    This really works! I did it back in the 80's. I did my Bachelor's through Thomas Edison State U. It took me a little longer (about 2 years) because I lived abroad and had to wait for international mail. And, yes, you can get a quality education this way. When I went on to Grad School, I was well-prepared, and made the dean's list. Other colleges to consider: Liberty U., and Colorado Christian U. both allow competency based education for about 75% of a degree.

    Great video! I like that the introduction included young learners that completed the accelerated program and that you included the schools that you like. Also, you look like you lost weight compared to the videos you have in your degree hacking program. Whatever you’re doing, keep up the great work! I appreciate the information.

    I was originally looking at Excelsior and Thomas Edison because I have 65 credits from an associate of science from 30 years ago from a regionally accredited college. I know they won't take all of my credits. I was thinking of taking CLEP/Sophia to get it up to 113 credits. But now I am thinking WGU would be better using your method. What happens if you don't pass an exam at WGU? Do they let you retake it? What happens if you don't pass it twice? You definitely have my interest. Thanks for sharing!

    hey,
    my friend is an architect , he is also a self taught programmer , but he doesn't have a degree and he needs one to immigrate, studying online sounds perfect fit for his schedule, but yes we are short on cash and he needs an accredit degree to immigrate , sadly architect evaluation takes way longer and more expensive so he is considering taking an online degree but must be accredit by CANADA ( ideally wes ), is it really possible to fast past through out all that in 3-6 months ?

      Yes, you can graduate from Capella in under a year with their Flex Path programs. I will say, I personally don't love Capella, but they do have one of the only psychology majors that's "Hackable" so I do prefer them for psychology. But for most other majors, there are other schools I like more. Hope this helps!

    Hi! I’m interested in doing an accelerated neuroscience degree. The main thing that deters me from school is the idea of being bound to a classroom. For labs and whatnot I would be okay with going in person. Is there anyway to jump straight into my bachelors degree, or should I do an accelerated A.A. degree- then transfer into a university?

    There is something that is quite bothering me a little. In what way do I test out classes? Do I have to be enrolled or not? Because I heard that colleges make you pay a small amount for testing out classes if you are enrolled. I don't know if that's true, but I don't know. I just wanted to be sure when you have time, of course. Maybe you can talk about that in your next video? I just want to help you out, that's all.

      As for Liberty University, the process is a little different. They accept 3 years of credits toward a Bachelor's Degree from CLEP, Straighterline, Sophia.org, Study.com, etc. But those 3rd party testing services usually don't have the correct classes to fulfill Master's Degree requirements.

    I contacted TESU, asking for Competency Based Program. The response I got was:
    "The BS in Healthcare Management program is offered completely online and you can earn this degree entirely through the University's online and distance learning courses. Although, I do want to bring this to your attention, that this degree program can not be completed just with TECEP options, you will be required to take few online courses. We do offer terms every month and you can register from 3-15 credits in each term. Each term is 12-weeks long and you will be required to complete your coursework within this timeline."
    Ryan can you educate me if this is the strategy you are teaching us or not?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Рік тому +4

      I prefer choosing schools that are 100% competency based. But TESU is a great option if you're wanting to earn most of your credits through CLEP, Sophia.org, Straighterline, Study.com, etc. You can earn most of your TESU degree by transferring these 3rd party exams over to the school... Then completing as many TECEP exams as they'll allow. By the end, you should only need to take a few classes through their "traditional" online program.
      Hope this helps. I do offer free consultations if you'd like help mapping out a strategy. Shoot me an email at ryan@9monthgrad.com if you'd like to chat.

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Рік тому +1

      Pros and Cons. They are super lax with their Transfer Credit policy. So if you have a lot of previous credits you can usually get them transferred without losing much. As for Degree Hacking... Most of the "Hacking" will have to be done through 3rd party resources like CLEP, Sophia.org, Study.com, etc. .. Then transferred over. It's a different process, and is a good fit for some people. I prefer schools that let you test out of all your classes through their school, without the need for 3rd party services.
      All in all, they are a good fit for some. But if you're starting from scratch there are better options.

      The strategy would be a little different. I think Liberty University has an Aviation Management program that allows for 75% of the degree to be transferred. So you'd hack the first 3 years through 3rd party exams like CLEP, Sophia, and Study.com.. then do the last year as a traditional online student.
      It's definitely sloppier than the Competency Based programs but with Aviation, that's just not an option.

    Are there any where you can get an engineering degree?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Рік тому +2

      Nope, I don't know of any "Hackable" engineering degrees. But you can accelerate a Bachelor's Degree and then jump into an Engineering Master's program. That would still save you a few years.

      I love their high school. But their college is not Regionally Accredited. That's a deal breaker for me.

    Are any of these online schools diploma mills?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  Рік тому +2

      Make sure you look for schools that are Regionally Accredited. That's the key to avoiding Diploma Mills. There are definitely a lot of low value online schools... But there are also some very good ones.
      Feel free to shoot me an email and tell me more about your situation. I'm happy to give advice... (ryan@9monthgrad.com)

      I was so broke going back to school that the FAFSA part was easy. But I've dealt with scholarships a lot as well. In the end, I paid about $200 out of pocket for my Bachelor's Degree.

      I started old school with the Ultimate Scholarship Book, then trickled into some of the main directory sites. I'm also a big fan of hitting up local community colleges in your area and getting resources for local scholarships.
