THIS WINDOW COULD HAVE FELL OUT !!! 😡ALTERATION JOB PART 3
WE ARE BACK ON THE WINDOW / LINTEL JOB TO FINSH UP. WE DID THE TOOTHING OUT WITH THE TRUSTY SAWZALL, ALSO REMOVING THE 3/4 S TO MAKE THE NEW BRICK WORK NEATER.
I THEN FITTED THE DUMMY FRAME AND BUILT IT IN. NEXT THE LINTEL, CAVITY TRAY, VENTS AND NEW BRICKWORK. WHILE THIS WAS GOING ON ALEX TOOK OUT THE BACK WINDOW AND KNOCKED OFF THE SNAP HEADER BRICK ON EDGE.
WELL AFTER DINNER AND 2 TRIPS TO BERRYS FOR SAND THEN A NEW ANGLE IRON THE LAST FRAME WENT IN AND I THEN BRICKED THE BACK AND FINAL WINDOW UP, INCLUDING INSTALLING A NEW 750 MM ANGLW IRON. IT WAS A VERY LONG BUT PRODUCTIVE AND SATISFYING DAY...ENJOY

Thank you both from Nellie and myself. A fantastic job, you really earned your corn on this one. Saving our money to have you guys back for some more lintel replacement on downstairs windows.
Thanks very much Dave much appreciated 🧱👍🏽
That was one heck of a long day's graft - as you said Steve, so satisfying, but knackering. How you are managing with your hip is beyond me, those ladders were so obviously bloody painful. Well done the pair of you, great teamwork.
Cheers David 😁🧱👍🏽
Genius work
🧱👍🏽
Beautiful work, thank you chaps.👍
Thanks pal 🧱👍🏽
Good video I've just renewed Windows in my sons bungalow not one window had lintels in so put them in then Windows, keep the good work up.
Thanks pal 👍🏽🧱
Thanks guys thoroughly enjoyed this. Agree with everything Martin has said.
Thanks very much 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Hi Steve &Alex. Another cracking video as always. You two make it look so easy. I know it’s not. But you so well organised. Like it that your so good don’t even need to take the bricks out. Nice one guys. Have a good weekend 👍
Thanks John you too 🧱👍🏽
Liking the the prop set up Steve and Alex nice work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks pal . I used to turn upstairs lintels down because we couldn’t prop them …. Not now 🤙🏾🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Fantastic work guys
Thanks Rob 🧱👍🏽
Keep up the good work the 2 best brickies ever first-class 😊
Thanks very much 🧱👍🏽
Not just windows. Years ago I lived opposite a bungalow which had a large folding door at the rear. One day there was an enormous crash of glass as the entire frame fell out. Amazingly nobody was hurt but it was still a shock. And what was holding the frame in. A bit of expanding foam and the silicon applied round the edge.
Jeez 😳🤯😱🧱👍🏽
No doubt the original window fitters supplied a self-certified Fensa certificate for that cowboy install, but I got a 1 month delay buying my house because there was no Fensa certificate for the kitchen window, despite it being properly fixed and sealed! Gotta love it!
Ridiculous 😒🧱👍🏽
Ye do grate work I am not given out about Alex he is a good son as I see the way ye work together I love u videos hope u get u hip done soon u are a good father figure
Thanks very much 🧱👍🏽🙏🏽
great work as usual guys
Cheers Pat 🧱🙏🏽👍🏽
Another fascinating video and well done guys, bet you were aching with all the ladder exercise .
Absolutely 😖🧱👍🏽
Another top job completed, well done lads
Thanks Al 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Great job as always.
Cheers Richard 🧱👍🏽
Great as usual.
Cheers buddy 🧱👍🏽
Awesome video thanks lads very much appreciated top job top team 🇬🇧👍
Thanks for your very loyal support Phil 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Spot on quality job as always, and staying power to get the job done. Alex ignore those knuckle shufflers with their negative comments, they wouldn't know what to do with a brick if it fell on their heads.. I envy your dad, you are a great team. ATB from J & H Builders.
Thanks very much John 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Bloody hell Steve I thought it was you who has been ringing me in the middle of the night with that heavy breathing 😂😂😂
Maybe if was 🤫😆🧱👍🏽
Nice job....
😁🧱👍🏽
Those clips on the side of the window are for pushing into built in formers , that fix the window obviously no built in former though, so yeh not a fixed window. Good work as normal
Thanks Karl now they make sense and so were completelty useless 🙄🧱👍🏽
good work
😁🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Great work lads, just sat watching this on the TV, would it be worth having a rope pulley for the bricks and mortar when up a scaffolding, easy stored in the van with a bit of scaff pole and clips? again love watching you both work great attention to detail.
Regards Russ,
Good tip but we don’t have room and don’t use scaff often enough 🧱👍🏽
When will u dad get his hip done he is some man love the work he dose when will Alex be a brickie
Alex is a bricky
Would it be better with a bit of brown dye, good work.
Thanks but the house mortar doesnt have brown dye in it 🧱👍🏽
Does your customer only put in an appearance in after dark? wearing a black cape by any chance?? 😎
🤨🧱👍🏽
I'm related to Ray Reardon, Dracula himself 😂😂😂😂
It's not as dark inside as you might think. When the decorating has been completed it'll be lovely.
@davidkemble3419 . Evening Dave hope all is well 😆🧱👍🏽
Steve is that a special blade you use for toothing out if so what do you call them, please?
