i don't have much to add on the topic of style muses, but i have to say that i'm absolutely enamored by the way you speak and cover these topics. i feel like i come away from your videos with a deeper understanding of fashion and style. your channel is incredibly underrated and your personality is mesmerizing to watch ♡︎
I really appreciate this, this is seriously so sweet 🖤 and this truly means a lot, as I technically no longer work in the fashion industry this is my way still sticking to my roots in fashion so thank you
This video is so helpful, thank you so much! I'm 27 and I never "learned" how to dress myself, as the clothes sold in stores are the complete opposite of what I'm looking for and even worse, they didn't fit my body type, which lowered my self-esteem for long time (since I was a child I always felt like an old soul who loves lace, corsets, romance and vamps, and I never liked the colorful and sexy clothes of the 2000s), but now I decided to find or create my own alternative style, I started by buying some clothes but I was very overwhelmed by the fact that I couldn't find any "current" model that resonated with me, but after this video (and several others from your channel) I think I feel ready and inspired to start discovering myself and working on my style. For now my muses are Kamijo, Alice and Rapunzel from SinoAlice, Vil Schoenheit from Twisted Wonderland and some Jean Paul Gaultier runways. I'll keep working!
I like so much that I don't know what I like. i love the vibe and aesthetic of the virgin suicides but also of the craft. like full light and airy or complete darkness s what I want to emulate but nothing combined.
The two characters that I was obsessed were sharpay evans and jade west and most people don’t notice but they quite similar in some ways they’d very dedicated to their art they scare people they can be possessive I could keep talking but yeah, in style don’t know how I will mix this two but love the two styles
I think both characters embody a very maximalist style so thats one of approaching it! Sharpay being much more pink and Jade having more of an edge could make for an interesting combo but I absolutely see what you mean - take what your passionate about & really showcase it in your style like how they both do 🖤
funny that some of what i draw inspiration from nowadays is 80s strawberry shortcake characters and fairies from like elizabeth gordon and cecily mary barker. it has to be some sort of inner child healing since i felt the need to look "tough" from very young but now looking ridiculously and otp soft is bringing me so much joy. your channel is so cool to help exploring more fashion ❤
Lucy had such an impact-not just for her fashion but for simply being a baddie. Seeing her and Morticia mentioned together made me realize how stunning she would look as Morticia, especially if inspired by one of the older versions rather than the more recent ones. (Not that any adaptation of Morticia is bad-I can’t name a bad one! Just a different vibe.) And Nana! Wow. I love everything about this video. Have you heard of Azadi Adornments? "Azadi Adornments is a captivating journey in jewelry artistry, created by Nahal Azadi in 2018. Rooted in her enduring Iranian heritage, 'Azadi,' meaning 'freedom,' serves as a gateway between body and expression. Each piece fuses sacred Islamic scripts with traditional Middle Eastern adornments, paying homage to her ancient bloodlines." I think you might like them! Mainly because of the overall vibe from your mentions-and that cheetah print and necklace just gave me the same energy. This is an older video, so I’m not sure if it still fits, but it made me think of it. I've done the zodiac fashion inspo before but never based on my rising sign-mainly because that’s Oprah and Taylor Swift, lol. But I looked into it more, and the first match I got was freaking Frank Zappa and Britney Spears. And honestly? I can’t deny the T. Swift or Oprah connections, even if my style leans more toward a "trashy" version (I love Courtney Love and Dolly Parton’s prostitute chic era) or something grungier, which is probably where Britney comes in. Then again, where I live, everyone dresses like a version of Frank Zappa anyway. Dita is so unique that I feel like everyone sees a bit of themselves in her. She confuses every fashion girlie the same way Lucy probably confuses every bisexual into thinking they might actually be a lesbian. Everything looks so good that you think, this is perfect, this will work for me too!-until you try it, and it’s just not quite right.
This was absolutely amazing! It's so nice to find a channel that caters to darker aesthetics. As a woman nearing her 30s, I've found that it's sometimes hard to find new muses. Luckily one of my style muses is Debbie Harry, who was already in her 30s and 40s during the height of Blondie's fame. Still, I don't want to think that I have to dress solely in capes when I age.
I love that you talked about video game characters as style inspo and even mentioned resident evil - i literally just got myself dark brown motorcycle boots because i loved karl Heisenberg's costume design from RE8. The shape of his long billowing coat + close fitting outfit underneath+ heavy boots is so appealing to me. Now picture that on a Romantic hyper femme body type, lol. Thanks for this video, its so nice to watch all of your style ideas.
