I've been using a high sensitivity since the beginning on PS2 and any other game. Personally I like to go for juking targets just BEFORE they move, you can usually get a feel for their pattern and get them when they turn, since they are momentarily stationary relative to you at the point.
I enjoy the game mechanics and guide videos but not so much the ones about the community, sure they can be informative but most of it I just feel is Cyriouses opinion about something I've experienced.
I've trained myself with very high sensitivity sniping. And, as a resukt of being limited to a controller (ps4) I've become very good with what i call snap shooting. I swing my scope across the area where i want to shoot, and pull the trigger when i think its good. I got 90% accuracy with this way out to a good ~200 meters. Past that, i can comfortably snipe peoperly.
ill use the Blackhand handgun, works good on lightassult. from 50 too 100 meter +2 bullers per headshoot. but then after 100+ making headhost can get hard so Count as 3 to 4 bullets. i do manged to do it with 2 bullets if im straight above them.
Cyrious, I know how to snipe, but you making a video to show you care is just, thanks dude. I main the Infiltrator, and my favorite sniper is the Railjack. Thank you for this Infiltrator Content, and keep up the good work. 11k! You are doing so good. Edit: Just realized you are sniped LOTC, my outfit. xD
You're probably going to think I'm dumb but I've been sniping at 200-600m away camping in the mountains northwest of TI Alloys. Not getting a ton of kills but the psychological torture is hilarious and well worth it especially when it's an NC and TR fight and I'm playing as the lone VS sniper in between them. At that distance, people just have no idea where I'm shooting from.
I've had a lot of fun with a suppressed daimyo. I like directives, so not using the tsar. Since the main issue when equipping a suppressor is projectile drop, the faster refire time of the daimyo has given me many kills that would otherwise simply run off. I did start off not using the suppressor, but quickly have come to depend on it because of the extra placement options it gives. I've sat almost right next to enemy armor and shot at their infantry and noone noticed.
Been actually training myself with a Semi-Auto rifle, the stock TR one to be exact. Mainly to get into the mindset of "I shot twice, better move somewhere else now." (Odd yes, but...well I only got two rifles.) Though I love the M77-B...just getting a target at max range with a slower bullet seems more of an insult to the face....
Speak for your self. I love the 12x. It’s so much fun popping off heads in Esimer all the way from Indar with an EM4 Longshot. It’s a little hard to get heads off moving targets, but it can be done. Your “long range” sniping is far to close, traditional sure, your perched on a high spot, but you can do the same thing with a long range battle rifle from that distance
I started playing like 2 years ago, of course a few months at a time, but lately i've been playing again during Quarantine and i never realized how satisfying playing Infiltrator is,like i tried Warzone's Rumble mode and that shite wasn't satisfying since i kept getting headshots, sniping was TOO easy, Planetside 2 made me feel like i actually had to aim but also be quick to escape and stuff like there was tactics in it! (And i was playing Warzone with a controller, that's how easy sniping was)
I really like sniping in this game, Cyrious. It's fun and I mainly play Infiltrator, but usually I take a Flash with me to get to places because I lag when I fly long distances, unless it's a lower pop battle. (1-12, 12-24, and sometimes 24-48) Should I get the Fury for my Flash for when I need to do a bit of damage to armour that gets to close, or should I get the Ejection seat for my Reaver? (I should also mention that I kinda know how to fly, but I'm better at flying than shooting.)
Are you going to do more of these advanced training videos? I would really like to have some advice on vehicles like the Harasser, ESF and Sunderer (yes I feel like I do).
I´ve been using Rams. 50 and it has been super fun but still struggeling with kills.. Mostly headshots, by using 8x zoom all the time, sometimes using 12x when I want a longer and safer distance if there is an insane hotspot for miles. Though I would like to know, how did you add that red dot there? Seems pretty helpful especially in dark times.
I think one attachment that long range snipers (and I think even CQC) should avoid is suppressor. Now I use it for fun, but for actual sniper is a nightmare
Cool intro. One thing that's missing from this video is teamplay aspect. Snipers are often considered useless to the team, and the way you suggest to "traditionally" snipe in this video certainly doesn't change that. Sure you'll get some easy streak sniping a biolab pad, but that's unlikely to have any impact on the battle itself. Would be nice to see some tips for being more relevant.
what do you mean? him killing people trying to enter the bio lab means that the other faction will have less players inside fighting for the base, which will make his faction outnumber the other and increase the chances of winning the battle. He might be up there by himself, but that's also a pure form of teamplay...
