Fantastic looking item, I’m in the process of piecing everything for my IS with 1j swap. I have a cd009 already that I’m thinking of using, but I have concerns with the stock diff as most people claim the gearing is too short for highway use (daily driving). Is this something you guys have addressed or have any input on what would be best for a solution? Also what makes this different then serialnine kit?
This is true. The 350z has a 3.5 where Toyota's are typically 3.7 or higher. From our research online, driftmotion has 8" gear sets for as low as 3.58:1 to rebuild your rear end with (all the way up to 5.29) They would be an excellent shop to talk to regarding rear end ratios and matching a cd009's driveshaft rpm
The transmission wont fit without hammering. The video showcases an IS300 so you can just follow the marks and it should fit perfectly(check 13:42). Regarding the clutch, for street we recommend the ACT Single dics clutch that you can by directly from us(rated for 580fl/lbs). For all the clutch options check out this link: fischracingtech.com/pages/choose-your-clutch
With the "single" option you can use any good 350z or 370z clutch. The "multi" and "street twin" options are designed to be used with the Tilton clutches that are on our website(feel free to purchase those ones from somewhere else as long as the part number is the same)
What is the weight of the single mass flywheel? Also I've heard that there will be increased gear chatter without the dual mass flywheel that comes with the vq/cd009 engine combination, do you have any intention of offering this for jz engine owners? My IS300 is such a smooth street car and I'd hate to increase the NVH with this transmission when ar5/w5x combinations don't seem to have this issue. Thanks!
14lb. Sorry, we currently don't offer a dual mass flywheel. However, we have several hundreds of kits out there with no complaints about this. The CD009 in general is a noisier transmission compared to other transmissions.
the suspensful music hahhhaa whats the soundtrack so ican use it for my pre workout... on a side note if one of those bearing spacers fit does that mean you have the weaker cd009 transmission? also no blue loctite for the flywheel bolts?
Flywheel bolts installed per arp's specs. The smaller bearings do mean a slightly weaker input, but the main thing you want to look for is triple synchros. If you have proper input shaft alignment (the biggest problem with adaptor plate kits) then that wont be the weak point on your trans, regardless of size.
The kit comes with a transmission isolator mount. Serialnine offers a trans mount that works with our kits transmission position. Aside from that you can make one from steel
Great kit just sucks its missing either a driveshaft or clutch system. $2900 for the kit and shirt throw without a driveshaft and clutch is a little steep.
Hey Ty, Our UZ test car is currently getting wired up, and should be on the road soon. Once we have tested it to confirm fitment we will be launching the UZ bellhousings. In theory that will happen before Black Friday, so quite soon
Hi. We have always ordered new 350z slip yokes then taken our oem shaft to a local driveshaft shop to have them shortened the appropriate amount. Because our kit is shorter than the typical auto bell/adaptor plate, I am not sure of an OTS solution for a driveshaft.
It will be quite similar. The CD999 was developed by Serialnine to work in Lexus/Toyota chassis, without having to cut the trans tunnel. They have altezzas, crowns, jzx, and aristos as their shop cars, so being similar to R154 was definitely something they had in mind when designing the shifter.
At this time we do not offer our own shifter. We have some serialnine cd999 shifters on hand that make the position nearly stock, on most Toyota sedans.
We have everything for the kits in stock, so those still go out within 1-2 days of being ordered. USPS estimated delivery times are still in the 3-7 day range So if it goes through customs smoothly, you should have it in under 2 weeks.
Does it matter if you were to use a manual out of a 370z, they seem to have some electronics for throttle matching... I take it the gearbox would just run fine as a normal manual?????
Hey Peter. We do, it will be available to the public soon. Currently we have one LS unit being tested in our shop g35 and it has had 0 issues. Follow us on IG or FBfor updates about its release

What type and size sockets will we need for install? I noticed that the ARP bolts are different to anything that I have.
The arp bolts use 1/2" 12 point sockets.
The bellhousing bolts are typical metric allen drive. The bottom 4 are one size smaller than the top ones.

I'll be ordering a kit for my IS300 soon. I was wondering what Driveshaft and Transmission mount will i be using?
A custom driveshaft will be required, either by modifying your stock one or having a full one piece made.
The kit comes with a transmission isolator mount. Serialnine offers a trans mount that works with our kits transmission position. Aside from that you can make one from steel
For the 3uz to cd009 adapter bell housing, is modifications to the transmission as far as additional cutting required?
It requires the same amount of cutting as the JZ adapter. See here: ua-cam.com/video/gkuHjeLF48s/v-deo.htmlsi=tp7G-XkMwiqzUAgn
@@FischRacingTech so just cut the bell housing, nothing else " not required for LS" ?

Yes, this is the difference between a full conversion bellhousing, and an adaptor plate.
The fisch adapter housing is different from the Collins adapter... which is the better way to go?
In my opinion the Fisch adapter is better because adapter plates usually have alignment issues which the Fisch Bellhousing doesn't have.
