Memory foam has done a real number on my back. Because when you sleep in one spot you keep on sinking so much so both my Sacroiliac joints are out of my place. Getting out of bed was hell, I felt like i was swallowed. Hybrid 10000%
I agree with memory foam being a disaster. I always sink in way too far and it tightly contours around my body causing numbness. Do you know what kind of mattress sinks in enough for pressure relief but does not contour so tightly? What kind of mattress did you finally figure out?
Exactly my thought. The idea that this guy gets "stuck and can't move" is ridiculous. Sure, you sink in, but unless you're handicaped or very old, you're not getting literally stuck.
@@patrickshelley09 yeah I agree. If you make a video on a subject, the sponsor shouldn't be related to the subject of the video or else it just feels like an ad.

I bought a memory foam topper and as mentioned in this video I got stuck at night waking up every time I tried to move. When you fall into the hole memory its quite difficult to move and this causes me a lot of pain so the next morning I wake feeling like I've just been tortured all night. Also after you sink into the full memory foam mattress, there is a slower additional slower sinking you do as well which is annoying. So I much preferred the hybrid much more.

Lol sorry for the late reply @user-mk9qp9gb8b and @donniev8181 - I have a life. We bought an Emma king hybrid mattress (we're based in the UK) a couple of years ago to sit on our divan and it's been great. Ofcourse due to the cost (£400+ and that was with a £200 discount!) I was dubious at the time and I'm sure like everything else in the world, mattresses have most likely gone up in cost since 2020. But honestly, our hybrid mattress has been amazing - probably one of the greatest purchases we have ever made. From memory I don't think Emma does the hybrid version anymore but we got it at the height of lockdown when my shoulder was in a really bad state from sleeping on our older spring mattress for so long. After sleeping on it I saw an immediate improvement in a week - why didn't we do this before?! Wife thinks our mattress is great despite previously preferring a firmer bed. A year on, negatives that come to mind would be the dip in the memory foam layer but that isn't specific to hybrids and you only see this as you're going into bed (high five to people who make their bed in the morning). Another negative would be the price, at the time we just rationalised it as an 'investment'! Probably worth remembering that you can't just flip the mattress since the hybrid mattresses only have a memory layer on one side. Good luck with your search.

Didn't last worth the money as it feels that it sinks in the middle twisting my body the wrong way for 8 hrs of sleep waking up with all day back pain. It might not be as comfortable becuase most hybrids contain coils and springs, and foam but it's your choose I would personally get a purple 2. But if you want something nice and breathable you can get the hybrid.
Foam sag over time, ok. but in hybrid mattress you have top layers from foam right? So it does sag as well, right? About support, what if hybrid mattress have very soft top layers vs foam with very firm layers, which one will provide more support?
In Denmark Continental beds are the most popular bed type.. now i just ordered a tempur Continental bed with the sensation topper.. Isent a Continental bed kind of a hybrid bed? Pocket spring in the bottom.. regular spring in the middle and a thick memory foam topper
I'm 100kg and it makes my lower back ache now. It started off fine so I think the mattress sags over time and just under a year later, alas outside of the trial period, I'm looking to replace it. I think longevity will be a problem for these mattresses especially if you're heavy. Buy cheap buy twice as they say.

The snug fit and cozy feeling are unmatched. Forget about fancy beds and expensive mattresses-there's something oddly comforting about the simplicity of a cardboard box. Plus, the cost-effectiveness is a major bonus! Who knew that a humble box could bring so much joy and relaxation? 10/10 would recommend trying it at least once in your life! Sweet dreams, box enthusiasts! 🌙💤 #CardboardBoxDreams #BestSleepEver
I have a Serta iComfort all foam memory foam mattress and I can't put it on a standard slat frame because the areas above the slats are harder and you can feel the pressure difference. I was waking up with my back super tight. I put it on the floor and it's much more comfortable. Either way it is too hot, can't wait to ditch this thing.
