I just canceled my order for the new model 3 and am getting the bmw i4. Yes the MSRP is higher but BMW is running some insane lease incentives so I am actually getting the BMW i4 cheaper than the base tesla model 3 if you can believe it. Unlike Tesla other brands like BMW have the opportunity to negotiate on price
I have been waiting 3 months for a RWD model 3. They've been holding $4750 from me as I continue to wait. They tried to deliver me one a month ago and it had so many cosmetic imperfections on what was supposed to be a brand new straight from the factory car. I called BMW out of frustration as I have been living with NO car for months. BMW was able to not only match Tesla's deal but they beat it by $5 a month on the monthly payment! So I am getting a brand new BMW i4 cheaper than than I was getting the 2024 model 3. MSRP doesn't always matter with some incentives BMW is able to offer. They have really great deals on their EV leases.
Drove both and bought the i4. Tesla is much cheaper and it shows in ride and build quality. For the money, Teslas are good value, but not in the same league as BMW
If you are price conscious, go with the Telsa but if overall quality and driving experience is more important and within your budget, the i4 M50 is better. I bought the 2024 M50 last year and 22K miles later, I have no regrets. It still puts a smile on my face every day.
Nice comparison! However, is your Tesla experience with the newer Highland refresh or the older Model 3? At least the brief glimpse in the video showed the older model. There’s apparently quite a big difference between the two.
Just got myself a m3p - let me tell you, each and every day I can’t wait to wake up so I can drive that thing - it is a BLISS to drive at 10mph or 100mph - how it handles around the corners wwhooohooooo!!! It so hard not to speed 😂 it’s a dream come true vehicle truly! The only thing I’m disappointed with is seats! As they are cambered and could be better if it were flatter
I drove both and it wasn’t even a question for me. Got a 2024 M50 and it’s amazing. How doesn’t Tesla even have head up display? As for cost yeah it’s more however I leased it so it wasn’t that much more. Tesla lease with the amount due at signing its a no brainer. To go BMW. Not trusting any EV year for long term ownership. So in 3 years we will see if anything else is different.
I loved the BMW but at the spec I wanted it was almost 30k more and slower than my 2024 M3P I went with. I do miss BMW service and fit and finish though. Tesla service is trash and non existent. They break something everytime I take it in LOL
I mean....if looks matter ( and it does to me), I will not EVER buy ANY tesla cars at all. I have wanted the I4 M50 since it came out, and its finaly at a price point where I can finaly get it fully specced for about 65k here where i live. And also the fact that I no longer need extra space since my kids are 8 and 10 and can sit in the back of any cars without any issues of space (no child seats) I have waited 10+ years to finaly get a car that meets my look requirements and that the i4 m50 My wife has begged me for 5+ years to get a car that does NOT look like a family car and finaly i can please her!
Teslas are still the reference in terms of EVs when it comes to efficiency (though the chinese are about to pass them, if they haven't already). When the subject is proper cars, or proper driving experience, they are not even in the same league. You cannot pur Teslas, BMWs and other premium brands in the same sentence when talking about build quality, driving experience and so on. Tesla is not premium, period. For the Tesla fan boys saying BMW has a half backed product, this is actually their strategy: to convince car lovers to buy an EV because it is a proper nice looking BMW, and because it is a "normal" 4 series. BTW, the actual best car of the i4 line up is the edrive 40 ("it only" has 360 hp, but with a higher mileage), not the M50 (which is not tuned for efficiency, but for performance). Not to forget: you can say all you want about Teslas, but there is no way around the fact they are just ugly. They all look like ducks for me. All brands which tried to follow this aerodynamic EV design, have failed (including Mercedes). Last but not least: Tesla has been bleeding because it was artificially lowering their prices. Is this going on ?
I know plenty of people that have gone on road trips with their Tesla. They’ve had no problems so what is this guy talking about? Looks like I found another clueless UA-camr to block.
Tesla worried about BMW? If Tesla is worried about any competitor, it's most likely BYD, not BMW. "We're not ready to take these cars on road trips"......got to love that. Yes, the BMW is unusable as a long distance car while the Tesla can do long trips with ease. This BMW is too heavy, too inefficient, and too expensive to be remotely competitive with a Tesla 3. At some point BMW may figure out how to build a real EV, you know, one that doesn't have a drive shaft tunnel...but for now they are trying to sell warmed over IC vehicles, and it's just not working.
lol an extra $20k for a slightly better interior and a better sounding door close? No thanks. 😂 I have a brand new model 3 performance and the interior is stunning. No problems at all.
@@Dkro28make sure to drive the new M3P. I went from the previous generation and the new model is much better. It’s basically a different car and the build quality has improved a lot.
@@Johnmartins648I think Tesla did a great job with the new M3P and it's amazing value for money. However I'm in my i4 M50 already and as a BMW-lover I couldn't be happier with it.
A 20k price difference isnt even remotely comparable

100% agree.. It should have been Model 3 vs Polestar

20k more expensive, less milleage, slower in acceleation by a big margin and slower top speed... I don't know man, not comparable by any margin

Come on man I have multiple toys including a 2022 M5 Competition. No ev car compares to Tesla
The new model 3 highland is just above and beyond. And with the price difference it’s not even a question
If you gift me one, I can say which one is better 😊.

Tesla is definitely better BMW 30 K more and slower
I have both, tesla is way better !!!
I'm on the fence for trading in my 2019 Model 3 for an i4. Why do you consider the Tesla to be better?
I don’t believe you have both, if you are choosing Tesla, that is what you have. BMW is the clear winner, you’re just a Tesla fan boy
