one of the coolest things about this for me is Roxon's willingness to double down on making niche implements for their systems. I may have to pick one of these up just for that fold out ruler and make a bladeless setup
This is perfect because I find myself always needing a ruler. Also could just have the empty shank for when I just need something sharp besides scissors; just stop by the hardware store to buy one.
Package hook is wonderful for camping like for untying knots, grabbing hot lids, pots cups. To quick hang the knife. Im glad they sharpend the end, it makes marking round sticks easier. Carrying fire wood. Pulling on knots to make them tighter. And my fav pulling out tent stakes with out pain. When you start using the package hook and then you don't have it you really start to miss it badly. And carring 2 knifes don't always work out. Don't think of it as just a package hook but a very useful tiny hand. Ps. I do like that ice pick looking tool.
I always like package openers like one the Leatherman Free series I can open packages and keep my main blade clean and sharp and I tend to open stuff like drinks either plastic wrapped around the cap and other stuff it’s satisfying
Ha, the line at the end about comparison. Yep, that was my question. I'd love to see it in a lineup with a few of the Victorinox knives, maybe the Tinker, Super Tinker and one of the small ones like a Rambler. What does it weigh with long tools? Man, I'm excited! Love that Roxon is listening and innovating. That long ruler with a magnet? Fabulous.
He totally skipped over the fact that the "ruler" tool has an angle-measuring compass where the curved cut is... I think the magnet locks to the middle and you swing the arms to reach the measured/desired angle.
Regarding the hook, my first thought was “spring puller”. Folks who ride motorcycles probably know that the side stand has a spring (many times two nested springs) which hold the stand up, and a tool like that could be helpful in removing/installing them. I’ve generally done it with something more t-handled so I’d need to try it to be sure.
🙋🏻♂I'm the someone who uses a marlinspike like 3-4 times a week! We have rabbits, and the bougie bunny hay they need comes in plastic bags with the tightest knots you've ever seen. I've started carrying a sailor's knife that I don't love because I need it so often. I've thought about buying a Victorinox First Mate, but those are hard to find and go for like $600 nowadays. This is going to be a game-changer for me. Can't wait to be able to carry my Spyderco Delica again! Please thank Roxon for making that an option!
I’m also someone that needs a marlin spike. This would be a cool tool for rock climbing and caving. Sometimes knots get so tight that you have to cut the rope. So a tool with a marlin spike and a knife that also keeps the blade locked in so it doesn’t accidentally deploy is everything we need.
@@trollmcclure1884 They hay is in kitchen garbage bag sized plastic bag with the top section of plastic twisted together and tied in an overhand knot. I tried cutting it the first time, but there wasn't enough material left to close it with a twist tie. Again, it's probably a less than 1% problem, but exactly the type of thing a marlin spike is perfect for.
Tell them to combine the bottle opener and can opener. Most people probably can't justify an entire slot to just one, but lots of people would probably use it if you could get both on a single slot
Cool idea but I think because it's a modular tool you could just carry it around with you in a pouch and swap them out as needed. That's one of the big points of this. You can set it the permanently, or you can make it a fluid to where you can change the load out at the drop of a hat. For example I don't need a tea shank adapter every single day, but those 2-3 times a month that I do I am very much glad I have it. But it wouldn't be in my main implements locked and ready to go with this. So IDK I feel having a combo tool for a modular tool is a bit redundant. But that's just me of course, I'm willing to carry extra tools with me ( already do for the t-shank adapter so why not a few more) in a just in case scenario lol
Well done Roxon! I have been using their knife/spoon/fork set for months while camping. I didn't even know there was a modular multi-tool. I LOVE modular items!! This is definitely a must have for me. Modularity=less waste, better versatility and more customization. Which is exactly what I need.
Roxon's modular multitools are a game changer. I like the sewing kit, comb, and folding ruler. Leatherman should have thought of that ruler and t-shank in the Arc.
I used to think the same about bottle openers, but having one is good for when youre at a get together. Easy to pass around and people dont have to wonder how to use it.
I like the fact that the blades and what not come out, I can see the purpose of this multitool and since you can get all the extra bits and bobs separately, it makes sense that you’re getting a handle plus all the bits and bobs that you could possibly wantand just keep those bits and bobs as extras. You know in a separate case if you will and you can have the whole thing they’re like a multitool, but think of it as a toolbox but miniature sized.
