I Bought Rip Off Drum Products off Amazon
Which one of these are you using on your drum set? 🤔
All of these, I'm cheap as hell!
Definitiv die 30 Stück Trommel-Dämpfer Gele Silikon Gel Pads Weiche Trommel Dämpfer für Trommeln Becken Ton Control, 30 Stück, Farbset 1 🌚
I ordered the Famogu wing nuts in red for my drummer because he’s going for a color scheme on his kit. He even has red cymbal felts now.
I do have a pack of moongels in my emergency kit, but I haven't used them yet. I also made my own "jingle-ring" out of found objects.
definitely the tama cymbal things🥁
The bootleg moongel is actually really impressive🤯
I wouldn't be surprised if they become more popular than the actual ones!
Thanks for the awesome drive m bid, love your vids 🥁🥁
Best drum content
Hands down.

Tied with the drum thing
The moon gel knock off was easily the best one out of the bunch. I was really surprised at the durability through the heat test. The Ludwig snare is also really solid and sounded as good as it looks🤌
Moongel: the drumstick's soulmate 🥁
I liked the fake moongels and your experiment. It’s very true that moongel fall apart and are unusable after dust and grime. Don’t drop them on your drum rug either! Really appreciate your info! 🏆
Had some good results extending the life of my moongels( brand or copy) by giving them a little wash and rince using room temp water and a little handsoap, even after falling of and getting all dusted and dirty, came back like new.
Gotta love how the cheap gels completely outmatched the moongels 🥺🥺🥺🥺
Loved the sound of the Ludwig snare. It needs to be in my collection. ❤
The cheap gel dampers surprised me. They held up, left no mark, and seem to be made of a better material, for less price. That is a total win for me!🎸
The fake Moongel was my favourite product. I've always had the problem of getting stick shavings etc on them 😂
the moongel experiment was my favorite. I've been using them for years and witnessed them breaking down the same way, even without exposure to harsh elements. Thanks for always making great content rdavidr 🥁🥁🥁
The Keplinger sounded so good! By far my favorite. I have the Meinl on my hi hat when I’m playing a more acoustic gig. Loved the video as always!! 🧔
My favorite is the moongel knock-offs. Ive never been completely on board with moongel and have switched to using snareweights instead but seeing how much better the knock-off ones are I would use those as well. 👌🏻
The knockoff Moongel was really impressive for the price. It is really smart to have one side not be sticky. Also the strong hold on the fake Moongel was cool too.😇
Love the comparisons. ❤
the greg keplinger ching ring was fire🔥🥁
As a younger drummer (15) it’s safe to say I’ve had to find some cheaper drum accessories and these bootleg moongels are probably the best I’ve seen in a while lol🤪
I love the knockoff moongels! 😃 Around the holidays, you can find window decor gels at the dollar tree, so that way you can have little Christmas trees in your toms!
I do the exact same thing! I love getting the Halloween ones!
@@NecroticFleshrot right? It's just about that time too!
I bought a 200 pack of sticky hands for like $5-10
Loved the knock-off moongel =)
From Portugal and thanks for all the knowledge sharing 🦾
My favourite was the boolteg moongels! Love them!🥁
The knock-off moon gels actually surprised me! Many drummers say to go and buy moongels but the knock-offs are just as good! 👍
I actually really liked the tip on the knock-off moon-gels. Looked useful since I feel like I'm always going through the normal moon-gels. Appreciate that!🔵👍🏼
My favorite product was easily the Ludwig Universal. 🥁 However, my favorite review/comparison was the Moongel vs knock-offs. I’ve never been a big fan of Moongels for all the reasons you mentioned. 🤘🏼
Always fire content! Favorite item was Def that snare 🤩
Always enjoy your videos and always finding alternative to moon gel❤🎉
Step aside, drumming world! Bootleg Moongel is here to stick around and make some seriously groovy Magic happen! 🤘
The Moongel product didn't surprise me. I have been using another brand that looks a lot like your "knockoff" brand, and it's far superior to Moongel in every way imaginable.😊
Definitely loved the comparison between the Ludwig and Eastrock snare. Not only does the Ludwig sound better, you can see the quality of construction without needing to actually feel it. That, and the outer layer is beautiful 🥁😁
My favorite was the ludwig snare. Definitely need it to bolster my snare collection!! 🥁 🥁 🥁
I really liked the Keplinger ching ring! Also I think the best bootleg part would be the fake moongels, they definitely performed better in your test! 🥁😁
Another awesome video David, your info is the best. 😃🥁 I would have to say my favorite here was the cymbal quick connects. I have the real deal, great product!
