The guy on the piano w the missing teeth is the singer, 2D, the weird green guy with the net is the Bass player, Murdoc. There are 2 other members who aren’t in the video - guitarist Noodle & drummer Russel. The cartoons don’t represent anybody real - in reality all the music is sung & performed by one guy, British musician Damon Albarn, and the band is animated by artist Jamie Hewlett. Gorillaz are mainly a rock band but they’re known for featuring a huge range of artists & styles, from pop, hip hop, rock, funk, you name it! They’ve had songs featuring Schoolboy Q, Danny Brown, MF Doom, too many to count really. All their music is really worth checking out though, and the videos are amazingly animated & directed. If you wanna look for more I’d definitely recommend you check out Feel Good Inc (feat De La Soul), probably their biggest song, or Clint Eastwood (feat Deltron 3000). You might already have heard it on tv or on the radio without knowing who it was - hope you enjoy!

Gorillaz is sort of a group that was created to make an MTV to outdo MTV in a way. They collaborate with all sorts of people and try to give the artists time to shine. Their first album was Clint Eastwood back in 2003, then Demon Days in I think 2005, then Plastic Beach, then Humanz, and now this. One of the things about the band though is that, even though they're made up, the characters sort of exist in their own world. Throughout the different albums they actually do age which is most notable with Noodle (the Japanese guitarist of the band (has a Zen Bond with 2D)) who started out at 13 years old after she mailed herself to them in a box. She was actually the end result of a super-soldier project in Japan and is the only known survivor as all the other kids participating in it were killed. Then she's around 15 during Demon Days (the album that has their most popular song Feel Good Inc.) after the band's broken up and she gets them back together after she kills the zombies that had infested the studio in their absence and then possibly dies in the final video of that album (El Manana). What actually happened isn't exactly clear as one story says she survived the helicopter attack with a parachute but another says she died, and both stories were told by the bassist (and self proclaimed leader of the group), Murdoc, who is completely untrustworthy and is always getting the band involved in bad deals and stuff (if her dying is true though Murdoc saved her from hell (he's a satanist that's dabbled in some weird mystical stuff at times). That sort of culminates in the Plastic Beach album where his years of lying and broken promises have him on the run after he kidnaps 2D again (the singer (who is the first member he recruited initially after denting his eyes by accident (that's why they don't have pupils in them) which resulted in giving him a godly singing voice (but when he normally talks it's like an eternal voice crack)) to head off to a trashmound in the ocean that a studio had been set up on called Plastic Beach which Murdoc hopes will be a sanctuary for all the repercussions of his bad deals over the years where no one can get to him. On the way there though a new character called The Boogeyman (implied to be one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse that Murdoc made a deal with years back (if I remember right I think it was to ensure that the Gorillaz would be famous) but, like with everyone else, he never made good on his end of the deal) is chasing Murdoc, 2D, and Cyborg Noodle (after Noodle's apparent death the band broke up but Murdoc was able to create a cyborg version of her to replace her using some of her old DNA). While they're headed there though it turns out in the video Melonchaly Hill that Noodle is actually alive and survives an attack by (and kills one of) some sky pirates (that I think were people that Murdoc was traveling with between Demon Days and Plastic Beach). She ends up running into Russel (the American drummer of the band (he used to have a rapping ghost in him in the first album Clint Eastwood but had him excorsized before Demon Days)) who has grown giant on his way to Plastic Beach by swimming through chemicals. It all culminates in a showdown on Plastic Beach when 2D, Murdoc, and Cyborg Noodle get there with all the people they collaborate with on the album in the video Rhinestone Eyes (which unfortunately they didn't have time or money or something for so they just put up a video of the storyboards for it) where the Boogeyman launches an assault on the island using ghost pirates and stuff which is ended when Noodle and Russel show up to help. Ever since then it hasn't been as plot-heavy, but there are still some things to note in most of the albums. After Plastic Beach 2D released an album of his own called The Fall which Damon made while they were doing the Plastic Beach Tour and which (in universe) I think is supposed to be about mostly 2D's relationship with Murdoc (who is always abusing him). In Humanz Murdoc's seen making some shady deal again and then is finally arrested for a while and in that period his friend, Ace (from the Gang Green Gang on Powerpuff Girls) filled in for him. During that time 2D became more arrogant and Noodle assumed that it was because of a demon that Murdoc was contacting her to try and get her to kill that changed how 2D acted, but it turned out it was just Murdoc not being there anymore that caused 2D to be that way. And now we're at The Song Machine which is all their new videos they're doing now. Murdoc's back, they're in a new Kong Studio (that's what their first studio was called which you can see on MTV Cribs), and there's portals that the studio can open to go to other parts of the world. That's first seen in Desole where Murdoc's looking around for everyone who's gone off to have fun without him for once causing him to start crying towards the end of the video. The video after that has Noodle chasing Murdoc and 2D on a motorcycle that 2D's driving (Murdoc was trying to get him away from the others so he could inject him with a truth-serum so that he'd tell him about the portals and how they work). After the video Noodle and Russel finally catch up with them and Noodle has to hold Russel back from beating Murdoc up (he beat him up before their first album because he found Murdoc having sex with 2D's girlfriend from back then (it's why Murdoc's nose looks all busted up)). In Pac-Man the band's experiencing oddities from a reality-warping arcade machine that Murdoc got while he sits in a little closet-area that he's converted into a mystical energy-harvesting chamber. He goes through a portal on the moon in Strange Timez. And here you see him trying to catch that ghost with a butterfly net. Way more information than you probably want, but that should get you up to speed on everything =P Their currents ages are 29 for Noodle (she turns 30 on Halloween), 42 for 2D, 45 for Russel, and 54 for Murdoc.