The depth gauge / file could easily also be a bottle opener / can opener / package opener / file / flat head / pry - all on one. I think the whole system is amazing, but I wish they would also double up some tools. I could also see a fine / diamond file on the reamer making it more useful too. That could pack in 5-9 more features right on the blades already in the system.
The biggest things im waiting for before hopping on the flex system are more scissor variations, big ones like on other roxon and nextool tools. Taking up multiple slots, and some very very fine cuticle scissors.
What would be really nice is a scissors-centric 2-arm model. They have some non-modular multitools that have scissors instead of the pliers. I don't see a reason they couldn't do a Flex frame like that. In fact it would probably let you hold a lot more long tools.
Ah it finally arrived. I still would like they do more tools but the companion is great if you want a multitool with only the long implements. I'm just glad they listened to the comments, improved their stuff before official release. I would like to see an hammer/nail puller/carabiner/opener version of it. A large version with 2x5 slots. As for tools Eye glass driver 1 short slot Eye glass driver bit storage with 4 bits 2 short slots A tooth pick box 2 short slots (can be used for matches, fire rod etc...) A large box 4 short slots A square 1/4" sog style 2 short slots A flex head 180° 1/4" driver 2~3 short slots A Leatherman bit adapter ? 2 short slots A combo can / bottle opener flat driver tool 1 short slot A pry tool / opener / nail puller 2 short slots A thin utility knife holder 1 long slot A 5mm triangle key 3 short slots A mini rechargeable piezzo butane lighter 2~3 short slots A nail clipper 2 short slots Electrician blade 1 short slot A metal brush holder 2 short slots A flat fork 1 short slot A multi wrench 2~3 short slots A twin thin bubble level 2 short slots Folding short tools with 2 slots Scissors Thin pliers Wire stripper pliers Câble cutter Electronic tools USB C rechargeable A volty style meter 2 short slots A light 2 short slots A mini pressure gauge 3~4 short slots A distance meter 4 short slots A water proof usb A and C drive 2 short slots A special sheath with pouches to hold a few tools, large pliers based tool and a tool like the companion or KS2E Some of the ideas might be better in a dedicated MT mosly the Electronic part but well these are ideas anyways 😊.
It is a surprising development. I love my KS2 E (I am carrying it right now😂). Being able to choose what implements will make all the difference for me for going to different places. Really love it.
Parcel hook is more useful outdoors than otherwise. It lets you grab wire handles of pots without the need to carry a dedicated tool, and it will hold the loop of a wire while making snares. In more common everyday settings it's mostly useful on a farm than on a lightrail. It does things like picture hanging, handling screw eyes, and for grabbing anything that'll tend to dig into your fingers.
This looks amazing, I’m so hype. The Flex is great, it’s a great tool I can keep in my bag and not worry about having to accidentally commit a crime by taking a blade somewhere it shouldn’t be, but it’s a bit heavy for pocket carry IMO.
Finally, something without a bottle opener. Because every multitool *has* to have bottle opener, I have with me at least 3 of them at any given time. In current landscape of multitools, this is the tool I really don't need to see everywhere!
Or a can opener. Despite having lots of them on various implements, when camping, I either didn't take cans or I took a proper can opener out the kitchen.....so I wouldn't miss that.
Victorinox-style bottle opener is my most used tool after pliers. Not for bottles of course but as screwdriver and pry - perfect size and thickness. The least used is scissors - I have Classic SD exclusively for fingernails on the go and never ever used any other multitool's scissors lol
@@parawaxx Those little scissors are great for trimming your nails and 'stache if you don't have a nail-clipper on you. I love the little things! It's so great to be able to customise a tool so that it can be both perfect for you, and perfect for me. 😁

I rather would have seen a double sided file, but as a base toolset everyone should find something useful in there. My inner voice already cries for a utility knife and a t-shank holder. ^^ As i understand international shipping is done by their distributors Amazon and Aliexpress, so we plebs from outside the US have to wait a while for the goodies to come to us.
I love this configuration, and the extras. I (and more specifically my partner) are those people who the marlin spike is for. When they first launched the flex, it was one of The items that I requested they add in their suggestion form. Can't wait to get this in hand!