Great video as always 👍 the knock off moongels are in my future, my daughters are constantly taking mine to play with
Personally I’m a fan of the cheaper made moon gels, 1. Because you’re getting more gels compared to the RTOM ones and they’re still a similar size. 2. The option you can get multiple colors choice for these is always fun to see. 🥁🥁
Loved the moongel comparison. Very intelligent staining comparison. Also loved finding out that the knockoffs arent sticky on both sides. Huge plus. Your drum hacks and comparisons are GENIUS!! ( is that enough kissing up??😉😘😉
Thanks😬😬the snare drum is amazing!
The bootleg moongel was my favorite surprisingly 😂
I was once at a gig where I left my drum honey so I went to a dollar tree and bought some of those Christmas window gel thingys. Actually ended up working as a cheap solution and I wasn't surprised when the cheap one worked today. Glad you opened this problem to the public 🙌
I think the bootleg Moongel was my favorite product in this video. Real Moongels react with a LOT of surfaces. Don’t leave one on your studio desk overnight, for example. 😊
I use moongel for snare i was really surprise by the generic gel patch awesome vid thankyou and all your team behind you❤❤🥁🤟🏼🤟🏼🇨🇦
I tried the 30 for $9 drum dampeners, and they worked as described in your video. Thanks!
My favorite was totally the moongel knockoffs. They were 10 times better than the real thing! Great video as always. 😃😃😁😄
The Ludwig had a great sound. The sound of the Eastrock was surprising Givin the cost. With the side by side to the beech. The beach hands down a much fuller sound🫠. My favorite product on this. A very close second is the dampening gels😮
beech
@robbledot7290 used voice texting, didn't notice thank you
My favorite was the Keplinger ching ring. Nice loud sandy sounding! Thanks for all your awesome videos! ⚙
moongel was my favourite as i recently bought those exact ones and they have been amazing for me🥁
I love the Ching ring, the fake one was really bad. I would purchase the expensive one. Now the moon gels, I love the fact that the cheap ones out did the moon gels brand. Great comparison love the video ❤🎉
I have a ton of history with moongel knockoffs (thanks in large part to you and "Mr. Star" 😂). I've hated moongel since I first used it back in highschool so it's nice seeing so many others making a product far superior to the "industry standard." Also, I really dig the fact these ones are tacky on only one side. Huge plus for me
That Gregg Keplinger Ching Ring sounded absolutely fantastic 🔥 Love your channel David, have made a few of your contraptions myself! The O-Jing being one of them!! 🥁
Loved the videos, thanks for keeping the druming fun and different from the hardware standpoint
Honestly the moongel knockoffs really surprised me. I’ve seen that listing a dozen times, but I’ve never tested them. I always thought “well it’s 30 for $9, they can’t be that good.” Thank you for testing these! 💫
Out of the bootleg items, I liked the moongels. The muffling on them were not as great as the actual moongels but not terrible (the same cannot be said about some of the other bootlegs lol). I also found the lack of staining to be a plus. Out of the non-bootleg items, I liked the Meinl ching ring as I think it’s a nice balance between price and performance. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Very impressed with the Knock off moongels. Definitely gonna pick up a set soon 🥁
that snare was my favorite product 🥁... I needs that thang!! 😊
I think the wingnut thing was the coolest, because it was on a really similar level as the tama one 🪜
The real deal Tama quick sets, absolute top tier favourite ヘ( ^o^)ノ\(^_^ )
Makes me anxious think about past gigging without them.
I really like the bootleg moongel. It worked surprisingly well 😯🥁
I liked the keplinger just because I believe it’s an accessory that can be used very well give it more sound and volume to your playing 😊❤ love the vids bro, keep it up
I have two favorites. The first one was the moongel vs bootleg Amazon version. The second is the Ching rings. I liked that Greg Keplinger Ching ring. I love how bright and loud it is🔥
The snare drum throw comparison between DW and knock off was the best because I was able to clearly see the difference between the two😎😎😎
Thanks for explaining the throw off! I just got a snare with a knockoff one on it. I'll be replacing it now!
