And what makes it even better, is that this is an in depth video of all the information I would need to make a decision. Thanks to you, I've saved hours of searching online trying to find what I need for my project. I've chosen the PNY Elite-X.

Really nice video and thanks for this post. Can I ask, how and what setting to do on Windows to achieve this speed? I purchased like you have and did that benchmark but couldn’t reach the same speed as yours.
Appreciated if you can help. Thanks.
Important is to have the same card reader, you can see it 5 minutes in the video
Oh, my PC settings are here after about 45 sec ua-cam.com/video/UjM-S0a16FY/v-deo.html
Do you think we shoukd get a faster than what we need right now microsd card so its future proof for what i might need or not need later? Or its a waste? Microsd card getting faster but not a lot device seem make use of the extra speed or can make any different if you use sligjtly faster card thats same UHS type
Since there are really well priced options available I'd suggest to buy something good, and even a bit better than you'd need right now
Hi great video! Just a note: I have the same Kingstone Canvas Select 128gb but I get over 60MB/s of writing speed. What could it be?
Lucky you, they send you a better card with the imprint of the Canvas Select - or - other option: I got a bad one
Great review!

Amazing work !
Thank you so much
Hey nice video, though not exactly what I was looking for. I was hoping to find out which card has the best random read speeds. Personally because I wanted to get the best one for a steam deck (also important for switch), which will use the card to store games on. Loading times for micro sd cards are almost the same for some games on the steam deck, but ones that rely on random reads are significantly slower. I have yet to find someone test as many cards as you, it'd be great if you did a follow up. Thanks
You can see each card's read speed in the Crystal Disk Mark results, starting here: 05:05 min How I tested each card
@@ParadiseBizz Thanks, though I think you may misunderstand (unless I missed something). In Crystal Disk Mark, the first two options test the sequential reads and writes. The second two, RND4K, both test the random reads and writes. Sequential is good for photos and videos, but when it comes to games that need to access different locations in the memory quickly, it is much slower.
@@ParadiseBizz I agree with this comment. You did a fantastic job testing these cards, though it would be better if you had also tested random read and writes. For my use-case personally, I would like to copy lots of individual images (about 1MB each) to the card, which is where random writes would be very important. Sequential speeds (as you tested) are mostly relevant for copying large, solid files such as videos.
@@codykrzyzaniak8164 You're right, I will consider this in my next video. I was trying to keep it as short as possible in order not to bore the viewers. And it became almost 15 min.

Nice review... I'm thinking of taking a chance on the silicon power 1tb card. It's priced very competitively at those speeds. I just hope the performance scales with the added storage size.
Let me know when you have it. I have never had a card with such a huge capacity. Look forward to hearing back from you.
@@ParadiseBizz I just tested the 1TB SP card in my Steam Deck vs a 512GB Samsung Evo select with KDiskMark 3.1.2. The read speeds were nearly identical, with the SP actually inching ahead at 94MB/sec to the Evo's 92MB/sec. However, what really impressed me was the SPs write speed. The Evo write speed was only 25MB/sec, but the SP was an impressive 82MB/sec! Anecdotally, I did feel like games were installing faster on the 1TB SP. Considering it's significantly less money than the 1TB Sandisk extreme micro SDs, insane performance for the value! I'm assuming the Evo may be more resilient, but that's not a priority of mine for installing games.
@@SlakOffs Thanks for sharing. This confirms the results in my speed test. The SP is really worth it
@@ParadiseBizz For sure! I'm still not sure why the Evo performed so poorly, I may test it in Windows later, but the SP definitely lived up to the hype.
@@SlakOffs Hey I appreciate you for sharing those results. I was looking at that card for my Steam Deck as well, I have both PNY's and SanDisk's 1TB cards which are good but way more expensive even when on sale. Saw the Silicon Power Superior 1TB A2 card today for $89.99 and what I've seen so far about it looks good so I may have to snatch one up on Friday. You had the A2 or A1? Sidenote I have an Evo Select 512GB card as well and it quit working for me within the first month, becoming unreadable in Steam OS, Windows 10 and 11, and my Android phone. Pretty sure it was probably a dud but yeah that happened. My three Samsung PRO Plus cards however all work great for many months now, and the nice part is I've seen those going for cheaper or identical pricing to EVO Select now for many months plus have better speeds so I highly recommend those if getting more Samsung cards.
Would that kingston microsd card reader has some hidden chip to make their own branded microsd card biased faster speed?
hahaha, that's a funny thought. In this case the Kingston Canvas Select would have placed better than rank 17.
No, I tested these cards also in other readers. The Kingston Canvas go! plus was always the best.

The most important speed for micro sd cards is often random read/write speeds. It is also where you will find the most variance between brands and SKUs.
It would have been good to have random speed taken into account beside sequential one.

