I love this wrap!! I've been trying unsuccessfully to create the exact same design for a LONG time, but now with your help I know what I was doing wrong! And no one online had tried to do what you did, which is beautifully simple.
I welcome this wrap. So much you can do with it. I'm a beginner. This tutorial was much appreciated. I had wire left, so I put few wraps in back. You guys rock.
It may have been an 'experiment', Matt, but you nailed it!! I had even spent a morning with a jewelry maker once, both of us trying to create that same look, using a jig, even trying wire crochet which didn't look even or graceful. I finally have a beautiful edging for my round agate Irish Prayer Stones. Thank you and happy creating!!
Thanks for this I actually made it and wow it looks pretty good. Remember I am a newbie. I used a glass cabochon and finally I found a pattern that looks good and will wrap it because they have no hole. Thanks Matt ♥
Matt that was a great pendant and no swirling to does. No making fun, just saying they dont always need them let the beauty of the gems show off.🥰❣Kim great job.
So many good things. The stone is a beauty and I'm glad you let it shine without wire on top of it. This design reminds me of netting or viking weave, but your technique is way easier. I can't wait to give it a go.
Looks great! Was hoping though that you were going to do something to cover up the drilled hole. Could add another wire and done something. Just an idea.
Very cool. Love that stone. This technique is very similar to a cabochon wrap I have seen before. But I think they threaded and secured the back before threading the front so they could get a tighter wrap on the front dome part.
Very pretty and gives me an idea of what to do with a special aquamarine slab I bought. BUT, if something is easy, I will find a way to make it hard, LOL. Just how I roll. So I think I will make smaller loops and possibly an extra row if necessary. In the loops I will thread on a bead so when I do the tightening wire I can go around the wire on one side of the bead, then diagonally across the bead and around the wire on the other side of the bead. What do you think? I kind of like a lot of beads in things.
Hmmm. That would probably be beyond my tech skills, LOL. Being older it seems I no sooner learn how to do something and it's old technology. I JUST finally figured out how to put a profile picture on here, so I used one of my recent pieces for my photo. If anyone can explain to me how to do a demo, or even share a photo, I will do the piece with the aquamarine slab and show you what I mean.
I just had a thought. Perhaps you could have also anchored the wire by coiling it through the hole first, then made your bail. I'm new to wire wrapping (I've done one piece, using one of your tutorials 😁), so this maybe why I thought of it. By anchoring your wire that way, it wouldn't go anywhere while you were creating your 'chain' loops and you could make it more decorative, if you wanted. I think it turned out great! I just think maybe for us newbies, anchoring the wire in the hole of the agate, would make it more secure as we are learning.
Wow very impressed with that piece and with that wrap you did a good job Matt. But what I would have done at the very bottom the center of the rap I would have wrapped the wire around twice you know what I mean? Anyway I love it and I'm very proud of you
Very nice! I think I would put a head pin thru the hole from the back, swirl it in front and hang a charm, but I know the idea was that it “didn’t” have a hole.
Matt essentially you are on your way to making a dream catcher. If you had continued on til the entire circle was enclosed, it would have basically been a dream catcher. Maybe thats why it triggered a memory cord?? It turned out beautifully btw🍃🤗🍃
Hi Matt! I love your wire wraps! That tool I mentioned in another video, they're called: round nose plyers, and it really makes it a lot easier to make loops, than the way you're currently doing it. It's not sorcery, I promise!
This is similiar to wrapping a dream catcher except you would loop into a knot with each wrap instead of just threading through each half circle . Kewl wire wrap. Would be even more ornate if you added small crystals while wrapping each loop.
I really love this cage design. Would also love to see it with longer wire so you could make some swirls. Would this stone be strong enough to use in a bracelet?
Is the wire half round or round? Is it soft, half hard or hard? Found a seller on Esty that charges about $16 dollars for 9.5 feet of sterling silver wire.
I love this wrap!! I've been trying unsuccessfully to create the exact same design for a LONG time, but now with your help I know what I was doing wrong! And no one online had tried to do what you did, which is beautifully simple.
Glad to hear. It was literally an experiment
That's real pretty, will try that on one of my stones or maybe more, thanks
Beautiful without any swirls. The beauty of the stone really stands out. Love the reversible design.
Beautiful agate! Looks like the start of something Im going to try! Ill post on fb page when finished! 😊😊
I welcome this wrap. So much you can do with it. I'm a beginner. This tutorial was much appreciated. I had wire left, so I put few wraps in back. You guys rock.
Omg why didn't I think of this man you did it. Yahoo.....u can also put a small stone where the hole is at. Great job man.

