I must say, of all the puertorican cooking channels I've watched here, yours is by far my absolute favorite. One because it's the closest to my style of cooking I've seen, and it's VERY AUTHENTIC puertorican. I did pick up on some new ideas and tips from your channel. Like putting the sofrito in ice trays. And not adding water. Brilliant! I have always added just a little water to get the mix going in my processor. I too, like you prefer the food processor for a nice consistency and texture. I will be binge watching all your videos! Lol. Thank u for sharing with us! Can't wait to see what other new ideas I can learn from you. Thanks again!!!

I agree is more old style cooking like my mother thought me too. And is sad that the new generation don’t unless we teach them starting them young. And the flavor is amazing.

Hi, I made this albondiga receipe for my mom today lol and she loved them. Thank you for sharing your delicious puerto rican recipes. Recently I had to leave my life in NYC to become my mother's caregiver due to illness and I have to cook for her so since she is a traditional puerto rican woman that use to make everything you can think of from Puerto Rico, I have to step up to my game and wow her. :-) Thanks again.

Hi, I have a question. These spanish meat balls. Do you eat them with white rice? Or spaghetti? I'm sorry that this is a dumb question but I really don't know. :-/

    • @sweetsandbeyond
      @sweetsandbeyond  9 років тому

Cindy Villacis It's not. I usually serve it with rice. Either white rice or rice and beans.

      1 lbs grounded beef
1 cup Italian style bread crumbs
      2 tablespoons Green Sofrito
      4oz tomato sauce
      2 tablespoons of milk
1/4 cup white onion finely chopped
1/4 cup Green bell pepper finely chopped
      2 garlic cloves, chopped
      2 tablespoons canola oil
      1 packet of Sazon Goya
      Adobo for taste - teaspoon
      1 egg
      1 cup of water
Mix-meat, teaspoon of adobo, 1/2 of onions, a little of bell pepper, about 1 clove of garlic. Smush it done. Add 1/2 of the bread crumbs, egg, a little bit of the milk. Mix. More bread crumbs. Smell it, do you smell meat or seasons? Should smell seasonings. Form meatballs. About 17. Frying pan medium-high heat, oil, brown the meatballs - not fully cooked. Remove meatballs,Do not remove oil, saute rest of onions, bell pepper, green sofrito. Smells good? Little oregano and cumin perhaps. Add tomato sauce, mix, sazon, water. Add meatballs, medium-low to a boil, cover 15-20 minutes.