@@abarzua21able No, I'll never buy another all memory foam mattress, my next mattress will have to have some innersprings. I was at the store recently looking at the Beautyrest Beyond.

No more memory foam for me. I bought a TnN about 3 years ago and it's very uncomfortable. I wake up every day with back pain because I sink in and I only weigh 160 lbs.
Confused ah. Overweight, constantly moving but predominantly Sidesleeper, move around coz im hot sleeper, have neck, shoulder pain due to my old ortho bed n even arm numbness n hand tingling
anything with springs eventually the material between the springs and you wear thin and springs poke through the top and can be tiny daggers that can stab you. so it won't matter if it doesn't sag sooner because you will eventually have a death trap with springs. I will always go with pure memory foam because you can always add things to fix the sagging like a folded up blanket under the mattress in the spot it sags making it like new. avoid hybrids. just not worth the extra money for something that's not really going to last longer.
For hybrid, if the top foam wears like you say, couldnt you just add a foam topper after it wears? Then youd have the long lasting springs and a new foam top and extend the life another couple years?
Hi, this subject is a pain for me. My husband is around 250.00 pounds, may be a little more. living in U.K. Ive heard that most mattresses have a weight limit of 250 pounds. I’ve heard about the titan range but it’s not widely available here but it is for heavier people. Gordon complains about back pain when he gets up and doesn’t sleep well, at all.please could you give me your thoughts. Thankyou in advance x
Stay away from memory foam. It's hot as hell, you'll wake up in the middle of the night sweating. I paid 500 for one, had to get a pillow top to set it on top. I noticed that on weekends when I slept at my girlfriend's house in NY I would sleep like a log while at home I could not get beyond 2:50 AM. You also feel like you stuck in mud, and you feel like you're lying upside down. I would never buy a memory foam again.
Spring mattresses are the cheapest. Memory foam mattresses cost more than spring mattresses. Yet the hybrid is a spring mattress, and a memory foam mattress at the same time, with less memory foam .... and more springs .... so it costs more .... ? I also love the avoidance of the word spring instead choosing to call it a coil. So it's half a cheap mattress with a few inches of memory foam as a topper, yet costs more than the full memory foam mattress. Seems like any reason to raise the price.
Desperate for a new mattress and this research is informative but there is just too much of it! I do feel as if all these mattress sites never review standard innerspring mattresses. It's memory or nothing. Leaning towards tulo firm because I can actually go try one or a hybrid because while I hate the price it sounds like it might be my best option. Going to try the tulo since I have never slept in a foam bed and I need to see if I even like the feel. I hate the idea of sinking in. I used to be a side/stomach sleeper but have evolved into a back. My last innerspring was a Serta and it became uncomfortable within a year, maybe less. My back suffered. So now I'm on an air mattress because I moved and it's time to get a real bed.

@@karine8738 I ended up going with the Nectar. It's a great mattress. Happy medium for couples. I think I need a firmer one though for my lower back so I may return and get the Saatva mattress. Still feeling it out.
I really want a 4” or 5” hybrid (two sided) but they don’t seem to exist 🤷♀️ I just purchased a twin daybed that slides outward to extend into a single platform king but it’s predominantly going to be in “twin mode” therefore the mattresses have to be stacked while not extended… I don’t have a problem with that however the issue is that two 6” mattresses stacked will exceed the frame & may wobble which I don’t want to happen.. any recommendations? @@Sandrinarhonda Is a Sealy pillow top
I put hybrid matres 300 will get it today will see how it goes
I'm 100kg and it makes my lower back ache now. It started off fine so I think the mattress sags over time and just under a year later, alas outside of the trial period, I'm looking to replace it.
I think longevity will be a problem for these mattresses especially if you're heavy.
Buy cheap buy twice as they say.
Thank you for the information, it has helped me to make my decision between Memory Foam and Hybrid Mattress.
OMG, guys, I just had to share my absolute obsession with sleeping in cardboard boxes! 😴📦 It might sound a bit quirky, but let me tell you, it's a game-changer!
