    Lucid has made a name for itself in the bed-in-a-box world with its wide range of mattresses and accessories aimed at satisfying every individual’s specific sleep needs. I’ve taken a look at several of their products before (including the 16” memory foam mattress and adjustable bed base), but today I’m honing in on the brand’s 10 Inch Bamboo Charcoal and Aloe Vera Hybrid Mattress.
    As with most hybrid designs, this one is aimed at creating an all-encompassing sleep experience that’s as pressure-relieving as it is supportive. But is it up to the task? I won’t know until I put it through a few tests, which will help me figure out how it feels, how it sleeps and whether or not it could be the mattress of your dreams!

    I love your reviews and after months of watching, going to brick and mortar, I have learned an enormous amount from you and some others. I have previously purchased a 3k latex mattress, big mistake as I'm a 90% side sleeper, not only did it kill my shoulders due to the firmness, it ended up with depressions very early on. Before that mattress and ever since after I have slept on one form of a waterbed or another, with the latest being a soft sided pillow top, foam/water 100% waveless waterbed. It like all other foam based has slowly deteriorated over the past 7 yrs., do it's time to renew. I like the feeling of this bed but the hassle when replacing is something I don't want to deal with, I paid 800.00 for this originally and now the price is almost twice, so it's a no go.
    So after 40 hrs of viewing, comparing, learning and talking, I have found price isn't the defining factor of whether a particular mattress will feel the best, it's knowing your body and trying out many different types. I"m a woman middle aged and normal weight for my height 5'7" and 135-140lbs. Side sleeper mainly, back/stomach occasionally.
    I believe the best style of mattress for me or anyone who loves the slight sinking/pressure relieving feel and the responsive/coolness of a traditional mattress will love the hybrids. And generally they are the least expensive as well.
    Bottom line, memory foam is now very easy to obtain in a large variety of beds and combined with coils makes for a good side/lighter persons choice. And you dont' need to pay 1000$ either, both will wear out over time.
    So, the lucid wins as my choice, it's price is phenomenal and hopefully the feel with as well.
    I love your pressure testing, however I wish you could have a woman also do the pressure testing, we are half of the sleeping population , :)

    I bought this one last July, and at first it was good but soon I realized it was just to hot for me......Meaning it kept too much body heat around me, and I'm a cold natured person. I plan on selling it and getting the Latex 10inch version, which is alot cooler.

    hi, i know this video is a few years old but i'm deciding between the 10 inch memory foam hybrid and the 10 inch lucid latex hybrid. I sleep mostly on my side and sometimes on my stomach. i'm 5'5, 150lbs and i sometimes have back pain(either from the firm innerspring mattress i've had for years or my mild scoliosis.. probably both). of the two hybrid types, which would you recommend? i'm hoping to buy one this weekend. thanks!

    Has anyone who bought one of the Lucid noticed an odor after it has off gassed? I have tried a bed in a box before and did not like the odor that stayed with it.I have also bought coil beds twice from big box store that smell musty and they never did air out. I am sensitive to odors and expect some off gassing but an odor that stays with a bed forever is unacceptable. I refuse to buy from a store as most have a no return policy so i am hoping to find a bed in a box that i can tolerate,any comments would be appreciated.

    I'm a side sleeper, but i prefer a firmer mattress. I also move around a lot, and sleep warm. Would you suggest the hybrid memory foam or latex? And which thickness?

    • @Sleepopolis
      @Sleepopolis  5 років тому +2

      I would suggest a latex in this situation because it will sleep a bit cooler and allow you to change positions easier. Because you're a side sleeper you want more room for sinkage, so the thicker the better, I would say go with the 12 inch version.

  • @tjoyner6108
    @tjoyner6108 2 роки тому +1

    I read comments on Amazon for this mattress that say it contains fiberglass in its fire-retardent layer. Apparently, if you ever wash the cover, fiberglass will be visible all over your room which causes itchiness and health issues. Such a bummer this mattress was on sale at a really great price.

    i cannot decide between the lucid 10 inch latex hybid and the lucid 10 inch latex foam. have you tried both? would a bed with no springs last longer? there are more reviews on amazon for the latex foam version but oddly less video reviews on youtube on them. most of the reviews on youtube are for the hybrid.

    • @Sleepopolis
      @Sleepopolis  5 років тому

      I've only tried the hybrid. I find that latex hybrids are really bouncy because of the latex/spring combo. You can expect this one to have a bit of a softer feel. It's tough to say whether hybrids or all foam mattresses last longer because there is a wide variance in material quality between brands, but I would expect this hybrid to be a bit more durable.

    • @Sleepopolis
      @Sleepopolis  6 років тому

      Sorry to hear about the pain, depending on what helps with your comfort I would say the memory foam is going to give you more of a feeling of sinking in and being hugged by the mattress where the latex is going to feel like you're more on top of the mattress allow you to adjust position a bit easier with a bit more bounce. Latex generally sleeps a bit cooler too.

    Hi, we recently bought this mattress, the 12 inch version, and I did have a question. It states that the outside cover is made with fiberglass. Is this safe? Some reviews say that fiberglass shavings leak through and get all over the place. I guess I'm more concerned with laying our body on fiberglass and possibly breathing it in. Thank you.

    Hi there. I am looking at this mattress on Amazon as a possible purchase. I am about 240 pounds. I mostly sleep on my back. I have a budget of about $350.00. I know I probably am not going to get a GREAT mattress for that, but anything has to be better than the one I'm on, (i hope). The mattress Im using now is a spring mattress,. It's very old and sinks in the middle as well as slopes to one side. It's killing my back. I think I prefer medium mattress as I enjoy the soft feeling. Do you think this would be a good purchase for me with my budget and weight? If not, can you sugest one to have a look at? Thank you so much for your time and your reviews.
