I accidently ordered my BigBoy in with the whitewall wheels, I also would rather have it all blacked out but have grown to like it a bit. That shot at 4 minutes showing off the whitsle is really cool with the cars and buildings in the background all bokeh'd out!
You know it’s interesting you mentioned that about the white walls. I seem to have grown to like them too. I think it give the model some character. Oh that does look neat in the background of the whistle demonstration! Thank you for watching!
Very impressive, well detailed and handsome looking UP fef class 4-8-4 model, I really like this model and especially the versions that are equipped with the "two tone gray/greyhound" style paint scheme. Excellent analysis detailed observation video of the UP fef class and I would like to own one of these models, but first I need to find additional ways of earning more $$ to be able to afford one of these locomotives. These locomotives will take a heavy chunk out of your wallet and I have seen that these fef class engines are priced at around $550-600 so it will be a while before I own one of these UP fef series locomotives. I am a big fan of UP rr steam power and this fef series 4-8-4 is a must have model for any UP rr steam fan- Tom.
I agree this model was very well done. These models are quite expensive. Fortunately I found a decent deal on this one. Thank you for the compliment on my video. Thank you for watching as well. I do appreciate it. I hope are able to obtain one in the future as it will make addition to anyone’s collection.
Awesome video! Broadway Limited did do a great job on this amazing locomotive. Also I was wondering if you know if you could run this loco with a Bachmann EZ command dcc controller and if so then I was wondering if you could do all functions and sounds with that dcc controller.
Thank you for watching and the compliment! Yes you can run the model on that controller. I think to be able to control all the functions, you need to press the function button to change the function from (1-9) to (10-19) to (20-29). If you haven’t bought that Bachmann controller yet, I highly recommend you get the Digitrax DCS52. It’s only a few dollars than the Bachmann.
Sweet video! I bought one of these about a year ago and the decoder blew up because of running it on dc. Where are those pacific fruit express boxcars from?
Thank you! That’s interesting, I didn’t think running on DC would damage the decoder. The cars are from Athearn. Really old runs of the RTR from maybe 10 years ago. Thanks for watching!
Does anybody know how prototypically accurate this version is? Specifically the marker lights on the tender. I currently own the Athearn version and I'm thinking about picking up one of these but I'd rather not if it's less accurate.
It took me a while to attempt do research. I really couldn’t find much on the marker lights. I cross examined photos and both models and both seem to be very close to prototype.
The mars light was removed due to its mounts were in very poor conditions. My opinion they should have stole the one from UP383, and installed it to 844. Because 844 looks ugly without it.
Absolutely amazing video! I can say that Broadway Limited really outdid themselves on this one! Keep up the great work and happy railroading!
Thank you very much! This one is great! Have a good one!
Love that engine and great video as usual!!! Have an awesome night! -Ken
Thank you for watching! It has become one of my favorite models!

Keep up the amazing content. I subscribed! I like how this model throws smoke. I was gonna get the Athearn Genesis version.
Thank you! I appreciate that! Yeah these BLI models are great! I was going to get a Genesis model too, but I just love the smoke feature.

Is the only difference between this version of 844 and the most modern version the mars light on the front?
I did some research and it seems that the mars light is the only difference. Thank you for watching!

what turns the mars on?
F 24 controls the mars light.
