Nah the way he pretty much did a "Get over here" with the force, kabobbed and beheaded those two was legit dirty lol
Someone plays mortal combat.
and after seeing the latest episode when you get the POV from inside the helmet and realise how little Qimir can see....
Don't worry, the dark side of the force can help him to sense his surrounding
A force user does not need to see. Remember Luke and the training droid on the Falcon? Same thing.
I love how he’s fighting like a samurai
Yeah, my favorite samurai move is headbutting a blade!
what samurai have you even seen force pull someone onto an already pierced through blade then cut not one but 2 heads off with one swing??😂
The samurai Sasaki fought like that during the osang war
These are the types of lightsaber fights that should have been in the sequels. No one would have bitched with this choreography
You have to realize that the age of the Jedi was on brink of extinction over and over again thus those having the lack of training and experience to fight like they did before if you pay attention throughout all the films beside Vader and fallen Jedi in Canon it was a dead art, that's why in the war council of New Hope Imperial officers called it a dead religion and Vader was the only remnant of that remain
@@pumpkinkingca2010 I understand the lack of fight choreography in the OT given that lightsaber fighting was a lost art, however ST doesn’t get that leeway. Luke studied for years after the OT, he had students, a school, he was training Leia. He knew of the other forms. Ben Solo would have know something lore than swing and stab. No real excuse about the sequel trilogy fight choreography.
God I love that headbutt with the cortosis helmet lol
This is one of if not the best live action lightsaber fight since the prequels
@@austindeivert1198 absolutely agree. His head butting and the way he used his wrist cortosis band made it such a feral and brutal fight. It’s like watching someone who only ever learned Karate fight a full fledged MMA fighter. He completely outclassed them.

They were trying to go for reality which is true. A human would be tired from wielding an and swinging. But Yk Star Wars. Still choreography was good, show is still ass
That's a really nice Sith Lord design. It just screams to throw hands.
legend has it the fight choreographer broke his back during production of the acolyte
because of the strain of carrying the entire series
If this was good choreography, I would buy that. This isn't so I highly doubt he was capable of that.
It looks shit, just like the rest of the show. Film it in the dark, hide behind trees and make sure you make a quick cut every 2 seconds to not show how terrible the choreography is.

I mean, compared to EVERYTHING DISNEY PRODUCED SINCE 2012... The guy did his best with what he had. I'm amazed he was able to survive in the Chernobyl-grade toxicity that must have been working for these people long enough to produce an enjoyable fight scene that actually resembles Star Wars. 🤣
this is good... not darthmaul vs quigon and obi or anakin vs obi; but id say this is good... Yeah, the only redeeming quality of the show unfortunately.
The power of one, the power of two, the power of many trees blocking my view.......

This was hilarious lmao
That was the point.😂

0:47 NAHH that turning off lightsaber mid-duel was FOUL
That's a forbidden lightsaber technique called Trakata. As you said, Jedi didn't use it because it was dishonourable and foul play.
i dont think any blades turn off, there is a sound effect but they're all still on,
Once he turned off his they hesitated giving time to recompose and launch a counter attack @sike3000
I didnt even notice that 1st watch that's insane
You can hear the lightsaber shut off sound he definitely is using the forbidden technique
Jecki is a Certified Legend.
She dead, so no.
She *was*
Love Sol he’s quickly becoming one of my favourite Jedi you just know he’s got darkness in him but also so much wisdom and caring.
Me to he gives off serious qui gon vibes
Ik it would never happen but I kinda wish he ended qimir then and there. Qimir just killed his padawan and he was still able to resist revenge
@@austindeivert1198 💯%
The fact that he was able to defeat Jedi masters with ease like pulling a guy who is engaged in a fight into a light saber
Well to be fair, these Jedi masters are weak since they live in a peaceful time for a long time and aren't even used to fighting against a Sith. They're even surprised that the enemy is using their weapon against them lol.
@@holyflame2The only Master there is Sol. The rest were Jedi Knights and one Padawan Jecki.

