It's nice to see that Jared also uses his floor tom as a table!
Who don't?
Years ago, I realized that's the only thing I used my 18" for so I started leaving it at home and added a high tom to the rack toms since I found I enjoyed the higher voice and liked having the drums in front of me ergonimically.
Whoever doesn’t use their floor toms I’m accepting donations to start my acoustic kit lol 😂
What else would you use it for?
What's a floor tom? I see a place to put tea and toast
"Yeah, I need that 4th Tom."
"What? I have never seen you play with a second floor Tom"
"Yeah, but I need somewhere to put my coffee."
I have a 4th tom, still don't know why I wanted it.
lol
@@tmbottegal I have seven toms. Wanted it so my kit would be epic. I regularly use six - but the last was just for vanity, so I guess no matter how many toms you have - you always have one you don't use.
They shoulda just called this “A man child with chops gets a bunch of toys”
"A man child gets a bunch of toys he has no idea how to use. -.-
with chops & no clue about what a slap-stick is or how it's played. Drummers v. Percussionists I guess.
Not reading instructions to the dial or the torque tool, not knowing how to play the slapstick, not using the "tie" on the hi-hat, rubbing the kick drum grip feet on the floor using your hand....
If people have worked hard to design a product that could help or entertain drummers, and you decide to "review" them, you should understand the exposure your review will get due to your number of followers and ensure the trials of the product, even for a few seconds, is being done with a little bit of care and is considered properly before giving your opinion.
@@andrewfrench7522 I agree.
Isn't that the root of being a drummer? they are toys that we never "outgrow"! which is awesome...
Jared has gotten so good over the past couple years, at both the drums and with being on camera!!! Awesome job Jared, super impressive, dude!!! Good to see you growing alongside the people you're trying to help grow
Thank you! :)
Yeah his playing has definitely reached whole new levels of amazing. And the whole Drumeo team has upped their game, what with all the company visits this past year. Definitely the leaders in content for the drumming community right now.
@@DrumeoOfficial hbygv🐋🐠 ,...
@@TheWitchOvAgnesi i heard he's using Drumeo to improve his drum skills !
Big time, been following Jared since 2008 when I first picked up drums.
Thanks for checking out our beater, Jared! If you want something with a little more weight, let us know :-)
Love your stuff!
I was shocked to see Jared not fall in absolute love with the Low Boy! I haven’t stopped raving about these things to any drummer I meet. What’s funny, too, Jared felt it was light and I actually prefer and use the lightweight Low Boy and think it’s the most perfect beater available!
I bought Cympads as felt replacement in 2014 and never had to change them since. I had to regularly change felt since it flattened over time before. Was a good investment! I also use the quick release screws, they go together very well!
Getting the slapstick to spice things up behind the kit AND in the bedroom
The slap stick has been a staple of the orchestral percussion section for over a century, so not quite sure what it's doing here.
Jared, to me it sounds like your drumming has noticeably improved to a whole 'notha level in the past year or so. (And that you're having as much fun as ever!)
Thank you. I really do enjoy drumming and have worked hard to improve this past year.
Yes dude, I started watching drumeo in 2013 and always thought Jared was ok.
Now I’m wondering how many gospel chop videos he has been drumming along to! Haha jk he’s improved so much, it’s inspiring and awesome to see.
I met Jared from drumlessons.com like about 11 years ago now and he has improved a lot. In that time he was "a good drummer", now I would say that he is an awesome drummer
@@themusicx.plorer7548 stahp! I'm turning into a tomato! :-)
@@DrumeoOfficial LOL! A tomato
The slap stick is usually used in a concert percussion setting. Think of the whip sound in “sleigh ride” lol.
Now I just want more videos of Jared drumming. He plays so clean!
I post stuff on IG all the time, but I have to practice hard to get on Drumeo's channels. The bar has been set very high with all the great drummers we've had out. I need to keep working on my own drumming and will hopefully post more.
