You need to turn your view distance and quality of terrain to low and they will despawn@@vakeervondelecruax8526 but a lot of these don't spawn the correct materials anymore since the last patch
The SRV collecting was really the only option until about a year ago, that is when the collector limpets were modified to help Thargoid war. The Mats vanishing is kind of a glitch, it happens when you run them over with SRV, and sometimes when you step on them on foot. Materials are pretty fragile and have timed lifespan, so them being destroyed by an SRV running over them seems plausible, on foot less so. There is a couple things you experienced that aren't glitches in my opinion: @1:47 The 2 materials that are "stuck" in this situation all you have to do is target them and drive next to them and the will be collected. @3:25 you cant shoot through the Brain Tree to hit the material on the other side just like you cant shoot an NPC on the other side of an asteroid, sure you can target him, but the projectiles wont pass through solid objects. @3:52 That material did not "levitate", its perspective, you jumped, and as you started descending from your jump the material was also descending, making it appear to "levitate" Great Vid! Thanks for that tip making the trees de-spawn (11k hours and I didnt know that lol) o7
So I landed on a planet with braintrees yesterday and went through some of the same stuff (minerals wouldn't drop, got stuck, etc.). Eventually, I found that if I targeted the minerals that were caught in the tree, my scoop would pick them up by just driving up to the tree. They didn't have to drop to the ground. If not targeted, nothing. Seemed consistent on two planets. Wonder if that's true for others.
Epic, only one usage of the Ray Liotta scene would've made it for me and then the Valkyries the only thing might've been missing IMO is Barber's Adagio For Strings when you Napalmed that jungle of braintrees with the flak! What a scene that was! And what a solution! This was a good format and I enjoyed catching some of your stream the other night too, the crowd demands more! I definitely stick with the 1-4-1 power config and make use of the vertical thrust more. When in SRV if you always make sure to target the scooped item, even if stuck in a tree you can cargo scoop from your canopy or roof so it would seem. I like to try and catch my mats on Low-G worlds, or see if I can frontflip and catch it for extra show off, the idea that the whole "face" of the vehicle is the scoop is the only thing making it work. For your stuck scenario, I'd be full reverse (also where the full ENG pips will serve you), then "stir the pot" with your stick, it's basically like traction control but switching power between corners of the vehicle rather than wheels. If this fails, I do the same trick with full vertical thrust on and/or "pumping" the thrust can help too. If all of this fails, the disembark trick or worst case a re-log should spawn it one Meter back from stuck position. And yes ...... Braintrees ARE evil and they DO speak to me when I'm scanning their bio signs!
Needing some general mfg's recently, I went to Davs Hope. Though in the course of over 9,000 hour's. I've been there dozen's of times in the past, thus I know how it work's when doing the loop and gathering the variuos mats. "BUT" two week's ago, I went there and the first trip around, though I had targeted them, and having my scoop open, which I knew was open when I had already picked up some mat''s. There came a point where as though I drove over them, scoop wide open. They never made it inside, and if fact complety just disapeared. I reloged, tried again, and the same thing happened. After a dozen reelog's, I had only collected about half of the mat's I should have when they never made it inside, and simply disapeared. I even tried reloging from the desk top a couple of times, and the I call it a glitch, continued. Got frustraded, and went to Robigo, where I had a Python docked, built for the sole purpose of when not needing credit, doing passenger run's that offered me the mat's I needed. Davs Hope is dead to me, I'll never return there.
Very helpful thanks. I've been going brain dead just driving my SRV around looking for the occasional thing to shoot and see what spawns (like the old way). Only just heard about the brain trees. Will try this tomorrow.
@@Mile13Gaming Very good thanks. I didn't find any Selenium, mainly because i don't know how to find a spot with xxx,yyy (IYSWIM). But I landed on the planet searched for the trees which are quite easy to find IMO and filled up with Manganese. Then went to a trader to exchange 😁
The flak farming is really the only sensible option out there. I still prefer to do it at the crystal shards, even though they are further away from the bubble. I just finde them more consistent.
flak&limpet is the winner, but actually, if you just drive up to the tree, like touching the trunk, with scoop open, shot-off resources are picked off even from pretty high above the SRV.
Dumb question - how do you have your fire groups set-up? Flak on 1 and collector on 2? I have 2 flak and 2 collectors. Don't know why, but I always have a bit of a time with fire groups. Thanks again.
You can really say them up any way you like. I just had flak on primary and collector on secondary, because those were the only two things I needed at the time.
It still works. But i have to go 1.22km high to hide the trees, then go down around 1.8km to not lose my limpets in my DBX (max range limpet is 1.20km for mine). And ofc i only brought a single collector limpet, so i have horrible speed... lol 😂
So there are planets with mineral outcroppings for each of the grade 5 raw materials. Two trips to each with a stop at the trader will fill your entire raw material storage in a couple hours.
Also do note that great bug where the brain trees only spawn polyporous growths (low grade mats and selenium but no other high grade mats). I don't know if it has been fully fixed, it is so random.
_Might_ not be a bug. At least not a spawning error. Seems to be a permanent property of the planets whether they spawn Poly-only or Phloem-included. I recently toured the Guardian sites and was tracking this (as it is annoying as hell indeed). For example if you visit Synuefe CN-H d11-63, per planet spawns are consistent as: Poly-only bodies: A2c, A2ea, A3b, A3c Phloem bodies: A1a, A2d, A3da It was the same for ~50 other systems with brain trees, a Poly-only planet will not change it's stripes, but same goes for the Phloemies.
Other grade 5 material then Selenium is not at this location, that Is a completely different place * YTTRIUM - OUTOTZ LS-K D8-3 B 5 A, * ANTIMOTY - OUTOTZ LS-K D8-3 B 5 C, * POLONIUM - HIP 36601 C 1 A, * TELLURIUM - HIP 36601 C 3 B, * TECHNETIUM HIP 36601 C 5 A
I found technitium also consistently in these patches forgot the name of the tree but technitium is consistant there, from poly growth, selenium and i think manganese i forgot,
Thx for showing us all the broken game mechanics in this game. Pretty sure FDev is still unaware of this to this date. Or they possibly don't care anymore. Thank god my mat inventory is full at the moment. I won't touch this evil engineering shit until we got a revamp / improvements this year. Happy collecting y'all.
I found encoded stuff and High Density whatsits easier to find and farm, but materials were a pain until I heard about these brain trees. What I'd REALLY like is a way to buy these engineering materials. There's enough grind in this game as it is. I don't mind grinding for ranks etc. but find the engineering 'farming' a royal PITA.
No need to move on to the next patch. Just fly up high enough that the patch actually DOES despawn, then fly back down, rinse, and repeat.
Nice, thanks!
Is this still valid? Trees don't seem to despawn on reversing....
Thanks for the extra help

Like 7 if the 8 locations for the tier4 materials don't drop the grade 4 materials anymore since the last patch

Turn your train quality to low and now distance to low

I meant grade 4 but UA-cam has decided I can’t edit or delete my comment.
You gotta hop the sec up into the tree with the jump jets
goated. thank you!
That may be my first ever "goated". Thanks!
really good vid ty
Glad you enjoyed it!

Legit this this toaday, still works fone, but when I want to farm Techtonium, none dropped
Watching this makes my soul hurt in sympathy
You can always fly your srv into the tree to grab stuff
F it, I’m just gonna go to the anaconda crash site
I wish they would allow you to collect at least some materials when you're on foot.
Ditto.
Hilarius 🤣
Thanks!
I luv FYZIKS in ED universe
Just select the harvest and then just drive rather close without hitting it and boost and yell scoop it
