Two of the best pieces of advice I can ever off in regards to "Getting gud" is to spend some quality time on VR at the range and to observe your enemy as you fight them. Take the time to practice firing at static targets to learn your weapon and practice recoil control and bursting, you can also safely practice ADADing and various tactics with this like knifing as you switch to your sidearm. When I was still getting myself togeather I found that warming up while in queue on the range tended to greatly improve my performance on the field, and over time I kept getting better the more I did it. As well as that observing your opponent to learn from them can be a great way to pick up on some of the tactics in this. Watch their movments, see what gun and what implants their using, this is ESPECIALLY helpful now that they added a killcam. Also one other thing that I remembered while typing this and a very helpful piece of advice I learned from someone. If you look at those yellow lines at 4:50, if you aim JUST above those that is head height, so using those as a bit of a tool in buildings that have them can be exceptionally helpful for building muscle memory as can VR. That's what a lot of this game is I've found: Building good muscle memory.
Amazing, you're still uploading??? Most of your videos I've seen are years old... I only started played PS2 about two weeks ago, thank you for everything man, you've helped me stop going 7 and 30 and to being able to hold my own, you've taught me how to use vehicles, use a Maxx, how to switch squads, build bases, and so much more for my gunplay, thank you again sir, just so you know your help is forever appreciated.
I have been playing this game for roughly 3 years now. My 1st year and a half I struggled something awful. I could flick to targets but couldn’t track them. I couldn’t win 1v1’s. So always had to avoid them. Now, by no means am I the number one any leaderboard…. BUT!! I am now in the top 60 in all searches in my outfit with more than 5,000+ players. I have achieved this by my struggles as a player. I never quit, and never accepted the “I’m never gonna be good enough for this game” feeling. I kept at it and keep at it. Now, from where I was and from where I am now. I feel I am more competitive in battles. I have so much to learn about this game. You never stop learning at this game or in anything in life. Now, I am scoring those head shots on light assaults in motion at range. I am winning (and losing) 1v1’s. I no longer run from them but seek them. Instead of getting mad or upset. Take a step back. Ask yourself why did I die? Why did I round that corner knowing it was being held. Use your way point marker to “mark the front line of battles” so you know where not to run in blind. Work things you know you have control over. Aiming, tracking, battle line perimeters, stay moving, learn when to engage and when when not to. Learn the best time Persue and when to escape. Pick your battles where and when you can. Never take on a squad that you notice works well together, because they are all on coms talking and communicating. Get in the fight, but not in the battle, stay on the outskirts of know battle lines and pick off loner’s or stragglers.
I play on ultra (technically ultra + with the hidden settings) and while yes, I have a lot more distracting particles, I have the consistency part down. Over the years playing I have gotten used to much of it I feel. At least enough so that I don't mind it and do well. Really though, this is great advice. I love getting advice about something that I normally would just take for granted, or not even think about at all.
there's like a special INI file or Driver enhancements going around that pumps Particles to max crispness but keeps moving MODELS on LOW and stops them from blurring into the tileset like there was Mayonaise all over your visor...
Holy shit, thank you for this... This one video took me from a constant 0.3 to a 2.0 (sometimes better!) over only a weekend of play and has been consistent for another week now. I went from losing basically every single encounter, to being able to stand a chance and sometimes even excel. I've legitimately always thought that I had problems with my eyes, because I just couldnt see things others so clearly could. Because obviously, a problem I'm having that no one else is is obviously a problem with me, right? Well apparently I'm the only one of my friends who ran the game on ultra, and though still not as good as them by large, I've closed the gap by a staggering amount that's improved my capabilities in nearly every meaningful way, from acquisition, accuracy to general awareness making me an asset rather than just a distraction for the enemy and human shield. Simply put, I had no idea that the difference was this big because I've always just played on the highest settings, and had no clue it added so much clutter and garbage on the screen. So again, thank you for making this and pointing it out. I've asked for a lot of advice over the years, but nobody has pointed this out and it's made a huge difference.
