These are some pretty good TV stunts (as well as the actors getting in there and doing their part). The effects hold up really well and the kill ratio is high for a show that kids could watch. Definitely more deadly than A-Team battles.
Some parts of this show scared the **** out of me as a kid, young people don't understand how big both miniseries were back in the 80s, this was game of thrones level stuff when it came out. I'm honestly shocked there was never a toyline of this back then, it would've been huge. This show was the talk of the playground for weeks, if not months growing up.
Was there ever originally A Team toys? I feel like after Star Wars all the movies whether they were for children or not but the same thing was not true of television. If it wasn't specifically aimed at children it didn't get action figures made
@@alexfranz817 There was a line of A-Team toys, with large doll sized figures and 3 3/4 inch figures, they even had a van for the smaller figures. Heck, even "The Love Boat" got a toyline.
@@MasterJediDude I reckon he hid most of the stunts himself and the fight scenes, for example the horse riding scene and the parachute scene both of those were badass. Marc Singer would of made an excellent stuntman and fight choreographer he wasn’t afraid of taking risks or getting hurt. The insurance policy at WB was really high at the time, but in todays film industry actors would not be allowed to do dangerous stunts.
@MrCantStopTheRobot , pretty good. The bad guys were excellent shots. Some did a study and found that they were far better than guys in the US military. I wonder what Galactic Empire's stormtroopers the original post was talking about?
This was a cool show. As someone who was a fan of the original Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, & the original Star Wars this show was pretty decent even if all I remember were the ugly horror elements of it with the lizard people. I liked how they mixed more modern weaponry like the AR-15s with the Star Wars weaponry together.
I was really invested in the resolution of this story. I was 13 and messed with my head, I wanted them lizards dead. 1985-86 was a great time for TV but other than that it was shit. Thanks for the video.
That was awesome! I'm just waiting patiently for you to upload V The Series that your going to do it for us that you're going to buy it on DVD. I uploaded most of the time on TikTok.
At the end of the opening sequence of the series, the editor decided to feature this clip. For one magical season, the Iguana Tea-bag manoeuvre was a weekly event!
Ever wonder in scenes like this and Star Wars they didn’t have cameras in the ships to validate who was in there - I mean they built an intergalactic space craft 😂
You'd think that an advanced civilization would have some soldiers who can aim and shoot better than us humans, but those lizard soldiers aim as bad as the Star Wars Stormtroopers. 🔫
Thankfully, every time Earth is invaded by aliens with superior technology in every movie and show the aliens either are completely reliant and controlled by a mothership or have a fatal weakness to Earth's conditions. If a technologically superior alien race ever arrived with their military structured like our, we'd be done for.
Why are they fighting with ray guns or lazer guns when bullets are faster You can see the ray travel towards its target but bullets travel to fast too bee seen obviously humans are more technologically advanced than the visitors
Ordinary bullets couldn't penetrate the Visitor's reptilian skin. Armour-piercing bullets that Michael Ironside's character brought along could, which is why some of the characters here have guns, but they didn't have many of them. So most of Donovan's group used the laser pistols that Martin provided.
I was in my late teens early 20s when this came out. It was entertaining and also could be seen as a social commentary on Reagan era politics of conformity etc.
My god I wish I knew how to work the VCR back then. The memories of events in the show are spotty, but the memories of the hotties will never be forgotten.
Another great series from the 80s. I remember we were glued to the TV to watch this amazing SciFi mini series about Aliens visit earth. Wonderful series. I wish the rest of the series was as crystal clear as the two part pilot episodes. It was left unfinished at the end of the series. It would have been great. The remake was ok but again no end. Unfinished.🤔😠☹️🤫👍🇭🇲🦘✌️
Watched this as a teen and even as adult the sound of those laser pistols is still god damned awesome. This was such a good show considering the time.
Just your typical high tension wire / slinky Foley sound effect. Some of it was reversed / slowed for things like the fighter craft.
@@nikushim6665 Oh I know but the sound still sends me back to being a sci fi mad teen 🙂
For me i was about ten year old when this dropped on tv. I used to try and build their guns out of Lego as a kid.
@@richardfarish3634 Yes! you get it!
When CGI was rough, but the aliens could still be pretty as human women LOL
That is peak 80's TV right there.
“It’s an older code sir, but it checks out. I was about to clear them. Should I hold them? “
“No, leave them to me. I will deal with them myself”
"As you wish, my Lord. Carry on."
Hey now. That was totally different. Totally. Shuttle Tydirium is not the same as tanker shuttle.
@@BrianMLucas yeah. It is not like they would have ripped off that scene or anything like that😏
" I find your lack of faith disturbing!"😂
Didn't realize that was a rip-off until years later. I was so slow.
I remember watching this series when I was in high school. Brings back a lot of memories.

