- In this video we teach you how to factory reset your Sensi ST 55 Smart Thermostat, and how to set up your Sensi Smart Thermostat ST 55.

To Factory Reset the Sensi Smart Thermostat ST55 or Sensi ST 55 Smart Thermostat you need to remove the batteries from the smart thermostat for 2 minutes. Then reinsert the batteries. To Remove the batteries and reset the Sensi ST55 you need to pull the Sensi Smart Thermostat off of its mount by pulling forwards on the device and removing it from the mount. This will then give you access to the Sensi Smart Thermostat and Sensi Thermostat batteries.
If you are having issues getting your Sensi Smart Thermostat reset try using new batteries when reinstalling them in the device.
How To Reset Sensi Smart Thermostat ST55
1. Remove the thermostat from wall.
2. Remove the batteries for 2 minutes then reinstall the batteries.
3. Replace the Sensi ST 55 Smart Thermostat which has now been factory reset.
How To Set Up Sensi Smart Thermostat ST55
1. Once the device has been factory reset it can then be set back up. If you are having issues getting the Sensi Smart Thermostat set up. Try using fresh batteries when you replace them during the reset process.
2. With the device powered up, click on the menu button.
3. Then Click the "Mode Button" which will enable the the wifi and connecting the Sensi Wifi Smart Thermostat.
4. Download and login to the Sensi app and follow the instructions to connect your Sensi ST55 wifi smart thermostat.

Thank you so much for this. When this was installed in the house we were never told it was Wifi capable and at the time we didn't really need the wifi setting. But taking care of someone with progressing dementia she became very obsessive about the thermostat. Changing the temperature without us seeing and I was thinking i needed to look into a lock box or a new display. This is such a life saver to be able to control it from my phone and lock the display that way. Appreciate this vid!

hard reset the thermostat by pressing and holding arrow up, down and fan button until the screen goes completely blank with one black line at the top

Thanks a bunch, just moved into new house and could not figure out why I did not see the wifi icon top left. Got it connected to wifi after seeing this utube.
The factory reset did not work, I changed my thermostat to Celsius, removed the batteries for 10 mins then reinstalled and it's still in Celsius, reconnected to wiring and I can still control with my phone. How do you do a factory reset?
To reset it to factory setting, instead of removing its batteries and wait for a couple of minutes, we could also press and hold the Up and Down arrows and the Fan switch (all three) simultaneously for a few second.

Have you had any issues using the fan circulation percentage feature? Just installed this and it doesn't seem to be working. Also can't believe this thermostat doesn't have programmable fan (just venting).
Good question. We set one up today and are trying to use the feature. Will watch the Sense monitor to see if it works.

What if it's locked?? I tried this, didn't work, lockpad kept flashing at me. I tried holding all the right buttons down as well.
what about when the Sensi network doesn't show up in the list?? it's not there to connect to, so I can't get past that step
Once I connect to the thermostat on the wifi in my phone and I go back to the app, I can't click next. It doesn't do anything. I also don't get the wifi symbol before entering radio mode like yours did.

I'd reach out to sensi support which is copeland. I'd imagine something is off. They can probably get you in the right direction.
What is the auxiliary heat setting on the thermostat?
Auxiliary heat is a 2nd heat source if needed. On my heat pump, when it is too cold for the pump to get heat from the outside, the aux heat turns on and there is a large heating element not unlike a giant toaster that is used to heat the air. Sometimes it is labeled "emergency heat" on some other thermostats.

how do i reset if buttons were locked in the app? Fan and up down will not work. Batteries up down won't work. Thermostat is not connected in app to unlock

I tried your suggestion and nothing. I got lucky to find one article, up arrow with the menu button unlocked it. Super thankful, I changed a setting in my router and got booted. With it being locked it is practically impossible to reconnect it.

I’m having the same problem. We just bought this house a few months ago during the summer, and it came with this Sensi thermostat. Now that it’s getting colder, we can’t get the black dot to go to Heat. We had a tech come out yesterday afternoon, and he was able to get the heat to work. We let it run for a few hours. At bedtime we shut it off because the house was nice and warm. But now, just a few hours later, it’s morning and we can’t get the heat to turn back on. How do we get this thing to work?
@tonyambriz728 I thought this thing was such a piece of junk I had an HVAC guy come and he confirmed that the problem was with the thermostat, that it had gone bad, and I just had it replaced with another brand. Problem solved!
@@tonyambriz728 Also, since your house is new to you, if you have a home warranty plan you can probably get your thermostat replaced on that plan.

Worst for me also. Loses signal. Lots of hoops to jump through to reconnect. None of my other home wi-fi devices have these issues. They just work. Support is lacking and this thing doesn’t even have an hour meter/filter change indicator like me 35 yr old craftsman and every other programmable tstat I’ve ever owned.

Remove battery for 8 ?? minutes. You pulled out the battery and clanked them on the floor at the time you were speaking.
How do I get rid of the lock
I was successful pushing the up arrow and menu button, mine unlocked immediately so I could re-pair it.

We still weren't able to either press the connect button or if we were able to get "connected", we'd always get "Can't create secure connection"
We fixed it and was able to complete the whole setup by turning off our VPN on our android phone (we had express VPN) and changing our location on the phone to "allowed all the time".
The worst customer service experience.

Totally agree. Bought one, followed instructions to the letter, turned on AC...and hot air came out and raised house temperature to 84 in the summer. 🥵

For anyone struggling with this mine refused to unlock no matter what I did, changed a setting in my router, and got locked out. I have to keep it locked as people like to play with the temperature. The issue with doing that is you can't connect your thermostat again without unlocking it. The only thing that worked successfully for me was pushing the up arrow and menu button together. It unlocked in about 5 seconds, I was stressing thinking I was going to Home Depot to get another Sensi thermostat. Battery removal didn't work, the other tip below didn't work. I got extremely lucky and found an article and it worked.
That doesn't work for me, lock blinks and stays.
This product is pretty horrible. Too many beaches and not set up friendly depending on the device you have. It is just not worth the money. Might as well get a $10 dolar one or go nest
right right what a joke, ive had a space heater on for 2 weeks and finally ,maybe this time the furnace will stay on please god let it stay on....