Jecki as only a Padawan was so skilled, shame she got killed off here she would have had a lot of potential
R.i.p bozo
Not sure it works though because the writers haven't established why Jecki is so much better of a lightsaber duelist than the 5 knights who got one shotted before she easily lasted full minutes clashing with Smilo on her own. They've actually kind of characterized her as the more bookish Hermione type to this point than a vicious brawler
@@a_rapidly_deflating_mattress it’s not about your title it’s about your skill level everyone knows that by now, you can’t paint every padawan the same just like in real life some people are naturally better gifted at things than even the most experienced
@@buckseyboy OK well then it's the writers' job to explain to us prior to this fight that she's not a regular padawan and is actually a wunderkind duelist just waiting for her shot. Instead the only characterization of note that we got is that she's crushing on Occupational Health and Safety Administration. It's just bad writing dude
ikr, the only padwan that I can think of right now who is better than her is Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars
Finally they show a kid jedi knight prodigy who's cunningly wield a lightsaber like Jecki since young Ahsoka. Sadly she died and let her rage consume it while approaching Qimir.
Does it have to be _rage_ that explains why she lost? Could it just be that she was outmatched in lightsaber combat?
That Jedi kebab move was pretty sick
Why couldn't we have these kind of Saber duels in the sequels? :O
I'd argue the Snoke Throne Room fight against the Praetorian Guard was up there with Prequels fights. And the final Kylo Ren vs. Rey fight on the Death Star. The Anakin vs Count Dooku fight in the Prequels was the weakest Prequels fight. It was largely extreme closeups of Anakin's and Dooku's faces while we see the light from their lightsabers but we can't see them swinging them.
Ikr! But I did really like the battle in Snoke’s Throne Room against the guards.
@@user-ku7jn6fc6g No...not in the slightest...look at the throne scene slowly again and you'll see that the choreography was all over the place. Blades not connecting with anything/anyone, Guards falling over for no reason or twirling uselessly in the background.

I’m so proud of Jeki. She had a true warriors death. She fought him better than everyone, including Sol. This episode was so bittersweet.

