    Japanese Omurice Ingredients (Serves 2):
    - 2 cups Cooked white rice (Preferably day-old rice)
    - 1 small Carrot
    - 1/2 White onion
    - 1/4 Green bell pepper
    - 1/4 lb Ground beef
    - 3 tbsp Vegetable oil (Divided)
    - 8 Eggs (Divided)
    - 2 tbsp Milk (Divided)
    - 1/2 tsp Salt (Divided)
    Omurice Sauce
    - 2 tbsp Butter
    - 2 tbsp Flour
    - 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    - 2 tbsp Ketchup
    - 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
    - 1 tbsp Honey
    - 1.5 cups Beef broth

    For those who aren't confident in flipping the egg, you can take the pan and flip it upside down on a plate, so the top part of the omelet is now on the bottom of the plate. Then slide the omelet off the plate back onto the pan so the bottom can seal.

    A good video to watch to really get the egg technique is the jacques pepin's omelette technique. It doesn't take much to master omelette, it's just about a few days of serious practice

    Thank you! I've been looking for a recipe for the specific omurice sauce. I made omurice for the first time last night. Not wanting to put ketchup on eggs or rice I whipped-up a quick teriyaki sauce that worked really well! But I will try this sauce recipe tomorrow. Again, THANK YOU!

    Add a little more cream (I like to use heavy cream) to your eggs and they will have a smoother texture and they won't brown as fast. Also, try adding a pat of butter to your oil. Butter makes everything better lol. Your rice looks so delicious!

      I would definitely use 3-4 eggs so that there is enough substance to be rolled into the omelette and pour out!

      Traditionally omurice is made with tomato ketchup.
      But where in the world do you get banana ketchup?? I've never heard of that, but it sounds amazing!

    hi im learning this recipe but i keep running into a problem: the egg keeps breaking apart. when I'm trying to fold the egg on itself, it just does not want to stay in one piece. the chopstick always rips the egg no matter how gentle I try to do it and in the end it just breaks off into small chunks or sometimes i just carve lines into the egg. how do i fix this?

      days with ev the egg technique definitely takes some practice, but it still tastes good if it doesn’t look perfect 😋

      It takes a lot of practice, but you NEED a nonstick pan and you have to make sure to control the heat (very hot pan in the beginning, but bring the heat down towards the end)

      You could, but you just want to make sure the whole thing is sealed, and not to overcook the center.

      Hello! You could try substituting with a mixture of soy sauce, ketchup and hoisin!

      for one tablespoon of worcestershire sauce you can replace it with one tablespoon of soy sauce, half a tablespoon of vinegar and half a tablespoon of sugar

    I'm frustrated. My sauce didn't thicken like I though it would. The roux was perfect then when I added the beef broth it became to watery. Maybe I should only put a cup next time.