For those interested, you can actually bug the game to "have" the infravision sight. If you aim with a infravision scope and you stop holding the aim button just before the scoping animation move to your "eye" it will bug out and leave the vision of the scope in your game, then go change it to reflex sight and voila.
Good video. When I first started playing, I decided my biggest problem was noticing people in time. The 1x night vision optic is my go-to right now, and It has helped a ton. I wasn't aware there was a slower sighting time associated with that option, but I have usually been able to make it work. And I'm now getting to the point where I can pick people out faster without NV.
Even over a year and a half in I still get better. And then I get worse. And then one day I'm kicking ass. Then somehow next day I'm sucking. Taking in account battleflow and battle odds. Moving always. Getting lucky in an already lucky situation. I'm happy to see this kind of content. In the past I watched something similar and it Turns out all it took for me to go from spud to potato was one little thing that no one ever mentioned in a video. How I rest my damn arm on my gaming table. I leaned forward rested over half of my arm on the table arm almost extended fully out. I was comfortable. Then dropped my dps to 500. In game sensitivity to 85to95. World of difference. 1000 little things that could be an issue to your performance. Ppl think the longer you play Planetside 2 the better you get. Definitely not true. I'm ok. My issue now is I got addicted to base building with my ant. And now I spent like 10000 daybreak cash on Construction. Allow me more than 3 walls please DB games. Damn
helped me out A TON im able to consistantly aim for the head now for the past hour ive been mopping cuz i can actually see and after i flawlessly aim at someones head i stop and go "did... did i just do that??" thx a ton earned my sub
Thanks for the great content. I struggle with this games obsession on headshots; i understand it for precision/sniper shots, but every gun and every encounter at any range must be focused on headshots. This video helps to think through getting better at that. Also that TR gun you’re using at the end has almost converted me to switch over completely, wow.
After many hours of tweaking my settings I think I've hit on a setup which keeps the game looking decent while also eliminating most visual clutter that I'm happy with
@Zoa Basically, everything on the highest, except: "Graphics" on Medium "Effects" on Low "Flora" on Low Particles in the only tricky one, it creates some effects which can obscure vision, but turning it down makes your tracers very difficult to see, so this one is up to you. Also, turning down Lighting or Shadows a notch or two gives a significant performance boost if that's an issue for you. But these can give tactical advantages (seeing people's shadow before seeing their body for example) and also contribute a great deal to visual quality so I keep them as I as I can while still having acceptable performance. As long as you have enough RAM, most of the other settings shouldn't really impact performance much. I have all the post processing on except motion blur which I personally can't stand. This is just what works for my PC, can't say it will treat you well necessarily but maybe it will help.
At this point I'm pretty sure I have some mental impairment because particle effects and other visual distractions really break my ability to keep on an infantry target. I have to put flash suppressors (or suppressors if there are no FPs) on all my guns because the muzzle flash adds noticeably more effort to tracking a target. Wiggly ADAD crouching, shields breaking, explosions and screen shake, after 90 minutes I'm just exhausted for the evening.
Once I started aiming for the head and "getting good" I started getting a lot more kills. But really, aiming for the head helped me a lot. Lovin' infiltrator and heavy assault.
Your point about reducing the amount of info your brain has to handle as well as making it easier to pick up the enemies head is why I use the infrasvision implant on all builds on all classes.
*Remembers the first time firing a Vanu Sovereignty gun* Yeah...the one thing I do have to say while lasers are fun and all...sometimes for some reason I just end up temporarily blinding myself with the muzzle flash of my own gun. It was a really weird occurrence but I just simply worked with it most of the time.
@@jahrazzjahrazz8858 oof yea that can definatly hurt your awareness on whats going on in the sidelines but still DPS for close quarters is pretty nice. Though so far I prefer using the Quasar or Blueshift as my anti infantry.