Jecki really held her own against Qimir though.
Why tf is the padawan little girl better than all the fully trained jedis?
Its like when Obi Wan as a padawan killed a Sith Lord
@@drointhewind480 Obi-Wan was only a Padawan by title. Qui-Gon told the council that Obi-Wan was ready to be a Knight before they went to Naboo and faced maul.
bc sh'es good
she isn't, he finds her interesting and she's more bold thn the rest, so he is willing to let her show him all of her power. The older Jedi are too controlled, they are not as engaging, so he kills them quickly. I love Jecki, she and Sol are the best two characters in any of these shows, but it's pretty clear to me from his words and attitude that she didn't make hm work THAT hard
PLus from what Vernstra was saying in the next episode, it sounds like aside from Sol, these Jedi were pretty weak. A strong apprentice on her best day putting up a better fight than a Knight or Master who wasn't specialized in fighting could totally happen. Ahsoka at 17 would probably beat most of the pre war Order
This choreography is amazing
The story is still sh*t tho
Yeah I don't think it tops the phantom menance lightsaber duel though like some people were saying.
@@willwolf8436 for sure this is way better than maul vs obi and qui gon, if we only talk about the choreography
@@talnomix3164 I have to disagree, this one gets constantly interrupted by crappy dialogue and has a lot of silly moments where they forget that they're holding weapons or decide to run away even though they just beat their opponent like they're in some horror movie. It's definitely the best choreography we got from Disney SW so far but it doesn't beat the prequel fights
@@normaluser333 Duel of thr fates on the other hand was interrupted by strange montage decision and average camera work. I still remember when Obi Wan tried to something weird with his head which shouldn't have happened. Vader vs Obi Wan from prequels is better. Duel of the fates isn't.
@talnomix3164 at least in Phantom menace it's not dark as hell like here.
Qimir has scars in his back because he is hard carrying this show.
Got to give them credit for this ... very very well done
I appreciate where this is going. It always seems that every force sensitive person wants to be a Jedi Knight, but some don’t and others want to use the force as they see fit. Not just the Sith.
Dang, the way he force pulled the other Jedi into the already pierced one is so damn cool.
Love it! Sith kicking butt is dope
The Fact that he struggled with her speaks volumes
people are shitting on her for doing well as a padawan like obi wan didnt "kill" maul as a padawan and his master died
I mean he really didn't. The moment she actually did any damage to him he diced her up. It felt like he was playing with his food, which fits the sadistic personality the guy has.
Love the fight and the fact it included Cortosis from legends in his helmet, still shame that it’s connected to a horrendous story.
Disney has a big issue with fights. A lot of the fighters stand around and are often either just waiting to get attacked, not aiming at the person but aiming at their weapon, or just people looking busy while you main part distracts you from it
1:50 1:52 1:52 1:52 1:52 1:52 The feet movement like old king fu movies🤯🔥🔥🔥
Suddenly every light skin actor in the world is starring in every show
just here learning that this person was based on Elden Ring's popular player "Let me solo her"😂😂
good thing 5 of them were standing there to face the moth while the 10 year old 1v1 the villain
Jecki was a REAL one. She went head first and fought him on a stalemate idc how she was disrespected towards the end she went out like a G! Im loving this direction - kill off characters even though they seem significant in the storyline. And whew this villain is SPICY!!!
Cool thing is Qimir’s armour is made of cortosis, hence why he could block lightsaber blades and short them out by headbutting or punching them. Rare Disney W, making cortosis canon. Also this lightsaber choreography and Qimir making use of Tràkata at 0:47, fantastic stuff. The sequel could have used this.
Cortosis has been canon for over a decade already
this qimir might be the apprentice of plaguies or he might even be young palpatine
few seconds for Mace Windu
Exactly the kinda fights i want too see in starwars
One time I wanna see it in reverse where a Jedi Master does this lol
You can tell that Lord Qimir's/Manny Jacinto's stunt double is a martial artist and has probably handled a sword.
it's way more impressive when you realize that he is a very athletic person with a background in dancing and did most of it himself. he started with a solid foundation and took full advantage of getting to be in Star Wars
This choreography is better than the one from Revenge of the Sith. Changes my mind
This episode was unexpectedly brutal
The actress for Osha is so bad. She has literally one face the whole time
black face? lol
look at how she moves, how she reacts as each sister. OSHA is trying very hard to stay under control, and it shows. Look at Mae, there's a lot more emotion coming through
Also watch Hunger Games, the skill is there. We don't judge Hayden's ability based on AotC
i think this choreography is on par if not better than rots. the fight looks brutal, and it doesn't looks like they're just aiming for each other's swords like in the prequels. if anything, only the Jedi in this episode were fighting that way, while the Sith was only going for killing swings which is exactly how i would think a fight with egotistical Jedi that haven't been in an actual duel before vs a bloodthirsty Sith would go. that being said, it doesn't save the show from having awful storytelling
Ahreed
Yeah, no, although absurd, prequel were much more lore accurate and epic due to the quick movements, this one is probably the best since disney took over.
Yeah, that was my main criticism of the lightsaber choreography of Nick Gillard in the Prequels. He focused TOO MUCH on the lightsabers and not enough on the wielders. A lot of Prequels battles look like they're aiming for each other's sabers instead of trying to hit their opponent. Thid battle took the best of the Prequels era fights and combined it with the weightiness and deliberate nature of Originals and Sequels fights. The Originals and Sequels fights made them feel like they're actually aiming for their opponent, but also made the lightsabers seem too heavy and clunky. Like they're wielding a heavy-ass Claymore or something. I think this fight and the Ahsoka fights in my opinion are the best mix. The agility and athleticism mixed with actually going for your opponent instead of showing off how deftly you can spin your sword.
Not even close to anakin vs obi💀
😂
Why show scenes that’s not part of the actual scene. The bugs that attack them was way before they meet him.
I know people have been poo-pooing this series but this episode went into turbo drive! Well done!
Wow look at all the colors of the lightsabers! So cute
I see trees that get cut just say fuck you to gravity and fall up 😂 or when half the fight is blocked by the forrest. Great job 🤣🤡🤣🤡
Oh yeah how did they fall up? Wacky
@@TheRoadToArea51qimir was using the force to push them up like “yeah this’ll look fucking sick” (production wise it was a weird compromise they had to do to bring a bit more light to the scene using the burns on the trees while keeping the set clear for the fight)