There is so much to like about this, well done. I especially like the fid, T-Shank, and scapel blade holders. The TSA Safe tools could use some color Identifier (maybe green along the spine) so that its easier for them to identify which tools are in the handle. Would have liked to see rulers integrated on the scales of the tool along with Hi Vis Orange and FDE colorations. After the success of this model please collaborate to make a XL version with a reciprocating saw blade holder instead of the T shank, longer tools, more robust locks, and a 14c28n Blade. Once again, Job Well done!
It's okay. Features I'd like to see in future versions: 0. Looks basic, may be better aesthetics... 1. Less bulky frame, may be a frame that could grow /shrink with the loaded implements ... 2. Better materials, more blade steel options, serrated, diamond file, etc. 3. Flashlight, or those flashing lights you see on cycles 4. Small Pliers
basic is ideal. I'd like one with bright scales I can see in the dark. I don't want fancy for a knife or multi-tool, I want one that says 'abuse me, I'm a tool, not a luxury item'
Questions: 1. When will the Flex Companion ship to the UK? (Feeling left out, over here.) 2. Will there be an introductory discount for UK/EU buyers when they do, to match the one currently available for US buyers? 3. Will it come in any other colours? Black is the best colour if you enjoy losing your tool, or not being able to find it on a dark morning with the lights low so as not to wake anyone else. Also, some of us like a bit of colour (color😉👍).
Wow!! I mean Wow!!! Very proactive design, someone really broke the mold here. I am a fan... I have stood by my Victorinox Minichamp now for ages. This is a little bigger and a whole lot more endowed. Great review as usual, I feel bad for GOAT, I just do not see the same calibre of design and execution that I can see here.
A locking bit driver in a non-pliers multi tool? Wow. FINALLY. Modular, t-shank adapter, great selection of tools. Shut up and take my money. Will this unset Victorinox at long last? We'll find out when my preorder arrives in November!
Felix Immler has a video with 13 uses of the parcel hook on SAK. It seems like one of the reasons why it's stuck around so long is that in Switzerland a lot of times parcels and bundles are wrapped in twine and having the parcel hook that pivots from the middle of a SAK makes it a lot easier to carry. (Hence why they're commonly called "parcel" hooks.) His video shows a lot of uses that would still apply to the Roxon Companion's hook. I always carry a custom two-layer SAK with a parcel hook for pull tabs and the like since I keep my nails trimmed really short.
I've also seen people use the parcel hooks for tightening two things together with a metal wire. I have never personally used the hook like that... or really at all other than to wow people. As for the folding ruler I suddenly want to see a Victorinox knife with a foldable ruler. The Swiss Champ I have has a little 3 inch ruler on the fish scaler and fishing hook, and it just feels too short at times lol.
@@Vevvev8 Wire tightener does sound like the reason it was originally included in some folding knives as it's not only a useful tool, but also hard to replace.
The biggest differentiator between this and a SAK is the locking, in-line driver, so a video comparing the companion to a "MultiForce pocket knife mod" and a single-handle SQT/DL7 pocket knife mod would be great 👍🏼
Looks good. This addresses the issue I had with the KS2 with the knife blade as a right hander. If the KS2 was in my front right pocket, it was way too easy for the blade to open into my pocket since it was facing inward. In fact it happened when I tried putting some keys in the same pocket as one of them got caught on the thumb stud. The KS2 became a solely rear right pocket carry for me since the blade would be up against the side of the pocket and couldn't accidentally open. Would've been nice if they just made the pocket clip reversible, but the flex companion at least looks like it completely fixes that issue for me, plus it's modular.
Hook: used for grabbing cables behind a cabinet, pulling a ceiling fan cable if you are short, tightening knots, opening a drawer when the handle breaks... etc..
Nice, this is almost exactly what I asked for. I was thinking of it being longer like the half of a pliers multitool instead of taller, but I can see why they went this way as it is closer to their existing tool and does allow them to have more long tools. Not the tools I plan to start with, but that is okay as I know my desires for this are very niche. It is why I really wanted the modular system for this kind of tool so I could get that configuration. I think they did a good job. Now they need to follow Ben Peterson and open source the scales so people can customize that too.
