- my sisters and i were at the drugstore recently and we looked over at the hair stuff and thought..lets all dye our hair. soooo this is what happened! I went from dark brown to silverish grey with hints of purple/blue and i love ittt! For future at home hair bleaching...if you're going to do back to back bleaching sessions, u shouldn't tone it in between the bleachings because there is no point for it. You're essentially bleaching, toning, and bleaching which removes the toner, the reason being that bleach removes ALL pigment (both natural hair pigment and artificial pigment aka toner). You're unnecessarily damaging your hair with the extra toning that you're bleaching out with the second bleaching.

@@lainawilson497 Yes, a light pale yellow is enough, the toner will lighten it too & your hair won't be as damaged! I was a hairdresser yrs ago, still do hair once in a while, I 've bleached my hair many times(my natural color is a med. to dark brown, it gets darker the older I get), & I've never had to or would ever bleach my hair to a white blonde, it's not healthy for your hair, or necessary! Glad you said something!

She had ALOT of unnecessary bleaching and toning, theirs alot better videos that CORRECTLY show how you bleach and tone to get a silver color. The way she did this is dangerous and a waste of time. I'm surprised she had hair left.

For the look you are going for it helps to section off and back comb (tease) at the base of the hair until there is at least an inch or so of teasing, put bleach with 40 volume on from the start of the teasing to the ends, but at the teasing side don"t just put the bleach in a gobby straight line but feathered in and as you work the bleach to the ends you saturate the hair more, let process with a cap past brassy(orange- gold) using a hair dryer can help this process, wash out without shampoo, just water and condition being careful not to irritate the scalp. Then add toner with 10 volume for deposit only. When you go back and forth with bleaching and toning you"re really over processing your hair and causing more damage.

I’m a professional and I love your videos 💕 I never comment but just wanted to say use 20 not 40 vol when using a toner. And I think it was mentioned already not to tone in between because you’ll be just bleaching it out anyways so it’s a waste of toner ! Love ya girl 💕💕

How did she get the silver? I recently had my hair done and it was bleached and they put a silver color on it, but it ended up on the tips and it was blue-ish. How do I tone it lighter?

Amazing result! Have to say every time I go to the hairdresser, I get pressured to cut and yeah no I don't want to.
Also they seem to hate it when anyone considers DIY hair colouring. I did book an appointment today but then cancelled cos they sort of rubbed me up the wrong way.

I do love your color! I’m not a professional bc like you I experiment ., I will tell you from what I’ve learned is when you do bleach there’s no need to tone .. then bleach again. I think you had too many unnecessary steps but it all comes with us learning.

oh my gosh, thank you SO MUCH for not using a silver dye but instead muting a black dye. I've been wondering how to do this because I'd like to play with the shades of silver/grey myself. I've watched like 50 videos trying to figure out the best way to go about that.

QUESTION: ☝️😌? If my hair colour is already the same color as your roots (the darker end result roots, that is) am I good to go with out doing them at all? Almost sounds a silly question😏, but I DO ask anyway? Never hurts, it is my HAIR after all😘.
AND curious... "IF" Dyeing roots, should it be done at the end... AFTER the bleach and blonde job?

Just to help in the future when you tone hair you can apply all over and use a cap or just clip it up instead of foils. Toner doesn't need to be protected from air drying it out like bleach, and the heat isn't needed as much. Also toner can be applied to damn/towel dried hair! Not having to dry it fully will save a lot of time! 😊

If it's splattering onto your neck and head, try smearing some vaseline onto the areas before as a shield

@@bedheadbeth Vaseline isn't ideal. It chokes your skin cause it's airtight. A and D vitamin does the same thing but breathes better. that's why they use it for tattoos
Evan High it’s used as a barrier. It’s what we use during the bleaching/colouring. It’s. Not a skin treatment. Vaseline is the best barrier.
@@sueember8786 if you're fast enough it doesnt matter. But vaseline is an airtight barrier. Which means you can suffocate the area you're topically applying it too. But it's whatever to me lol

If you’re gonna bleach again, then there is no need to tone. When you bleach, it immediately strips the all of the toner out.
So don’t tone until you’re finished bleaching.

Thought this was gonna end bad because you were toning and bleaching repeatedly (which you don't have to tone if you are going to keep bleaching because the bleach will remove the toner) but it came out awesome when you put the black in your roots and it melted the black down the rest of your hair! Really loving it!

Well I held my breath while you were putting your hair through all those processes. But it turned out great. I need to do similar....but I am 70 and have mixed natural grey, natural blonde and dark blonde tones. Very informative, well done!