Probably so Disney doesn't take the video down lol
Idk why alot of people are hating the lightsaber combat. The dialogue, yeah maybe, but i personally like the lightsaber combat. If i was held at gun point and was given either to watch sequels or acolyte lightsaber fights, I'd choose acolyte tbh.
the vfx look like a fan film with no budget lol
I don't see any beautiful choreography here, I don't know why people praise it so much. Guys, I advise you to watch Ahsoka vs Maul fight with motion capture actors (Lauren Mary Kim and Ray Park) or Ahsoka's battle against Anakin in her series - this is really beautiful and well-practiced choreography, and not accelerated sword twists like in Acolyte.
So that’s how Jason got to the bad place.
Love the reference to Ahsoka (in the Mandalorian) with the cut trees 🥶 wonder if anyone noticed the similarity lol 😮💨
You mean how they said fuck you to gravity and fell up? These people are so terrible at making a TV show 😂
@@zachschendt7201bro discovered the force yesterday
Love the reference to ANH when it showed a lightsaber. There are lightsabers in ANH, therefore this scene is a reference. Trust me, I know things.
Clone War era Jedi would have benefitted from forearm bracers made of Beskar. At the time, when Satine was in charge, I don’t thing it would have been that hard. Once they stopped being pacifists, pretty hard, but there was a good couple of years when they could have done it. When Din briefly fought Asoka, he only ever blocked with his forearms. They’re not offensive, so wouldn’t offend the Jedi sensibilities, and you can’t be disarmed of them, unless you cut off an upper arm. Build in a communicator / holoprojector, since they seem to drop them a lot. Mandoloreans have their funky rope thing that ties people up with space magic. Jedi have a grappling hook on their ropes. If there’s room, maybe throw in a medical scanner, and a homing beacon that turns on with the life signs of the Jedi wearing the bracers cross certain thresholds.
If you want to get REALLY freaky… build a stun gun into one, and a light saber into the other. It would more like Wolverine’s claws than a sword. Both Maul and Dooku intentionally chose non-standard weapons specifically because Jedi aren’t really trained to combat them.
As impressive as people are making this out to be remembered the Sith grew stronger every generation this guy is nothing someone like Dooku, not even in the same conversation as Vader or Palpatine
the Sith grew stronger, but that's not a linear thing. there are so many ways to be strong with the dark side. I say he has a very real shot against Dooku or Vader, and an outside chance against Sidious on Qimir's very best day.
The Sith getting stronger with every generation does not mean that each Sith beats all of the earlier ones in every situation. This dude very clearly trained to specifically kill Jedi with his own blades, he would do well against former Jedi, and anyone who leaned on similar skills. even Sidious, this guy might have a chance because Sidious is powerful as hell, but personal combat is not his focus
Now obviously if they were hunting him, he would die because they would send armies and superweapons
0:50 and this is the renown sith move - jedi kebabs
Straight menace this guy
Green saber: Jedi council member
Blue saber: Peacekeepr
Yellow saber: These are like the scholars they know the most about the force think of them as the ravenclaws of the jedis
And the rainbow 🏳️🌈 saber ?
@speedy_comet It’s actually,
Green: Jedi Consular (diplomatic and strong in the force)
Blue: Jedi Guardian (skilled in lightsaber combat)
Yellow: Jedi Sentinel (Typically guardians of the Jedi temple )
Green was not reserved for members of the council. Ki-Adi Mundi and Obi-Wan were on the council and had blue lightsabers. The color of a Jedi’s kyber crystal was based on their personality and their connection with the force. Kind of like in Harry Potter the wand chooses the wizard, the crystal choses the Jedi

