Hi, thanks for reaching out to us. On the auto setting, the fan turns on automatically only when your system is heating or cooling the air in your home. Does this model, or any other Honeywell models, preferably the lower priced ones, have a swing/differential setting? My new Honeywell doesn't have that and as a result the cycles are short and frequent

The RTH7600D Thermostat requires two AA alkaline batteries for power. It has built-in EEPROM that stores the set point, schedule, and installer setup setting information indefinitely. Hope this helps! -Jerry

I just bought this thermostat and have programmed a schedule. I have my system on Auto, but how does this affect my schedule? Right now I have my wake to be Heat 67 cool 75. Does this mean it will heat when then temp gets to 67 and heat when it gets to 75?
Why after over a year of using this product am I suddenly not able to log on? The power and WiFi are all good. It is impossible to get any specific information for such an issue.
Hi Alice, the fan should come on automatically with your system when you make a call for heating or cooling. Do you know what type of HVAC system you have? Gas/electric forced air, heat pump, etc. -Jay
Yes, I have it on permanent hold but around 2:00 in the morning the temperature drops and is not maintained by the hold. Please reply as to why this would happen and how I can fix. Thanks

What’s the difference between Fan On and Fan Auto?
I have programmed my system, but don’t have the option to run the system on auto where it would switch from cool to heating if needed. Why does this not show up even though it is a promoted option. The option to show when to change the furnace filter (another promoted option) also never popped up. How do I get these features to work.

Does the system setting have an auto option or is that just for the fan.

restarting, to prevent equipment damage. During the wait time, the message “Wait” is displayed on the screen. - Jerry

I have this thermostat and something is messed up, it’s set on some schedule some times and can’t figure out how to delete the whole schedule option, I set it at a temp I like come home 6 hours later hot in house because ac didn’t kick on have set at 70 then temp setting says 82 so ac did run all day, I like to manually set my stuff, is it broken? How do I delete the whole schedule crap !!! Do even know how it got like that!! Just one day it started making its own times up.
Hi jaspercats, thank you for reaching out to us. It is not possible to delete the schedule completely. You will only be able to edit the schedule or override it. You can temporarily or permanently override the schedule: change the set point, the screen will show 'Temporary' which means that it is a temporary override and it will resume the schedule on the next period. If you change the set temperature and immediately press Hold (center key) you will override the schedule permanently. To cancel the hold and go back to schedule, just press the 'Use Schedule' key.
When following a schedule our thermostats have the Smart Response feature that starts the system early, so the setpoint is reached already by the scheduled time. If the thermostat seems not to be following the schedule, you can turn this feature of by following these instructions: Press 'System & Fan', then press and hold 'Fan' until you see a 4 digit number at the center of the screen and a big number on the right. Press the 'Next' key until you see 0530 in the center of the screen. Then press the Down button to change the number on the right to 0 (you should see 0530 and 0), press Done to save and exit. -Maria
How to change battery on it
We have a thermostat exactly like this. However, I have to go in and change the schedule to the desired temperature for ALL settings. When we set it to a preferred temperature and use Permanent Hold, it reverts back to the schedule and ignores the permanent hold setting. I've worked with it repeatedly and it won't set to permanent hold for any time or day. It uses the schedule constantly. HOW do we get it to set at Permanent Hold always so I don't have to reprogram it constantly?

My thermostat is the RTH7600D and the displayed temperature is about 7 degrees high. I put a mercury thermometer next to it that is reading 71-72 degrees but the thermostat is showing 79 degrees. Can it be calibrated?

Select System.
Press and Hold Fan.
Should see 0120 with setting 20 blinking.
Press next to 0130, this is the year.
Press next to 0140, this is the month.
Press next to 0150, this is the day.

Can this model be locked to Cool or Heat so, for example, if you raise the temp in the summer, the furnace will NOT come on?

