    BEFORE you head out there, downtrade all the G5 mats you have. THEN, go and refill them all to max. Most efficient that way.

      There are no G5 raw mats.

    • @CMDR_Shokwave
      @CMDR_Shokwave Місяць тому

      @KajuTheRudeMonke Correct. Raw materials are only 4 tiers. Data and Manufactured materials have 5 tiers. The point is the same, tho. Whatever it is that you are going to farm, trade away what you have before you go fill it all back up again, especially the Raw Mats big farm systems -as they are quite a bit away from the bubble. With engineering fixed up now and an SCO drive, the other 2 are quite easy to find and harvest. Still good to trade the common HGE G5 for the trickier ones to find and just farm near a trader system.

    Finally, someone who talks and explains slowly and basically comprehensibly.
    So far, the vast majority of people on UA-cam who point out that their video is for beginners are talking too fast and explaining in exactly the same way. Too fast.
    I am definitely not a native English speaker. But even for the people who do talk and explain in my native language, if they talk too fast and explain too fast, I stop the video and I don't go back to their channel.
    The way they talk is like the way they talk to their friends.
    Well done!

    I wasn't aware that FDev had slightly nerfed the crystal plants.. so thanks very much for this info. I used to use my trusty DBX for raw mats harvesting. Looks like I might need to re-jig one of my Pythons (or maybe a 'Conda like you did) for this. But that will be a while yet. I fully maxxed out *all* my raw mats (as well as manufactured and encoded) before loading all my ships aboard my carrier and heading out to Colonia to unlock all the Engineers there, so as to upgrade all my ships at the same time.

    I have maybe 2,400/hr "invested" in this game. I've only played in solo mode, never ever once even clicked on open play mode. I have 9 ships(i think), 2 of the biggest are Anaconda and Corvette. All my ships are A rated ONLY, 85% of my play has been combat(Elite ranking). I can go into any hazardous resource site, or high conflict zones and not even lose my shield once(although my hull will take damage from those pesky squadrons bots that are moderately engineered from bleed through shots). Even though I've never been destroyed in my conda or vette, i know if i ever go into open play with my Elite combat rating and A rated pure combat builds, i know for a fact I'd be destroyed within 15 minutes of joining open play.
    So, the moral of this story is I play games to have fun, i hate grinding, they ruin peoples love for games. I dominate P.V.E, but in open I'd be demolished by people like you that grind out engineering materials, as i don't have the attention span(literally) to play several hundreds of hours of gameplay just to engineer ONE ship.

    • @RaineDearGames-jx4zb
      @RaineDearGames-jx4zb  13 днів тому

      First off, thanks for stopping by and checking out the channel. People play the game the game the way they want to play it, its all about doing what you want to do 🙂 As far as you getting ruined by me, I kinda doubt it... most of the time I'm not even flying a combat ship, I think I'm "Dangerous" in combat but not "Elite", Elite in everything else but CQC. I don't go looking for fights in open, but if I'm in a sketchy system I carry a big stick anyway (engineered weapons) As far as taking hundreds of hours to engineer a ship, the most time consuming part for me is gathering the signal data (if needed) and traveling to all the different engineers, it really doesn't take as long as it used to. Big thing is just having a plan and sticking to it, use one of the third party sites and design your ship to maximize the design, I find just designing a ship to be fun 🙂I'm out in the black right now, flying an Imperial Courier that doesn't even have weapons on it, but it will boost to 850 and jump almost 50 LY and land on a postage stamp, which is good for Exobiology (which I am Elite IV in 🙂) o7 Commander, hope to bump into you in open one day, it's not all as bad as people make it out to be... most of the gankers camp out in the engineer systems or the starting system 🙂

    A little tip about the remote release flak launchers. You may have the free ones FDEV gave out in your outfitting store from when they did that event some time back, I can't remember what it was, but they were basically engineered with different colours so they could be used as "fireworks", so probably Guy Fawkes night here in the UK, or your regional equivalent, 4th of July or whatever. Anyway, these particular remote release flak launchers DO NOT work for farming trees, as I personally found out after travelling the 1500LY trip. This was before I saw this video btw.
    I believe these free launchers are massively nerfed on there damage output, I guess so people could fire them at each other willy nilly, as you do with fireworks in real life, and as a result they do not have enough DPS to shift a shard from a tree. You can only use the "real" remote release flak launchers which you have to buy. The wiki is the best place to find where to buy these as they are not just available anywhere from what I can see, and I think they have to be unlocked.
    As for the video, I've never heard anyone else make the connection on what might happen with the hoards of abandoned limpets, that is such a funny idea 😆. And the precedent has already been set with VGER on Star Trek! 🤣, which I believe is actually in the game, pre-sentience.

    You have just earned a Sub thanks to this video!
    However, for someone who is returning to the Horizons Black Sea after 2-3 years of inactivity (namely because of school) I know about the Jameson Farm for Data Farming and this one for Raws (no one ever gave a clear explanation (Thank you for that btw)) but for Manufactured, I've heard of a place called "Dav's Hope" but that's mostly it. Finding it should be easy. I'm assuming it works in a similar manner to the other two (collect, relog, repeat) but just in case: Do you know if that has changed at all and if so, what changed and do you plan on doing a guide for the other two (Data and Manufactured) as well? All the other guides about them seem out of date. This would be the most up to date guide I've found.