Daniel Donalson Even when not in a squad playing as a cqc sniper I love sitting on an ammo pack and spamming darts. It helps me pick my targets easier and helps my team know where the enemy will be focusing their counter push. Win win
close range bolt sniper on tech plant holds are pretty iuseful. Up on the balcony they can cover the point and the big gun aswell as the sideways where some LAs might come up on the point.
Well honestly having snipers, even bad ones around put something in play that people dont really think about. Fear of lanes. You dont know if a sniper is watching that lane so it either makes you fear to use the lane altogether or put a body shot in them on their way to a fight to make them a (1. One shot for another person 2. A problem for a medic to put his/her gun away 3. Make them panic and retreat) snipers arent all about kills they are a very psychological class.
What are your thoughts on The Vanu "Ghost" Sniper Rifle. It's the only one I use for a reason. Just used to it and I perform well with it I was just on my Vanu Infil. I normally play Light assault but the Battleflow was like 100v100 and LA in that kind of hell only goes so far. SOOOOoooo I pulled out my Infiltrator and Equipped my handy dandy Ghost Sniper Rifle. Evergone is different as I randomly bought the Ghost months ago and never used anything else. For the life of me I just pulled 20 Kills In hectic hell headshots sideways, vertical! I finally got scoped out from a NC Infil sitting up in a tree. I came back Popped off my Radar Gun thingy into the tree line, cloaked and ran along parrarel to the tree line opposite of where i shot my radar thing. This started the greatest Killstreak I have had. I was on point today. I think the key thing with being decent at sniping and being Invisible almost always is muscle memory on the spot in any situation and learning that with aiming ahead of the target wherever they are running away. Running parralel to you from far away (difficult one) Jumpjetters ( funny) I don't think I'm a great sniper. But I do think I use the ghost very well
Just stumbled to this video, looked for others like it and saw heavy assault and max is missing. When will that be? Just curious while watching your other vids while waiting for the last 2 of the classes to upload
I'm 3/5 for it, After the Emporer its the .45 then the TX1. Can you do a indepth video about TR Sidearms and your experiences with them? I love TR's Sidearms, TX2 "Spanish Inquisition"( er ) , Nobody expect you to pull a 143 damage mini carbine out w/ 30 Bullets. Oh yea, I want the Arx Pistol so i can kill someone and say, 'Your FIRED !" Was it worth it? Your thoughts? Do you know if the Kraken's Texture is glitched, because on PS4 Its Opaque as hell
Don't have the Kraken, so not sure on that. Would love to do an in-depth guide on the pistols. Not sure when I can get to it, but will keep it in mind.
Also, the president is actually pretty nice. Its a long range repeater that doesn't suffer from being supressed. Lower mag size though which is a good trade off. Gotta hit your shots.
Only problem is, you need a decent rifle, which the game at the beginning does not give you. Many times, i have gotten a headshot, only to watch them turn towards me and blast me.
Hey Cyrious, I just started playing Planetside 2 (PS4) and I'm loving these videos. Btw, will you ever make a Heavy Assault advanced training guide? Keep it up man.
You never mentioned anything about quick scoping in Cqc situations with the long range snipers. Pretty helpful if you can pull it off to at least get a body shot before u pull out your sidearm. Dunno if anyones already mentioned it here.. seems important
I'm usually one of those people who actively hunt those lone flankers down. Not with light assault but through counter-snipe/infil. If I see someone getting killed even once or a sniper rifle's sound + tracer flew right past, I am not going to wait for my luck but deal with it straight away lol. Same with stalker infils/light assaults/enemy beacon at e.g tower top. I don't know why people just ignore it thinking everything will be fine..
ive had people do that to me and then i counter snipe them a bunch of times untill they get mad enough to pull smg infiltrator and rush my position. Viable strategy though. Just make sure you are either better or as good as the sniper you are trying to counter
Legit tho just grab your long range (Mercy for TR and Blueshift if VS) options if not NC and act as a mobile infantry hugging cover and getting reps from dedicated or random engineers. If NC just apply same principles but consider adding slugs to your Mattocks ('long range' option for them) and you will be a MAX suit with reach and decent damage . Juke rockets and c4 as much as possible then just eliminate infantry when they are within 20 metres for low enough ttk.