Did you take into account the small file write which are important with systems and portable programs?
You probably know the answer to that: I did not cover all aspects. Next time I will try to get more test results.
Why don't we get the full use of all the gigabytes why isn't 128 GB usable?
Windows reports formatted capacity (usable), while storage manufacturers report unformatted size, resulting in the difference. I think the Manufacturers should report the usable storage to be fair
I appreciate the time (and $), you've spent on bringing us these results for all these cards. As well as your reply to my comment on your previous video.
At this late date, my concern with all of these cards is the potential for counterfeits being injected into the supply chains. Which may account for my negative bias towards SanDisk. Which were all purchased from Costco, over the last ten years. So either no retailer is immune to this issue, or SanDisk simply uses junk I/O controllers, in 99% of their cards.
So in regard to your cards (in this video). Is there any way for you to do a "measurable" test for these cards that would simulate repeated writes, and over writes until failure for each card? Without actually doing it, of course.
And if not, you might consider buying two or three units of one of the cheaper dash cams, that have time/date stamp water marking. And literally loop record each of these cards to failure. Which will be indicated by the date/time stamp of the last video recorded. It would certainly be interesting to see the results of that.
The "test" could be run starting with three cams, using the last three cards in the rankings. Run the cameras on infinite loop overwrite, and check them weekly for failures.
Once a card fails (and some of these WILL fail, sooner, than later), move to the next card in the ranking list, ending with the Kingston.
Then maybe do a video update every month on the current state of the "torture test."
Just an idea....
Regardless, good video, here. And thanks again! 👍
Great idea, with a lot of extra work involved. But in fact I kept the top 3 cards for my dashcams and my drone and I am constantly using them - all 3 so far without signs of weakening or failures. The Kingston is in my 6K drone and handles all the heavy loads without any problems.
@@ParadiseBizz lol! Yes, that WOULD be a bit labor intensive. As for the cards, glad to hear you are having good luck with them. I've always had a soft spot in my heart, for Kingston. They made the first set of RAM DIMMs I used for my first PC build back in the 1990s. When IRQ conflicts, and motherboard jumper settings were a thing... And they posted, and ran flawlessly.
So, based on your results, I'll probably pick a couple of them up now. Thanks for the reply. 👍
Yes, would like to see the results too. Because the ratio price to speed is not all what matters. P.S. Just wondering Samsung PRO Plus what would take.
You can easily disregard the ratio price to speed, if that's not important to you. Still you have the information about the speed itself and the usable storage
@@MF-le7fp I personally like Kingston too
🏆🏆 I just can't understand why canvas go plus is neglected and SanDisk and samsung is more popular
They probably have a higher marketing budget
They say that an authentic sd card has lower usable storage than what is written? Compare to fake which has more storage than what is written.
Thank you for your comment. I would always go for the REAL DEAL, that ensures that the right materials were used and you get the quality that was promised by the manufacturer.
If a fake card fails due to wrong production you can lose all your work, your images. This will cost more than the money you saved buying a fake.
Samsung pro plus is missing out on your video! I would love to see it compared to the other micro sd cards you reviewed! Thanks though for the reviews of these cards! Double thumbs up! ;)

Good video but could you please explain what an "endurance card" is and why it is better for the uneducated?
Good point, I will make sure to include this explanation in my next card comparison video. In general, those cards are more resistant to shock, magnetic fields, radiation, high temps... They protect your footage better
@@ParadiseBizzI'm skeptical. Unless it says "Endurance" on the card itself, I will assume it's not high endurance.
Kingston, Sandisk and Samsung are the only ones to label their cards with "Endurance".

Micro sd and sd cards have a coprocessor, enabling 10% speedup for the devices, even if the card is not in use, just it is in the slot. HC has a “stupid coprocessor”, and an accelerator specially designed for older devices such as Symbian, older laptops, and android 2 or 4. XC has a more precise coprocessor, but less effective accelerator, today’s phones and laptops have enough processor speed. To teach the coprocessor and to enable the accelerator, you need to play Mahjong, for Symbian Mahjong Mania jar. Needs Nokia 301 or similar, 6220c has no effect on the sd card. Once it’s done, you don’t have to do it for the card. Moto racing rivals jar extreme bike can test if the accelerator is on (107 max speed), to achieve it, the mini golf jar has to be started, then the moto racing rivals. Nokia 6220c can format a bad large micro sd card.

Cats are very cool I have one He's great..
As soon as I run my speed test on my lexar 64 GB
I will let you know what I come up with
Like I said before I only paid $10 for it so we'll see what it produces.