I went back and looked for my feedback on what I requested as a dream tool when I saw the flex, and they really made exactly what I asked for. I wanted to have 2 long implements and 3 short implements (they let you have 5 of any size which is really cool). I wanted a bit driver on the opposite side, and said I would be happy if it was built in and not removable (which is what they did). What I just noticed is I called my little dream tool a woodworker companion. And they called it Flex companion!! Now I am not saying I named it, but it is cool to think they might have seen that feedback and it gave that name an implicit vote.
I'm eagerly waiting for it being available in my country. Here I was able to get the Flex with tools included for like $46 The tools are: • knife blade • can opener • bottle opener • awl • small file with a ruller • scissors • phillips driver (not a bit holder) • rope cutter • chisel + the frame (obviously) And it is still available for that price, which is awesome.
So I am an avid supporter of the parcel hook on Victorinox Swiss Army knives. One very useful almost daily task. I use them for is carrying out trash bags. If they’re a very heavy trash bag, I’ll use the hook and carry that way. Issue with this tool, it seems like everything will be in line. With victorinox, the hook and several others, make it a handle. Very, very amazing innovation in EDC!
I like the versatility of the system. things like blade holder, bit driver, and even the brush holder would be a nice secondary tool for work (field IT) get you a small belt clip bit set and add your more common bits, the brush for cleaning off photo eye sensors and you would be surprised how often you need to alter a plastic facia because of abuse and inappropriate wear.
I don't think Victorinox should be concerned. The design language and aesthetic simplicity of their knives is still unmatched. They are both utilitarian and elegant. This looks great for enthusiast EDC users but that is a smaller market than who Victorinox sell to.
@@DukeandDrummond The thing is victorinox is a well established brand but when you search for customization, and some people wants a custom SAK it leads to a certain frustration here. This solves many issues with this and you can get things impossible to have with a victorinox to some extent (I know there is alternatives for vic's but they aren't available out of the box) like a 1/4" driver. Besides many people would like to order Victorinox a custom model, and that means a lot.
The tools are removable, seems like a good idea to put in one of the multi-sized nut wrenches. You could use you pliers on one side and remove the wrench and use it separately on the other side. Also, something that would drive price and production up...scales that can double as storage for t-shank and scalpel blades...or kindling (i see there is a ferro rod) But that is just being silly/fun.
I use the hook on victorinox to pull metal stakes out of the ground. We use pop up tents at kids sporting evens all the time and I find it very useful.
I just ordered the Companion Tool and a few implements using the link. This looks like it will be a very nice tool. I just made 2 modifications today to tools (file and scissors) on the Flex, which made a big difference. While not P series or ARC quality the Flex is a fun tool!
If they make a Flex with the scissors from the S801/S802, I'll grab it immediately. The S802 with the box cutter is almost perfect for me, but I want a bit driver. I definitely wouldn't mind swapping the saw for a T-shank holder so that I can replace the blade, but that's lower priority for me.
I probably would not utilize it. Although the D2 blade it is intriguing! However, my nephew loves to take things apart and put them together. I think this would be a phenomenal gift! Thanks.
I use the hook on my Victorinox to help loosen knots, the corkscrew is useful for that also. Oh, and for pulling stuck zippers, or digging out zippers when they get tucked in a fold like at the bottom of your blue jean's fly.
I gotta say. ROXON for me is literally competing with Leatherman. The Flex is carried about 30% of my time. The one handed blade was my only problem. Now that is solved.
@@aoobbb agreed. It’s odd that scissors rather than a knife blade, driver etc would come to be most useful for me but 100% they are. Saw is useless to me except (apologies, gross) using the non tooth edge as tongue scraper 😊
@@robbo1415 Not the only one that finds the saw a bit of a waste of space. It's cool to have, dream of using, etc, but it's still one of the tools I have yet to really use. The nail file on my SAK surprised me as being one of my most used tools, which I thought for sure would go unused. Same with the toothpick.... I never realized how useful just having a toothpick on hand is lol.
My paramedic life wants the seatbelt cutter, a glass cutting saw, a better shear, a spring loaded glass breaker, a safty blade with round edges, a serrated knife blade, a carabiner to attache the tool and a fire extinguisher.