If you raise the temperature in the summer, with the Mode set for Heat, the furnace will run based on the setpoint you'll like to have. However, if you increase the setpoint, with the Mode set for cool, the furnace will not run. 1) Press "System & Fan" then press and hold the center key until the screen changes (approximately 5 seconds).
2) You will see two numbers. 0120 is the Year setting ((first two digits) press the "Up" or "Down" arrow to change as needed.
3) Press next to go to number 0130(Year Setting, second two digits). Change it as needed.
4) "Next" you will see 0140 (Month Setting)
5) "Next" number 0150 (Date Setting)
6) Press "Done" to save & exit. Please, do not change any other number.

@@honeywellhome That worked fine, but it was confusing to see more options after I selected the day date. My thermostat had advanced a day at some point, and I didn't notice that until I changed the time for DST this morning. Thank you for specifying not to change any other numbers.
My air upstairs will not stay consistent at all of a sudden even with scheduling & permanent hold but downstairs stays consistent. What am I doing wrong?

Mine keeps going back to a program that I don't want. I can't seem to cancel the program. I don't want it programmed at all, and I don't think I ever started one before, and I can't get rid of it.

I have a RTH7600D1063 thermostat. Even though I have selected permanent hold, it seems to be reverting back to a schedule at 2 in the morn! Is there a way to clear all settings so it stays on perm hold?

I do not want a schedule. How do I reset this thermostat?
It is not possible to turn the schedule off on this thermostat, you can override it with a permanent hold. Press the up/down arrow until you see the desired temperature and then press 'Hold'. The set temperature will not change unless you change it manually, if you ever want to go back to the schedule you just have to press 'Use Schedule'. - Maria

Thanks for your reply, Bridgette. We recommend to verify the voltage that the thermostat is receiving with a voltmeter. If you don't have one as a suggestion please contact a contractor. They on site will be able to verify the voltage and the system itself in case the AC is not working. - Laura

To change the day please press 'System & Fan', then press and hold the center key 'Fan' for about 5 seconds until you see two sets of numbers on the screen. You will see 0120 at the center of the screen and another number on the right, make sure that the number on the right is 20, if it is not 20 please use the up or down button until you see 20 (you should see 0120 and 20), then press 'Next'. You will see number 0130, make sure that number on the right is 22 and press 'Next'. The thermostat will show number 0140, make sure that the number on the right is 12 (for the month) and press 'Next'. Finally make sure that number 0150 is set to 21 (current day of the month) and press 'Done'. -Maria

Why would there be a cool setting in the winter (or heat setting in the summer)? Very confused by this. I have had to adjust the thermostat daily and put it on permanent hold because I don't want to have the AC running in the winter.

It is on heat but when trying to do settings it first has heating then cooling settings for temperature. I just don't know. Every day I have to adjust it through the day because I can't make sense of the thermostat settings.
When editing the schedule you will need to set temperatures for both heat and cool modes, but the thermostat will only follow the heat temperatures as long as you have it set to heat mode. -Maria

Thanks for the question. You can set a hold by pressing the up or down arrows to adjust temperature, then press HOLD. This will turn off the program schedule. Whatever temperature you set will be maintained 24 hours a day, until you manually change it, or press USE SCHEDULE to cancel “Hold” and resume the program schedule. -Joey

Hi Grace, please follow these steps to bypass the programmed schedule and set a permanent hold: 1. Press the up or down buttons to adjust the temperature. 2. Press HOLD.

I just bought a house with this thermostat and it seems to be pre-programmed and the Use schedule button does nothing when I touch it. The house was a rental so I'm wondering if the landlord had it locked to a certain schedule. Is there a way to reset so I can set my own schedule?