🤘🥁🤘
I like the dumpening stickers the most, those knok offs were originally the gel stickers for shoes to protect the back of your feet:D I used to buy them for like 1$ for 30 pieces. In Poland we used them as bootlegs for moongels for many years. It's funny that finally someone noticed that and is selling them as drum dumpeners.
Best part was the Moon gel knock offs and the 105° heat test awesome 🥁🔥🥁
I enjoyed the ching ring info. Have been thinking about getting one.
I’ve been using window clings in place of Moongel for years🤛🏽. I actually bought some of the knockoff ones you demoed and put them in tiny lock and lock style containers, to drag them around. 🤘
I liked how the knockoff moongel could resist the heat so well 🔥 also the keplinger just sounded really cool.
Knock=offf moon gel was my fave, followed by the low-end snare that sounded surprisingly good.
My favourite product was the "30 Pieces Drum Dampeners Gels Silicone Gel Pads Soft Drum Dampeners For Drums Cymbals Tone Control, 30 Pieces, Color Set 1" 🥁
I liked the gel for sure. Good alternative to Moongel ...😊
The nockoff moongel is amazing 🤩. i might have to purchase some soon
Knock off gels were surprising, going to buy them now. Great video.
My favourite was definitely the moon gel, it didn’t have as good dampening as the real deal but I’d use it any day! 👍
Favourite was the Ching ring for me sounded full and unique 🤘
Loved the bootleg moongels!! 🙇🏽♂️ now fingers crossed I can use them on this Ludwig snare 🤞🏽
The Keplinger Ching ring is a secret weapon! Was blown away by how unique it sounded 🌅
My fav product: the Knockoff Moongels! Got a few packs of those for church and works surprisingly good! 🙏🏽🔥🔥🔥
My favorite was the moon gel. Seems worth it. 😊
That’s a beautiful drum. My favorite, I think was the generic gel dampers. 😮 after seeing the difference being left out in the sun for a day the choice was really clear. 👍🏻
The knockoff moongel was definitely my favourite. I've already ordered them and I can't wait to try them out. 😍🔥
The Facmogu quick set wing nuts were a fav 😁
Loved the Keplinger 😊
The DW Mag Throwoff was pretty cool 😮. I’ve always wanted to experiment with something like that
I just got my new custom snare with the DW MAG Trhow off and I love it. 😍
I love the moon gel tip. I’ve been buying real moongel forever and knowing that the nock off is honestly better will save me a lot of money 💰 ❤
Bootleg Moongel looked good, I would buy them. Thank you rdavidr for everything you do! stay awesome! 👍
I liked the quick wing nuts, so simple to use! :)
Thanks for the breakdown of real vs bootleg accessories. I have the Meinl ching-ring and have always liked the sound and build, but now I'm interested in getting the Keplinger as it sounds great and looks like its made well.
I love the moon gel substitute I’ve been looking for something better just order them🎉🎉 you are my favourite drum UA-cam channel you help keep my passion alive when I can drum often.😢
My favourite is the bootleg moongel. I actually have that exact set on my Mapex & they rock! 🤘
The circular moongel was awesome 😃👍
I loved the snare 😊
I really like that black wrapped snare!
i honestly loved the snare drum comparison between the ludwig and the 60 dollar one💀💀💀💀
Nicely done… again❤
Loved the knockoff moon gels ❤
The comparison between the three ching rings was pretty cool, but that fake moongel has to be my favorite accessory out of the other ones. I always use moongels but them fake ones are game changing! 🙌
Moon gel knock off for the win! Currently using the knock off and love them. 😊
I loved the moongels! I actually have them myself because they are such a great deal! 🥁
I used the bootleg wingnuts for quiet a while and they worked fine for me 🥁
my fave was the ching rings, they all had their unique quality 🤔
Moongel knock offs were a big surprise! I'm getting my first drumset soon (been using whatever kit my drummer(s) leave at my practice space/studio for years) would be sick to win this snare! 🥁🔥
The throw off comparison was good to know. :) Good luck everyone! 👊 keep on rockin 🤘🏻
My fav one was the moon gel 🔥