Drumeo right on. Following now.
love the cymbal spinners! i remember showing my first drum student how to impress all your friends by spinning the crash after you choke it, and that became his signature move 😂
I'm gonna have to get a set of spinners for him 💚
You sound like an a awesome teacher!
New Drum Product Idea: The Drummer's Table: an 18-inch floor tom upon which you can rest your coffee. Endorsed by Buddy Rich's Ghost and Jared!
Haha!
I used to own an 18inch FT with my vintage Gretsch set - and it also often served as a table :-D
If it’s inexpensive enough, that table might serve well as a floor tom. I’m in.
Lars Ulrich Invented putting things on a floor tom your not gonna use
I’m just staring at the coffee on the floor tom
Me too! It’s making me cringe, you can literally see it migrating, definitely NOT the place for a coffee. If you see an 18” tom on Reverb with a big coffee stain on it, you know where it came from.
it's pissing me right off, and giving me a slight case of night terrors
yet better than to spill the coffee over the laptop keyboard :-D
Watching Jared just fool around on the kit and rip it up is so satisfying.
Love the way the kit sounds! And your playing... BRUH! BRAVO
i could listen for hours
Johnny Young It's "brah", short for "braddah", like in Hawaiian pidgin! Wherever did *bruh* come from; it's WRONG!!

Love watching Jared mess around with these, he’s entertaining and I really enjoy listening to him drum. Would love to see more!
Thank you!
I've used Tama Quick Release Cymbal Nut for at least 8 years. They are awesome! Never had one fail.
Jared became one of the best drummers worldwide... Amazing drummer, a kind and lovely guy with a crazy cool sounding drumkit!!!! Thank you for sharing all this videos...
I'm so so happy you tried those snare weights. I've been thinking about getting one, so to hear an honest review really helps!
I love these more non-scripted videos with Jared. His fun is contagious.
Worked at drum stores for close to 10 years and there is a point where you're just like all right I get it a drum beat, but this guy has a refreshing sound he's got chops and it uses them melodically. I totally dig it. I usually have a jaded reaction to "acapella percussion".
1:26 this man didn’t even hang up😂
1:26 this man didn’t even hang up😂
21:50 "Its kinda like Cookie Monster" ?? You mean Oscar The Grouch?
I've witnessed this channel growing from when you started pretty much and watching uploads till today! I could only dream one day to be good enough drummer to work for somebody like you, you are one of the nicest and honest people I know, love your approach, simply impressive! :)
the drum torque looks really cool. one personal benefit is not needing to constantly check tensions after making adjustments; the adjustment and the checking are the same step.
Fun video, this should be a series.
I replaced all my wing nuts with Tama quick release. Saves time at end of night. Gibraltar also has a quick release hi hat clutch. Doesn't loosen up like other clutch's.
The Gibraltar clutch is fantastic! Absolutely love them. I miss it when I set up normal hihats for sure.
i just picked up some Tama quick release wing nuts and they look great except they don’t fit my stands, so you know of any other type i could get to fit them? :)
@@RylandHiggins usually I depress buttons and slide on. There are some other options: Pearl has the fold clamp top, Gibraltar also has a quick release system. Trick drums has a system as well..
To anyone wondering about the kbrakes, yes they work! The set he shows in the video would be for carpet use only, you have to buy little rubber pads(made by same company) that the kbrakes slide into if you are playing on any type of hard/slick flooring. I have a heavy foot and a 22in kick with no toms or anything mounted and the kbrakes have kept my bass drum perfectly still every gig I've used them on so far. Kbrakes is probably my favorite solution for bass drum creep, but other great alternatives include the kickstrap and Gibraltar bass drum anchors(like Ringo used on the front of his Ludwigs in the early days), but they will tear up hardwood floors if drum rug is thin.
This is what i am focusing and learning from you at the moment Jared ... i'm on a drill mode since the beginning of my EDGE courses ... TIMING !
