Great condensed information!!! Also it seems that shaking smoke fluid , and dispensing to loco just before operation seems to result in more visible smoke.
Crazy idea of the day, but have you guys thought about looking into a new trend popping up in the underground using micro water humidifiers? Its surprising just how fine a mist the small peizoelectric electronics can make. It removes the heating unit and fan all at once. I think a certain mixture of water and other ingredients are needed to get the best output thought. I'd recommend looking at TRSTrains here on youtube for examples of how it looks. They somehow got cylinder smoke in oo, i think you can do it for ho as well.
The Shroud Should Have Been Made & Designed In Die-Cast For The Smoke Fluid Reservoir Unit. So The 2 Die-Cast Would Not Been Bad For The Steam Locomotive's 🚂
@Broadway Limited Imports LLC I don't understand why your diesel models have to have smoke?? It's not a steam locomotive yes a Diesel does put out exhaust fumes but it's diesel smoke fumes and it doesn't smoke the whole entire time like steam engines. Can we please see improvements with these smoke units please there not up to par.
Is there any way to change a paragon 2’s smoke unit fan speed? I got a old paragon 2 engine far out of warranty and not one I originally bought from you, the fan for some reason really is not getting enough power to spin it self, I can push it a bit and it’ll turn but stop.
what is cv?? I have a nice power can and I have no idea what this means. Also I just got a blow big boy 2024 and the smoke isint chuffing with the sound, how do I fix it?
CV is a Configuration Variable, these re settings in a DCC decoder that allow customizing operational behavior, such as max speed, acceleration rate, etc. Can get very technical for some CVs.
Broadway limited I want you to fix this in the newer A-classes first of all the smoke unit burns through the die cast and you can’t even use smoke please fix this! And start selling them again and making them that’s the only problem anyways amazing model just again please start selling them to model trainsorld maybe or something
Like there not up to par with what Mth or Lionel does??? Why can other manufacturers have no issues and your smoke units are literally destroying engines both diesel and Steam a lot of qc issues are happening my question to you is are you aware of these issues do you know what's happening to your products are you fully aware that these problems ARE ACTUALLY HAPPENING to peoples models this is not a subject to just shrug off it's not if these customizations actually are legit and work??? How about upgrading them so they don't blow up on us or just SCRAP them ENTIRELY if they are flawed then they don't WORK if you can prove these mods can actually function correctly and work properly I will gladly use your models....if not then scrap the smoke units and I probably WONT buy your models if you DON'T CHANGE ie use a different sound Decoder different from Paragon 4 like TCS WOWSTEAM or ESU LOKSOUND V5 STEAM FILE something????? It would definitely make a HUGE DIFFERENCE please and thank you thank you for your time I hope this information helps you and informs you- Joshua Martin Smith.
Hi Josh, thanks for your comments. We certainly appreciate your passion for model railroading! We actually sell a good amount of diesels with smoke. In a recent survey we released a while ago, around 2,900 people gave us feedback. What we found out was a lot of customers like smoke in their steam/diesel locomotives. Additionally, other manufacturers have had similar issues to which we have had. In regards to your thoughts and comments on the smoke unit itself. We see a small number of locomotives get returned for smoke unit failure. We aren't saying it doesn't happen, it does, but the number is very small. This was a big issue in Paragon 3. When we launched Paragon 4 it fixed a lot of the problems we had with Paragon 3. Like I said it still happens from time to time, but part of the reason for posting this video was to show not only the customizations you can do, but to also make customers aware they can individually control how hot the heating element can get. The CV's are listed in the description. When a smoke unit fails and causes damage to your model, our service department is more than happy to correct the problem and fix it. They know our models like the back of their hands! They all went to school for electrical and mechanical engineering and can fix anything (literally). As for the sounds, around 75% of participants in the survey love the sounds from our Paragon 4 line. Part of the reason why we launched the Stealth line was to accommodate modelers who prefer after market decoders. If Stealth sells well, we are committed to keep offering it for future projects. Finally, I've only worked at BLI for about a month now, being a BLI customer before working here. I assure you that I along with everyone at our offices are always looking for ways to make our models better. We certainly appreciate our customers and work hard to provide some of the best locomotives out there. I hope this gives you some answers. - Curtis
@@BroadwayLtdTrains I didn't see any Stealth options for the Paragon4 line. Only for the brass hybrids. This really doesn't accommodate modelers very well. Not all of us can afford brass-anything. I thought the whole point of Stealth was to offer them for ALL the product lines?? We should be able to have that option for ALL steam models moving forward. Otherwise, what's the point?
@@dalecherne5377 yes it is coming to all lines diecast Paragon 4 included. For example the GS-4’s will be made in Stealth next year. Our Paragon 4 SD40’s, F3, F7, GP30 and GP35 will be offered in Stealth as well
Hate to say this but this is outdated tech that hurts the platic shells on alot of bli locos. with these new water smoke units that dont require a fan or heating element makes it safer for your locos

I have some Diesels that do smoke, there's a switch that turns off the smoker
What are the Values for these CVs? They are not in my book and i can seem to find them. Thanks
