I'm currently a graduate student at SNHU and I went to college in NH for undergrad as well. They have a brick and mortar campus that I remember visiting in undergraduate, and they've made it accessible for someone like me who is going back to school in their late 30s by having an online program. I'm personally glad I chose SNHU for graduate school and plan on moving forward to a PhD. program after (hopefully). It's a wonderful school.

I completed an online graduate degree with SNHU and found challenging yet very rewarding, as I'd want. I now have worked there as an online instructor for about five years and really have no regrets. I know remote is not for everyone, but I hear the campus is nice and offers many programs through the traditional method of teaching. I also hear New Hampshire is very cold this time of year. But I do want to visit the campus one day to check it out.

I agree that the lack of a physical book is an issue. But I can't say that the @SNHU experience is good for autistic students due to their speech codes. I haven't even started my first class yet, I disagreed with their student conduct code saying it is unacceptable and how. As a paralegal who earned a scotus blog petition of the day, and have out performed top attorneys, they should be thanking me. Instead they proceed to file a disciplinary action against me. They say a legal brief caused a disruption in a university function. This is a really terrible university-especially for people on the spectrum.

I just registered to SNHU first term, their $320 tuition per credit hour is really worth it. They have very active and excited academic councellor. Then you can draft your work before submitting for unlimited times, then they have 24/7 tutoring for unlimited times too. If you take online tutoring such as wyzant, they will easily charged $40-50 per hour. Then you have academic coach, peer coaching, and plenty of webinar too. So I conclude their tuition already the cheapest per credit hour; plus all of their academic support, then SNHU (private, bigger institution) is one of the best hackable college, besides UMPI (public, smaller one). I registered to both to test them out.

Just finished (literaly, JUST!) my undergraduate degree last week at SNHU and loved the experience. Keep one thing in mind: if you need baby sitting, online is not for you! Yes, online, you are pretty much on your own BUT !!! There's plenty of material, resources and human help if you need it...but the heavy lifting has to be done by you. Yes, once you finish your first class, you pretty much mastered the format...all classes follow the same structure, just different topics. Warning: "Online" doesn't mean free ride! It means a lot of work, reading and researching by yourself (with the always helping online hand of your Instructor...If you work and are well structured, this college is superb in any way possible! I took 3 Science classes that did nothing to do with my cxComputing Science degree, but you'd get the same "strange" classes attending to other school)...I guess they try to give you some rest from too technical classes. 9 out of 10 my recommendation!

It is regionally accredited, which is important (stay away from schools that are only nationally accredited, like University of the People), but there are better schools :) Mostly because it’s a for-profit. First of all, GOOD FOR YOU! That is awesome that you’re learning by doing. Second, this is an excellent question, because you are very right that formal education isn’t always pragmatic 😅 I recommend taking some classes on Study.com, like Small Business Management, and seeing whether the information is helpful to you or not. You have plenty of free elective space in a degree like business, so you could take 5-10 classes before they stop counting toward graduation. :) Give yourself a less expensive and committal trial run to see if it provides enough value to you to justify the ROI. If it doesn’t but you still want to check the box on a degree, you could do something at UMPI for $6k as opposed to the $12k+ SNHU will cost.

When you are in a class and may have trouble understanding your subject are the professors willing to extend help as far as zoom, google video, etc?

      I hope I can answer.
I am currently an SNHU online student and I have nothing but great things to say about this school. If you're having any sort of trouble understanding there is live tutoring and other resources to help and all of my professors have been able to answer my questions in less than 24 hours. I have used all of the resources A LOT and for the first time since being in college and multiple transfers I have a 4.0 thanks to their help.
As far as testing goes I have only had one class so far that has had quizzes no test. The quizzes that I have had are done through the digital textbook and they are not proctored and I am given multiple chances to get the answer right. I have heard that tests are really not done at SNHU but they make up for it with their HEFTY projects.
The way SNHU terms are set up you're only able to take two classes per term. The term lasts eight weeks and there are six terms in a year for undergraduates. This system is much better for me than taking 5 classes over semester and working
In all I can say that I've had the best time at snhu and felt like I have mattered more then I have any of my other traditional universities

      - they aren’t professors. They are part timers, many do not work in the industry of which you’re interested, they aren’t certified teachers either. I’ve looked at few up on LinkedIn. Depends on who it is, some help and some are just there for the paycheck and it shows. Some will actually grade your work and others will give you a perfect score on everything you turn in.
      - my major has zero tests, just projects. I cant speak for all majors.
      - I think you can take up to 2 at a time? Not sure. I do 1 because I work full time and have a 4 year old.

The college was founded as a business school for accounting and secretarial education during the great depression. It expanded over the years. New Hampshire College was the name. When it became a University they changed the name so it did not get confused with the State Flagship college the University of New Hampshire. SNHU it's always been a smaller school even now they are less than 4k students on campus. It's almost two schools in one depending if go on campus or online, depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. Pretty good school love everything about this school. SNHU is like a
