This song holds a special place in my heart. I started dating my now wife back in 2016. During that time I used to play this song a lot when we would go out on adventures. Several years went by and my taste in music transitioned and I stopped playing Daft Punk. A couple weeks ago, I randomly had the inclination to play this song again as we were driving around along with our two kids.
When she heard this song again after several years of not hearing it, she got very emotional and began to shed tears of happiness. She told me how much she loved me and I began to tear up with her.
I've never had such an emotional connection to a song like Something About Us. It's such a special little song for my wife and I. I know it'll be a part of our love until the day we die.

I get it man. Had this on repeat about a decade ago where I spend a summer with an amazing girl in many ways. In another life, I was sure she would be my soulmate. But just as this song, it wasn't the right time, I wasn't the right one.
this song combined with this video makes me feel really weird, like a sad weird
it's like finding your soul mate, but you're not able to be together. and before you part forever, you both share a brief surreal experience in another reality, where everything matched up perfectly.

Why wrong bodies? Stella is in fact of the same race as the Shep (the blue guy), the old evil manager tampered with the heads of everyone making them believe they are humans and that they must obey him, but in truth they are an interstellar alien band Shep was a big fan of and because of that he tried to wrest them from the manager's control and help them go back home.
By all intents and purposes thats even MORE sad because that means they were literally made for eachother but fate had it otherwise and now everything they could've been was reduced to fleeting moments of sweet romance, naive "what ifs" before he quite literally dies in front of her

This song always hits me hard, especially with the video clip. I can actually feel the heart break the characters feel when the guy passes away, I can feel the love he has for the girl he's in love with. You know it's truly a master piece when artists accomplish that.
It hurts even more after hearing and seeing the music video to Digital Love. My man literally went out of his way to save the love of his life. He day dreamed of the day he would one day be with her. He put his life on the line to save her and the other band members.
He finally got to see her and profess his love as he was dying. It's such a fucking powerful love story.
This song sounds so incredibly intimate, it feels like listening to a secret that doesn't belong to you. Truly amazing.

Growing up as a 90s baby I was blessed with a lot of great music.
And without a doubt the whole Discovery album still is to this date one of the best musical albums my 2 ears have ever heard.
And Something About Us always gives me goosebumps 22 years later.
totally read this with goosebumps. Only really started listening to daft punk about last year. This song lets everything wash off your back and you get lost in time listening to this album. It is so light, and gives me an indescribable feeling. It feels like it fills a hole within me. It feels like focusing on the way i feel while listening to this song are the best moments I could have. But it shouldn't be that way. It always hurts to know that I want to have this feeling when I am around family. But no, I feel this way while listening to music instead.
My husband and I danced to this at our wedding with our custom made Daft Punk helmets on. Daft Punk lives forever in our hearts. 🥺❤️

Played this in the car with my brothers the day of my grandfather's funeral. A couple years before was my grandmother's funeral, and those two were lovebirds until the very end. Even when my grandmother passed, my grandfather said that she was his doll and there would be no other woman that he would need or miss more in his life. Safe to say that when this song just played randomly first just after the funeral, my older brother and I cried in the car at the thought of how much we miss our grandparents but also the fact that they were finally together again. My younger brother hadn't heard the song before, but he too also cried. This song pretty much could sum up their entire life together. It was a sweet sad feeling. This song just hurts every time I hear it. I never thought I felt this way in our relationship but after breaking up multiple times, it was better to just stay apart. @@Tre-vor When I was a child, sad and scary things weren't that deep, because I hadn't lived long enough to experience the love, loss and fear needed to truly sympathise or empathise with the feelings conveyed by artists through this type of media. I didn't understand what kind of feelings you would need to have for someone to sacrifice yourself for them like he did, *but I do now.*

It was my 34th birthday today. My almost 3yr old daughter and i played this song like 5 times while celebrating my birthday at the stroke of midnight. Now ending our night we played this video another 3 times. She says it's her favorite video.. i fell in love with this song when i first heard it in 2003 when i was 13. It's still one of my favorites. This song/video always brings my heart at awe ❤

This song reminds me a lot of my grandfather, he was someone very special to me, unfortunately he had a divorce and I could not see him for a long time, the last thing I talked to him, he called me and told me Merry Christmas and New Year and the saddest thing he told me was that he was glad that at least I have not forgotten him, I have not seen him anymore.
Something about this song gives me a sense of peace that I don’t deserve but need🙏
I think this really just resonates with alot of people because it's very vague, it gives you a feeling of...something...and it gives the freedom, with very limited lyrics, to attach whatever feeling the listener wants to it. It can be about nostalgia, love, freedom, family, friends, an end, a beginning, literally anything. Beautiful.
