- hey bedheads! as you saw in my last two videos, i bleached my hair (again)! and since i got such a good response from my last hair bleaching video + had so much fun doing it, i figured i'd film the process again! here's how i bleach + tone my hair!

You have bleached it twice with 40 vol developer and you still have hair and your scalp is fine?! How ?

I did bleach my hair a couple of times. The first time my scalp burned so much, but the second time I saturated my hair with coconut oil and really protected my hair and stopped the burning. Also try to use 20 volume developer on your roots, not 40 volume. 40 vol. is too damaging for the hair. You will also always going to have to bleach the roots twice as your hair is really dark. Maybe that's why the toner didn't work the first time because your hair wasn't light enough.

why do they make 40 developer then?
for asian hair and african american hair etc. 20 would have been fine for hair like this :)
people are crazy. for dark hair to reach white its either bleach once with 40 vol, or twice with 30 vol. you have to have a really pale yellow, like inside of a banana peel. Not orange or golden. I've used 40 vol on myself for over a year and a half, with olaplex of course.
It looks so good!! I used Redken AntiSnap treatment after I bleached and it made all the difference in the world! I've just discovered your channel and I love binge watching you lol! 💕

I believe you can make your own toner using manic panic purple with a lot of white conditioner in it because it cancels out the brassiness I used to have silver hair/white hair it was cool but waay too much work to keep up and my hair is naturally pretty light but for people who didn't know what they were doing you did pretty good still have all your hair!

The orange/pink was from the black stain/pigment you used on your roots the first time, reacting with the bleach. It's amazing how much your hair can tolerate and still look really awesome! The Shea Moisture you're using is probably really helping!

You and your hair are stunning! The bleach turned your hair pink because of the adore dye left on your hair from the last time! Even though it faded, there was still some left. Ive had the same results trying to bleach out any shade of adore! Its so funny that their black dye turns pink, but it does. So does the blue black!

I suggest using the Clairol Kaleidocolors Blue Powder Lightener with a 30 vol. It should lighten it up enough in one go.

thank you! you should totally do it! if you end up hating it (which i don't think you will) you can just dye it back to your natural color! i use goldwell purple shampoo and conditioner for blondes and highlights!

I’m glad they were helpful to you! idk if it will work on black course hair...it’s a pretty damaging process. I would wait a few days in between each bleaching process.
There is a product called Care and Comfort that you can buy at Sally's Beauty Supply stores. If you add it to any of the dye or bleach you use it makes it so that it doesn't burn your scalp.

when bleaching or dying your hair you only shampoo your hair, after your done dying your hair you only use conditioner. no shampoo as it strips the dye, turning it pastel colour. and when bleaching you should wait at least 3 days to a week to bleach again cause you will kill your hair, and for vegen free hair dyes try brite, its made in Australia and it is way cheaper then manic panic and arctic fox hair. its like $5-9AUS and it is amazing i use it all the time. and with the purple colour unless you want to have purple hair for a long time. it stayed in my hair for 3-4 months before finally going pastel colour. i hope this help you with dying your hair in the future

How long did you leave Wella Toner on? Each time I use it it either makes it too Grey or too Platinum Blonde :C I've been trrying to get that silver white but I always miss the mark! :C

girl idk how you even did this and it worked for u so well!! i tried doing it to my hair and it was SUCH a failure idk what i did wrong. my hair is so dead and i had to go get it fixed by a professional for like 180$!! i was so mad tbh

I got my roots from black to white using 20 developer, using 40 is insane and your natural hait is light!
lollll I know 40’s cray buuuuut it works a lot better/faster for me than 20
To avoid further damage and chemical burns on her scalp she should have used blonde hair Dye after she bleached her roots the second time

How do you maintain it
if you saturate your hair in coconut before applying the bleach it won't burn and when you wash the bleach out your hair is still soft!! xoxo
Hey your hair looks great. I love it. I would suggest pravana products. They are cruelty free. I've never used their toner but I use their hair dye and I like it a lot. Also, what about arctic fox brand? They're also cruelty free and vegan. I heard lots of good things about them and plan on trying them when I have to re-dye my purple hair.

+The Russell's at the time it was my natural color but all through middle school and hs I dyed my hair all the time but had only previously bleached it twice.
Oh 40 volume, I can feel the pain 😂 I love your videos! Btw put purple shampoo on your dry hair and leave it for about an hour and it'll turn your hair white

bethany grace I do it every other shampoo, works great for me but fair warning if you leave it in for over 15 minutes it will tinge your hair purple (which I personally don't mind but)

If you ever bleach your roots again you can put one packet of sweeten low in the bleach and it keeps your head from burning! Weird but it works I promise😂

my hair was just really healthy before i bleached it bc i never use heat on it! (ie flat iron, blow dryer, curler, etc)
bethany grace actually mine also, I adore my hair so much so when I did bleach it I only bleach the end of it so I don't ruin my entire hair 😂, but it end up died so I chop my hair off 🤔.

A cool way to tone your hair cruelty free is to just dilute purple manic panic with white conditioner and use that!! It'll get rid of any brass and give your hair a cool tone

So I know I am super late, but for you to have a simpler future figure I would give some advice so your head won’t cry lol.( I am a professional)
The night before or even the day you color it, put coconut oil for like a hour or so, it will help with the damage, wash out, then bleach, also try your hardest not to scratch or brush your hair to hard before you bleach, that is another reason why it burns so bad haha, when you bleach, use a cap and you could blow dry it to help with the process( sunlight is the best) also don’t bleach then tone then bleach it’s unnecessary and you’re wasting money, just bleach and if you need to bleach again just do that, but if you do do a back to back bleach, try to wait at least a day and do the coconut oil again, then bleach. Then tone. You can do this for any color you do and save some $$ also get a sallys card, you can get discounts! Much love!

why bleach it twice???? if u leave it on for full hour no need to bleach twice and less damage? in salon we never bleach hair more than once, u need to leave the bleach on long enough for it to lift?

what a SHIRT
When you overtone your hair using a permanent color like the Wella, and you bleach over that color, it can turn a color like it did pink, meaning there was too much green in the color that was left over in your hair.
You don’t need to tone that often, get a purple shampoo and use that to tone your hair instead of damaging it with color that often.
Also, now that hair has been bleached several times, don’t use a 40vol again, your hair will fall out.
ahhh I’ve learned so much since this video!lol but I always use 40 vol and my hair has never fallen out🤷🏼♀️ I think I’m just lucky though haha
I don’t know about that...maybe because it’s not a professional product it’s weaker than normal, because there’s no luck when it comes to science.
I rarely ever use 40vol on any of my clients, never on myself and never ever on anyone’s scalp! Your scalp should never burn like that. I use a 20vol when I’m retouching my roots and I don’t ever overlap the bleach into previously lightened hair. If I want to open the cuticle for it to take toner better I’ll shampoo in the leftover bleach for just a minute or so but that’s it.
