Love this review and super helpful! I bought your program about a year ago, signed up for SNHU and now I graduate this June 2023. Would love to update you about this once I graduate 👩🎓 Take care! 🙌
I work as an advisor here. I have had students transfer in 90 credits and take more than 2 courses per term and graduated faster than a year. Depending on your program, what you transfer in, and pre-requisites/when courses are available (for instance the GEO program has some courses only available on certain terms)--you could graduate in a year or a bit less. The thing to keep in mind is that it's already an accelerated program--so those courses that are 8 weeks, you're still learning 16 weeks worth of material in. So it comes at you quickly. Tripling up (if it's possible with your circumstances) is going to be very hard. And it's online, so it's not like you can raise your hand and get immediate help (but we do have lots of scholastic resources). Plus, you could possibly get an AS on the way to getting your BS. So you could get multiple degrees in that same span of time. Or, for example, get a Intro to Computer Programming Certificate, then an AS in Computer Science, then a BS in Computer Science. All without breaking stride.
@@sheasavvy8155 I only work in undergraduate advising so I'm not sure about the grad space. I do take grad courses while working here and I only do one per term, but I imagine students could do more than 2 depending on what their major is/if they're working or just going to school full-time.
Thank you for this! If you're willing... shoot me an email (ryan@9monthgrad.com) Not sure if you'd be willing to do a video together, but I'd love to give you the chance to hype your school. Or at a minimum, I'd love to run some questions by you. I'm willing to pay for your time. I feel like your expertise on SNHU could add a lot of value to people who watch the channel.
I like that the terms are 8 weeks, doing 2-3 classes per term gets you at about 1 year, if you bring in Sophia/Study + something like the Google certs. It is also writing-heavy, rather than exam-heavy.
Yep, it's a solid option for a lot of people. If you can't find 100% self paced programs for your specific major, this is a solid alternative. And can still save you a few years.
I’m actually currently a CBE student at SNHU. Currently you can enroll to these programs through what they call “community partners” they are local programs that help with academic work and such. There are community partners all over the country. My community partner is in Boston when I’m from but we have people enrolled from California so it doesn’t really matter where geographically you are located
This is awesome! I've heard of this before but it's difficult to find info on. I've even tried to reach out to SNHU about this and their admission staff have no clue what I'm talking about. Would you be willing to email me and teach me how to do this? I'll gladly pay you for your time. (ryan@9monthgrad.com) Thanks so much for adding value here for the rest of us!
Hello, I just started at SNHU and pursuing a psychology degree. What path would you recommend to hack through the degree? Any help you can provide is appreciated.
Unfortunately, SNHU just isn't as hackable as it used to be. Some people will try to earn as many 3rd party credits as possible before they enroll, then transfer those in. Which can be risky, and sloppy. I'd reach out and see if there's a way for you to get into their "Competency Based" program. Which might be a long shot. They don't openly enroll people into these programs anymore. But I have heard of some students getting in through partner programs. You're welcome to shoot me an email if you'd like (ryan@9monthgrad.com). I'll try to help you find a solution.
Hey Ryan I am trying to decide between a long and a short term for different competency based programs. could u make a video on how to navigate this? Like what based for what type of people? or if not, do u have any suggestions?
For tuition... it's actually pretty similar between the two. It's kinda just a matter of how often each school charges tuition. But make sure to do that math so that you can compare tuition by year. That way you're getting the correct cost comparison.
Can you provide some of those better options for a business degree online? Im looking for somewhere that does not do proctored exams. That's the appeal of SNHU. But you mentioned better alternative exist.
Most decent programs are going to proctor their exams. There are a few that don't but they don't have the best track record of getting you into high level programs after the Bachelor's Degree. UMPI has "Your Pace" programs that are self paced and they don't proctor. But there are proctored options that are even faster. If you're serious about accelerating the degree, feel free to shoot me an email. I'll see if I can help you find a faster path (ryan@9monthgrad.com)
I am transferring in 2 years of gen Ed and I want a graphic design degree. Would you recommend this school for a graphic design degree? Or can you recommend a better one for a similar tuition and time frame? Thank you so much for your help!

SNHU is a solid school, just know that you'll have to do your final 2 years traditionally. But I don't know of any self paced Graphic Design programs so that may be the case wherever you go. But there may be some other majors that can open the same doors that can be done far more quickly. If you shoot me an email with a little more info, I'm happy to give more input. Ended up finding SNHU 100% online for indians. Had the program I wanted and I have been waiting for some approval.