Hey! I'm sure you get asked this a million times but how do you put a center dot on your screen and what are the popups with 7-headshot kill streak etc? Also keep up the great work, your vids are great!
Wish they would make silencer attachments more realistic... In realife adding a silencer to your gun dosnt decrease its bullet velocity, the longer barrel sorta increases the bullets speed rather. Wish they would implement this...
Unfortunately its more about having tradeoffs. Being silenced is very powerful. If it was more powerful and higher bullet velocity, it just would have no down sides.
Hello. Whenever I try to open PS2 on my brand new PC i get the 4503 error. I have tried every method and have even deleted the multiple processes in the task manager that start PS2. The launcher simply won't connect. Can anyone help?(I'm a PS4 veteran)
i have only ever played nc #loyal ummm so are the weapons same for all factions? i am pretty sure not so as they are not same can you give tutorials for stuff like this on different factions? if possible i wanna get gud at sniping being a nc
Cyrious Gaming ahhh i see where tour coming from i am a broke high school student myself lol great video though i tried the bio lab perch up camping thing and got quite a few kills and am steadily getting good at sniping
I wonder why you use Catlike and Deep Operative when sniping. I only use it when having smg's or Stalker. When sniping i use Target Focus and Safefall/Sensor Shield/Battle Hardened for cqc sniping. I find Safefall more useful all around as a secondary implant for infils.
When CQC sniping my goal is to strike fast, from unknown position and then fade into the shadows. Catlike and Deep operative allow me to do that. There is no scope sway on low zoom scopes like the 3.4x, so the main feature of target focus is voided by CQC, that is the hold breath time. Safefall and sensor shield are certainly good options. I don't use battle hardened, because you are shooting while underfire you are already out of position. With CQC sniping 99% of the time I am shooting I am not under fire.
I wish I had this video when I was learning how to snip in planetside. Only reason I learned sniping so I can counter snipe those infils when I was low BR
Why didn't you mention any empire-specific semi-auto sniper and scout rifles?.. Not a single word about Phantom\Impetus\KSR, not any single word about scout and battle rifles like Nyx\HSR\Shadow or Eidolon\Warden\AMR? Personally I have an opposite problem that you've described: I'm quite "fine" at long-range and mid-range sniping with both bolt-action and semi-auto sniper and scout rifles, but completely suck with any full-auto weapons. When I switch from sniping to CQC, my KDR drops from 3-5 to 0.2-0.7. with any automatic weapon: SMG, Carbines, LMGs.
Mostly because the video would have been 2 hours long if I covered all of the Scout rifles and battle rifles as well. Sniping for me really boils down to 1 hit Headhot killing. The semi auto "Sniper Rifles" are really a scout rifle to me. Then the scout rifles and battle rifles are a different style of play than going for the one hit head-shots. Will try to get to those videos in the future.
I have some new Video ideas for you Cyrious Gaming ! What about making special builds that all follow a little background for a.e roleplaying or other things ! A couple of names that could inspire you:Spec Ops, Farsight, Lumine Assassin, The Lonewolf, Flyby, Steelhorse, Syke, C-Fire,The Freerunner, The Pyromaster, Umbrella, NS Operative, Havoc, Mapper, Trapper, Mr.Amaterasu, Nomad, The Old, Spots, Fixer,Wrench,Heartbeat,Reaper and a lot more (if you need names ask for it if youre realy doing this...)
What is"sniper" distance? I have been at a distance with a 7x scope to where I can barely see their head. I get two shot from someone with machine guns or sniper guns before mine even reloads... Even pistols, yes pistols. One shot power means nothing in this game compared to just spamming off bullets as fast as you can and 2 shot people.
I consider myself a tr main ( not for pride , i just like the weapons and looks of the tr faction more than the others ) but god damn i would love if they added a weapon similar to the nc railjack to the tr infiltrator weaponry . That freaking sniper suited me so damn well that it was the only reason i really hesitated swaping to tr from nc (that and the camera driven rocket launcher ) .
And i thought i was good at sniping... You know what? Ill stick at being an armor specialist and you keep the sniping. You are way better than me at this XD. I cannot hit for the head with moving targets...