Wow!
Kinda of a Celtic style wrap,, But my Brother this is not crazy art this is Masterful art , I like it
Darrell!
Love this one! Can use on any stone, rock etc and it's fast and simple and easy to learn. Thanks Matt!

Loving this, you didn't cover up this beautiful stone. Awesome. ..
Fun effect. It's almost like a viking knit. If you'd half hitch over your weaving wire it might keep them tight as you go around. I dig it though!
Love your older tutorials!
I always learn something from you each time I watch you. Thank you.
So many good things. The stone is a beauty and I'm glad you let it shine without wire on top of it. This design reminds me of netting or viking weave, but your technique is way easier. I can't wait to give it a go.
Very nice, fairly easy wrap. Thank you. You could also end the wires in a spiral to cover the hole. :)
Oh my! Thank you. I really love your videos. 💚
I like it just the way it is. Nice turnout :) TY for sharing!!
Love the technique!! Will do when I get home. You make it so easy! Will upload a pic when finished
Yeah,! I found it, my fav wrap technique! Thanks Matt!
Simply Gorgeous !! I Love the Sketch so I am sure it will look just the way you want. :) thank you for the Video.
Look at Viking weave. Very close but it locks in place without wrapping twice. Love the “bracelet” loops to get started.
Looks like an engineer solution to a problem. I love it! Good thinking!
I love this one, it's beautiful. Love watching you twist and turn the wire and it comes out so pretty!!!
I love the way this piece turned out, awesome slice :)
Thank you, but you can call me Matt
@@MattsCrazyArt Thanks Matt:)
@@alannaclifford1193 you can call me awesome slice too if you want

Awesome job, love love love it.
Clever take on the Viking knit technique!

Great tutorial, I am going to try that one tonight!!!!
I really like this one I'm going to try this when I'm retired or sooner..
This is nice as it shows more stone and not a lot of wire. Thanks Matt, I’ll be trying this.
sweet! love that stone!

That sounds terrifying! Hurry up and do it!
Kathleen Ralston, sounds good. Can you do a demo so I can see what you are explaining? Thanks

Wow very impressed with that piece and with that wrap you did a good job Matt. But what I would have done at the very bottom the center of the rap I would have wrapped the wire around twice you know what I mean? Anyway I love it and I'm very proud of you
Nope, do not know what you mean
Very nice! I think I would put a head pin thru the hole from the back, swirl it in front and hang a charm, but I know the idea was that it “didn’t” have a hole.
Great idea! and Great piece! again love your creative process.

Awesome, this just answered my recent question, thank you very much.
Looks great finished I love this!
I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR BUT THANKS FOR THE EDUCATION! I WILL BE DOING THIS. I USE A SMALL PIC TO GET THE WIRE TIGHT AND GET THE WIRE UNDER EACH LOOP
Beautiful! 💚
I love how that came out
Hi Matt! I love your wire wraps! That tool I mentioned in another video, they're called: round nose plyers, and it really makes it a lot easier to make loops, than the way you're currently doing it. It's not sorcery, I promise!
Heresy!
I love you for this, I have a stone that’s been giving me a headache and this will help so much ❤️❤️
Beautiful 👍👏
Fantastically Matt. Thanks
you could use a temporary piece of string or wire thru the hole in the stone to secure till you permanently lock it in?
Hmmmmmmm, I had to think about that for a sec
Thank you so much.
Very nice, different design on either side. So it is a different pendent when you wear it. =)
This is so pretty!💖🥰🚙🇨🇦

I have a bunch of tiger eye stones that this will be perfect for. I'm going to try this after dinner
Beautiful!!
Almost like making a dream catcher but you keep going
thanks! this looks soo easy to do i hopei can do it!❤

It would be strong enough but too big to be comfortable on most wrists
Matt's Crazy Art thank you.
Love it thank you
So glad!
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Love what you did . Wil be trying that 😍have some beautyfull agate slices for that ❤😘
Is the wire half round or round? Is it soft, half hard or hard? Found a seller on Esty that charges about $16 dollars for 9.5 feet of sterling silver wire.
Get non tarnish silver plated wire.
Only about 20 cents a foot or less.
It is a success!!
very very pretty
Awesome!!!
You inspired me. I made a ring using a round cabochon tonight.
My piece I made up after 3rd day of doing learn how. Tap on a clip to paste it in the text box.
Love it!!❤