Yeeeesss! Resident Evil will always be my favorite videogame fashion inspiration along with Final Fantasy! Videogames is such an important part of me, it was bound to show up in my style
Bettie Paige, Louise Brooks & Jamie Lee Curtis. Clean lines, minimal make-up with maximum impact, & a Signiture hair style that requires little styling and is much the same day to evening. Great Vidi 😎☕💋
I share a Virgo rising, Gemini mid heaven, and Leo moon with Charlize Theron and man do we give off the same vibe. I’m obsessed with everything she wears
Love this video! I think I have been unintentionally channeling my muses in my own way… I’ve always loved Jessica Rabbit. Yuna from FFX and Dagger from FF9 had a big impact on me as a kid as well as Angelina Jolie and Marilyn as celebrities. Joan Holloway from Mad Men inspired me too (I’m also a SD). My muses seems to be a mix of innocent/ princess with very sultry and womanly which I think sums up what I like. I’m a Gemini with a lot of cancer placements - similar to Jolie- and a Taurus rising
I enjoyed your video and am loving your take on the Kibbe type and combining it with astrology. I think that helps take it from literal to vision, imo. I’m a soft gamine with a flamboyant gamine flair, but am trying to bring out my Latinx roots. Your video helped me identify some of my muses, like Selena and Lila Downs.
I'm so glad you enjoyed my Kibbe+Astrology+Muse videos! Because I relate, to find a source of inspiration goes beyond looks - theres more to it like how you want to bring out your Latinx roots into your style 🖤
This video came at the perfect time! I’ve been quite intentional in trying to develop my style over the past three years and it’s been a slow & enjoyable journey. I’ve always loved the old movies of the 40’s and 50’s, and women like Dita Von Teese, Marilyn Monroe, Sherilyn Fenn and Dorothy Dandridge are a few of my style muses, but I do have some faint memories of the 90s and early 2000s and the very minimalist and sleek Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren aesthetic. I think of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and Sade. My style is a bit of retro inspired sensuality, yet very natural, relaxed, effortless & timeless. Thanks so much for this video. I’ve gave this video a like!
Omg you mention Nana. I didn’t expect that but spot on. Great video :) very inspiring. I have toned down a lot my goth style over the years but I want to re establish a cool corporate goth signature. Your videos help :)
I don't really have any style muse but realized this year I was pinning on Pinterest a lot of pictures of Esther Quek and Blair Eadi look soooo with a big dash of old Ralph Lauren (rugby collection from the early 2000) and Lena hoschek. As for Lucy Lu she is for me one of the most beautiful women equal to Angelina Jolie.... like you can't be more beautiful then those two ladies! I loved her in Elemantary.
4:40 I can totally relate to being affected by a lack of representation in media and how the few cultural muses you do have are people who you cling to. Women like Rachel True and Kat Graham - Rochelle from The Craft and Bonnie Bennett from The Vampire Diaries, were among my first muses. Now, I have love for characters like Prudunce from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Carmen from Siempra Bruja - one of the rare protrayals of a black witch in a non-stereotypical portrayal in Columbian media. ...I love black witches. 🖤😂💜
This is interesting but what makes it really difficult for me to implement is that all those inspiration are super thin, and no matter how we are the same Kibbe on paper, the effect is just not the same on my plump/curvier body. I loved Nana Osaki growing up, but to be fair she's drawn rail thin, and I just felt clownish when I tried to emulate her.
Have you seen Darlingheart on Instagram? She wears similar prints and styles to Nana and shes a curvy muse as well! Also Micheline Pitt's brand also has curvier models and her clothes lean on the dark aesthetic or can easily be styled as such - I also think only use your muses to a certain point and eventually just dress in the clothes that make you feel like your best self 🖤
I relate to my libra rising sisters Doja cat, zoe kravitz and beyonce. My venus in aries Helen bowen carter and rihanna is venus in aries , pisces sun and moon in aries that i also share and i really relate to her style the most. However i have been lucky to find Jean Harlow is also pisces sun, aries moon , Mc cancer and libra rising 🙌🏻 her style seemed to be glamoures , sensual but when she werent working she leant on the mid heaven cancer with the comfort and i do relate to that . She has also been typed as TR by kibbie similar to my body. As a true Libra rising i dont tend look at others for inspiration but i love snything thst mskes me more inentionsl snd aware. This has been interesting and educational as always, thank you x
I think due to the Olsen twins past their look is very quiet, style. Not showy their brand even shows mainly in haute couture fashion. That’s very posh and selective.
Absolutely loved this video- the way you express so eloquently these simple but powerful thoughts/ideas was so nice to watch. No joke, had my notes app out writing down what came to mind 🫶✨💫

Nothing wrong with switching it up!

@@silkymochi that makes sense i am a maximalist when it comes to room decor so I should translate this in my style thank you

Not that exact one but Bratz Oooh La La changed mine lol