1:21 "Notice that I haven't even unlocked the 12x scope" I kinda feel bad now, I've always used that scope. It's probably the one I used the most, as I like having a lot of zoom and I like being very far from my targets. But yeah, it makes hitting moving targets way harder, that's true.
I actually used the default VA39 Spectre of the VS. It was at this swamp facility location at night and I would flank the enemy with the gun and "snipe" them at CQB. 3 shots and they are done. I also had a bunch of instances at that time where other infiltrators turn invisible but I noticed the blurred air quicker and went out of cloak immediately to attack them. Not one of those instances I even took a scratch. I can't really quick-scope in games nor am I any good with projectile weapons so "normal" sniping isn't really my thing. And I suck at trying to get headshots. So that's why I went CQB with a DMR. Oh, and I forgot, I hipfired most of the time.
Do you have a video or a comment anywhere that describes what you're using for that reticle overlay? I'm assuming it's just something via Discord (I recall another PS2 UA-camr using something like that), but I'd be curious what you've got. I would love to set that up on my system. Nice video as always! :D
Cyrious should just code a macro for putting a heart on each comment in his comments section. Would totally save him a lot of time. (Bet you do it to get us back on the vid with that notification and net some extra seconds of viewing time >.> )

Cyrious, I know how to snipe, but you making a video to show you care is just, thanks dude. I main the Infiltrator, and my favorite sniper is the Railjack. Thank you for this Infiltrator Content, and keep up the good work. 11k! You are doing so good.
Edit: Just realized you are sniped LOTC, my outfit. xD
Scroffel5 Railjack is easily the sexiest and most badass sniper in the game.
Ugh... the friggin' Railjack
Any tips for completing the leadership directive? Mainly the two platoon ones
Ooo man. Just lead open platoons all I can say, full platoons are better. Don't think about doing directives, just lead public platoons.
Tranquility is a semi-auto rifle that has 6x zoom with night vision!! And has silencer included without reducing your damage.
Been actually training myself with a Semi-Auto rifle, the stock TR one to be exact. Mainly to get into the mindset of "I shot twice, better move somewhere else now." (Odd yes, but...well I only got two rifles.) Though I love the M77-B...just getting a target at max range with a slower bullet seems more of an insult to the face....
loved it! there are few good channels still promoting the game, good job!.
Nice series man! Playing against top players can be frustrating so these videos give us noobs a better fight
All Hail and Glory for our glorious Vetreans!!
(And i was playing Warzone with a controller, that's how easy sniping was)
Great piece. I miss playing.
I noted you had AMMO PRINTER - this is a must if you plan to camp with sniper - its part of my loadout - good vid.
11:43 - wepatoire?
I really like sniping in this game, Cyrious. It's fun and I mainly play Infiltrator, but usually I take a Flash with me to get to places because I lag when I fly long distances, unless it's a lower pop battle. (1-12, 12-24, and sometimes 24-48) Should I get the Fury for my Flash for when I need to do a bit of damage to armour that gets to close, or should I get the Ejection seat for my Reaver? (I should also mention that I kinda know how to fly, but I'm better at flying than shooting.)
Fury flash is extremely deadly in its current state. I use the ejection seat for my ESF much more often for getting around the map quickly.
Are you going to do more of these advanced training videos? I would really like to have some advice on vehicles like the Harasser, ESF and Sunderer (yes I feel like I do).
Yes more on the way.
Yep, bonus check on the way. :D
Cyrious you should stream
Actually. Just bought a new rig. Old one is now streaming setup. Bought two capture cards. Things are in the works. Stay tuned. :)
Cyrious Gaming great
This is great news
@cyrious what is that red dot on your screen? can i find it in-game?
You need the recursion stat tracker, you can search for that along with my name, and you need to select beta participation.
I prefer the valk as my personal droppod. It costs less nanites
Was waiting for you to make another video
I´ve been using Rams. 50 and it has been super fun but still struggeling with kills.. Mostly headshots, by using 8x zoom all the time, sometimes using 12x when I want a longer and safer distance if there is an insane hotspot for miles. Though I would like to know, how did you add that red dot there? Seems pretty helpful especially in dark times.
Check out one of my recent videos on recursion stat tracker.
For console, would you say higher or lower sensitivity is better for sniping?