    • @RaineDearGames-jx4zb
      @RaineDearGames-jx4zb  10 місяців тому +1

      Not a quick subject to cover, for me I still go to the Jameson crash site to collect data, sounds like you know the routine there... collect log repeat and go to Diaguandri to trade... works but slow because of the trading across costs alot.
      Manufactured, I planned on doing a video on. Yes you CAN go to Davs hope but a better way is high grade emissions, it would take too long to go into detail here, but if you are interested check out videos done a few years ago by @hawkesgaming the method still works, but high grade emissions seem to be a bit harder to come by nowadays, especially ones of a duration long enough to make them worthwhile, than they used to be. The basic premise still holds and is much, much faster than doing the loop at Davs hope. Imperial shielding is by far the easiest high grade to gather and trading across for the hard to get ones like Pharmaceutical isolators, still holds. There are some manufactureds that you can only get as mission rewards, like focus crystals and bio conductors. Best bet for those is either Robigo passenger runs (boring) or combat missions like pirate kill missions. If you go the pirate route, stack a bunch of missions from the same provider and lots of the time, killing one pirate counts in several of the same missions. • @RaineDearGames-jx4zb

      You'll have to move to my knowledge, there was apparently an update to how many materials you get from one area (increased) but I haven't checked as I haven't logged into the game in months. If you need to move you just need to fly your ship normally until you spot another grouping of shard trees, they are pretty common and it won't take long to find another grouping of them 🙂

    • @RaineDearGames-jx4zb
      @RaineDearGames-jx4zb  6 місяців тому

      @@derekajpayne Yeah, that is the proper color on this planet, although most of the planet is listed as a hotspot, the dispersion of trees is pretty sparse compared to other biological hotspots on other planets, so it is less critical, compared to looking for other life on other planets where sometimes the hotspots are tiny in comparison and you don't really see them until just before you drop out of orbital cruise. There are lists of planet coordinates that people have mapped on these planets, where much larger groupings of trees exist, out there on the internet. But, I think with how fast this method is for collecting, it matters less where you are, because you never land, never leave your ship... it is quite fast and easy to fly to next grouping of trees.🙂

      Depends on your jumprange, about 40 LY will work, more is better. When I first started out I managed to do it with a ship with less, but I had to jump up from the bubble first a few hundred light years, the computer likes to plot in a pretty straight line, so if there is a gap between you and the destination it will fail to plot. 🙂

      Honestly your best bet is re-fueling from stars, run a good sized scoop to reduce refuel time... just don't get too close, once your refuel rate reaches about half of the rated maximum of the scoop... most ships can just sit there (you don't need to move your ship once refuel starts) and refuel without overheating. You can see the stars 'exclusion zone' the dangerous area as a circle around the star as you move towards it, just avoid going inside this circle. The truth is, although the 'taking heat damage' looks and feels dramatic, it really doesn't do alot of damage overall... I watched videos on combat where the ship goes up to 600% heat and they didn't blow up... it's not that bad 🙂. Also some stars you can't scoop from at all like brown dwarves and T-tauri stars... they are distinctive looking and have a much larger exclusion zone, relative to their size. If you are determined not to refuel from stars at all, you best get used to the idea of not leaving the bubble of 'civilized' space. I wouldn't recommend going anywhere without a fuel scoop. ... that or make friends with someone with a Fleet Carrier and tag along everywhere they decide to go. Best of luck, commander 🙂

Not all kits are available for all ships. You can 'Earn' up to 400 ARX's free a week, just by doing stuff in game like handing in exploration data... or you can buy the ARX'S with real money, though I don't recommend that. Just save your weekly ARX's up and be sure of what you want to buy. Some things like ship kits can be pretty expensive, like 20,000 ARX's... so it might take a few months of maxing out your free ARX's to get something you want. @@DavidHanniganJr Even though I have comment moderation set to the lowest value, because I take care of my own comments...UA-cam has flagged your original post as "potentially inappropriate" probably because of how the word begins? which is weird because it is a word that UA-cam uses themselves and is an actual button I can press on my channel 🙂Your response post apparently though, there is no problem with that at all...🤣 I can't manually O.K. the post... I guess its just too offensive, so just a heads up Big Brother will be watching you closer now 🤣

      Yeah, but driving around in the SRV can be fun too, it's how I got so good at doing jumps and loops was shooting the shards off and instead of waiting for them to fall to the ground, boost up with the cargo hatch open and scoop them up mid air... can be fun for a break. 🙂

      A 2:20 video is useless to a creator, youtube won't run ads on it and the creator gets nothing in return... I for one am grateful for the information provided and given the amount of time people spend in Elite trying to gather raw materials, I consider it a good return on time investment. If you think you can do better, perhaps you should start your own channel... and see how things go for you.
      EDIT: Sorry I guess you did... easy to miss, what with your 3 subscribers over 15 years.