Easily one of the best Star Wars fights. Executed with finesse. Nicely done.
This show's choreography is actually very good. It's a shame.
I like this duel. but honestly there were so many flaws like when the two Jedi get their lightsaber turned off and do absolutely NOTHING no force moves or attempt to save Yord from getting sliced. No they waited for their lightsabers to reactivate and get instantly killed. Down right silly and disrespectful.
I could count on my hand every lightsaber duel we've ever seen in a movie or show that was genuinely good, plus didn't have any silly or nonsensical moments. btw lost my hand in an industrial accident.
0:48 he used a forbidden technique amongst the sith and jedi called trakata, it is used by turning off the lightsaber mid fight then turning it back on to trick the enemies

Guys fighting blind remember that fact now 😂
Those lightsabers shut off for a moment there. Was that Cortosis?
Edit: Yep, that’s Cortosis.
probably the best scene in the entire series, one of my favorite lightsaber duels now as well, alot of the saber fights are them aimlessly flailing their glowsticks around, this fight is definitely not that, every single hit is intentional, i love it, though the series is kinda mid, hopefully it gets better, but we'll see, this is my own opinion, but i honestly think this fight matches up to some of the fights in the prequels, the choreography is amazing
That (damn awesome) fight shows what pontential this series had. It shows how awesome it could be. Sadly...there are quite a lot of idiots involved. Thus we can't have nice things.

I'm impressed that the Sith Master is revealed to once again adhere to the Rule of Two: Manny Jacinto and His Jaw.
Still not sure what sort of armor/tech(nique) he has that can short out a lightsaber, anyone know?
It's the helmet and bracer on his left arm, not a technique.
They should be made from cortosis...there are a number of lightsabre resistant materials that have been introduced into Star Wars lore over the years, and cortosis is the only one that shorts out lightsabres.
not a huge fan of the series but I've been rewatching the fight scenes and they are dope

Qimir is quite possibly Darth Plageuis' master. Just a theory or a possibility.
i think hes tenebrous' apprentice
Plaugeis's master was a Bith named Darth Tenebrous. Maybe Qimir was his master.
Legends and Canon are different. Maybe Qimir is Tenebrous, who knows
All depends on how far back the show is set, since the answer ranges from a vague hundred to more than. Teneborous and Plageus were from fairly long lived species, so where Qimir fits in who knows. Alternatively Qimir could be pulling a non-canon move and searching for an apprentice while he himself is apprenticed, which has precedent in legends anyways. Or of course, he could just be from some dark offshoot force sect that could’ve existed who knows where/when; after all, dathomirians are apparently extra-galactic now, so who the hell knows.
@@swrodgon the show is set at least 100 years before phantom menace according to Wiki. Besides, Sith Succession requires the student to kill the master.

I dislike the disabling the sabers. If this was around people would use it. Then again there is no hk47 otherwise all jedi would die
It's official Lightsabers have been NERFED by 98%
I wondered why 2 jedi would just stand there while there sabers were busted but then i remembered its pointless yo question anything when you have horrible writers
Did he just head butt a light saber dope.
My guess is Cortosis… it’s an extremely rare metal that shorts out lightsabers on contact, happened to Vader at some point in the comics and his lightsaber was out of action for several minutes
I’ll give credit where it’s due, the choreography of this fight is incredible, but the story and characters are so bland and predictable. Lore, logic, and story is constantly being retconned, changed, or just straight up ignored (Like the stupid headbutt the sith does to the lightsaber, or the dumb saber whip later in the episode). I will always have a special place in my heart for Star Wars, but it really feels like it’s on its last legs because of what Disney has done. Disney has put out 5 movies and 7 shows for Star Wars, and only 2 of the movies and 3 of the shows were decent. We need someone who actually cares about this franchise to move forward with it, or Star Wars will be completely dead within a couple of years.