Correction, true potato mode means you change resolution scale. At which point due to lowest form of anti aliasing (I will talk more on why you need it) it becomes really hard to discern characters from the ground. The models blend so well. That it's very hard for me to find someone first before they find me. Sadly I rely on my sense of hearing for that. Now why would you want anti aliasing like fxaa if you are in potato. Imo, it's much harder to look at the game when everything is just pixelated. Anti aliasing smoothing out the pixels makes it much more smoother. Turns it into a blurry mess but atleast it's not a pixelated mess, because then small movement becomes harder to notice.
This really helped me alot and reminded me of other games where this is very useful as well. Thanks, Cryrious. Hopefully this will help me in CoD MW as well as PS2.
It would be super helpful to mention which settings in particular are visually cluttering. I guess having no flora, low lighting, but particles may be helpful to keep the track of shots, shadows off (lol), what about overall quality? I've found big changes there after restarting game, medium and lower usually looks like smeared faeces. Any help here please?
I'm colorblind, and playing against VS as NC is near impossible for me to do without occasionally shooting at my team. Do you have any tips that could help me differentiate between friendlies and enemies in hectic gunfights?
Maybe it's a state of constant paranoia but I get that point about low gaphics allowing for quicker reactive input while still playing on higher settings because I always expect to see opponents in standard layouts (like hallways or usual base battle flows). It's still a very valid point though that under bizzare scenarios it will be easier to pick up opponents with lower graphics so people who are concerned should try it for that.
My problem is usually adjusting my aim to moving targets, if the enemy is standing still for a second its an easy burst but if the enemy is aware of my actions and they run for a corner or have a jetpack its a bit difficult for me to adjust my aim constantly to accommodate that unless I am using a shotgun the problem is in the more open environments assault rifles are better but adjusting your aim while firing at someone just often takes too long. Because of this I only end up using shotguns and LMG's which are my favorite weapons for sure but in bigger firefights they kinda feel a bit clunky.
I found infravision to be a crutch (albiet a very useful one) which is great for smoke, but most streamers I watch don't use it. It did help me get better at sniping and CQC overall
I play on higher settings simply because I enjoy the experience more. I very rarely play HA, and overall I play video games more for fun than being competitive or grinding stats.
Ok, now I realize why I'm much more lethal when I use a night vision scope. It's because I have increased visibility. Thanks for the info. I'm turning my settings down to potato mode now.
Additionally the game is blurry by default regardless of resolution. If your on AMD here are some settings that make a huge difference. Image sharpening 100% Force AF x16 Force AA SS x2 Surface quality Quality
@@PrimeSS right click desktop, open amd Radeon, go to gaming tab, click the three dots on the right and browse to planetside 2 x64 exe. Once that's done click on the planetside 2 listing and all the settings will be there. Sorry I'm tired and can explain more later.
So which settings should I lower? Tried change settings (particle, effect, lighting) but I don't see any difference. When I shoot I still lose sight of the enemy.
Overall quality change it to low. Turn Shadows off. Turn flora off. Turn particles to low or off. Turn brightness up to .30. Uncheck all the boxes like Bloom. And that should do it.
1:00 I kinda got lost from watching the background footage, taking 7 players out while dodging not only bullets but also a harasser by moving back and forth on a hill using it as cover.
Being able to track an enemy player with a smooth frame rate means the world of difference in this game. In a 12 vs 12 my K:D is usually ~3, in a 48-48+ battle my K:D is more like 0.6 not including revives (it'll be slightly lower than even that) because my framerate sucks.
Love the videos and I've learned a lot...but can give you 1 tip commander. I was watching you play and noticed your cross hair placement is at the feet until you engage in a fight. Take a page from us Counter Strike players. Head height at all times. Shorter distance to acquire the head. It's a super hard habit to break, but it can help you win some fights.
