The shield, extra guns, and medicalI are starting to sway me. I don’t mind smaller crew quarters if it means more cargo. I’m happy either way, but having a real Starlancer Max version with less luxury and living would be a great fourth version of the ship.
@@Vioblight Youre right. I found it pretty strange that CIG went and called this the MAX. If this were the Freelancer series Id probably consider large living quarters to be for an explorer variant. Except for the shields though. The MAX shields are... Pathetic?
Looks really good. I also had the Pulse with me in my C1, but it never really stays up. And logging out in bed is also not possible with it on board. 😕
Is the storage chest interchangeable with a 2scu crate? I'm wondering if you could test a specific scenario for me; does the storage chest fit inside the internal compartment of the 100i series ships, and if so, can you access the storage without removing it?
I'm really not a fan of the habitation area. It looks like a module slapped inside of an empty space forming a block inside of a square with claustrophobic corridors and no natural or warm illumination. Thinking about it, that's probably what they did, they had the Fury Hangar and to make it into the MAX they just put in a hab module inside. The rooms inside are good so that's a shame.
... yes... but there are also DPUs embedded within the superstructure of that Habitation "Area". This is undoubtedly integrated server-space for when "scanning" becomes available in-game. The currently unassigned responsibilities of the co-pilot suggest this, as-well.
I have resolved my discomfort with it (especially as a solo player where it feels like being alone in a big empty house) by thinking of it as passenger transport space for people paying to be ferried between systems or something. Just adds another possible role to the ship. Maybe the cabins are a premium thing and with the cheaper ticket you just chill in the common area. My only issue is that there aren’t windows in the rooms and all the other ones on the ship are very restrictive- it would be cool if the structural bit on top of the cockpit could be swapped with glass, and then passengers can pop through to the cockpit/observation room, chat with the crew and get a good view outside.
If the carrack's cargo bay were to retract, then the Carrack would blow away 99% of ships in the game. The only thing holding the Carrack down is its cargo bay.

@jamescossey6372 ... "med-bays" are almost certainly going to become small modular-units. There is just too-much focus on working-around-it at the moment... for CIG not to address it and nearly universalize it.
@RoyHobbs-f4v yes but the current work around as you take up valuable cargo space in most cases. Also the tier 3 has a current respawn distance of 20km and a tier 2 @ 50km. That distance can be very big. Let's say when exploration game play actually comes in, do you think every where you find will be peacefully. I would think not. So you do need a ship to scout with other then your main ship. At the same time how far will npcs be willing to fly to attack something when things work correctly. You also are going to probably search some km's around the exploration area. Meaning if your range is 20km, you might want/need to park 10km to 15km away from your area. With a 50km med bed you can park 40km away and still have a 10km window for exploring/searching an area. Also I think cig also realizes it can't be in every ship as a module. I doubt they will do that. Ruins game play and the reason for medical shipa
@jamescossey6372 ... you are absolutely right. These are great-points. I assume any "module" that becomes more-accessible than it is right-now for a "med-bay"... will have that incredibly-low "regeneration-distance"; maybe even lower.

Lol 😂
"Exploration" lol
The landing gear doesn't work; it's a pile of junk. Don't waste your money because CIG will only nerf it with a bait and switch.
What? It works that was on EPTU. Just test. Don't worry about it
@@infinitespace239 Don't lie, I played on the EPTU everyday it was up and not once did the landing gear work. Even the chat on the EPTU was talking about how the gear does not work.
@@maxjergens read my message again please.
Someone doesn't understand what EPTU means.
you rp guys are going to be frustrated after gettin gank at pyro gates
Nah. Not all RP folk are stupid. Gate in, quantum straight out. Also, eventually the gates will be guarded by turrets that fire on any hostile action taken and other things.