Well thats just great, as soon as you said casper sent you the mattress free i just knew the video review would be biased.
Both types are Casper brand. It's just about which type he suggests for different purposes, not a review.
What? He's just talking about two types of beds. It would be biased if he was comparing Casper to other bed companies, but he's not.
@@Annalovesautumn It's not even that both types are Casper brand types. Both types are also just bed types that Casper also happens to offer.
I am getting a Hybrid mattress soon. Looking forward to it!
Yup def going with a hybrid! Thanks. 😊
No problem 👍
I have a Serta iComfort all foam memory foam mattress and I can't put it on a standard slat frame because the areas above the slats are harder and you can feel the pressure difference. I was waking up with my back super tight. I put it on the floor and it's much more comfortable. Either way it is too hot, can't wait to ditch this thing.
How is the memory foam matress? Any good
@@abarzua21able No, I'll never buy another all memory foam mattress, my next mattress will have to have some innersprings. I was at the store recently looking at the Beautyrest Beyond.
Thanks so much. I get completely clear all the information from you to decide :)
Thankful for your review, I got really confused now I choose my mattress thanks to you
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you this helped me so much .
You're welcome!
I'm 6'1 255 pounds, side edge sleeper (I had a king and still unconsciously go to the edge) that overheats. My wife runs heavy too, but sleeps 💤like a stone, she won't move, but I just can't sleep steady, I move too much. What should I get? Hybrid?
Any advice regarding rem-fit mattresses? Are they legit and good mattreses?
Thanks for the clarifications! I'm going for hybrid
Glad I could help!
i hope people realize some are allergic to latex can cause breathing issues and not realize it
or formaldehyde in some can cause serious issues too
can a hybrid be used on a adjustable bed?
thank you .....video is lot more helpful than any other reviews on mattress
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the review. This really helped me figure out what mattress to focus on buying.
Where to buy a mattress with just coils, nothing else on top? That's pretty much what I need for my back. I can add what I want on top later
im looking at replacing my pillowtop mattress
Help I'm sinking inside my mattress and can't come out!
Who thinks he’s still stuck lol
Pocket springs with memory or natural latex , which is good
Queen bed gang right here!!
I need a memory foam and my partner a hybrid... Now what lol
@nastasiya simms 😂😂😂
Get the king that has two long twins together so they can be different from each other.
How do these hybrid mattresses compare with top end ikea, dreams, harveys or bensons for beds mattresses?
Memory foam vs comfort foam ?
if you got osteoarthritis in your back memory foam is the best, you sleep longer whit out pain
I want a memory foam mattress, but i weigh 300lbs. The bed I'm looking at has 5lb memory foam, and the base level is 2.8lb. Will this work?
Too many choices Im gonna try the driveway Ill post a review
I have a back, shoulder injury and it doesn’t help to having a bad mattress. I plan to get a new mattress to help relieve the pain and stiffness I have. I’m leaning towards the hybrid mattress based on this video.
Can we ask what position you sleep in? Also, I would take a look at our Best Mattresses For Back Pain video as well:
ua-cam.com/video/Vpe0MNybiSE/v-deo.html
Seems to me that a hybrid mattress is just a mattress with a 8in memory foam topper.
What type of mattress is better for someone with a lot of joint/arthritis pain?
Is your floor memory form or hybrid?
No more memory foam for me. I bought a TnN about 3 years ago and it's very uncomfortable. I wake up every day with back pain because I sink in and I only weigh 160 lbs.
Confused ah. Overweight, constantly moving but predominantly Sidesleeper, move around coz im hot sleeper, have neck, shoulder pain due to my old ortho bed n even arm numbness n hand tingling
this has got to be one of the most hilarious channel names ever... spatula clarity, windmill clarity, toothpaste clarity. 😂
anything with springs eventually the material between the springs and you wear thin and springs poke through the top and can be tiny daggers that can stab you. so it won't matter if it doesn't sag sooner because you will eventually have a death trap with springs. I will always go with pure memory foam because you can always add things to fix the sagging like a folded up blanket under the mattress in the spot it sags making it like new. avoid hybrids. just not worth the extra money for something that's not really going to last longer.