I’ve had cympads on my kit for the last 18-20 months and they haven’t worn down at all. They are absolutely amazing. I used to go through normal felts like crazy.
the thing you use at 17:27 ist often used in classical music to simulate „shotguns“ or „whip bang“ instead of using a real gun or whip and hurt somebody in the orchestra ! 👍😬👍
Really great vid. Thanks for the time and effort. I have been using Snare Weight for +2 years. I'm definitely a fan. Extremely well made, Very reliable.
I love a good quick release for cymbals. The one that Vater makes is incredible
Love the drumdial. Perfect example of repurposing something in a smart way. Its a run out gauge adapted to use on drums. I dig it.
This was great! Would love to see more like it. Honestly had never heard of the Cymbomute, but I'm definitely looking into it now. Would be a great way for me to still practice while the kids are asleep - ha!
Very informative ..
Thank you drumeo for this very important video🤗🤗
"pfft, instructions, who needs those?" -Jared
in the US of N(S)A you'd probably read things like "don't stuff your dog into the bassdrum while playing" :-D
This video was a lot of fun. More of these for sure!
I love the way your bass sounds. It just sounds so massive
That cymbal mute is amazing. Years ago I took some old junk cymbals and glued mouse pads to them to make a practice set, those have been great but it's awesome to have option that doesn't require people to destroy instruments in the process. Hard to tell without comparing them directly but that actually seems like it's quieter too.
The junk high-hat is kinda cool: Kinda.
Be a fun project to make yourself, just like i do with every new big fat snare idea lol def gonna make a skinnier cymbal tie so it doesnt get inthe way as much
Honestly I love it. I'd DEFINITELY love to have it besides my Hi-hat for some jank every now and then, as a 2nd pair of off-hats.
to scare your children .. probably :-D
Would have liked to hear more of it
Gadgets aside, I just noticed how much Jared has grown and improved as a drummer over all the years. I have been following drumeo and Jared pretty on and off and I suddenly noticed quite a difference compared to some of the earliest videos I've seen. It's a pleasure and an inspiration to see, really.
Fun seeing all the toys I've also been curious about for so long! Also fun to see how much stuff accumulates on your floor tom over the course of the video! LOL!
Magnetic drumkey is a pretty bad idea if you're gonna be around modern sound equipment.
At 19:50, you replace the beater, and it's so much quicker than the switch-kick-thing. Some of these products don't make much sense to me.
EDIT: if a beater is light, you can add weights, Tama makes them.
Thanks jared, love this video bro, love you man.
I imagine coming to a Glenn Fricker's studio with those cymbal spinners.. Would sound awesome on a record though :D
Jared is HILARIOUS 😂😂 I couldn’t care less about the products, he was too funny
yes that was one of my 1st thoughts as well .. I just love his humour :-D
I use a 16” kick (I’m heavy footed AF) & the K-brake works like a champ! Great product
Great video! And amazing hats! Sounds very special 👌
Love this so creative I just got so many more I ideas thanks
Loved the last product!
Very cool video! I admit there was one more gadget that I kept hoping was coming out if that box!
You are just such an amazing drummer, really awesome dude :D
That was some really nice playing
Tickle trunk! 👍 Now there's a good Canadian reference! Well done.
you are a genious jared! your explanation is great
Jared! All these years I had no idea you could shred like this
Thank you for sharing the stick fly out of your hand. I was so nervous the first time I played with other people that this happened to me. I was horrified but it's nice to see that it even happens to pros.
Hey Jared please tell me what sneakers you're wearing at 10:04 I need those in my life!!
I love the Snareweight M80. I've been using them for years now.
Good lord, that kit is beautiful!
Drum Dial is my Goto for Tuning in the studio. Silent tuning is awesome
Love these videos lol Jared is super funny!
It was a good thing you demonstrated all those gadgets for all of us to know whether to buy them or not, thanks for sharing. nice jobs....by the way what kind of drums are those?
The Tama QR Nuts are awesome. Where I rehearse we have a shared drum kit so I have to set up and take down my cymbals every time I go there and these bad boys cut a good chunk out of that time. I also want the drum weights now, they sounded awesome.

