I’m just trying to figure out the exact composition of this fleet to try and gauge its strength in each respective aspect, like anti fighter, anti cap ship etc, while tryna find out how flexible it all is. Reason for that is I see a lot of ships like at least 3 javelin destroyers in flames by the end, like 4+ idris frigates, at least 5 hammerheads exploding or wrecked with at least 1 battlecruiser being cleaved in half. obviously I’m tryna figure out what the fleet is geared towards and what it would otherwise be capable of if it had to send a number of ships elsewhere while the core part of the fleet and the bengal stay in some area’s defensively, as the ship and the battle cruisers aren’t anywhere near as fast as javelins or idris ships.
IIRC the fleets are a legacy (for want of a better word) of the Xian cold war. A peer enemy - or at least the UEE thought they were a peer. Since the Xian were "fighting" a two front war I think in the end they are much more formidable than the UEE ever imagined.

They need to do some work in-game to match the way the ships move in this cinematic to how ships move in-game. Currently large ships move like they have no weight. They turn and stop way too easily.
Considering all the announcements for orgs and factions and all that, I wouldn’t be surprised if large orgs end up duking it out like this on a fairly regular basis. It’s those online org v org wars I find to exciting and fascinating, ever since those extremely large battles from what was it? Eve online? those wars. god I hope we can do something like that. and with possible npc hiring systems to help crew ships and fighters, you could literally have armies and armada’s at your disposal.
Probably won’t be Eve Online level for a long time. That game sees thousands of players in single battles practically monthly, the largest one having upwards of 9,400, ships, but the biggest difference is Eve each player controls a single (or multiple) ships all on their own whilst Star Citizen has multicrew. But the battles will still be insane!

Cruisers. If you look at the holo display behind Oldman you can see the ship names and designations from time to time. There is also an escort carrier of similar lines without the turret. They are a bit smaller than the Bengal.
I understand they have to add sound effects to keep audience engaged, but at least try to imagine these exterior shots of the battle being dead silent. It would be terrifying to know you can't hear a thing and death could come from any direction without warning. The only sounds you'd hear in this battle is the rattling of your guns firing and the thuds of impacts against your hull.
In one of their previous demos, they showed off a realistic audio mode option. All you hear is your ships engines and weapons resonating dampened noise and frame stress flex creaks through the chassis into the cockpit. You also only hear enemy shots that strike the ship and resonate through the hull. For those that want the extra immersion they have us covered.
It's also odd that the barrels of their cannons are rifled. What would be the point of it? There's no atmosphere in space? The smoke from the guns firing too. That amount of smoke means they're still using chemical reactions to fire their munitions and the more smoke, the worse the ratio of the chemicals being used to fire the munitions. Ideally there should be just a flicker of light.
@@Sujad There is atmospheric combat in the game too. Anything in space that wants to use combustion as a propellant is going to need to catalyze or inject their own oxygen. They are not going for full hardcore space sim because that is not fun,.
It looks amazing tho i have too say my 1 gripe would be they didn't make fighter pilot look very exiting in this, to me. but the fleet fight looks amazing

K, so I just watched for the third time and noticed some things that are worth addressing. Why does Admiral Bishop (Gary Oldman's character) whisper 'go' for squadron 42 to begin their surprise attack? I highly doubt even if the Vanduul were listening to their internal conversations and understood human language that they could piece together what was about to happen. The humans(UEE) seem to have a noticeable lack of point defense armament for the swarm that the Vanduul brings to this fight. 200 years you've been fighting them and you know their tactics, know they're going to be here at Vega, but aren't trying to clean them off the view screen in the opening minutes? Who's in charge of this decision? The UEE seem to have brought few fighters of their own for anti-fighter combat. Isn't that part of why you build them? The bombers(missile shooters) in squadron 42 pick poor targets. Aiming for the side of the ship makes sense if it's already out of commission and needs destroying, but the big threats are its main guns. They should have targeted the firing ports/entrances/battery(whatever you want to call it) and the charging line to guarantee it can't do more damage. I'm sure the UEE cruisers have enough rounds in their big guns to eventually destroy the dreadnought, but if they don't last long enough to get started, you're just wasting ordnance with survivable structural damage. Going by the Admiral Bishop Speech from years ago, 'the tragedy of Vega' is here, and the Vanduul threat is extremely obvious. How can the UEE be so incompetent or cowardly as to think this destruction wouldn't be visited upon any other human world after losses like here and the others named in the speech? Why does an admiral have to give a passionate speech to get funding, ships, and recruits from his own government, who likely just had a planet raided, slaughtered, and maybe even razed to the ground. This is genuinely one of the best space battles I've ever seen, graphics and spectacle aside. Compared to most of the space 'battle' slop served in the last 15 years by Star Trek or Star Wars, this is a gourmet meal. It's just that when analyzed, it seems like some world building/reasonable measures weren't considered. Maybe I'm missing context and I welcome any explanations, but this is only a 7 or 8 out of 10.
Bro, if it’s in the future already, and this is the naval battles of the future in space then those are Hella bullets and precision guided weapons here