I have a cat too. Kiwi is just one year old, and very bossy. She allows me to live with her - lol

My cat owns me also I'm going to send you a clip in a few minutes of my cat hiking in the woods with me.
Standby he's pretty darn cool.
@@KTHKUHNKK Still waiting for the clip with your cat. I checked your channel, it's not there
Can you test with nintendo switch game load? Other clip with SW's card comparison test have more than 100k view, You get view, we get information. Win Win eiei..;)
Unfortunately I don't have a Nintendo switch to test it under game load
👍🔥🔥👍
Thanks for watching, please subscribe to my channel
in my experience the AData usb, sd or micro SD has been terrible to the point I avoid them all together
Sorry to read this and thanks for sharing. I mainly use the Lexar and the Kingston without any issues
Probably too costly for you but there needs to be a 512GB speed card shootout. Few people will use 128GB cards to seriously record 4K60/8K24 video because that will only provide about 2 hours of record time. For 512GB I would only trust Kingston Canvas Go Plus, Samsung Pro Plus, and Sandisk Extreme Pro. But MicroSD in general is dying due to phones removing the MicroSD slot, and it's getting very difficult to find good 512GB cards. Phone companies realize they can just charge extra for faster built-in storage and profit more.
You're right, I'd love to do it, but it is too expensive. To date - including my youtube earnings and viewers using my affiliate links I made about $40 back from the over $400 I spent on those cards
Tranquilo los que jugamos a Switch y a Deck estamos aqui 😂
did u actually use up any of the storage? a lot of these sd cards advertise as 128GB or 256GB etc... but actually have a capped storage as 32GB etc... this is is my main issue with buying these things. False advertising is so prominent with these, would've loved to see if you can actually use up the full storage on these without it capping out.
In my video I show for every single card how much usable space each card has. Non of them have such a huge discrepancy like you describe, getting only 32GB from a 128GB card. I think the lowest capacity of all 128GB cards was 112GB
Just purchase micro sd Samsung pro ultimate. And i think it's faster and more stable than my old extreme pro. You need try it!.
But for unlock full performance Samsung pro ultimate you need buy Samsung card reader😅
I'll try it out if someone would send it to me.
Mate. You do only one fault. If you test another time try 2 diferent popular external readers. Sometimes cards and reader from same manufacturer going better. I know that Sandisk do this in uhs1 card. Maybe kingston do this also. I have this Canvas card and it do great in Kinston reader. But in Sandisk reader it do about 100/100MB.s
Since all cards have been tested with the same card reader we still have some representable comparisons to determine which card performs better.
@@ParadiseBizz yes indead. But SOMETIMES card work better with card reader with this manufacturer. So if you test they in two fast readers can catch this exeptions. Kingston Lexar and Sandisk is the most good readers. You dont need to test all cards but only this who make good cards.
@@gooru20 I disagree, this would be misleading. If you make a test, you have to test all cards with the same reader(s) to get good comparables
Ill buy the number 1 sd card off of you ill pay what you paid for it let me know
Manuel, this is so nice of you. If you would use one of my affiliate links, this will help me already. The number one card is this one: amzn.to/35OKXFi
What Micro SD Card shall I get. I want something that is fast and affordable, so which one out of the bunch shall I get?
What do you want to use it for? Phone, drone, dash cam? It really depends on your purpose. Let me know and I am happy to make suggestions
@@ParadiseBizz Its for my Phone/Tablet, I would like something fast but I doubt I can even find one. I have a sandisk extreme 128gb which says it can do 190mb read but it doesn't even go up to 80mb read.
@@haider_205 I would recommend this one: amzn.to/3JlftEm it is currently on sale for only $15 and it will give you 155MB/s read and 123 MB/s write speed
@@ParadiseBizz How about the Samsung pro plus? I think that has slightly faster read speeds than the Lexar. But will it actually give me these read and write speeds and not around 80mb?
@@haider_205 amzn.to/3IPfjaC - It's a gamble. It says UP TO 180 Mb/s, but it can be less. Lexar was always a reliable performer. My absolute number one in cards and top recommendation is Kingston Canvas Go! Plus amzn.to/35OKXFi with REAL 162Mb/s read and 156 Mb/s write
The real test is what card fails as your number one lasted only 6 months before failing
That's odd, because I am using my number one since the make of this video, that's 2 years. It could be a fabrication issue. I would contact the manufacturer for a warranty exchange.
@@ParadiseBizz yeah it got really hot it so hot it burned
@@Bikepacking Is it possible that it was a fake card? Because this one is supposed to withstand high temps.
@@ParadiseBizz it as sent by the company for review so it was real
@@Bikepacking reach out to their customer service, they should refund you or send you a new one
Endurance cards have a different use than just speed. They don't have to be fast, as they are meant to be used in endurance demanding situations like dash cams.
There is also a difference beween sequential and random writes, determining the use case as well.
Good video, but it fails to highlight how pure speed is not necessarily the determining factor.
But it happens that an endurance card was ultimately also the fastest card. This serves every purposes and it protects the content even better.
What else should I have highlighted, other than speed and available capacity in order to compare the cards?