You should make a pair of shears that are spring loaded to change out for the pliers, but not cheap one but shears like you had from Amazon in your video. Perfectly capable of pruning plants and cutting metal
i dislike most Chinese companies because they lack originality, innovation and some times ethic, but this one... i am just gonna say is worth standing up and applause. This modular tool in my opinion would be absolutely perfect to add to your existing edc so you can add exactly those tools you're missing that may be very specific, in my own personal case i used to carry a leatherman surge but now i carry a Gerber dualforce so a t shank holder would fit my needs perfectly. Thanks roxon and thanks Dominic for this high quality videos. Greetings from mexico
As someone who travels on planes on a weekly basis, this is very appealing to being able to remove blades and other non compliant items for the airport.
Agree. I usually bring my Leatherman Style PS through TSA since my usual keychain tool (Victorinox mini champ) has blades. The ability to have a single tool with lots of options for bladeless use is quite appealing. If checking baggage you could then just put the blades in the checked bags and still have a tool with you.
There’s a kickstarter campaign for a conceptually similar product (Zen) that is supposed to ship in November. Roxon has an advantage though because of the Flex compatibility and being a known brand. Would be interesting to see comparison between them.
The Zen looks really nice. I like how compact it looks. Only thing I don't like is that it appears you have to use your nail to access everything but the knife. The little slider Roxon has to push out the tools is a very nice feature. I've been spoiled by that and the Leatherman free series for ease of use and I don't wanna go back!
The hook allows carrying buckets with skinny bails without hurting your hand. Same with bags that have string handles. You can grab cordage to tie up, for instance, kindling and then carry it with the hook. There are other uses, but turning the knife into a handle is a big one.
LOL, I couldn't agree with you more about leaving a bottle opener off! I mean, I'd rather have anything else versus a bottle opener. Bottle openers, are archaic in my opinion, YMMV.
I have the Flex and when I saw this email I thought this is exactly what I needed. I just preordered it. I love the Flex and it's really well made. At $50.00 this is a deal.
Potential tools to add: FLASHLIGHT: high output LED with replaceable lithium battery PRUNING SHEERS: with spring PLIERS A Time Machine so that I can retroactive cancel my order for any other EDC
The pliers would be a small set of needle nose with a return spring. Probably have to be 3 slot. The pruning sheets-I’m thinking maybe a two slot heavier snip than the scissors with a return spring. Either 2 or 3 slot. It would be nice if we could get a flashlight built into the scales so it would shine on the working area with tools deployed. It would be nice if there were slim and wide bodies to for either more or less slots.
Foldable ruler looks mehhh. I would trade it for usual telescopic rod with magnet and small hook on the end to get small things out of inconvenient places.
This is looking really great. As someone that owns the Elite and a LOT of Victorinox knives, Roxon is killing it. Can't wait for this to come out just in time for the holidays!
İ have 4 implement suggestions; Corcscrew maybe for tshank, Hammer, Spork tshank or normal modular, 4mm/Leatherman flat bit adapter. Can you suggest these implements to Roxon, i think these will be great and useful, and mostly, many people use these things
This is an absolute game changer. I completely agree about the bottle opener. I think companies add it so they can advertise a greater number of features. I would much rather have fewer features that are actually useful than more features that are useless
So I preordered bc I love Roxon. But I didn't see how to choose between left and right handed options. Also they asked if they could leave a positive review on my behalf if no one leaves a review after a certain time, and that I would be able to change it afterwards. I really like Roxon but that is sketchy.
Would love if they added a USB-memorystick, and since its replaceable, when ever there are leaps in technology it can be replaced The brush can be awesome for office carry, to clean those keyboards
That hook is also to help pry out hooks from your fishes. If you go fishing, it’s a type of gouge to remove hooks that are inside of fish’s mouth among other things.
@@blade9292 i keep a small 1.5" paint brush in the door-pocket of all my vehicles. Whenever I'm stuck in traffic or sitting parked somewhere for an extended period, I can pull out the paint brush and start cleaning off my dash and detailing things. It's great to keep cleanliness a part of your v/edc! I can also see myself using these on the keyboard at work!
I wish they would add the ability to choose the side where the pocket clip is. I strongly prefer the side opposite to what it is now, such as the Free series from Leatherman.