Yeah I think the problem is more netcode than gitgud. Lots of these players are seasoned FPS players. Yeah there are some small differences but it's not that different from other games. Lots of it comes down to how strong the clientside is. I ran a VPN from EU on NA East and tripled my K/D. Around 4:00 in that clip you can see the guy is shooting at where you WERE both times in the clip. That's probably what it looked like to him. Most people don't have such bad aim to miss the head/chest on a stationary target. That happens to me a lot despite have good aim in FPS games. Also the fact that TTK is tied to FPS up until around 60 is huge because most players are not getting 60 fps in big fights. There also seems to be some really bad input delay. If I drag my mouse to the right and shoot you can see the bullets shooting BEHIND my aim, even from about 1ft away from the wall. This couldn't be projectile speed at that close..
The problem is DEFINITELY unfair ISP routes 3,000 miles wide continent "Round Trip" Latency and every engagement being decided Client Side for the shooter with a dash of super-long Tick-Rate server side!
I noticed you sprint spam a lot particularly in the footage from The Palisades. does sprinting effect your shot time in planetside 2? has anyone measured it?
I play on potato mode, and still find it hard to track a target with dark camos sometime. I do hope they can make infravision craftable or at least provide something similar with higher drop rate. At some point I did try the NV scope but I found it bit of a niche, I need better visability when I am not at ADS most of the time.
I use a nv scope on my medic all the time and I get more kills because of it than without.. sure, I cant see far, but its a medic and usually am more in the fight than out of it.
Cyr. could we maybe see your mouses program where you can set sens on the mouse itself, and ingame specifically. it would be somewhat helpful for me personally to work off what it could be, so i could adjust from there. would appriciate it.
that clip at the start is me in literally every gun fight im so use to controller in every other game i play then i came to pc and i just get destroyed by anyone and everyone and it makes me wanna commit scooter ankle gr8 vid btw
I think shotgun play is a completely different ballgame compared to most other weapons (even through people trash shotguns). It seems to be more about positioning and picking your ranged fights wisely.
That's what's great about this game, there is a lot of different ways to play, for example I suck with snipers and prefer to play as light asault because the jetpack lets me reach places that are inaccessible for other classes
Okay question answer thank u infravision I was just looking I don't see that implant in the list of purchasable implants yeah I'm glad it isn't a setting on the PC cuz I play on console and we won't have thosesettings that all our way of controlling particle effects like muzzle flashes by putting on a flash suppressor which is only partly effective
I want to start recording my gameplay just for myself to watch back an improve since I've got a lot more time to play Planetside again (As has everyone) whats the best cheapest/ free option for recording extended sessions?
If you have an Nvidia or AMD card from within the past 5 years, it should have some built in recording capabilities, just need to track down the software from them.
It is a really really bad thing about the game that they can put all this work into having a stellar looking game with beautiful lighting. But then have all of that be cut off by the balls by the simple fact that lower graphics settings are actually the most advantageous to play with. Definitely something to consider for planetside 3 (if they ever get there). One thing i've noticed about video games is that most advanced graphics are not always the way to go. I can think of 2 games in particular that bucked the trend and did something very intelligence; they didn't go for the most advanced graphics but instead went for asthetic appeal of a lower quality of graphics settings, and it worked out very well. The first game is Planescape: Torment. It wasn't some fancy 3D engine thing. They just too the bioware infinity engine and, without making any huge leaps in performance, chose a character and art style that was beautifully rounded and somehow just so goddam aesthetically pleasing it was great to look at. The other example was World of Warcraft. Again, they made a deliberate design decision to make it more cartoony, but that was soooo smart because that meant it could run on so many machines. And the graphics were, again, not advanced but very very pleasing in their smoothness, character and charm. Actually I'll give you one more; Warcraft II. At the time that was going head to head with Command & Conquer but I remember thinking at the time "of course all my friends are talking about Warcraft and not C&C, despite C&C being a vastly superiour game. Just look at how charming these ogres are. These grunts and foot men are... i dont know they just look cool. And there was nothing fancy about it just the pixel art was very pleasing. It's honestly the right way to go with games anyways because honestly the state of AAA gaming is in the trash because it takes so much to make them, bigger and bigger teams and MOST of that budget is graphics. Not gameplay. So they don't innovate or take any risks and now everything is stale. Bigger teams make it harder to pursue a concise vision and management gets harder.
