Premier Inn Southampton West Quay - Pre-Cruise Tour & Review

- It’s pre-cruise eve and we are staying at the Premier Inn West Quay Southampton! Have you stayed here and what did you think? There’s a lot of choice of accommodation in Southampton these days but few are as reasonably priced as the Premier Inn. However, does it offer all you need? Are you better off paying the extra for somewhere more luxurious? Here’s my tour and review of our stay last night where I also give you details about location, proximity to the cruise terminals and shopping area, early check in and late check out, parking, and of course an all important hairdryer test.
Don’t forget to like and subscribe for weekly travel vlogs! We are sailing P&O Ventura today so look out for those vlogs! Follow me on Twitter and Instagram @travelblogjamie and my website travelblogjamie.com.

Great video!
We always stay in Premier Inns around the UK and try and pick those with free parking. Premier Inn Southampton West when we're cruising. I love the anonymity and simplicity, it keeps me grounded. 🤣 They have almost all we need and you can always pick up extra tea, coffee, towels etc. from reception. It would be even better if they had a small fridge.
‘Grounded’ 😂 Exactly what I was thinking too! A fridge would be a good addition, I must say.
We loved our stay in the Premiere Inn in Inverness, Scotland in August of 2022. Clean, comfortable, convenient, very well kept, restaurant was very good, and the staff were phenomenal. Left me with a great impression so that I would most definitely stay with them again.
Glad to hear it!
We stayed there one month ago today, pre-cruise for the Anthem. And again pre-cruise ventura in July. We also ate invtge Greek place across the road 😁 Perfect location for all cruise terminals. Keep the Vlogs coming Jamie 😎
Will do, David!
Vlogging on the go…love it! 🎉
Nice Vlog Jamie, cant go wrong with staying in a Premier Inn. For 1/2/3 nights very good value and always clean and comfortable
Yes I definitely agree and thank you 🙏
Handy for city, but looks a bit bland. Stayed at Lodge by Solent last time Rooms very clean scandi design and great value room and 19 days parking. A little way out but great value £150 plus £35 for taxi. Did not eat there walked to Whitely Shopping centre for meal at Italian restaurant. All good. Great review many thanks, enjoy your cruise with family, happy days
Thank you Sue 🙏
I love Premier inn. Always stay there!
Thanks for stopping by ❤️
Thank you for that. Had already booked here for my first ever cruise (QM2 TA), but some of the info you provided was very helpful. Are most of the cruise terminals not a walkable distance from the hotel?
You can walk to all of them actually, but could take up to 30 minutes which, with luggage, can be a slog!
Thanks for another great hotel review and tour Jamie 🤩 This is hands down our favourite Premier Inn in Southampton (not sure how cool we are having a favourite one 😅).
Like you say, the location is great for food, city centre, and accessing the cruise ports! And unlike the City Centre one (which is strangely further away from the city centre...) it isn't built right next to the main train line to London 😅🙃 because no one wants to be kept awake by freight trains until 1am!
Where did you go for your Greek food out of interest? And was it good?
We went to the Real Greek and it was mostly good, with some stand out dishes and others that we would not order again. I’d recommend a try
@@TravelBlogJamie ooh sounds good 😍 We shall add it to our list of places to eat 😀

Jamie do you know how much the nearest Parking is for 8 nights? Premier Inn looks about same as Travelodge… but blimey for the shopping centre that’s a prime spot !!! Enjoy your cruise:)
Sorry Jackie I’m not sure as I never use the parking opportunities - check out CPS in Southampton
Ah, I've always wondered how this hotel is. I recently stayed at Moxy, which is literally next door to this hotel, and find the location to be incredible for the port!
I prefer the Moxy, personally, but the beds aren’t as comfy
@@TravelBlogJamie Yeah, the Moxy in Southampton is such a great vibe - the theming is so strong in there!
Always use a premier inn, never had a bad one yet.
Reliable and trustworthy
That's the hotel I'm going to stay at next year. does the shopping Centre across the road have a supermarket. been binge watching Iona cruise videos as my first time cruise next year.
It has a Waitrose for hall!
Do you know if they have an area to leave luggage? We arrive way too early before check in, so wondering if we can leave our luggage to go off for the day?
I believe they do
Looks fine, ok for a pre cruise stay. £5 for 23 hours parking? That's weird. Why 23 hours? Looked at the website, does not seem to have parking for the length of a cruise. Bit of a drag if you are driving to Southampton. Looking forward to the cruise videos. Cheers. Pete
No, it’s the multi story next door so it’s short stay. And yes, it’s all fine here - missing a few luxuries from some of my fab hotels but it’s comfortable and reasonably priced
Looks like it does the job… I must admit when checking out prices recently all hotels seem to have almost doubled in price
Have a great time on Ventura Bon voyage 🛳
Yes they are expensive!
