  • Today, I talk about athlete's foot and give a rather long (sorry!) lecture about fungal infections! Apologies for the delay - work has been very lately, leaving little time or energy for recording and video editing. Hopefully I'll be back on track next week but no guarantees!

I agree, fungi are second only to parasites in the disgusting-ness category when it comes to infectious diseases, at least in my books :/

Definitely learned a lot from you today! Fungus is no joke! D:
And interesting that you mention band cells - there is a newer spinoff manga of Cells at Work focusing on the neutrophils from the original series, and they take on a band cell as their kouhai! There's a fan translation or two floating around the internet, but I hope it gets released here too! X3
Wishing you and your colleagues all the best! Thank you for all of your hard work and keeping us safe, as well as sharing your knowledge with us here! Big love from the west coast of Canada! ^^

Thank you! Interesting that band cells are actually a thing in the CAW series, even if not in Code Black!

Pharmacy student from Indonesia here (again)!
Tbh i have ever got athlete's foot roughly a month ago, but the medication I used was Miconazole cream (since in Indonesia the most commonly used medications for athlete's foot/ringworm are Miconazole and Ketoconazole)
At that time i had to walk carefully so the infected part won't touch the ground; and it's a weird feeling for me, but... it happens.
Edit: Ringworm can also be a zoonotic disease, aka that fungi could infect from infected animals (usually infected cats/dogs) to humans. For infected pets, Virgin Coconut Oil/VCO also can be used as an alternative way to eradicate the fungi.

I always appreciate your insights! Pharmacology is not my strong point - my pharmacology course in nursing school was interrupted by my professor's leave of absence (family emergency) and the course was kind of in disarray after that.
I have thankfully never gotten athlete's foot! I'm squeamish about my feet touching gross things (like wet tile or even having wet sand on my feet) so I always wear sandals or something. I did not know that it can be passed from animal to human, though! It's crazy how easily a fungus can spread.

To be honest, I have no idea! I don't know enough about Reynaud's to say yes or no. If I have time, I'll do some research and get back to you :)