I mean without particles and bloom the game is absolutely fine for discerning targets, I’ve played like that for over 4 years (or is it 5?). Other settings you can leave as whatever.
8:20 I just hate the Butcher so much. It's so bad, you need about 12 hits to register out of the shitty cone of fire to kill that guy. And at least 4 or five were headshots. Watch in slowmo!
Thanks for that insight, i now understand way better why i am at a disadvantage playing on ultra, always feeling like i handicap myself due to the graphics settings, lighting and particles. However, seeing how ugly the game is on low, that is a price i won't ever pay. NV scopes work wonders, though limiting the FOV.
I play on ultra settings because I want to play good looking games. Maybe I might have an extra kill 3% of the time, but that's an easy sacrifice to play something that looks pretty good compared to playing something that looks shit. I have no framerate problems and consistent 2-3kdr.
Fricking same, I can't go back, I've tried. Help me I cant see shit anymore without it. For some reason it seems like my frames are better when I use it too, but maybe that's just psychological. I want to use other implants sometimes but when I switch it just feels sooo bad. Also the smoke cheese is nice sometimes when you need to breach.
So I recently started running on potato setting (actually going to the config files and turning stuff to minimum since the menu only goes so far) and even though visibility is much better it still sucks compared to games like CSGO. It pisses me off cause I hate how the infra vision implant doesn't differentiate between allies and enemies but I still find myself using it cause otherwise I just take too long to spot people. I really wish you could just see people by default, not have to grind for implants and mess around in the config files just so that you can kinda spot the people you need to shoot at...
Do you think you could do a video on how the different classes may be best utilized based on the players capabilities? is that too broad? I.E.: (With their personal history of FPS's) Those with a lot of patience and steady aim would probably be better playing the Infi. Those with excellent snap shot ability could be LA's. Those with damage support could be HA's. Those with some basic gun skills and support skills could be CM's. those with little gun play (hard time playing FPS's, but want to play and still be a part of the picture) could be Engi's? Something like that, maybe more in depth? That would be awesome. :) Like, for me, i prefer CM, because my gun play is mediocre at best, but i also do not mind supporting my faction. getting the better gunners back up on their feet, etc...
@@JohnFromAccounting I'm aware. I've been following him for quite some time. I'm also not talking about individual class breakdown. I'm talking about exactly what I said. A video on how each might fit certain player types. Not multiple videos on how to potentially play each class better. That's 2 different topics.
The best is to keep grinding it, if your aim is not great like mine, play more support then damage, always have your own sundie to travel in and spec out your ammo pack on the engineer, a spawn point in the right place can rack up a lot of passive xp (and certs) same with the ammo pack as you can drop 2 of them at max rank around fights. As a solo player i find it best to help out the other players nets me the most xp in the long run
I feel ya for sure man. I could run a WoW raid in my sleep but Planetside is so versatile I need someone to give me orders ;) Support is a great option and offers the most cinematic view.
@@Uzzgub I agree. every class in this game has a purpose. both support classes are fantastic at what they do, as long as you know what you want to do with them. I found that the best intermediary is the Combat Medic. If you want to work on your gun skills, you have that option while still supporting your faction.
There are aim training programs you can use to improve your tracking/flicking/precision etc. For survivability, I'd usually recomment to play like a coward. Get the recursion stat tracker, look at your KDR and try to improve that a little bit. Once you can reach your goal reliably, move it a bit further and repeat until you feel confident in your ability to survive and be useful. At the beggining of every session, jump into VR and warm up a bit, practice with your favorite class/weapon combo for a few minutes before deploying to a continent.