@@borgthepig yea, still tho it’ll have perhaps some of the most complex warfare, faction on faction play, management and all that prolly in any game to feature massive online player presence ever. While deffo not to the same scale, last I remember there must’ve been like 10K ships on average in a number of battles, it’ll still be a spectacle to behold won’t it? Just hope someone is recording it when it happens so we can get some dope cinematics
@@borgthepig what will be nice though is that hopefully with meshing the battles are actually playable and tactics like we see here with SQ42 can actually be employed. Tactics aren't really used in eve battles as it's all dps calc.
@@AtheosTheAtheist yea Eve tactics are basically what ships you bring to the battle and knowing when to retreat. That’s basically it 😂
@@AtheosTheAtheistall true, I’d imagine sc would be more skill and strategy and coordination/cooperation based than anything right?
First half reminded my of BSG and ME3. Pretty awesome. Second half reminded me of Wing Commander days joining the ship as a fresh pilot.
Can't wait to see where this goes. Hope it stays on schedule.
Squadron 42 is still in the making?
WOW! This is the most epic battle ever! Spectacular!
the hell is that upgunned bangel? some sort of BB conversion?
That’s just the bengal as it’s supposed to be. It’s more of a battleship that can carry fighters than a pure carrier
The Argus which you can see in this same battle is the true carrier
Cruisers. If you look at the holo display behind Oldman you can see the ship names and designations from time to time. There is also an escort carrier of similar lines without the turret. They are a bit smaller than the Bengal.
Hell yeah!!!! This bests mass effect and all other space battles!!!!!!!
@@eltreum1 Oof that's some bonus points right there then.
Why not just muffle them abit like you’re hearing them through the hull?
This just in. All of this got scrapped to make yet another version of it and Star Citizen. We understand this may be frustrating for you. But we swear if you just give us another 250 million dollars we will make this game!
Why not $300bil
man, imagine superman as your partner on this. you got to step up your game.
Best soundtrack I've heard in a game in a long time. Pedro killed it on this.
its not Pedro
Poor Geoff Zanelli rarely gets proper recognition, everyone always assumes Pedro scores both games
Pedro’s amazing, but this is Geoff Zanelli’s work
I thought it was super bad, bro just trumpets through the whole thing.
Geoff Zanelli, same guy who did the absolutely awesome Outlander soundtrack.
where can i meet this game? i can't find on steam and epic store.
Reminds me a little of The expanse battles, BSG, Wing Commander, and a game called Haegemonia, for those epic battles and effects. 10/10!!
I could watch this for hours, really cool 👍👍
Cool movie that you get to play… sometimes.
This is like trying to hold out endgame crisis is Stellaris
Is that a bengal with dorsal guns?
Someone needs to sue the human shipwrights. The PDC's on the main carrier are in the direct line of sight with the heavy dorsal guns. They better hope they don't have a target down the center-line because they will have to blow away their own missile defense guns.
Seeing all the space debris all I can think is that sector of space will be unapproachable by anyone for a timespan of about forever.
That's what salvage crews are for
@@boopjack9522 All the junk is going to keep moving at the speed they were ejected with.
The salvage crew would have to pick up debris going at several times the speed of sound-
Salvaging is easy if the object stands still.
Damn this is very good !!
It's kind of funny that the barrels of space warships still have rifling😂
so after I come from work I get to be a janitor on a small ship for 12 hours a day unless I pay 42 000 $ ? is that the 42 ?
Za koju platformu je igrica dali ima za sony ps4
When Gary Oldman says "Go!", you better go. 😂
Wow! One chap made This? It’s top gun in space!
Definitely not a one man job, it’s been around a decade of building a whole studio and designing and redesigning the game to reach this
@@dukeofhazard420 its a scam, unfinished game that is still scamming people today.
@@stephenlyon1358 for 35 bucks I’ve gotten way more gameplay out of this game then any crappy COD repeat or similar game. If that’s a scam then it still puts a lot of games to shame
@@dukeofhazard420👍 logically spot on👍
Some of these shots are very similar to the space battle in Serenity
ICONIC at all levels.
the alien looking (i am assuming bad guys) smaller fighter that launched from the big ship looked like a Goauld death glider lol
Looks very pretty but will it ever be finished?
'See that massive ship with the big gun? Concentrate fire on that' - said no one ever apparently
А откуда в космосе вспышки взрывов и звуки выстрелов?
Believe it or not an hour of complete silence would get incredibly boring and stale, games with smaller space scenes can get away with the realistic silence since a few minutes isn’t so bad
What is this from? So awesome!
That pilot - "want me to learn your name?" Sounded like Mark Hamil
A new "Wing Commander" like this would be nice
the new Wing Commander is exactly what this is lol
Should of cleared the lane on the counter-fighters during the Kingship attack with like 4 Ares Infernos. Full send, all in, BRRRRRRT.
Incredible scenes, fantastic. What's expected release date, is it 2042?
i love the way the fighters run face first into the hammerhead, and it doesn't give af! that was badass
Last time I saw a battle this epic was in Babylon 5
Bro this is dope as hell
Wait is this cinematic with master modes or no?
Wow ! Super cool 😎 to watch
gives me goosebumps its richard harrow
why gravity in space? ship got hit it fall down?
you want to start to talk about realism in a space game? 😀
@@weisthor0815 They marketing it that way.
I will applaud it when I know it is more than a tech demo.
Star Citizen almost had my money back in the Kickstarter, glad I didn't.
Bro, if it’s in the future already, and this is the naval battles of the future in space then those are Hella bullets and precision guided weapons here
Finally they have done the render that took 20 years... now we can wait for another 40 years to finally get the full mmorpg game
At least we can enjoy it for the next 40yrs😂
@@osuave7811 i might be dead by then xdd
is this game ever gonna come out!?
I really am looking forward to this
Where’s the Perseus??
Obsolete at this point - used as garrison ships. The original Perseus didn't have shields. I believe it was after this battle the Perseus was revived with updated systems as part of the rearmament program.
why rifled barrels in space?
Why is everything moving in slow motion?
Reminded me a scene from Firefly

name of the videogame and what platform or console can I play it on
Star Citizen
good thing my video didnt crash
Is this something you can play now?
It has been the case so far.
Why don't they use an antimatter charges or, at least, nukes?
