I personally feel this song represents the best of humanity and what it can achieve. It shows compassion, kindness, camaraderie and the general support and willingness to help. Which is nice....
Part of why i love this album so much is because of the idea that as a collective Humanity does't freak out, or try to kill the Crescendolls. Instead the nations of the world teamed up to send them home. And they even get to stay in contact with them forming an 'interstellar' friendship. :)
Well, it helps that they were already the most popular band in the world at that time. Imagine if one of the most popular current bands was revealed to be aliens, hard to imagine all the adoration they already have would just disappear, which would make it pretty hard for a government to try to exploit them as they probably would otherwise.
Krazy Stargazer definitely a best case scenario, I'm just saying that it's far more likely to happen for aliens that were already famous than ones they just randomly crash landed or something like that.
I think that it's quite beautiful how this movie displayed humanity not only at its very worst--the pure evil of abducting people, wiping their minds and making them your slaves until you want to cast them aside--but also humanity at its very best--working together to do everything in its power to help and make things right.

i have to pay my respect once again THIS IS TOO GOOD i can't believe it still 😭😭it's an era that's ending right there. they changed music forever and that's a fact, i remember first finding out about their music back in 2012-2013 when i was 6/7 years old by my sisters and i literally fell in love with it, right now i'm STILL kinda tearing up tbh, these legends music will live on forever. ❤ the only thing i can be happy about is the fact that they broke up in good terms and that they left us with tons of good singles/albums and memories 🥺 i wish i could be face to face with their robot face right now...
I remember watching this on Toonami as a kid (about 8 years old), 20 years ago and I can’t believe this is it. Never got to see them in concert either and that had always been a goal 😭😭. But it’s been a great ride, I always have their music.
best track on the discovery album. that sample at the beginning from kenny loggins - return to pooh corner is so good. he's saying "christopher robin".

the background instrument that starts at 2:53 sounds like a flute or some type of woodwind inst . I had never noticed it before now i love this song even more!
It's the marking of the climax of the song. It helps a lot to convey the feeling of the goodbye. I think. You need good speakers/headsets to even notice that.
How sad to know that your favorite duo has broken up. But, even in spite of this, you will always live in my heart. Thank you for a happy childhood. It was nice to grow up listening to your music - Daft Punk.
And to think, the guy who starts the whole "get them back home" scheme is just some record exec who didn't know they were alien the entire time he was working with them.
this moment in the movie i consider one of the most moving in all of cinema. aliens captured by humanity, and what do we do? we repair their fucking ship and send them home, we share their story and celebrate their true forms. The sheer audacity of it's optimism and hopefulness is so beautiful i'm moved to tears every time.
yes exactly. humanity discovers aliens and then self reflects and does not exploit them, and instead marshals everything to get them back home. a worldwide effort "moonshot" to do the right thing

What's going on
Is this my understanding
It's not your fault
I was to demanding
I have to admit
It's my pride that made me distant
I'll be because I hoped you'd become someone different
Aaaaaaaaaa
There's not much I know about you
Aaaaaaaaaa
Fear will always make you blind
Aaaaaaaaaa
But the answer is in clear view

It's amazing what you'll find

Tried to forget until I hit the bottom
But when I faced you in my blank confusion
I realized you weren't wrong
Was a mere illusion

Aaaaaaaaaa
Just to leave this unresolved
Aaaaaaaaaa
It's not hard to go the distance
Aaaaaaaaaa
When you finally get involved

Face-to-face
underrated song in their collection.
*Guess we can all say that their music was out of this planet.*
i have to pay my respect once again THIS IS TOO GOOD i can't believe it still 😭😭it's an era that's ending right there. they changed music forever and that's a fact, i remember first finding out about their music back in 2012-2013 when i was 6/7 years old by my sisters and i literally fell in love with it, right now i'm STILL kinda tearing up tbh, these legends music will live on forever. ❤ the only thing i can be happy about is the fact that they broke up in good terms and that they left us with tons of good singles/albums and memories 🥺 i wish i could be face to face with their robot face right now...
😔💔
Early 2000s was an amazing era
I remember watching this on Toonami as a kid (about 8 years old), 20 years ago and I can’t believe this is it. Never got to see them in concert either and that had always been a goal 😭😭. But it’s been a great ride, I always have their music.
Me too
The manager is basically speed wagon aka best character to exist
Fuck yes!
does that makes the manager best waifu too?
The only time I’ll agree with you dio
@@silvax4068 Ho ho, I'm glad we can can agree on one thing.
YES YES YES YES.... YEEES!!!
Masterclass in sampling
best track on the discovery album. that sample at the beginning from kenny loggins - return to pooh corner is so good. he's saying "christopher robin".
"I turned away because I thought you were the problem