Bosch carbide masonry 🧱👍🏽
I look at what these guys get done in a day and what a builder has just quoted me to cut out a 4 ft window opening, fit a lintel and window, scary 😮
😬🧱👍🏽
what brand and type of blade are you using and what kind pf level would you recommend wood beam lick the old mahogany stanley ones plastic or aluminum
Bosch carbide masonry 🧱👍🏽
thank you for this info@@SteveAndAlexBuild
"This window could have FALLEN out"
Yes 🧱👍🏽
Just asking, you use strong boys a lot, how good are they??
They are very good when used properly 🧱👍🏽
Thanks Steve
@garysmith4717 No probs 🧱👍🏽
God, I think of times I lent against our windows can only imagine the client doing same and it slid out😮
Shocking 🙄🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild For all its regulations UK building industry, is a joke.
😬🧱👍🏽
@@freepress8451any western country is too. It's a race to the bottom
nice to see it all matches but how is the hip steve and thank you for the video
Thanks Eddie . The hip is unbearable mate 😔🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I can tell hope you get it done soon
👏👏👍👍
👍🏽🧱
Out of breath and a bit of a cough after climbing a short way up a ladder. Don't panic, but do yourself a favour and go for a health check up! believe me I know..........
🧱👍🏽
Why would you make a landing and a bathroom window smaller .loss of natural daylight
My thoughts as well the boys must be doing what the customer requested. Is the window tax back😊
Stair lift being fitted they said
🧱👍🏽
Ha right 😊
The 2 best brickies on the you tube interwebs love the work you do keep doing what you do
🙄
😶
bricks sticking out all over the place
And ?
Steve alex could have done the toothing while you were building the other window instead of sitting in van on phone
As I explained in the video Alex was having his dinner as we were staggering our breaks . He is allowed breaks
I admire the way father and son work together I know ye have to have u lunch sorry if u picked me up wrong I was not given out I love watching ye work together keep up the good work
Ah , apologies for that . Alex gets a lot of abuse on here unfortunately 😒🧱👍🏽
could have fallen out .... that's the correct version.
Not up ere it’s not 🤣🤣
Great teamwork and good graft by you both
Cheers 😁🧱👍🏽
Delicious just watch these professionals do the job everytime without to much words
🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Loved the 'Wing and a Prayer' naming of the serrated steel razor's fixed to the dides of the UPVC, dodgy crappy window installers ripping of client's ...tut tut
That window came out so easily 😳🧱👍🏽
Hey lads, loving your channel. My grandfather was a top notch brickie in London from a long line of bricklayers and plasterers (and gasholder builders!). I still have a bunch of his old trowels and whatnot. His biggest job that we know of was as a foreman on the building of the magnificent Freemasons Hall in London but he loved getting off site and doing the sort of work you fellas do, garden walls, extensions, through lounges, bricking up windows, roofing and the like. He also went to Norfolk to build airfields early in WW2. He worked constantly, way beyond retirement until cancer got him at 76 in 1983 when I was only 8. He lived a remarkably full and happy life and if he had lived longer or I had come along earlier there's a fair chance I would have gone into the trade, as it is I only have vague memories of him playing his upright piano at Christmas while us kids played pass the parcel. I've definitely inherited the love and satisfaction for hard manual work from him.
He sounded like an amazing man . The trade could do with more Pepe like him but it is a dying trade unfortunately.
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Great job as always! I remember when I worked in the UK, jobs always tended to take longer than anticipated. You guys look like you need a long relaxing holiday. Come to Thailand. You will love it!
I need to price in extra time as we work late too often. 🧱👍🏽
Hi boys, have you tried the brickmate system ? I have used it a good few times it's very good
What’s a brick mate system ?
Instead of using strongbow and akros they are clamps which apply sideways pressure to the brickwork above and are linked together with a scaffold tube
I have had a set a few years I can't remember the name boys sorry but it works well
@daverogerson5969 . Ah I know what you mean, no not yet 🧱👍🏽
They save so much messing with akros, and u can use them where you can't get an akro in
I do wish you would leave Alex alone. Bricks do not get ready to use by themselves, mix does not do itself. All of these jobs are time consuming and tiring especially if climbing up ladders, obviously those comments must be from people who have never done anything manual. Then finally is the clearing up to be done. Its a team effort and when appropraite Alex does grap the trowel.
Thanks very much Alan massively appreciated 😍🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
Great video as always Steve n Alex always good see professional work keep up great work 👍👍
Cheers Dave 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
Well done guys
Thanks 🧱👍🏽
Top fella's
Ta John 🧱👍🏽
Putting the template board inside makes removing it to fit the window a much bigger job unless done from the scaffold.
Alex could have done it off the landing
The windows were fitted of the scaff 🧱👍🏽
Good thinking.
🧱👍🏽
How dare you lol. top job guys 😀
😁🧱👍🏽
Great video as usual.
Cheers 👍🏽🧱
Alex needs to help more with brick work as his dad is not in good health he could have done the toothing out of the other window when his dad went off to get stuff
Alex was busy enough running round after me
sorry lads but that work to to left of the head of the window is awful
Thats because the whole gable end has been lifted by over 10 mm by the rusty lintel and is now slightly out of line. the only way to make that look pretty is a full demolish and re build. we are brickies not magicians unfortunately
Why is Alex not driving yet he should take some of the work load off his dad
He hasn't passed his test yet
Not worth watching too much explaining less work
Bye 👋🏾
close the door on ya way out
🤣🧱👍🏽
Steve and Alex are professionals if you watch all there videos you will see all the good work they do
Let me help you user-nc7fe1hv6w the off button on your remote is on the upper right Press it and you won't have to watch, bye click
The lintel work alone is enough to keep you going until retirement 😂 not impressed with the cheap bungee cord holding the ladder, but i am over cautious the higher i go 😢 👍🧱
😏🧱👍🏽