It's okay dude. If MOST of the people who installed this game didn't have a really hard time with it, the current player base would still have been large enough to sustain all of the original Servers it started out with :\ (I'm only 13k =over= 12k ratio myself so I'll never tell other people how to play)
Developers spend big bucks on pretty graphics and then a bunch of sweaty nerds get into their game and run potato mode, I would be mad :D I remember playing Modern Warfare 1 back when it came out and getting annoyed with particle effects and lens flare and trying to figure out how to make the game look as crappy as possible even though I could run it on highest settings without issues. That game was a wet dream for people who like to dig through config files. I even had different config settings for each map.
I am playing as NC and for some reason I can get two shotted by enemy team while im max shields and armor and the shots were body shots. No high powered weapons mostly just standard arsenals. >:(
I really really love this game for the massive battles and the sense of awe when just massive teams of people are fighting everywhere but a MASSIVE turn of for me is the lack of weapons and there shitty animations, I really wish there was way more weapons not just copy and paste and change the stats and design by the slightest amount but brand new weapons with amazing animations and gun sounds as guns in this game is something you use all the time no matter what so it’s best to put the most Quilty and effort into that
Could extrapolate this a lot further out into: Why aren't there MORE CAPPING situations?? Why is 98% of all Lattice ownership decided by the same 10 LMG aimbotters in a cramped little corridor where "Bullet Time" and Drop and even Spread has no impact whatsoever on the outcome of the fight?....Let alone VEHICLES or any other logistics??
"I really wish there was way more weapons not just copy and paste and change the stats and design by the slightest amount" Generally it is far harder to balance asymmetrical weapons, and even harder for people to perceived them as balanced. That said, most of the newer weapons are quite different in designs from the other weapons. The kindred and Horizon aren't like other carbines. The Watchman and Promise are different from the other LMGs. The Canis was so different with its unstable ammunition that it caused a balance catastrophe before they changed its HS multiplier.
Joseph Burchanowski even with all the current weapons if they just re did the animations for reloads and pulling it out it would make them so much more appealing to me, the current looks like something someone would do with no history of work in animations, yes I agree balancing can be a problem but this can all be fixed up with community testing
@@daito7729 "but this can all be fixed up with community testing" Ahahaha. Sorry, for the laugh, but after seeing how much the community argues about all the weapon balance already with the carbon copies, yeah, I don't have high hopes for that fixing the problem completely.
Same, I used to joke on the VR, but now I sometimes have to go there to "warm up" especially if I'm using a new gun
That is so great to hear that they helped! Thanks for watching and good hunting Planetside soldier!
I play potato settings due to my potato skills and smashed laptop performance of this excellent game
yee. I play potato mode in order to get all 40 of my fps
AWS has been a great tool. Costs me .34 cents an hour for a cloud megamachine w low latency. 4 Core Xeon. 16GB and an Nvidia Tesla 4
Infravision has become a must for me. It makes such a big difference to immediately see your target.
I like it on infiltrator because you can see when the enemies peek.
dude.. its a blessing to see this video.. I hope you and your family is doing well. God bless, and long live TR.
Wow, last time I was this early the Planetside devs were showing off different variations for the Harasser... what happened to them?
Thanks for the great content. I struggle with this games obsession on headshots; i understand it for precision/sniper shots, but every gun and every encounter at any range must be focused on headshots. This video helps to think through getting better at that. Also that TR gun you’re using at the end has almost converted me to switch over completely, wow.
After many hours of tweaking my settings I think I've hit on a setup which keeps the game looking decent while also eliminating most visual clutter that I'm happy with
@Zoa Basically, everything on the highest, except:
"Graphics" on Medium
"Effects" on Low
"Flora" on Low
Particles in the only tricky one, it creates some effects which can obscure vision, but turning it down makes your tracers very difficult to see, so this one is up to you.
“FRAG OUT” famous last words.
Wiggly ADAD crouching, shields breaking, explosions and screen shake, after 90 minutes I'm just exhausted for the evening.
hey just a note about that infrasight implant; they just added infradine from the blackmarket, which gives the effect for 20 secs. Resupplied with A7
That will be interesting I will have to test it.
