STOCKING MUSKIES IN MADISON!! - SHOP TALK

HELLO AND WELCOME BACK to another DIFFERENT episode of Shop Talk! In this week's video, we join the Capital City Chapter of Muskies Inc and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in tagging and stocking 600 Wisconsin River strain muskies into Lake Monona. You don't have to be a biologist to be a part of the action - anyone can help! I would like to give a HUGE thank you and shout out to Cap City Muskies Inc for their hard work and collaboration with the WIDNR to make the Madison Chain an incredible muskie fishery (along with so many other species).

Years ago, I helped Twin Cities chapter stock White Bear Lake. We didn't do pit tags, but the fish were 20 to 30 inches.

Damn I miss fishing in madison. Great fishery. Do they still stock leech lake strain fish at all? I see multiple fish over 50" are the leech lake strains

The Muskies released in lake Monona do they get in to lake Mendota? If not does the DNR stock Muskies in lake Mendota? Great video!!!

No stocking of Muskies in Mendota since it's managed as a trophy pike fishery. There's a FEW in there, but not a targetable population