Eeek sorry I am not a console expert man. I could not tell you there.
In general I tend to perform better on console with high sensitivity.
Middle high scope sensitivity and lower hipfire accuracy... check this out: ua-cam.com/video/B-DW4l8HZrE/v-deo.html
My two favourite classes are light assault and infiltrator, because they are both recon classes.
Great video! , I would love if you make a prowler tutorial next!
Tanking guides would be neat!
Its on the todo list!
Good idea. The CQC sniper has TONS of potential for team-play absolutely. Will try to touch on that on a team oriented video in the future.
what do you mean? him killing people trying to enter the bio lab means that the other faction will have less players inside fighting for the base, which will make his faction outnumber the other and increase the chances of winning the battle. He might be up there by himself, but that's also a pure form of teamplay...
Daniel Donalson
Even when not in a squad playing as a cqc sniper I love sitting on an ammo pack and spamming darts.
Just used to it and I perform well with it
I was just on my Vanu Infil.
Running parralel to you from far away (difficult one) Jumpjetters ( funny)
I don't think I'm a great sniper. But I do think I use the ghost very well
I now sing the intro song when i get up from the pc to refill my coffee or Gtea. Friggen damn catchy song
Just stumbled to this video, looked for others like it and saw heavy assault and max is missing. When will that be? Just curious while watching your other vids while waiting for the last 2 of the classes to upload
Heavy assault is long overdue, soon hopefully.
Hey man do you have tips for ESF and For Main battle tanks
does that ns semi auto sniper help with the sniping directive? i wana get that bighorn :P
No, that one is for the NSX directive only.
Will there ever be a planet side 2 PS4 update
I love your videos! PlanetSide 2 rules!
Thanks man!
Cyrious Gaming No problem! I always SMACK THAT LIKE BUTTON!
How do u get that little red dot on your reticle while in hipfire?
Through Recursion stat tracker. Link is in the description of my videos. Will try to do a guide on setting it up in the future.
where is the recursion folder?
Do you think that PS4 should have the option to play cross platform with PC to help with some population issues or is there to big a performance gap?
Broussard- btr no just no
No matter how strong you are in PS4, you are gonna get reckt when you play against PC players
Kage thank u the ps4 can only do so much
It wont be balanced
There are already enough ps4 players complaining about mkb players on ps4.
Oops, some one covered my play style :D
Mostly good advices. Thanks for video! :)
Cyrious, how did you get the red dot in the centre of the screen?
From Recursion Stat Tracker, will get a video out explaining it.
Got that Arx Pistol finnaly? GG, Thats my next Arx, got the Kraken because I was closer.
Yep, Got it!
Oh yea, I want the Arx Pistol so i can kill someone and say, 'Your FIRED !"
Was it worth it? Your thoughts?
Do you know if the Kraken's Texture is glitched, because on PS4 Its Opaque as hell
Don't have the Kraken, so not sure on that.
Would love to do an in-depth guide on the pistols. Not sure when I can get to it, but will keep it in mind.
Also, the president is actually pretty nice. Its a long range repeater that doesn't suffer from being supressed. Lower mag size though which is a good trade off. Gotta hit your shots.
Yo that FEFA Foigling dude in the first part of your video is a friend of mine XD Nice to see my outfit on one of your vids man :P
Only problem is, you need a decent rifle, which the game at the beginning does not give you. Many times, i have gotten a headshot, only to watch them turn towards me and blast me.
Is it just me or did that guy die from a shoulder wound 0:20?
Hey Cyrious, I just started playing Planetside 2 (PS4) and I'm loving these videos. Btw, will you ever make a Heavy Assault advanced training guide?
Keep it up man.
Yes there will be a heavy assault guide!
You never mentioned anything about quick scoping in Cqc situations with the long range snipers. Pretty helpful if you can pull it off to at least get a body shot before u pull out your sidearm. Dunno if anyones already mentioned it here.. seems important
That is true, great skill if you get caught close up.
This is excellent, thanks
Do max advance training
Throw 50$ into weapons and boosts, boom, you're a pro MAX player.
Also you're officially MLG then
Legit tho just grab your long range (Mercy for TR and Blueshift if VS) options if not NC and act as a mobile infantry hugging cover and getting reps from dedicated or random engineers. If NC just apply same principles but consider adding slugs to your Mattocks ('long range' option for them) and you will be a MAX suit with reach and decent damage . Juke rockets and c4 as much as possible then just eliminate infantry when they are within 20 metres for low enough ttk.