Very nice and options are solid. My only wish would be for an option to upgraded primary knife blade or alternative knife blade steels in 14c28n or 154cm. The uncharge would be worth it for me.
The interesting thing is these have a 2D rather than 3D locking geometry, so I think it will be fairly easy to water jet knife blanks in any kind of steel. I think custom knife makers could easily make blades in almost any shape and in almost any steel. I think the third part market may grow around this system if it stays popular.
I am eagerly looking forward to this, I'm going to put together a utility selection to replace my pocket knife when flying. I really want a scissors based multi-tool in the flex system. I don't use pliers much but big scissors are always nice. I also really hope that people outside of roxon start making tools for this, especially higher quality blades. D2 is nice compared to most multi-tool options, but I'd spend a lot of money on a magnacut blade for this. Of course if roxon was the one to make that, I wouldn't complain either. It seems like they're actively encouraging it too, considering they sell tool blanks. I'm no good at making a knife, but I'm definitely buying a long and short blank just to have as a template for other stuff.

Oh, your right! I need to pull out the springs for my CVT transmission on my scooters. 😅
I'm one of those guys that use a hook on my SAK for exactly that!
It actually makes sense to me on non-pliers based multitools.
Ive used a SAK hook for that. That and pulling springs to connect them on guitars with old-fashioned tremelo systems.
It’s funny; using the SAK hook for that only occurred to me last night as I was falling asleep. :) any awkwardness with it or does it Just Work™ ?

Looking forward to more stuff from this project
Like scale tools
Lock picks/turning tools
Finger nail clippers/grooming tools
I want one for the companion I have a little multitool only for such things, they have 2 multitools with a clipper
As for tools
Eye glass driver 1 short slot
Eye glass driver bit storage with 4 bits 2 short slots
A tooth pick box 2 short slots (can be used for matches, fire rod etc...)
A large box 4 short slots
A square 1/4" sog style 2 short slots
A flex head 180° 1/4" driver 2~3 short slots
A Leatherman bit adapter ? 2 short slots
A combo can / bottle opener flat driver tool 1 short slot
A pry tool / opener / nail puller 2 short slots
A thin utility knife holder 1 long slot
A 5mm triangle key 3 short slots
A mini rechargeable piezzo butane lighter 2~3 short slots
A nail clipper 2 short slots
Electrician blade 1 short slot
A metal brush holder 2 short slots
A flat fork 1 short slot
A multi wrench 2~3 short slots
A twin thin bubble level 2 short slots
Folding short tools with 2 slots
Scissors
Thin pliers
Wire stripper pliers
Câble cutter
Electronic tools USB C rechargeable
A volty style meter 2 short slots
A light 2 short slots
A mini pressure gauge 3~4 short slots
A distance meter 4 short slots
A water proof usb A and C drive 2 short slots
A special sheath with pouches to hold a few tools, large pliers based tool and a tool like the companion or KS2E
Some of the ideas might be better in a dedicated MT mosly the Electronic part but well these are ideas anyways 😊.
wow! this list is crazy good!
@@maxlvledcI'm glad you like it, I might have forgot some stuff and I haven't talked about the many bases multitools I wanted to suggest 😊
Agreed
Anyways if people really want the opener so badly they can still get it and the plier based has it
Or a can opener.
As i understand international shipping is done by their distributors Amazon and Aliexpress, so we plebs from outside the US have to wait a while for the goodies to come to us.
I am with you on an HD frame design using same system.
It's okay. Features I'd like to see in future versions:
0. Looks basic, may be better aesthetics...
1. Less bulky frame, may be a frame that could grow /shrink with the loaded implements ...
2. Better materials, more blade steel options, serrated, diamond file, etc.
3. Flashlight, or those flashing lights you see on cycles
4. Small Pliers
#2 is already done for the Flex and can be bought separate if you like I think the blades are 6-8 dollars and files is something like 6
basic is ideal. I'd like one with bright scales I can see in the dark. I don't want fancy for a knife or multi-tool, I want one that says 'abuse me, I'm a tool, not a luxury item'
Questions:
1. When will the Flex Companion ship to the UK? (Feeling left out, over here.)
Outstanding! I'd really like to see a small wire stripper as opposed to the scissors. Because I miss my E-squirt.
