I watched this whole video thinking I was watching someone with millions of subscribers! The editing, narration, everything was super well put together. Thanks for making this I really enjoyed watching it. Its my dream to be up on that summit one day and hopefully many more. Thankyou!
As a 21 year old, I just went to the mountains for the first time in my life (The Tatras). I didn't do any challenging trails, because of my poor condition. I almost cried going on a 1546 m above sea level trail, because I found it to be so challenging to me perosnally. But damn, was it rewarding! Now I can't stop thinking about the mountains and I want to get back there and push my limits. Mountains are amazing, they made me want to work out so I can go up there with ease, like other tourists I saw. Now I keep watching videos about Alps, Himalayas, and other impressive mountain ranges, hoping that one day I can be the one up there. This video also evoked such feelings in me. I can't wait to get back on the mountains! Thank you for amazing content that keeps my dream alive.
Love the Matterhorn. I was lucky to work a season in Zermatt. I used to sit on my balcony every morning watching the sun light up the face. Good memories!
Broooooooo! what a fun watch! Congrats on the summit and even bigger congrats on the video. Sound design, story telling, everything about it was top tier! Can't wait to watch the next one
@Samuel-to9mu My setup was just my harness, a few Caribeaners, belay device and two personal anchors for switching between fixed sections. I recommend larger Caribeaners too- they will slide over some of the protected portion of the fixed ropes without snagging. A short ice ax works best and I brought a 60m rope but a 40m would have been sufficient. Route finding up was easy, no need to look around unless you are anchored. Pay lots of attention to the route though, route finding down was tough and it's a legitimate maze on the way down. I paced myself and didn't have any grip issues. I rappelled a lot on the way down which was time consuming and probably could have down climbed a lot more. If you have the chance go up to the glacier and climb the Breithorn and Pollux/Castor to get used to the altitude. Other than that just stay focused, keep a steady pace, watch your footing and enjoy yourself.
I am Matterhorn lover❤now because of you people for first time seen every Cell of this giant beauty. Amazing job and filming. Thanks for sharing . God bless🙏🏼❤️🇦🇺
As an avid moutain adventurer myself, this is best video about moutain climbing I have ever watched. The music and narrative voice, tone, and climbing footage are supreme. This is period the best, way better than any other professional mountain documentary. Keep it up with good work. Stay safe!
Wow, anyone who climbs the Matterhorn must have nerves of steel. What a huge achievement, your fitness level must be off the scale to keep pushing upward. For me such a climb would be an absolute nightmare, especially since I am 70 this month, but I enjoyed the climb very much from my armchair! Very well done, I bet you had a good appetite when you got back to base! Again, just a big WOW!
I love mountains but have a serious fear of heights. Palms were very sweaty watching this, what an incredible journey. I very rarely comment on videos but with was a masterpiece. I was about to make a coffee and started the video and next thing you know its done. Amazing work.
Holy shit, you really delivered first person views there. I saw some other footage of climbing the matterhorn and all of them were amazing but your video really showed why this mountain is so difficult to climb. Congrats dude!!
Sunday Nov 3, 2024 16:20 UTC. AGUASCALIENTES, mexico. What an exceptional video. Sweating hands and strong heartbeats. Goosebumps. I dreamed with mountains, waked up abd search for mountains videos, this was the first to show up. That is was i was dreaming about. Congratulations and thank you for sharing this with us. I hope someday I reach that summit. I will let you know if it happens, the future will speak.
I lived in Switzerland a bit in my early 20s and visited many times thereafter. Took me 20 years just to SEE the Matterhorn as I always got bad weather. Nearly cried when I finally saw it aged 45. This video was beautiful and brought back some nice memories. It also gave me anxiety watching you wander across that knife edge at the summit! Great production and presentation of that amazing mountain. Congrats.
Great video dude! One suggestion: in my opinion you don’t need the epic music all the time. I think it‘s far more immersive when you just hear the ambient sounds of the mountains while climbing!