I can remember back in the PS1 days, my comp was such a pile that I had to run darklight vision as a cloaker to get playable frames lol
Once I started aiming for the head and "getting good" I started getting a lot more kills. But really, aiming for the head helped me a lot. Lovin' infiltrator and heavy assault.
You just have to get used to high graphics, when you're trained enough you see through all the glitter and hit heads like nobodies business.
Your point about reducing the amount of info your brain has to handle as well as making it easier to pick up the enemies head is why I use the infrasvision implant on all builds on all classes.
Infravision absolutely helps avoid visual clutter, lets you focus.
Nice one! Looking forward to the next episodes!
*Remembers the first time firing a Vanu Sovereignty gun* Yeah...the one thing I do have to say while lasers are fun and all...sometimes for some reason I just end up temporarily blinding myself with the muzzle flash of my own gun. It was a really weird occurrence but I just simply worked with it most of the time.
the max anti infantry gun with the highest fire rate also covers half your screen while shooting, for each hand...
@@jahrazzjahrazz8858 oof yea that can definatly hurt your awareness on whats going on in the sidelines but still DPS for close quarters is pretty nice. Though so far I prefer using the Quasar or Blueshift as my anti infantry.
@@shadowlight6084 I think most people use the blue shifts for the accuracy, similar to TR where everyone recommends Mercys for accuracy. Still hitting people on mid range and headshotting people on close range gives you the highest dps in general if fights go past 5 m
@@jahrazzjahrazz8858 Headshots in general ends everything. I'm trying my best but I can't seem to easily land headshots like everyone else . It'd be nice if bodyshots were also worth something but they aren't sadly.
@@shadowlight6084 if your fps are fine and you use high accuracy weapons it is probably just down to lots and lots of practice, there is nothing stopping you from not getting there eventually :D
Ps4 players: **cried at 20 fps because we are stuck in ultra**
Looking forward to this series, especially everything you have to say about positioning and paths/routes to take or avoid.
This really helped me alot and reminded me of other games where this is very useful as well. Thanks, Cryrious. Hopefully this will help me in CoD MW as well as PS2.
Wow, Cyrious thank you so much for this tutorial!!
I like the idea of this series. I hope you can keep it running.
Great video! I am currently "training" some new people to get into ps2, and it is not easy. But your videos really help me out :) Thanks
Cyrious I love the content, but please for the love of God make the intro quieter.
It's still a very valid point though that under bizzare scenarios it will be easier to pick up opponents with lower graphics so people who are concerned should try it for that.
this helped me a bunch, TYVM cyrious for another great vid!
If you have trouble with moving targets I highly recommend you to get a 165 or 244hz monitor trust me
Great video for new player's and vet's.
Great content, thank you.

"Advanced Training"
"That's where I leave you with the introduction to the principles of gunplay"
I found infravision to be a crutch (albiet a very useful one) which is great for smoke, but most streamers I watch don't use it. It did help me get better at sniping and CQC overall
Also i noticed some people appear as dark grey when Infra is up - any idea on what that is? is that some type of Camo or NS troops or something?
what settings would you suggest?
I play on higher settings simply because I enjoy the experience more. I very rarely play HA, and overall I play video games more for fun than being competitive or grinding stats.
Ok, now I realize why I'm much more lethal when I use a night vision scope. It's because I have increased visibility. Thanks for the info. I'm turning my settings down to potato mode now.
Hell yeah. It's finally happening. The hype is real.
Additionally the game is blurry by default regardless of resolution.
If your on AMD here are some settings that make a huge difference.
Image sharpening 100%
Force AF x16
Force AA SS x2
Surface quality Quality
Where do I go to change these settings?
What graphic options should I tone down for better visibility?
Particles and overall quality to low, or the biggest ones that increase it while putting you textures to high quality, both terrain and character.
@@CMDRCyrious thx

I kinda got lost from watching the background footage, taking 7 players out while dodging not only bullets but also a harasser by moving back and forth on a hill using it as cover.