Love the folding ruler with magnet 🧲. As far as the parcel hook, if you work around horses, it could be useful for cleaning the hooves.
Ooo! Good idea!
I've used a parcel hook to help tighten my ice skate laces :) it also helps to get tent stakes out of the ground whilst campin
The biggest differentiator between this and a SAK is the locking, in-line driver, so a video comparing the companion to a "MultiForce pocket knife mod" and a single-handle SQT/DL7 pocket knife mod would be great 👍🏼
SAK Cybertool 41
I hope they come out with a straight edge sheepsfoot (ie no belly)… but I’m overall very impressed!
Hook: used for grabbing cables behind a cabinet, pulling a ceiling fan cable if you are short, tightening knots, opening a drawer when the handle breaks... etc..
Pre-ordered. I absolutely love these guys. Gifted (previous versions)them to grand-kids and nefs. Obviously? This one is for me ha
I think your on to something about the scales! I'll see if they are game for that.
It would be cool if they added an option later down the road for different scale patterns/materials.
I'm eagerly waiting for it being available in my country.
Here I was able to get the Flex with tools included for like $46
The tools are:
• knife blade
• can opener
• bottle opener
• awl
• small file with a ruller
• scissors
• phillips driver (not a bit holder)
• rope cutter
• chisel
+ the frame (obviously)
And it is still available for that price, which is awesome.
We are working on expanding our shipping internationally, might take us some time. We will keep you notified on the same.
I can’t wait to get my hands on one as well as see what t-shank implements they come out with in the future
Truth
Trust me, Victorinox is watching this development like a hawk.
Especially now that they’re looking to make more bladeless tools because of the EU knife laws.
@@AlphaOmegaKnight77658 What EU knife laws?
The tools are removable, seems like a good idea to put in one of the multi-sized nut wrenches. You could use you pliers on one side and remove the wrench and use it separately on the other side.
Also, something that would drive price and production up...scales that can double as storage for t-shank and scalpel blades...or kindling (i see there is a ferro rod) But that is just being silly/fun.
Now all they need is a wider handle that holds 7 or 8 layers so I can have all the cool stuff in one tool!
I wish I had this in the army. The Victorinox knife issued sometimes just didn't have the right tools for different scenarios. This is a game changer.
I'd love to see a mini version that has the small tools!
Ah, so you mean only fits the short tools? That could be interesting
It would work well enough considering they have short scale versions of their knives@@maxlvledc
A modular keychain size tool would be sick
I use the hook on victorinox to pull metal stakes out of the ground. We use pop up tents at kids sporting evens all the time and I find it very useful.
I just ordered the Companion Tool and a few implements using the link. This looks like it will be a very nice tool. I just made 2 modifications today to tools (file and scissors) on the Flex, which made a big difference. While not P series or ARC quality the Flex is a fun tool!
Strange coincidence, I was on the Roxon web page looking at this earlier today.
I wish they did a long slot tool with the following: bottle opener, can opener, flathead, ruler (on the straight edge), and a wire stripper
Good idea!!!
I probably would not utilize it. Although the D2 blade it is intriguing! However, my nephew loves to take things apart and put them together. I think this would be a phenomenal gift!
Thanks.
Roxon needs replacement scales. The pin and tweezers could be held in a side scale like Victorinox.
I use the hook on my Victorinox to help loosen knots, the corkscrew is useful for that also. Oh, and for pulling stuck zippers, or digging out zippers when they get tucked in a fold like at the bottom of your blue jean's fly.
Ordered! Added a diamond file to get started! That brush kit might be handy.
Roxon are very innovative , especially compared to victorinox and leatherman. The quality is getting close as well.
You did an excellent job selling me a knife in the first couple of minutes of your first video, which I have ever seen!
That ruler was neet. 👍
I really like this. I carry a leatherman free T4 everyday but many times I've wished it had a saw. I like the idea of a diamond file too.
I gotta say. ROXON for me is literally competing with Leatherman. The Flex is carried about 30% of my time. The one handed blade was my only problem. Now that is solved.
The scissors is the decider for me. My Huntsman is always in pocket. This is interesting though.
SAK scissors are absolutely top notch. Wonder how these would compare.
If leatherman, victorinox and other major brands doesn't innovate. They will be overtaken by these Chinese companies.