I love getting to see Jared riff outside of a lesson! CEO of chops
Fudge! That guy's drumming is on point!
Thanks for playing Ahead Switch Kick! I wish you have tried one our Brush Kicks or Sonic Kick! Thanks again and your drumming & drums sound great! 🌴 from Palm Springs
The Tama quick-set topper is cool but the threads can strip out.
The only one of those I had ever wondered about was the drum dial. Seems useful overall, especially when you're having a hard time getting even tension.
I hadn't heard about any of those other gadgets. Fun video, though.
16:22 His hand eye coordination is impeccable
Fun stuff... Thank you!
Slaying it.... get em. I was just switching up my 5000 and peal long board today. Weight of beater I can relate.
Jared! Scissors!! Drumhead!!! What possibly could go wrong!!!!
Good demonstration all around.
Slap stick... orchestral instrument for whip sound... the 'drumming' with the whip was an interesting choice. :D
These booths are always the best hangs at NAMM, love these little companies
Great comparison of all those Drum Gimmicks. That's something I really love about drumming, because there's so much stuff you can adjust (and find) your sound :) Thanks for this great comparison. There have been a few Gadgets I haven't heard about yet.
Jared you're doing great on this video!!! THANKS ! =)
AND I think all those gadgets will be given away for everyone who's writing a comment below this video? ;-)
Your foot technique is incredible
I personally like my snare and toms without any damping and for my bass drums I just like the white ring that comes with the drum head and that’s it for me no blanket or pillow to quite it down I like the boom sound they sound real bassy that way .
those spinning things could work great with the steel of a roto tom like bozzios hihat thing. i use them as bells sometimes and they sound super weird when you spin them
its 2040, legends say those cymbals are still spinning.
Very cool! Drummers unite! I just started my own channel for pro musicians, I am keeping following your channel!
Besides this super funny, informational, and satisfying video. I want to know what kind of shoes those are.
"terganomic handle... It's just a drum key" hilarious 😂😂😂
@17:22, best remembered from the "Trio" Section (econd bridge) of Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride."
Jared... I'm always impressed with your playing. What I noticed on this one, is that your single pedal speed for double taps is Bonham-esk. Very fast. I have a pretty good double tap, but your is really impressive. I tend to use a double pedal for what you're doing with one.
I recently got some KBrakes for my Mapex Kit. They work amazingly well. They even have a pad that connects that works on non carpet floors.
Gordon Farr yea, he did a terrible job demonstrating that product.
@@funkdrummer I agree... I need to spend more time with them. I really like the idea and from what I have seen they work amazingly well. I'll try harder next time for you, Brian. Please, give me another chance and I will make you proud of me.
@@DrumeoOfficial you're a stand up guy/girl/human. I'm all for second chances, make me proud =]
I use the spinners with cymbal sizzlers and it makes a big difference with the sound
I never knew the cympads were supposed to increase resonance haha I used them for two reasons. Liked the color and they never get worn out or off kilter.
TANA Quick Release. Awesome!!!
Nice video, guys!
*1)* The necktie might have sounded better on the hat?
*2)* The cymbals spinning does have a different sound; somewhat subdued and not quite as bright, but good! It would look cool on stage!
*3)* Snare Weights - AWESOME! Sound better than the gels.
*4)* The Junk Hat is very cool. It would make a great side hat!
*5)* The Torque Tuner would be a good addition to my studio. Start by tuning the drum to near the pitch you want and then apply the correct torque for the best seat on the shell. Super!
hiya, so i just wanted to know what cymbals you were using! They look great and sound amazing, also awesome video btw you guys are great!

Spinning cymbals it's a cool thing for videoclip overhead shot :D
There is two KBrakes. One that you have is for carpet. The other is made for smooth surfaces.
I really like the spinning thing but only cause it’s cool
KBrakes are one of the best inventions anyone has ever made, they work SOOOOOOO damn well!!
I did a terrible job demo'ing Kbrakes. I'll try harder next time.
Well they're a royal pain in the ass to put on, so I'm not surprised
