- Living in a big city like Chicago can be quiet exhausting. To recharge and draw new energy from the beauty of our planet I regularly pack my gear and escape the concrete jungle.
This video was shot on a four day road trip with Portland as the starting point covering both the majestic coastline of Oregon as well as the magical nature sides around Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge.
Join me on my exploration of these wonderful places, from waves crashing into the curvy orange-coloured cliffs to the sparkling waterfalls falling deep into canyons.
PLACES SEEN IN THIS VIDEO
- Ramona Falls
- Mt. Hood
- Trillium Lake
- Columbia River Gorge
- Latourell Falls
- Lower Oneonta Falls & Canyon
- Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area
- Pacific City
- Oregon Coast
Music by Lucas King (Dope tunes, definitely check it out!!!)

This is another one of your majestical masterpieces Joey. Didn't want it to end. Congrats, this is going to be another huge hit for you! Keep them coming, Absolutely stunning...Bravo!
+Mark Wilson thanks Mark! Please share it with all your friends. Every new sub is motivating to do more :)
Thanks Brandon 🤙
Oregonian here and super proud of my home. Thank you for this beautiful artwork. We're sheltering in place and missing seeing our beautiful places.
Thanks so much! You are so lucky living in such a beautiful place on earth!
I could not imagine more beautifull place on earth.Woudl love to live there!
Joey, this is the first video of yours I have seen and I think that is ridiculously awesome! I live in Oregon and love this.
Thanks so much Brandon! Hope you enjoy my other videos as well!
This video made me cry twice. Thank you so much for creating it, it was beautiful. Props to Lucas for the music too it fit so well
🙌🙌🙌🙌
I cried twice too 😄
Thank you for reminding me how beautiful Oregon is. "We" my family and I left Dayton in 78 and I haven't ever been able to make it back.
A beautiful state captured in a beautiful video! Oregon is hopefully my future home someday!!!
Totally agree and thanks! ✌️
Magnificent! Loved this!
Thanks!
Breathtaking work, dude.
That was a brilliant video, great job man! From picking all the areas to the background music, sneaky sneaky Imperial March I see what you did there LOL
I'm from Spain, I was doing this quick little tour of the US and had the chance to be in Oregon for a couple of days. I only had time to visit Lithia Park and Crater Lake (and the areas around it). It wasn't much but it was enough for me to fall in love with the place. It was just brilliant.
I already booked another trip to the US and I'll be spending most of the time in Oregon this time. I just loved it.
As one who actually lives here, I can say you have done justice to the beauty of my home. The ruggedness of this state prevents the imprint of man and you have captured that beautifully. Thank you for the time and effort you placed in creating these wonderful images.
Would you be my fb friend? 😄
Great work!! Someone decided to cut onions while I was watching. Crazy.
Thanks so much! And arrrgh... These onion cutters! 😠
Just want you to know this film inspired me to become a full time filmmaker. I’m in Oregon as well
🎉 this is so wonderful to hear and makes me very happy. Thanks a lot for sharing and I wish you all the best!!!
This was amazing. I just purchased my first rokinon lens and am super excited to use it!
Mountains are calling..

Hey, Nice video. Do you know the exact title of the song used or link to the song, and not the artist? I can't find the song you used :)
Adam Khan it's two songs one star wars themed and one stranger things. Link to Lucas' channel is in the description.
Thanks, but half his channel is star wars music.. Do you have a title?
+Adam Khan imperial march heroic version
Beautiful pictures.
Just a suggestion, give a few more seconds per picture.
Just saying
Thanks Rick! Very fair point. Habit of the ad world.

Hey as someone who was born and raised in Oregon this is A+! could I embed this in a FB post and link all your social channels?
Thanks a lot. And of course, embedding a UA-cam link does not need any permission :) go for it!
Nice done! I like specially 0:47 till 1:01
+David Aelbrecht thanks David :):)
The capturing and blending of the audio impressed me the most! Made such a huge difference. If you're shooting anything like this in Oregon again i'd love to come along and see how it's done!
+Bigchrome thanks so much :) I hope I get the chance again
I love the Star Wars music. The cinematography was absolutely stunning.