But when I faced you in my blank confusion
I realized you weren't wrong, was a mere illusion
It really didn't make sense
Just to leave this unresolved
It's not hard to go the distance
When you finally get involved, face to face"
lol LOVING the floppy disk references.
This was made in 2001 soooo they would have floppy disks
+Astro at their near end.
+Astro And that is why the song is awesome!
They are MiniDisc, not Floppy (Also, diskettes weren't really floppy lol, those are even older)
man this video is old what the fuck
the background instrument that starts at 2:53 sounds like a flute or some type of woodwind inst . I had never noticed it before now i love this song even more!
It's the marking of the climax of the song.
It helps a lot to convey the feeling of the goodbye.
I think.
You need good speakers/headsets to even notice that.
@@abhilashp5123 or a good ear ! 🤟
@@newtimesnew yes Mr.Jesus. it will suffice.
A song to remind us that even in 2020 we can still be great as a species. We can choose to be better humans.
Favorite daft punk song
I loved how they accepted them and helped them return to their planet.
One off Daft Punk's best songs for sure
Listening to this after learning about how they put together the samples makes me appreciate this song even more
I always feel so happy when Octive realizes that he is blue. He's all like, " oh my gawd, hey guys! "
Whoa whoa whoa, they have names?!?
I know, interstellar 5555, but i dont know their names
Robot Devil yeah Stella is the girl, octive is the keyboard guy, Baryl is the short drummer, and apreguis is the other guitar guy
la flûte à la fin je m'en lasserai jamais
DAFT PUNK FOREVER
Love how heartwarming this is. All of humanity banding together to send four people back home. It's so uplifting.
this moment in the movie i consider one of the most moving in all of cinema. aliens captured by humanity, and what do we do? we repair their fucking ship and send them home, we share their story and celebrate their true forms. The sheer audacity of it's optimism and hopefulness is so beautiful i'm moved to tears every time.
yes exactly. humanity discovers aliens and then self reflects and does not exploit them, and instead marshals everything to get them back home. a worldwide effort "moonshot" to do the right thing
Daft Punk had the best ani- Official Videos
What I thought back in the day: The only way Daft Punk could make music this awesome is if they are aliens... and this movie proved that for me.
Yes me too! XD Literally just posted a comment like this!
+D9 [•_•] (16-Bit Records) Or robots
+D9 [•_•] (16-Bit Records) You're right, somehow we all are anyway.
+D9 [•_•] (16-Bit Records) The only way you could really think that is if you are underage.
Daft punk is seen in the crowed in one of the earlier episodes, so they aren't these aliens.
This is my favorite Daft Punk song.
All of Discovery's songs are my favorites.
Discovery is overall their best album.
This is my favourite song of all time actually.... which would explain why I’ve been listening to it for the last 14 hours
One of the best daft punk songs
Indeed they used six songs for the samples of this song and that was insane 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This has always been one of my favorite daft punk tracks, this song in particular has always stuck with me it’s so good lol
brought some tears showing positivity instead of the usual negativity.
The best sampled song of all time
It's amazing how all daft punk songs have unique and striking instrumentals.
this is one the cutest music videos i’ve seen
Face to face
What's going on?
Could this be my understanding
It's not your fault I was being too demanding
I must admit it's my pride that made me distant
All because I hoped that you'd be someone different
There's not much I know about you
Fear will always make you blind

when you finally get involved face to face
Cara a cara
A copiar :^)
GRACIAS UWU
This song, coupled with the video, always makes me feel emotional in a good way.
The flute that plays near the end of the song is marvelous and sounds so good. Who agrees with me?
Falling in love by SURFACE
Yee
Short Circuit was the definition of shutting down. Now we regain consciousness and come face to face with reality…
Still by far my favorite album of daft punk. The others are nice but this one just raised above the others. The flow and beats were just so much better in this.
Todd Edwards' genius sampling
Daft Punk created a Masterpiece.
This is such a bright and happy song, but it makes me cry the most out of any other song on this album 🥲
1:09 - 1:14
Everyone's reaction to the coronavirus
That's hilarious
Favorite album during middle school years
I lended this CD in HS, never saw it back, but oh well
Still my fav album
The reason there aren't any comments is this!
they switched the video from the Warner Music France channel to the daft punk channel and that must have wiped the comments
Yes your correct
Oh shit when did they do that?
@@cisco555 not that long ago
I like how the world comes together and brings the best scientists together to send them home and its awesome to watch.
i love this song sm.
omg I love this song!
My favorite song of all time. It's just perfect. Gives me so many emotions, thanks to my memories, feelings, experiences, and Interstella 5555. Beautifully chopped up and sampled. Amazing duo
Insane sampling
