    Just wanna ask about the mustang harness did you change it or did you use the same one off the mark??

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  5 років тому

      Used my GT harness and computer. The harness needs to be modified. The coil wiring needs to be rerouted and extended for the 4v COP setup. For the IAC and TPS I pulled them farther out of the harness. The ECM will need to be tuned

    Really nice work brother. I'm a hard core Lincoln Mark guy. I have a 98 Mark 8 with the IMRC issue where check engine light is on and will not rev past 3000 rpm. I've removed IMRC plates cleaned them and still have the same issue. My question is how can you clean inside the ports on the engine?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  3 роки тому

      Well I would say you would need to remove the entire intake assembly. And in the round ports that maybe clogged use like a pick to break up the carbon and a shop vac. That way you don't get to much of it in the cylinder. What is your error code?

    • @NomadGT

      Also replace the gaskets

    Is there anyway to prevent that carbon build up? when you say butterfyls are you referring to the IRMC, or the actual throttle body?
    Sounds like pulling the intake every 5,000 miles would suck

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому +2

      +TenchFries yes the IRMC. The issue is that there is only fuel going into one port. The other has no fuel to wash it out. If you use a oil catch can it should help.

    • @tenchfries2124
      @tenchfries2124 6 років тому

      frogive me if you mentioned this in the video, but did you delete the IRMC's? and if so how? or if you kept them how did you make them work?
      1 more thing, I've read that if I reuse my GT MAF and 19lb injectors, the car will run semi-decently without a tune. I also read a Cobra MAF with 24lbs will adjust to the injectors and run decent as well. Then I have heard none of it will work well at all. I know a tune is necessary, especially a dyno, so how did you go about it?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому +1

      +TenchFries I deleted the butterflies in the IMRCs. If you want to keep them you would have to wire an rpm switch to them. I used a cobra MAF and 24lbs inj from a mach 1. The car ran rich with the stock tune. I got an xcal2 and had VMP do the custom tune. I then swapped to a Mach 1 MAF and returned the harness back yo stock.

    Did the mark exhaust manifolds work or did you get new ones?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому

      No. You would need to get cobra/Mach set of manifolds.

  • @derekgibson5967

    How exactly did you make the bracket to get to zip tie on to the Mach 1 fuel rail? Do you have a pic so I can reference?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому +1

      +Derek Gibson the tabs were removed from the mark and the Mach rail. Then holes were drilled into the mark tabs. Then zipped tied and in weld. Ran it for 4yrs never had issues.

    I have a 2000 GT With a Mark 8 motor swap I recently purchased. EGR system was deleted and I am working ot try and put it all back together to pass emissions. Is a tune usually needed to have these pass emissions? Is a custom egr tube needed if I am using the stock 97+ MK8 intake?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  Рік тому

      Yes a custom tube will have to be fabricated

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  Рік тому

      Yes a tune would need to be done if you have it deleted unless your driving around with your eng light on. You'd need to have it turned on

    I have a 95 Mark 8 engine. I want to put in my car now I'm not sure on intake manifold that would fit the 4-valve heads. Any ideas?

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому +1

      If you wanna stay on the cheaper side the you can use the 2nd gen Mark intake. You need the throttle and cruise cables. You can use the 96-98 cobra intake. You need the cables as well.

    Hi I'm doing the MarkVIII 32v swap in my 2000gt.... My question is what flywheel to use since I'm using the five speed tranny on the mark engine....part# would help...does it have go be a dohc flywheel?!?!

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому

      Use your gt flywheel (I take it that is the Manual). Make sure you install a pilot bearing in the crank, as the Mark VIII is an auto. If your GT has a Windsor motor then you will have to get a 6 bolt flywheel.

    What hapen if I use the 21 pounds injectors from the Mac and the Mack iac

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  2 роки тому

      So sry for the OVERLY late response. I hope you were able to get your questions answered. My answer would have been yes you could use them but the potential of hp and tq would be limited lower than the oe 24lbs. The IAC from say a stock gt made different and uses a external air bypass (the port that connects to the intake hose). The mark and all other 4v uses an internal air bypass that goes thru the intake and thru the throttle body. Use can use a GT one but would need a Bullitt TB.

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  10 місяців тому

      I would look into aftermarket fuel rails for that as well as the coolant crossover delete. Basically the harness modifications are similar. But your 98 had a coil blocks and so the harness setup is a bit different. There is someone in the 4.6 builders forum on FB that makes adapters for COP conversions.. unless you wanna keep the spark plugs wires. Your factory ecm can be used. I would use SCT for the tune.

    So where do I get the wire harness that has the second camshaft sensor? That’s my only issue I have swapping heads aside from the brake booster getting in my way.

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  6 років тому

      Adam I'm not sure what you asking brother. The harness you can use that will make life simpler in the long run is that of the GT. If you are swapping into a 99-04 use its wire harness. If 96-98 use that. The 4.6l has one crank sensor and one cam sensor. The crank sensor harness is shared with the A/C clutch connector.

    • @AdamAve93
      @AdamAve93 6 років тому

      ok sorry i swear i was told that the DOHC had a cam sensor for both the intake and exhaust cams. So if there is only the one cam sensor then I have nothing to worry about.

      question im doing this swap into a 97 if i get the whole top off of a 98 cobra would it make it more of a direct swap instead of trying to tweak the marc top

    • @NomadGT
      @NomadGT  8 років тому

      +Ran Ware the upper end should be a direct swap. The cobra upper would work fine on you 97. But keep this in mind the oil pickup and pump are different than the two valve engine. Replace your water pump with an updated pump. Remember though the IMRCs will need to be deleted, or wired up to an rpm window switch to make them work. You will need a MAF from the cobra as well. Make sure you get everything. Cables etc.