When u hit that feat u become a god
I would LOVE infravision... but well, epic implant with low spawn chance with the added problem of being TR which means i never win alerts
Im having this problem where all I see is particles and I cant see whats in front. (Especially fighting against vanu lasers).
Ive not had any problems with visibility on ultra. The trick isn't in visible recognition. But to simply spot movement or contrast.
Great guide! Can't find the next one though on consistency?
I noticed you sprint spam a lot particularly in the footage from The Palisades. does sprinting effect your shot time in planetside 2? has anyone measured it?
Not sure on that.
Like always keep up the good work
Cyr. could we maybe see your mouses program where you can set sens on the mouse itself, and ingame specifically. it would be somewhat helpful for me personally to work off what it could be, so i could adjust from there. would appriciate it.
When clicking the link in the description to your user options i get "Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist."
Yes it's all about the settings
that clip at the start is me in literally every gun fight im so use to controller in every other game i play then i came to pc and i just get destroyed by anyone and everyone and it makes me wanna commit scooter ankle gr8 vid btw
I think shotgun play is a completely different ballgame compared to most other weapons (even through people trash shotguns). It seems to be more about positioning and picking your ranged fights wisely.
I'm bad at CQB that's why i just resort to sniping all the time lol. Great vid as usual! =)
That's what's great about this game, there is a lot of different ways to play, for example I suck with snipers and prefer to play as light asault because the jetpack lets me reach places that are inaccessible for other classes
true that man
was there background music in this one ? if so feels weird without hearing it in the background but great video
There is but quite low. Its music from EVE Online...I just noticed this in the videos but it always seemed so familiar...now I know why.
yeah it was to light here
Okay question answer thank u infravision I was just looking I don't see that implant in the list of purchasable implants
yeah I'm glad it isn't a setting on the PC cuz I play on console and we won't have thosesettings that all our way of controlling particle effects like muzzle flashes by putting on a flash suppressor which is only partly effective
The New Conglomerate will never stop calling you commander Cyrus 😂🙃😉💙💛
How many years has it been and I'm still crutching on IV sights.
Well as long as it works and I have long range vision for anti-armor on Heavy.
8:20 I just hate the Butcher so much. It's so bad, you need about 12 hits to register out of the shitty cone of fire to kill that guy. And at least 4 or five were headshots. Watch in slowmo!
@ 1:00 king of the hill moment. like what the hell are those NC doing! Squads worth of washouts got stomped by 1 guy.
Since I unlocked infravision, I'm playing a gray scale game.
I.E.: (With their personal history of FPS's)
Those with a lot of patience and steady aim would probably be better playing the Infi.
Like, for me, i prefer CM, because my gun play is mediocre at best, but i also do not mind supporting my faction. getting the better gunners back up on their feet, etc...
Check his channel, he has done advanced guides on all the classes.
@@JohnFromAccounting I'm aware. I've been following him for quite some time.
I'm also not talking about individual class breakdown. I'm talking about exactly what I said.

That's 2 different topics.
but how do players get to lvl 5000? is or was there an xp exploit?
Can't get that high a level.
Dude I suck at this game. Even your guides can't help me. Awesome content though!
If MOST of the people who installed this game didn't have a really hard time with it, the current player base would still have been large enough to sustain all of the original Servers it started out with :\
(I'm only 13k =over= 12k ratio myself so I'll never tell other people how to play)

"I really wish there was way more weapons not just copy and paste and change the stats and design by the slightest amount"
Generally it is far harder to balance asymmetrical weapons, and even harder for people to perceived them as balanced.
@@daito7729 "but this can all be fixed up with community testing"
Ahahaha. Sorry, for the laugh, but after seeing how much the community argues about all the weapon balance already with the carbon copies, yeah, I don't have high hopes for that fixing the problem completely. It helps, and would prevent a repeat of the Canis situation though.
Joseph Burchanowski they should still with all the current weapons re model and animate them to give them a fresher and more modern feel