This my friend is superb. I've ventured up a few scottish munros but i would never ever have the bottle to try something like this. You have given us a true first hand experience and it is phenomenol. Love this. Congrats❤❤❤❤
Yep. From far away you could never guess the true nature of the moutain; i.e. just an accumulation of small rocks on top one on another. Not like these big granite walls you can find somewhere else in the alps (Grande Jorasse)
Great climb. The different climbing cultures are interesting. It’s more rare to see fixed aid like the giant fixed rope and ladder in North America where I did most of my climbing. As a young Colorado kid the Disney film about the first ascent of the Matterhorn sparked my interest in climbing when I was 8 or 9 years old. I never got around to doing it unfortunately but it’s fun to live it by proxy.
I think this mostly due to the fact of the Matterhorn being so popular that fixed ropes and ladders are needed to allow more people to summit. Hope you get to climb it one day!
This Matterhorn climb is absolutely incredible! The mix of breathtaking views and intense moments along the Hörnli route really captures the thrill and challenge of climbing such an iconic peak. Amazing work documenting each step - felt like I was right there on the mountain with you. Thanks for sharing this unforgettable experience! 👏
Absolutely super. Video edit. You managed to encapsulate what it is to climb the mountain, without the danger. So many climbing videos show nothing but the ground being looked at by the climber - which I get…your first priority is safety not making a great edit. You managed to do both. I didn’t realize the Matterhorn has that kind of “false summit.” That arête looked gnarly. I love climbing but I need to continue working on my focus for these ultra-exposed places at altitude. Even after years of doing it, I still get scared of heights, which means I’m not focusing on the right things on approach. Someday maybe I’ll get the stones to do this legendary mountain. Props for the killer video man. Really well done.
Man so cool seeing this, last year my family and I went and stayed in that beautiful city, mountain biking out there was easily the coolest place I’ve ever gone on two wheels, thanks for posting to make me feel like I was back again.
Incredible video and incredible accomplishment! I proposed at the base of the Matterhorn and we saw climbers that July day. Your video allowed a first hand ride up there! Thanks for posting!
The wide angle camera really gives you a feeling that you are up high with a long fall if you make a mistake. Not sure I will ever climb the Matterhorn but it was a great thrill to watch this video! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this amazing video ! I climbed Matterhorn on August 2024, the 13 ! It was so difficult, I couldn't remember all the adventure...I have pictures of course but happy to watch this video ! Congrats ! Matterhorn is a legend, and for me a dream came true !
Absolutely brilliant video. Congrats on the successful ascent! I would say that the Alps' most dangerous mountain is by far the Eiger. No fixed ropes or ladders there :) (with the exception of the Hinterstoisser traverse)
Epic video and climb. Well done. I love hiking in the mountains but I'd get vertigo climbling something like the Matterhorn. Would love to do it but seeing this I realise what a challenge it must be.
This is one of the best videos of an ascent via the Hornlike Ridge that I have seen. Congratulations. I only ever had one chance at it, but big snowfall just prior to attempt made it far too dangerous for our ability; I reckon we could , maybe, have done it with your conditions ( and your excellent guide! ). Far far too old now so I am loving all the modern stuff, drones etc.
great video, this mountain is the true gems of the alps. so much history! It would have been really cool that you post the video on the way down, must have been equally impressive.
Amazing video! It's fantastic to watch dreams come true. Got to climb it in July 2021 which had been a dream for me since seeing the mountain in 1970. :-) Solvey to the top is definitely pretty airy! Glad you didn't need crampons until after the shoulder. We had them on from the Solvey to the top. You're right - definitely a bit more adrenaline pump. Fun memories watching the video and like everyone else, really appreciate the professional editing and footage. Keep it up!
I have strong fier of hights but love mountains and this video was amazing opourtunity to see whole climb to the peak where most likely I never get to, base camp is what could manage maybe. Nice video and well done.
I watched all your videos here, this one is impressive! Thank you for sharing here your climbs on the high mountains in the world for people like me who just can dream to see it! 😊 I wish you to dream and realize all your dreams while you are young! Just be careful with the highest top over 8000 m! ❤
I climbed Ayre's Rock (Uluru) in central Australia over 30 years ago when I was a fit 50 year old. I can understand exactly how they felt climbing in this video, because Uluru is pretty windy up there, so there are fixed ropes and chains too.
@@grantgray1759 It's most likely much of the same; down-climbing, short rope & fixed rope, and probably some rappelling. It'd likely take as long to descend as it would to ascend.