Martin and Mike Donovan the best friendship in V, the chemistry between Frank Ashmore and Marc Singer is really good to see.
I remember a young Robert Englund on this series as Willy the reptilian who befriended the resistance.
Now this, this takes me back. Thank you very much for the trip down memory lane. 👍👍👍👍

There were the trading cards. I had a bunch of them (but I think it was more from the short lived series than miniseries)
@@tb7771 I remember having that. The face came off and there was a lizard head underneath. It was pretty awesome.
Marc Singer, the original Tea Bagger
I saw that and was thinking of how they explained this scene to both Marc Singer and the stunt guy. But to his credit, Marc did the stunt himself.

I see where the lizard aliens train their troopers to shoot, the same place the Galactic Empire does with their storm troopers.
They're just starstruck by going up against Our Heroes.
It’s outsourced to a 3rd party, they train loads of different evil space/faring clients, badly.
I guess you never watched "Star Wars - A New Hope".
@@gregwasserman2635 kind of a goofy name for a movie. Is it good though?

thanks for whoever uploaded this. it seemed a mix between the horror of ww2 occupation and scifi. they certainly achieved that.
I remember playing V at recess in the 4th grade. Silly memories
Me too😂
The good old days...Here in Sweden V was aired i think 8 o clock in the evening on saturdays!
I used to watch it with my mother and father!
Same in Gemany. My father was totally into it. Miss him very much

Marc singer posing while firing is phenomenal
Marc's cross arm shots are cool! 😎
I used to do that while playing...🤣
He always had a cool sense of style, whether fighting aliens with a pistol or swinging a sword as the Beastmaster.
This show was not cheap, especially for TV. Damn good production values.
This show had one of the best aesthetics in scifi. The iconic orange uniforms, the gold helmets, and of course those lasers. Top notch.
Set design was amazing. I loved those ships as a kid.
The old "Tojan Horse" tactic; used on the series finale of Battlestar Galactica (the orginal series)
What was that episode called?
Thanks
The movie "Troy" must have copied the same tactic 😮
They're called "The Classics" for a reason.
2:16. "railing kill!!!!"
Remember watching the alien eat the rodent the first time? Pepperidge Farm Remembers
THANK YOU 🙏😊🙏 !!!!!!!!!
I grew up in this era!! Why haven't I ever seen this awesome shit!!!
LOVED this show as a kid, read alot of the books too!
I loved the design of these shuttles.

STILL AWESOME! 💥💥💥💥
Great series the ending could have been better
I am reliving my childhood.
1:16 Freddy Krueger is here !
I finally got to rewatch this, it's on Plex
Is it me or are the machine guns way more effective than the laser guns lol
It is quite obvious:) BTW they don't use lasers (the speed of a laser is 300.000 km/s). Probably "plasma guns".
Yeah, laser guns don't do the "spray and pray" shootin' style.
I knew I recognized Robert Englund in this. Not as a kid in the 80's but now totally.
For the time, the special effects were good. I used to want one of those guns so bad.
I find it funny how they give the one black guy an M16 but they give everyone else lasers
My favorit cast.....
good idea to brush up on your reptile fighting skills for the coming days.
Late 70's, early 80's TV at it's finest.
1:40 - Admiral Paris? When did Starfleet reassign you out here?
Nice tea bag at 2:00... lol

Just going to say the same😮
"Don't let them escape!" Dude still didnt get it.
"Well, were gonna close this little super market down."
A TV classic!
"The man who played Freddy Kruger everyone!"
What show/movie is this from?
It's in the video's title.
Add Diana to the mix I am ready.
The reptilians eating the rats alive is one of the most hideous scenes ever. 😮😮😮
1:58 "I will knock the alien unconscious with my balls of steel!"
Why did Mike tear off the throat-mic so quickly? Seems a waste to just toss it.
I always thought that too
You can build an interplanetary space ship, but are still using hand written log books.

Didn't really get into V, do remember the hamster getting eaten 😂😂
Yeeees❤!!
3:04 the bolt on the M16 is open, he's out of ammo.
THAT'S what you find unrealistic about this scene?
I’d be worried if he actually had ammo in the gun in the first place. We don’t need another alec Baldwin on set.
When you only know the bad guys by the fact that they wear head protection...
Wasn't there an episode where someone got shot by a laser and turned into one of the lizard ppl?
"Was a big Martin fan! Too bad he died when the show went to series 😞!"
at 1:16 is that Robert Englund?
❤❤

Back when tv was worth a dame
They sound the same as Transformer Autobots when they speak. Lol
Never understood why they kept their human disguises on after being compromised to the world?
Why was Harmony even there? Shes not a fighter.
Funny how us less advanced earthlings were capable of defeating a highly advanced civilization with hand to hand combat and less advanced firearms
....👀
Those synth drums on the soundtrack….doof.. doof doof
So these are humans disguising themselves as aliens disguising themselves as humans?
Yes.
Wonder who would win in a shootout...these lizards vs. stormtroopers