Finally someone with sense lol
Lies
All foam mattresses are still hot, though. Waking up sweaty is still my biggest gripe about my own memory foam mattress.
For hybrid, if the top foam wears like you say, couldnt you just add a foam topper after it wears? Then youd have the long lasting springs and a new foam top and extend the life another couple years?
Is 50$ ok for twin size foam ?
Hi, this subject is a pain for me. My husband is around 250.00 pounds, may be a little more. living in U.K. Ive heard that most mattresses have a weight limit of 250 pounds. I’ve heard about the titan range but it’s not widely available here but it is for heavier people. Gordon complains about back pain when he gets up and doesn’t sleep well, at all.please could you give me your thoughts. Thankyou in advance x
I have a hybrid and it weighs a ton
So what should you get if youre a side/hot sleeper since mem foam is better for side and hybrid is better for hot?
Stay away from memory foam. It's hot as hell, you'll wake up in the middle of the night sweating. I paid 500 for one, had to get a pillow top to set it on top. I noticed that on weekends when I slept at my girlfriend's house in NY I would sleep like a log while at home I could not get beyond 2:50 AM. You also feel like you stuck in mud, and you feel like you're lying upside down. I would never buy a memory foam again.
How tall are you and how much do you weigh?
Maybe your girlfriend is making you sleep well?
Memory foam is the worst shit you can sleep on
So ,since i have erniatic disk and back pain Is Better the Memory foam mattress
for me ?
I'm about 185 lbs. (84.2 kilos). Are hybrids good for people my weight?
Spring mattresses are the cheapest.
Memory foam mattresses cost more than spring mattresses.
Yet the hybrid is a spring mattress, and a memory foam mattress at the same time, with less memory foam .... and more springs .... so it costs more .... ?
I also love the avoidance of the word spring instead choosing to call it a coil. So it's half a cheap mattress with a few inches of memory foam as a topper, yet costs more than the full memory foam mattress.
Seems like any reason to raise the price.
Memory foam isn't the typical polyurethane material found in sofas. The clip shown at 0:43 is NOT memory foam.
It's probably the regular Casper which is their 'airscape' foam on top of actual memory foam. So yeah, I guess you're kinda right?
Always sleep great on my water bed.
So now I'm on an air mattress because I moved and it's time to get a real bed.
the hardest decision in my life man,,, i honestly have never been more confused ,,, i think i need the sink in sensation becuase im a light person so it wouldnt be that bothersome,,,rfgrfr3ewf
Same. I've been watching mattress videos all day. I still don't know what to do. lol
😂😂
@@gloribeltolentino6389 same here... You chose one ?
@@karine8738 I ended up going with the Nectar. It's a great mattress. Happy medium for couples. I think I need a firmer one though for my lower back so I may return and get the Saatva mattress. Still feeling it out.
@@gloribeltolentino6389 thanks 👍
Where can I get that bed frame
There is no major difference. If you had a blind test no one could tell which one was memory foam and whitch are hybrids.
Great comparison! What would you recommend a side sleeper with a torn hip labrum for under 600?
Awesome vid! Thank you so much on the insight!
Glad it was helpful!
Hybrid matters is not for making love it is always tear a part
Thanks, really useful review.
Glad it was helpful!
What's your thoughts on Mlily beds
I really want a 4” or 5” hybrid (two sided) but they don’t seem to exist 🤷♀️
I just purchased a twin daybed that slides outward to extend into a single platform king but it’s predominantly going to be in “twin mode” therefore the mattresses have to be stacked while not extended… I don’t have a problem with that however the issue is that two 6” mattresses stacked will exceed the frame & may wobble which I don’t want to happen.. any recommendations?
Please & Thank You!
Hybrid feels hard as a rock. Side sleeper , 130 lbs.
Which is better for bucking
Which one is better for laying pipe?