Amazing work! Anyone else notice the Darth Vader leitmotif at 2:14, followed by the first part of the 'Across The Stars' theme?
Wonderful visuals and sound effects. That peaceful atmosphere was perfect :)

Beautiful video! Thank you!
Thanks a ton!
I know oregon because im watching twilight
Wow! How professional this video! awesome
Oregon is so beautiful!
Living in Yachats (pronounced YAH Hots) on the central Oregon Coast, I was impressed by the high quality, attention to detail, and the ambiance of our great state through artful video. Come back Joey and see the coast south from Yachats to Port Orford. More beautiful coastline to experience ... then shoot over to Crater Lake. Thank you for positing this video (2017) ... and keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much for the kind words and invitation. Your state is just gorgeous and I definitely want to explore the south, especially crater lake and the southern part of the coast! What's the best time of the year to explore this region?
@John Montgomery yes exactly I live in Brookings I love it here check out a couple of my UA-cam vids thanks
Amazing video, the editing, the content...!! 💙🙌🏼
🤙
I tried to walk into the Oneonta Falls, but got only about 100 ft with waist high water and slippery boulders and carrying expensive camera gear didnt want to take the chance to damage them...................darn!!!
Yeah, not lying it was a little risky but eventually paid off. No risk no reward, that's what they are saying right? 😂
Dude, This was the first video or your's I've seen. I'm hooked. I'm now a new subscriber, and viewer. Thank you for showing the beauty of Oregon here.
Thanks a million Sam! Really appreciate the kind words and sub :) more is coming!

Oregon is remarkable.

Stunning cinematography and great shots!
Thanks a mill! 🙌
Just magnificent shots. Thank you so much!
Thanks soooo much
Is it me or does the song sound like a peaceful version of the Darth Vader theme song?
Good day to spot this right? ;)
Question: What video editing software did you used on this video? Thanks.
Final cut Pro X

:)
Beautiful video! Oregon is just breathtaking!
Thank you!!
History in the Making.
Fantastique
Let me start by saying outright that this is a marvel. The entire time, I had a beaming smile on my face. This video is a true masterpiece.
I am planning a trip up to Oregon this summer to visit family (Hood River). I was looking into it and was excited, but this video pushed me over the edge. I can't wait now! I'll be bringing along me G85 / Mavic Mini and I hope you don't mind if I take some inspiration from this video.
I absolutely loved the way you timed the video, opening with sunset and ending with night. And the shot at Trillium Lake with Mt. Hood in the background. Breathtaking.
Subscribed and keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much for the kind words! Very happy to hear you are feeling inspired. :) Have an awesome trip this summer and share what you shot here :)
Enjoy!
@@Joey_Helms I'll def post a video on here! Quick question - what do you use to edit? I'm 17, and I can't really afford the Adobe subscriptions. I've used lightroom before for RAW but always end up canceling it. I'm thinking of using FCPX, but wondering what you use. Thanks!
FCPX all the way ;)
Stunning Video, great shots!
Did you consider making some kind of 'behind the scenes', I really would like to see that!
+Lenard Sama thanks man! I should! Let me consider this on my next big trip - La Reunion/Mauritius
A few points to critic but very well done over all
Thanks! Always appreciate constructive feedback. :)
Yea deff envious of the focus and clarity
Beautiful shots but is no one else going to mention the Star Wars music in the background?
That's beautiful thanks for the video great job
I’m going to Oregon and this what I’m most excited for people of Oregon Reunite and help me have the best experience in the comments.
I was curious why you used the Imperial March from Star Wars for the music (it's clearly inspired by it or trying to copy it).
thousandth like lets go
Booom!!!! Thanks!!!
Odd choice to set your beautiful nature video to The imperial March but you do you
Can we use some of these shots for our Travel Video for incoming Oregon State students?
1:20 the star wars theme?
Yup, the entire first song is a star wars adaptation. The second the a version of the stranger things theme
Can someone please tell me why every video I watch of Oregon, there are always dead trees everywhere, why?
images flashed by too soon. doesn't give enough time to absorb the beauty. sad.
wow
Wow! Just wow! Footage, edit, grading, sound design, music, imperial march- everything is awesome here ;)
+ArtPiranha thanks a ton man :) glad you like it! Feel free to share it :)