You should make a pair of shears that are spring loaded to change out for the pliers, but not cheap one but shears like you had from Amazon in your video. Perfectly capable of pruning plants and cutting metal
Great idea
i dislike most Chinese companies because they lack originality, innovation and some times ethic, but this one... i am just gonna say is worth standing up and applause.
Cheers!
The hook would be useful for pulling long tent stakes out of hard ground. Definitely one I would consider for a camping setup
This is legit exciting. Might have to order one and those fishing tools to make a custom fishing tool!
Would be interesting to see comparison between them.
the Zen looks very high quality though.
They look to be using the exact same solution making it quite possible that the tools are interchangeable.
@@znail4675 nope lock is completely different
Bro imagine they put lock pics omg God I bought one pre-order but future add ons like a lock Pic set would win my heart even more
good idea, I'll mention it.
Very, very cool! I feel like the knife/multitool world has needed something to this effect for quite some time.
Mostly when the barman opens the bottle for you. But well i have some uses but it's nice to leave the opener for this one 😅
Exactly. In a world of PET bottles and twist-offs people who still use capped bottles (beer) are not using the bottle opener; it's beneath us.
I have the Flex and when I saw this email I thought this is exactly what I needed. I just preordered it. I love the Flex and it's really well made. At $50.00 this is a deal.
Potential tools to add:
FLASHLIGHT: high output LED with replaceable lithium battery
PRUNING SHEERS: with spring
PLIERS
A Time Machine so that I can retroactive cancel my order for any other EDC
Hahaha, we hear you.😄
The pliers would be a small set of needle nose with a return spring.
And a rope cutter
Now this is the concept product that we've all been waiting for!
İ have 4 implement suggestions;
Corcscrew maybe for tshank,
Hammer,
Spork tshank or normal modular,
4mm/Leatherman flat bit adapter.
Can you suggest these implements to Roxon, i think these will be great and useful, and mostly, many people use these things
Nail clipper and glass breaker as well.
4mm 100% , needs to happen. I think they could even make it a 4mm/Flat bit hybrid.
İf they do it, they could make a lot of tools obselete, and the current 6,35mm is not good for double sided bits, that needs fixing@@maxlvledc
Loved the bottle opener comment, it’s one of the major plus points for me, I hate multitools with bottle openers.
Very interesting and exciting! Well done Roxon ! And Dom!
It’s nice to be able to pick and choose the tools you need when you need them.
This is an absolute game changer. I completely agree about the bottle opener. I think companies add it so they can advertise a greater number of features. I would much rather have fewer features that are actually useful than more features that are useless
Ya sold me with the left hand blade . 42.50 with your code seems well priced
A dream come true. Long live the Roxon!
Thank you. We appreciate your support!
Just got one…everything you mentioned worked…great job again…as always…thanks!
Didn't see this until the preorder sale ended! Bummer, still real tempting to get, love the modularity of it.
So I preordered bc I love Roxon. But I didn't see how to choose between left and right handed options. Also they asked if they could leave a positive review on my behalf if no one leaves a review after a certain time, and that I would be able to change it afterwards. I really like Roxon but that is sketchy.
I think they somehow forgot to get that option up
ok, just checked with them, just leave a note in the checkout section. If you already ordered just email them.
It has a note under the preorder block…
So is the preorder price $50 or is it 15 percent off the $50 ??
@J2k1980 it's 15% off of $50 so my total was $42.50
Would love if they added a USB-memorystick, and since its replaceable, when ever there are leaps in technology it can be replaced
The brush can be awesome for office carry, to clean those keyboards
i am ordering friday woot woot lefty version. saw, scissors, awl, knife, bit driver, it it can all fit.
Knife blade, tshank, and bit driver. Would make my perfect multitool. Waiting for a company to do this, but this is the closest a company has come.
That hook is also to help pry out hooks from your fishes. If you go fishing, it’s a type of gouge to remove hooks that are inside of fish’s mouth among other things.
I already see myself cleaning out my knives and multitools using the brushes.
These are nice there isn't much multitools with cleaning tools.
Eventually I can see that..I would go s35vn personally
I agree. I don't really care for D2 as a knife steel. Any of those three would be a nice change.
I love it, but imagine red or orange version 😅
My go to tool is the cork screw. That's all i need.