The 'Use Schedule' option is displayed when the thermostat is using a temporary or permanent hold that overrides the schedule. When the thermostat is following schedule you can change the set point and it will start a temporary hold and you can press Hold to change it to permanent hold, you will see "Temporary" or "Hold" on the screen when not following the schedule. Once you press Use Schedule you will see the 'Schedule' option to adjust it. -Maria

Please see the following direction.
1. Press SCHEDULE, then EDIT to see weekdays.
2. Press SELECT DAY. You can select multiple days to program with the same settings.
3. Press NEXT STEP twice, then press the up or down arrow to set Wake time for selected days.
4. Press NEXT STEP, then the up or down arrows to set Heat temperature for this specific time period.
5. Press NEXT STEP, then the up or down arrows to set Cool temperature for this specific time period.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 to program other time periods (LEAVE, RETURN, SLEEP), then press DONE.
7. Repeat steps 1-6 to program Saturday/Sunday. (Press the up or down arrows until the desired day is flashing, then press SELECT DAY)
8. Press DONE to save and exit.

Please see the following direction on setting the date.
1. Press system&fan button.
2. Hold the "Fan" button for 5 seconds.
3. 0120 will appear on the left side of the screen, with the arrows put the number on the right side to 20 and press next.
4. 0130 will appear on the left side of the screen, on the right side of the screen set the number for the last 2 digits of the year (ex. 2017= 17) then press next.
5. 0140 will appear on the left side of the screen, put the number on the right side according the month press next.
6. 0150 will appear on the left side of the screen, put the number on the right side according to the day.
Tap done.

So, am I understanding this correctly, DO NOT under any circumstances choose the Schedul iption -eternal loop hell. Once you use it, IT WILL NEVER be able to be overridden. My Permanent Hold ifix suggestion does absolutely nothing. The stupid schedule just overrides it. Not only that, but I tried to set the Coll like immediately or time it when I am home. Long story short, my cooling option doesn't work to the set schedule wither. Except for today, I am home, all of a sudden -cold November here-it kicks itself to 65. I hate this thermostat so much. Model RTH700D.
Hi Sandy, we are sorry to hear about this. This is not what you should expect and we will be happy to help making sure that everything is working as intended. To set a temporary hold you just have to use the Up or Down arrow to adjust the temperature, the thermostat will hold this temperature until the next period of your schedule starts. To set a permanent hold, please use the Up or Down key to adjust the temperature and then press 'Hold'. This permanent hold will keep your set temperature until you press the 'Use schedule' key to resume your schedule. If you are having difficulties with the cool, please let us know what are your inside and set temperatures and if your thermostat is showing 'Cool On' while your AC is running. -Maria

Hi Cristian thanks for that information. To adjust the thermostat to F* or C* follow the following procedure. Press System/Fan button. Press FAN for 5 seconds until 120 appears on display. Press NEXT until 320 appears on display. Select 1= Celsius 0= Fahrenheit. -John

The poor, unreadable contrast for info on the Honewell screen shown above is just as HARD TO READ as the actual Honeywell screen. Very. Unreadable. Screen contrast.
In the realty, a program 7 days thermostat is not as good as the old models because the weather will not be the same every day. Plus, if you are over 60s and your adults children live with you, there are many conflict to set the thermostat. My adult kids wanted to set colder than I wanted. So, I just bought this one and I will return it.
This video does not tell me how to set the day, date and year!!!

As a suggestion, to change the day, date and year, please go to the system set up by pressing the "System & Fan" option and then press and hold the center key until the screen changes (approximately 5 seconds). You will see two sets of numbers. 0120 is the function for Year Setting (first two digits), 0130 Year Setting (second two digits), 0140 Month Setting and 0150 Date Setting. This is a horrible thermostat! Does NOT actually HOLD the temperature and requires complicated schedules within schedules instead of just letting you set a dag on temperature!
Horribly complex. Buy anything other than honneywell.
I give up. Forget about programming, since it is almost impossible. I just want to turn it on and off by adjusting the temperature. I hope whoever designed this thing is flipping burgers somewhere.
What a horrible thermostat. Who has life to waste fooling around with it!! I just want to know how to permanently set it to manual!!!😊

Awful user interface. I can usually work a thermostat after playing around for a few minutes. This is awful. There is nothing iterative about operation of this device. I just bought this house and I may rip out these thermostats and but new ones.

Hi there, you would want to set your desired weekday schedule and also have to set a temp for your weekend as you cannot choose a partial schedule here. So it would be a 5-2 schedule.
