      You just have to machine the block (oil return and fuel rail), everything else is just rods and pistons for under 1000whp (usually). There is a drag racer on UA-cam that literally machined the block threw some rods and pistons in (with supporting mods of course) and is running 1300whp.

The guys jaguar was 1920s, and was overhad cam..I said chain no doubt? He said I'll pop the bonnet for you.

    What is the benefit of using a GE head? I'm running a GE head because I had a GE engine in my GS300 and running a Level 10 A650E tran. Got 619 hp and 609 lb-ft of torque on E. Also, I lined it up with the dots, not the Slash hasn't had any problems yet. Thank You for helping me with my build!! Also, I would suggest that anybody spends $13,000 on parts. I should have gotten a free t-shirt or hat.

    • @BoostyGeoff
      @BoostyGeoff 9 місяців тому +1

      GE heads flow air better for the turbo once the heads been ported correctly ect 🤘 also Its a non contact engine so not correctly timing it like you have by not setting it up to the timing mark wont cause your piston to smash valves but you are probably loosing performance by the timing being off slightly, correct it asap if you havent already.

      Howdy and thanks for the positive feedback. The stock 2jz-gte can live a really nice life at 800whp. You shouldn't have to do anything to the engine but cams and valve springs, the rest of the power comes from the supporting mods. Thanks

    Would you be able to share details about oil pump ? Do you modify it yourself or buy it somewhere ?

    • @jaymeagher1510
      @jaymeagher1510 2 роки тому

      These pumps have their own limitations by design. Georotor pumps suffer at high speed to be able to feed on the inlet side. You can buy a "prepped" pump from Real St and the main advantage is that it's been properly lubricated for start up and is free of any debris. If you're not going to buy a prepped pump just make sure your pump is clean and lubricated during startup. I don't feel there's any gain in flow with modifying the pump, there's just speed limits to the design. Thanks

    Wonder if coating you mentioned on the buckets could be valuable in some of the coyote valvetrain components?

    • @jaymeagher1510
      @jaymeagher1510 2 роки тому +1

      The DLC coating works well where you have splash lubrication on parts that are swiping/sliding on each other. The Coyote is a roller lobe so it's not nearly as susceptible to the oil being displaced like a flat tappet arrangement. The chains can be a mess on the Coyote but a coating won't fix that. Thanks

    Hey Jay @realstreetperformance, you were talking about how the billet cams like the GSC's will dig in and eat up the buckets, hence you do the DLC coating on the buckets.
    My question is, can you do the DLC coating on the cams instead of the buckets? I already did the shimless buckets conversion on my GTE head, so everything is already machined and spec'd. It would be much easier if I do the DLC coating on the cams instead of the buckets. Would that work? TIA.

    Did you install the thrust bearings dry?

      No, I mock them up dry to measure the clearance then lube them up for install. Thanks

    I love boosted 2j sounds but i dont think i can afford building 1. Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to build a boosted 1 or 2j that safely pushes 5- 600hp ?

      Take a look at the @Teysik channel. He used a GE non VVTI bottom end with a GE VVTI head. It's is essentialy a GTE without oil squirters. And you can do it for 1000-2000 dollars. Take into consideration that an engine swap itself will cost you thousands and thousands of dollars ( if the engine did not originally belong in the car)
      A gte will be safe to push to 600hp without major mods.

      Its only gonna get worse overtime. The limited numbers of the blocks will be used up.

      Yep, I’ve noticed that they are already over $1k. It’s ridiculous.