W + M1
Step 1: Work with a squad. Even the best max will go down without repair.
YEEEEESSSS, this vid. make my day. TY SIR
Love you too!
rushing with cqc sr is a good training too
I think slow sensitivity is mistake. For me I have to have high sensitivity in order to do well.
Hey! I'm sure you get asked this a million times but how do you put a center dot on your screen and what are the popups with 7-headshot kill streak etc?
Also keep up the great work, your vids are great!
Thanks I will keep it up! I will get a tutorial out on setting up the crosshair overlay for recursion.
recursion stat tracker is what you are looking for.
Awesome! Thanks
I see..
Hello. Whenever I try to open PS2 on my brand new PC i get the 4503 error. I have tried every method and have even deleted the multiple processes in the task manager that start PS2. The launcher simply won't connect. Can anyone help?(I'm a PS4 veteran)
Can only direct you to customer support, I am not familiar with this.
Wait...have You been playing ps4 on the biolab sniping clips? That looks a lot like ps4 style gameplay
Nah, all PC.
@@CMDRCyrious oh ok, thanks for replying so quick
i have only ever played nc
#loyal
ummm so are the weapons same for all factions?
i am pretty sure not
so as they are not same can you give tutorials for stuff like this on different factions?
if possible
i wanna get gud at sniping being a nc
The weapons are pretty similar, I would like to do more multi faction stuff, I just can't afford all the weapons.
Cyrious Gaming ahhh i see where tour coming from
i am a broke high school student myself lol
great video though
i tried the bio lab perch up camping thing and got quite a few kills and am steadily getting good at sniping
I've never understood the point of scout rifles
How do you get your map icon to not be an arrow?
not sure on that one.
me neither, I can't seem to find that option, 1k+ hours and I have no idea
This is one of the first fps games where you can properly snipe
Oh hey there's Connery
I use 12x but only on the rail jack.
Love the vids bro
Thanks man!
Sounds like a lot of fun will try to get to this.
Hey do you think you could do a video like this on knifing?
Yeah man, I will try to get to a video on knifing.
Cyrious Gaming thanks. I'm probably way too far into that function than I should be :).
MrAirtaz not if you headshot them first
Dodge, boi. Or you misunderstood where they shot you from.
Try ADAD, or if they are really spraying dakka and there’s no cover, do the dance.
The camera guided rocket is trash. It was good when you posted but awful now
do shots have bullet drop as well or strictly travel time?
Orin Prindle shots have bullet drop. (Except for some Vanu weapons like the phaseshift)
They do have bullet drop. A higher powered sniper rifle like the RAMS .50 has very little. The Daimyo has a lot more bullet drop.
And i thought i was good at sniping... You know what? Ill stick at being an armor specialist and you keep the sniping. You are way better than me at this XD. I cannot hit for the head with moving targets...
1:21 "Notice that I haven't even unlocked the 12x scope"
I kinda feel bad now, I've always used that scope. It's probably the one I used the most, as I like having a lot of zoom and I like being very far from my targets.
But yeah, it makes hitting moving targets way harder, that's true.
And 12x certainly does have its place. But yeah, its just means you are really only picking off stationary stuff.
Call me crazy or legend but I arx my LA-80 doing CQC with 12x on
What's thesong for his intro?
Found it: PlanetSide 2 - Extra 4
Yep!
Pissed off of the deathcam.... With ma long range sniper...
Yup the whole biolab thing used to be so fun and actually helped win fights for me. But now you just get found off one kill lol.
You had problems with the hitboxes of the head aswell?
I have not run into problems there.
In my videos I have a link for Recursion. I use Recursion with a mod that adds a crosshair overlay.
Cyrious Gaming gotcha, thanks!
Cyrious should just code a macro for putting a heart on each comment in his comments section. Would totally save him a lot of time.
(Bet you do it to get us back on the vid with that notification and net some extra seconds of viewing time >.> )
Do it because I appreciate everyone that is willing to contribute to the discussion. :)
give this man more subs!
is that a mod that's showing multikills and headshots?
Yes search Cyrious Recursion Tutorial
